For the official WORK & HERITAGE FOOTWEAR Store it was shocking how much knowledge the employees lacked. For starters it’s a very very small store with what seemed like a limited selection of boot I’ve been wearing Red Wing’s for the better part of 10 years and looked forward to investing into the next 10 years with a new pair of work boots. From the moment I walked in I was treated like I was buying a $10 shoe from the clearance rack at Zellers. Either the salesman was new or didn’t have the best understanding of the English language. The website offers FREE returns on order overs $75 but the salesman made it seem like he would be charged personally if he ordered a boot and I didn’t buy. First the style I have been wearing was discounted, which is fine but there was no boot similar to replace it. After trying on the Supersoul 2.0 Regular I made the comment of it feeling tight and wouldn’t mind trying on the Wide style. The salesman made the comment about the boots stretching and they would fit better after breaking them in. Now remember this is a $500 boot and comes in 3 different widths. I said I would like to try them but in the Wide style. The salesman than informs me that they do not have this width in stock and they had just placed their store order last week. I said not a problem place the order and I’ll try them once they come in. Again the salesmen made it seem like this would be an issue as there was no demand for this size of boot and what he would do with it if I didn’t buy it. The other salesman who seemed to have better English informed me of the Flat Soul Style boot Traction Tred Lite which might be more comfortable. The only issue is they come in brown and a black boot is needed for my jobsite. Sizing became an issue again with this boot as they did not have the Wide style in house either. When I asked the salesmen for more info on dying the boots he scoff and said he never heard of such a thing. When I pulled up the information from the Official site again he was very put off and said well maybe for different boots but not that style. He kept repeating that he has never had anyone ask for this or never heard of this. Making me feel stupid in the process. At this point it felt like I wasn’t being treated fairly and decided to leave the store. There is a few other places that sell Red Wings in the city but most have low stock and selection. I was looking forward to checking this store out but can honestly say go anywhere else. For a premium boot I was not treated properly and employees should know their jobs better. Best to go elsewhere for this boot.

I checked out Red Wing after they had sent out an offer to my workplace. The people working at the store are awesome- Tunde especially. Once they have some more staff it will be even better- there were three people working while I was there looking for CSA shoes and it seems I got the most inexperienced person on staff. She didn’t quite have the answers for my questions but I know that the store and products are probably still new to her and that she’ll do great as she learns more. If it hadn’t been for the offer from my workplace, I probably wouldn’t have even known the store existed though! Nonetheless, the service is what will keep me coming back and recommending the store to others. A couple things were less than ideal which is why I couldn’t give a full 5 stars: 1) the selection of boots/shoes under 6inch height was really slim and 2) the selection of “women’s” shoes was menial, but I found shoes that fit well and were reasonably priced in the selection of men’s shoes. The store hours are pretty limited too- I had wanted to visit on Monday after I worked my own job from 7:30am-4:30pm but they closed at 4pm. Most other days they are open 10am-7pm which worked out okay for me but I can see how those hours would be challenging for some job fields (especially those that need steel toes) who may work 8-12 hour shifts during the day. I hope that as they gain popularity the store hours will expand too. Finally, I wanted to purchase a gift card for my partner who is due for new work boots because I enjoyed my experience but they didn’t have physical cards which I’m not really a fan of. Instead, it was a barcode for a store credit on a receipt. I’m not mad because I’m giving it to my partner, but if I wanted to actually gift something to somebody less close to me, I don’t want to hand over a receipt with all my details on it (which method of payment, time and date I bought it and all the other stuff you get on a receipt). 4/5 easy, just a couple more steps to go to get to a 5. Should come with time.

This is my third pair of a Red Wing boots, so I’m no stranger to the experience. It can be a bit of a process, especially if you are trying the “Fit Machine” for the first time. There is a lot of information to consider. Still, even while Brooke was helping another person, I never felt 2nd best! These items are high performance items and require a lot of assistance to come to the correct comfortable fit. And while seemingly indestructible, do require some care and maintenance for their longevity. These “add-ons” increase the cost of the purchase, which can make you wince a little, though are worth it, and are a testament to product knowledge. It can be a tough sell. The entire experience from entering the store, and even before as I called first with a question, right through to exiting, left me feeling confident with my purchase.

I’ve been a loyal customer to Red Wing for over 10 years, have referred countless of people and really enjoyed their products and durability. However this location has definitely destroyed that relationship….worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, the attitude from the staff is horrendous, they don't stand behind the brand. If you’ve purchased anything from this location and have to deal with them do yourself a favour and go over their head to corporate. Deal with RedWing in the United States, 1 phone call and an email will solve more than this location could do in 6 months!!! Not only myself feels this way, but I got my significant other to deal with them because I swore I’m done with their rudeness and disrespect that I was willing to leave with close to a $400 loss…..

Hands down the best Red Wing store i’ve been to. I am proud to say that I was their first customer at this new location in Winnipeg. The owner is fantastic, very friendly and knowledgeable. A big thanks to all the staff as I have probably purchased an item from them. I highly recommend this place to anyone. They also have a boot machine that sizes your feet to your exact fit making life easy. I love all of Red Wings products especially the heritage boots as i own 5 pairs along with 2 work steel toe boots. I will never stop using Red Wing and I can’t wait for the next time I stop in to purchase another product. Thanks again and see you soon!!

Fantastic customer service, and the best (most comfortable and durable) work boots I've ever purchased. They measured my feet for a perfect fit, and gave me tips on how to wear and care for my purchase to maximize comfort and longevity I used to buy Red Wing boots from Mark's, but they stopped stocking them a few years ago. I'm glad the red wing store is here! Other brands don't withstand the temperature and chemical punishment I put them through, and I've been burning through my Keen's boots bought at Mark's roughly every 4-5 months or so... My partner really liked the comfy benches

Ha. Top tier footwear, and my feet were never measured, never offered to be, neither with a conventional foot gauge nor their fancy "3d " rig. Neither was offerred.i even took my jacket off, i was never made to feel serviced. A between size was in stock, but never offered. I paid close to 500 bucks and i might as well have gone to marks. Online stock was unavailable, sizes were unavailable. This was definitely not a premium experience. Avoid the sterling lyon location at all cost

I am looking for a wide boot. Have no sizes. Can’t tell you when boots are coming in. Like why be a boot store when you can’t have stock. Go to work boot factory they have lots of stock and amazing customer service. Won’t go back I was very disappointed in the red wing store. I heard good things about there boots. Customer service was not the best. He tried but his hands are tied when there no stock.

Bought new boots at Red wing winnipeg toady. The ladies used the ultimate experience scan on my feet as I have foot , ankle issues. They suggested a couple of different boot options. I found a boot that I loved the fit and feel of quickly. They also set me up with Tuff Toe to protect my new boots. Definitely the ultimate experience, highly recommended Red wing winnipeg!

Awesome store, awesome staff. Went above and beyond to help me find the perfect pair of boots for my work. They use a 3D scanner for your feet to find an exact match. Great service. The people here are friendly and courteous. They were out of my size but (possibly the manager - Jonathan?) special ordered me a pair and they came quick. They appear to have done a good job creating a relaxing feel to the store as the staff seem relaxed which I appreciate.

Simply went in to look for a pair of boots in peace and ended up having 3 "sales people" watching every move. Store is small, selection is dismal, and sales people need some serious training. That is not how it is done, folks. Not sure that I'll be back unless something changes.

Very helpful staff, very nice. Some sizing issues with bigger shoes, but they do run big. Some heritage shoes are limited in selection. I am usually a 13 in shoes. And a 11.5 ee seemed to be able to work.
