The movie theater is great. It's by far my favorite in the region. The seats are rooomy, comfortable, and recline to basically any position you prefer with buttons on the armrest. The walkway between rows of seats are very wide and the rows are tiered, so it doesn't matter how tall the person in front of you is or how far they recline. The upkeep/cleanliness is as good as or better than most other theaters, and the staff are friendly and never cause distractions during movies. There are also plenty of screens, so they generally show all the new releases, and best of all, the admission price is pretty cheap, and food/drinks aren't as outrageous as most theaters. As for the rest of the mall, it is pretty much a zombie, just a shell of its former self. There's not much left that you won't find in any random strip mall or shopping center across the country. It is kind of morbidly interesting to walk around and see firsthand how quickly and thoroughly society outgrew and forgot about this place that was a major cultural hub from the '80s until the early 2000s. That experience is probably limited to people over 35 though... To younger folks, it probably isn't any more interesting than an empty airport terminal. Hopefully, the theater can somehow continue to be successful without the rest of the mall because I can't imagine a scenario where malls make a comeback, and it'd be a shame if the theater went under with the rest of the mall.
During the storm last night, 12 power lines around our house were destroyed, leaving our neighborhood without power. In an attempt to keep our family safe from overheating (our house is over 100 degrees), we went to the Ridgmar mall. The mall that is mostly abandoned. We took our dogs and stayed on the top floor away from anyone, although our dogs are registered service dogs, we still made it a priority to keep our distance. We were taking turns using the restroom when we were approached by a very rude security man who wouldn’t listen to us and just kicked us out. When I tried to explain our living situation he interrupted me by saying “oh you’re just trying to be difficult” to which I said “leave us alone we’re leaving.” He continued to make vile remarks as we gathered our things and left. This was such an upsetting experience we will not be returning to this establishment. We will also be seeking legal counsel in regards to the harassment we received from this security person.
Ridgemar Mall! You look like my Christmas cookies. I cut out replicas of the America's from my cookie cake. Hey, Wilton Cake Decorators. I thought they tasted okay looked beautiful but need to be handled with care and properly maintained to preserve their structures. I had two left feet when walking in your mall. Which was pretty clean despite the perveyance of decay throughout the mall. Do any of the stores honor a competing stores coupon/s if so which one/s. I'd like to be able to ride one of those scooters around to each one and collect my all. JCPenny I really do want those gnomes (3). Vending company people I love my little Ninja and maybe back for more. I hope I won't have to call you for a refund. And I need a neutral spot to park a Mitsubishi Outlander Sport I bought across the way from Fort Worth Mitsubishi. What would be the best parking to use?
Malls are having a tough time, but Ridgmar Mall is doing all it can to meet community needs. We visited during Spring Break and it was very busy! The attached movie theater has wide, comfy seats that recline so you can prop your feet up. We sat in the middle section and it was the perfect eye level. The Seaquest Aquarium line was out the front door. We rode the motorized animals where you can slowly travel up and down the mall. Waved at the mini train along the way. The kiddo wanted to go longer, but there were other kids waiting to ride! If you like indoor golf, the neon-lit putt-putt course could be fun. There's a free playground for little ones and a pay to play fancier one. My favorite areas were the two "photo op" walls where you can stand and show off your angel wings! Lunch was affordable in the kinda small food court. I enjoyed handmade tamales.
It is a mall in a big city. It has a seaquest in it that is worth a visit and an rc car race track that was strangely interesting, but malls nowadays feel kinda depressing. They remind me of relics representing a time before the internet when people met face to face with other people and did things without some kind of electronic device figuratively tethered to bodies. Walking through malls feel like walking through somewhere where something great once happened and a lot of people were affected like you could almost tangibly sense the echoes of a bygone time and reach out to feel what has long ago passed. Malls are in their twilight, and the mall walkers are slowly shuffling out never to be replaced by optimistic youths or any others that filled the vast centrally cooled storefronts with their warmth come the dawn.
