To anyone coming to the yarra valley a visit to Red Relish Cafe on the highway in Yarra Junction is a must. The very generous servings from their extensive menu is always freshly cooked, tasty and beautifully presented. Adam, is a really talented and passionate chef whose range of award winning pies are huge & yummy, and his extensive selection of & individual cakes on display is always simply a delight for the senses, beautiful to look at, but even better to taste. Oh & dont miss out on the best coffee in the valley. But to avoid disapointment, especially on the weekend, I suggest if you can call ahead & book a table as this cafe is very well known and extremely popular with locals and visitors. & yes, I'm a local!!!

Of the 4 Cafe's & 2 Bakeries in Yarra Junction, this is by far the best place to eat, real homemade pies made with real meat not mass-produced dehydrated pie mix but real beef in the chunky beef pie, real lamb in the lamb pie and real chicken in the chicken pie, everything made fresh on the premise. Pies, pasties and sausage rolls bigger than local bakery can only eat one not two to three that would be how many needed from local bakery to match, rolls and sandwiches packed high with quality fresh ingredients not to mention gorgeous chicken Parma’s made from fresh chicken breasts not processed formed, thin schnitzels, all real food and fresh at reasonable prices. Thanks guys, for real quality food providers.

Terribly busy and understaffed. Three empty tables weren't cleared for over 40 minutes while people waited to be seated outside. We just sat down nevertheless at a dirty table, and our table wasn't ever cleared or cleaned, even though it was obviously not our cups/plates sitting on the side. When our food finally came, serving size was rather small for a bowl of chips - but at least they were nice and hot, and delicious. Coffees were not hot enough, but we didnt take them back in for fear of having to wait another 30 minutes. Overall impression - if they got more staff it could be quite good. If youre rushed for time or impatient, forget it.

Oh so yummy! Homemade food; can’t beat it. Usually we ride our Moto’s to Warby for lunch but lately we’ve had nothing but great food in Yarra junction. Yummy HCT toasty & my friend loved his smoked salmon and avo which was huge. They don’t skimp on their choc milkshake either (unlike other places) even when busy staff are friendly. This is our new foodie stop! We will be back!!

The food from Red Relish is really good, everything from breakfast to lunch and heat and eat dinners leave you full and satisfied. The passion from Adam the chef comes through in the quality of all the foods. Then there’s the sweets OMG! So many choices with an individual twist on all the favourites and things you didn’t know existed but need to try. The coffee is great, the staff is friendly and work hard getting service to every customer as quickly as they can.

Very slow at service, the staff were very rude and not welcoming at all. How about you supply some service with a smile, greet your customers when they enter, and clean off tables when a customer leaves instead of leaving dirty dishes on a table for long periods of time, makes the place look dirtier than it already is. Will not be returning after my visit last week, only giving you 1 star because I have to. Employ some younger people maybe who run your plates to and from tables, who might also bring a bit of life into the place.

Lol don't ever give negative feedback, the owner seems very quick to jump down your throat, perhaps missing her menopause medication? In any case my point being confusing open times when you clearly state what your hours are, being today, Monday, you were open? Checking multiple websites state different times and you are closed Mondays. Perhaps when you've calmed yourself down a bit and regulated your hormones, you might want to check. Have an awesome day!

Very helpful and polite service. Coffee amazing savoury out of this world, I had the arrancini bolonese bomb it was superb. Unfortunately the sweets need a bit more work the yo-yo a little dry and needs a little flavour meanwhile the friand flavour was great but a little sweet and bottom half mix was raw. I'm sure this must have been a once off as presentation looked great. Keep up the amazing work.

Staff were rude. Coffee was horrible. Didn't even drink it. Threw it in the bin. Pastries were all burnt and so hard to eat. I would recommend finding anywhere else to stop. Polite and attentive staff and very generous servings. I had the burger and chips - it was very good, though not my favourite, I liked how it tasted though - very much homestyle. And the chips... I'm not sure how, but they tasted very similar to McD fries. Which is a good and a bad thing depending on your thoughts on fries. Personally I like them! Would definitely come again if I'm in the area.

We went there to check it out and it was amazing. Yummy very well priced food. Friendly staff. We will definitely be going back. The ricotta and spinach roll was delicious and the scone with jam and cream. We also took a vanilla slice home and it was amazing!!

Coffee was nasty, pretty weak, looked and tasted a bit like a nescafe, thought maybe an extra shot would help so went and said I'd pay for another shot and got questioned in relation to whether I'd requested a double shot initially, explained I hadn't. Anyway, nice of them not to charge me but coffee still not good. If your just stopping for coffee I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Certainly not fancy but adequate. Would have been nice to have loose leaf tea rather than a tea bag and some artisan bakery style bread like sour dough with our breakfast rather than two slices from a white loaf of bread that I can get at home. Sometimes it’s the little things that make a difference. Other than that, the service was good and meals came out quickly.

If you like pies then you have to try one here. Award winners, great pastry and awesome filling. I had the beef one. My partner had the ceased which was a little salty but it was a good serving. Was open grand final weekend.

Stopped for lunch on a Sunday and had the most amazing food I have ever tasted -the Bruschetta was fantastic. We also purchased cakes for when we got home, which were even better than they looked, and pies for lunch the next day. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, and the food is well worth the drive - no matter how far you have to travel.

High quality local food and friendly staff make this a destination in Yarra Junction. Highly recommended!

Good coffee, superb atmosphere (I love the heavily grained wooden tables and chairs, and the artwork next to each table. I only had a cookie but their cakes and savouries looked delicious. Lots of indoor and outdoor seating. Free wifi is a real bonus too... mobile phone coverage is not all that good in the area.

Excellent vegan options, big and delicious servings at a good price. Friendly staff too. Will definitely visit again

Pretty decent cafe, with good on the go foods like quiches, rolls etc. Food could be better but no complaints for the value we had. Staff friendly and good stop over at Yarra Junction when you are heading to places like Warburton or Marysville! Next time will have to try the other things in the menu :)

Lovely spot on a sunny autumn day. Canadian pancakes light and fluffy with thick maple syrup and bacon, really yummy. Fish and chips very generous serving and very tasty. Great coffee as well. Friendly staff and food comes out quickly. Will definitely be back.

The ladies at Red Relish are very friendly. Have tried all the pies and love em’ all! Also there’s a reason the shop is name red relish. Their relish is the bomb. Great ambience and great food. What more can one ask?

Friendly staff , Amazing chicken and leek pie ! also the giant yo-yo deliciously fresh -best Ive ever had . But can’t say the same for the veggie burger (unless you’re big on mash potato patties) it wasn’t my thing