Despite the fact that half the stores are closed this is definitely a mall that is not dead, though it's wavering. The mall was well lit and laid out. I saw quite a few mall employees maintaining the mall from watering plants to cleaning and security. There were two closed anchors but the mall has plenty more to offer. A very cool feature in the mall was a huge aquarium that spanned five store fronts. The food court had a good selection with only one closed restaurant. There is hope for this mall.
This is one of the most ran down malls i have ever been to. It was practically empty on a sunday at 2pm. The mall looks extremely neglected and needs to be renovated and new more up to date stores should be added. The only thing the mall has going fpr it is seaquest WHICH SUCKED by the way and the play area for the kids which is overpriced for such a small area. I would not go.put of the way tp get to this mall nor would i reccomend to anyone
Well kept for a virtually empty mall. I'm sure this mall must have been failing long before covid. Nice play area, cool sculptures, and plenty of walking room. Unfortunate that there are no stores open. Only two places to eat in the food court. Even the stores that were populated weren't open at 11am when the mall technically opened. It would be nice to see this mall revitalized as it is a really nice facility.
Like most people that go here, we mostly go for the movie theater. It’s sad that most of the stores have closed. This is probably my favorite mall in Fort Worth (aesthetically speaking), a little bit of TLC, and some stores in it, it’s a win. There is plenty of traffic on this side of town for a mall, but right now they just have nothing to attract those people with
It’s soOo sad to see this place so dead.... when it was “THE PLACE” to be and hangout on the weekends, when I was in skewl.... I have to say though, I did notice they’re trying to revamp it... making it kid friendly... with the interactive aquarium, a history music, some kind of 4D movie theater, and a Race car track.... so hopefully they can keep it alive
Sadly, this mall is dying. Close to 70% of the available store fronts are vacant. Even Dillard's was impossible to gain acces to except through one door on the exterior on the opposite side of the mall with no entry from the inside. What stores are available are just a few mom and pops that looked more like a flea market than actual stores.
What a great place to spend the day with your grandchildren while Mimi enjoyed a fish pedicure! Sam was such a wonderful caring guide, she made our experience very worthwhile. We opted for the Epic experience, so we got to interact with many of the animals. I know my grandson will want to go back to SeaQuest when he comes back to Texas.
The mall itself is ok but they don’t have many stores to choose from here. The food court was extremely small and there weren’t many people here for it to be a mall in the middle of the day. It was ok but a lot of the stores closed down or are closing down. I probably wouldn’t come here again but it was an experience.
This place looks like it's going out of business. On one side, you have the movies and the other side business, but they are closing down. We went to SeaQuest, and it was nice, but they need to clean up those tanks. It's not really a food court. A couple of shops seem to be busy. Just no where your going when you go.
We went to the Cinemark movie theater to see Nun II. Cuz, Sis and I hay the entire theater to ourselves. In an age where covid is trying to quietly rear it's ugly head again.....It was comforting to know that we could recline and take in the movie with not a care in the world. The snacks were tasty too …
What a sad sad place. Huge waste of space. Not enough stores. The food court is a sad place, three vendors who are sure to loose all their money, why even open. Look at the candy machines, the candy has been there so long there is mold inside. Tear it down and let the trees and grass take over.
Went to the movie theater to see Sound of Freedom. Everything was perfect tbh. Sears were comfy and reclined, popcorn was the best, and everything looked nice all around. The only bad thing I'd say is the movie theater prices. A lot of people sneak in their snacks to not have to spend so much.
Went to the movie Theater here and we played some games in the little arcade area. it was telling us that the price was $1.40 for 20 tokens. We got that about five times and after I left around 4 AM they charged my card five times for five dollars. bro I got scammed I just want my money back.
I love this mall! It's such a cool place to explore! I hope it gets more business for all the shops but I must admit I love having the place to myself. If you ever feel thirsty you don't have to look far, this mall is like Tokyo! A vending machine every few feet!
Walked Into this mall and it was like a ghost town town the only thing I feel like that is keeping this mall open is all the attractions and things for little kids to do which I was pleased with. Now a days it seems like all of the malls are like this ghost towns
This mall seems having trouble maintaining itself. It has a lot of vacant stalls. Only branded stores standing still and seem making profits for this mall. They free playground is totally worn out. The cushions are ripped and just being duck taped over and over.
I grew up with this mall, I also saw the malls decline over 40 years. It's nice architecture but thr mall need some renovation and foundation patching. They spent a lot of money on some attractions that they think would bring in population.
THE CHINA SPA IS LIFE!!!! I adore this place! It is clean, calming, the owner has magic hands!! Also, he charges a dollar a minute! You can't beat this place! The mall has been through the ringer after COVID, but its hanging on! There's a
Unless your going for something specific avoid this area. There's no much left in here store wise, just the movie theater and a few stores left. We went on a Saturday evening around 5pm this weekend and it was absolutely sketchy. We were
Mall seems dead. Many of the stores fronts are empty. Low quality stores exist that are targeted for kids. The only reason to visit this area is the Dillard's Clearance store. Even then, you can only enter Dillard's from the parking lot.
It's a ghost town. Sea quest seems to be what's keep the place open and even that's questionable. Food court is non existent. They had questionable pizza that looked old and the whole place is just Erie and dark looking. Avoid !!
Good shopping options. The mall seems to really stand by the cinema and SeaQuest. Despite a lot of empty slots on the upper floor, the playgrounds and variety of shops is nice! Especially being indoors during the summer heat!
It's a ghost town. I have fond memories walking around that mall as a child in the 80's and we like taking my daughter to go play. I did like the shoe store there but even that appears to be getting rid of their inventory.
I was actually at the Dillards store, it was difficult getting into the store, they had only one entrance working, everywhere else was locked. The store was clean and the staffs were helpful and friendly.
Hardly any stores occupied the many spaces there, and half of those weren't even open the day we visited. Location definitely has potential, but looks mismanaged since there are minimal vendors.
I love this Mall. Nice atmosphere. Good food court. I love that is very close to my uncles home. There is not a lot of loitering. Great store like JC Penny. I recommend this mall.
Although this mall is dying and does not have a lot of shops. Just going in and listening to the 80's rock and walking around makes this mall unique compared to other Malls.
This mall has gone so down hill. I remember when this mall had so much going on inside and it was busy. Let’s see what happens in the next 2 years. Probably gone.
Has sea quest for kids inside, play zone, fewer outlets, Shoe dept Encore usually with sale on shoes, footwear, not much to do but one time visit is doable.
Very empty and only two options at the food court. The best part of the mall being so empty was the extra room to ride on the ride on toys. So much fun.
I couldn't believe how many stores closed in mall....I remember when they first built it n how beautiful it was...l was sad to see how it looks now...
I think they need more food at the food court and more Awesome stores but they have a great Huge playground for the kids and that's all that matters
Mall is completely empty, 95% of stores are empty. How is this mall even open? Went for sea quest which was amazing but mall won’t be there long.
Going down hill there's barely anything open. Seaquest is a big attraction but with the. Giving free tickets its always packed and not worth it
We all enjoyed feeding the fish ...cute place , just a little small for an aquarium inside seaquest . A little pricey for what you get to do .
a lot of places are closing down & some new places are opening up it is a ghost town as far as people which is good if you don't like crowds
There is very few stores. Absolutely no food court. This was once the best mall in fort worth. It is sad to see the way. It has become
Absolutely beautiful structure of a mall and so clean. Who cares if its a few stores. I was very at peace shopping and playing there!
Came because we couldn't get in the zoo. Grandson loved the train ride. The kids playground place was excellent and a good price.
This place is as close as you can get to another mall being shut down. So many businesses are closed.
There really isn't anything to rate, but this abandoned mall would make an awesome indoor dog park!
It's family friendly, never too crowded, and has so many little activities for your kids to enjoy.
What happened to this mall? It looks like it was great in its heyday but it is a ghost town now.
I went to the Dillard's outlet. Bought 3 85$ shirts for $14.50 ea. Love this place.
