Let’s get one very important thing straight. This review is for the store NOT THE PHARMACY which is the best in Staten Island. I wish I could give ZERO STARS but you can’t. After I share today’s experience I’m sure you’ll agree: I went into the store with my two boys ages 5 and 6. We went right back to the pharmacy to pick up my perscripion and as always their 5 STAR pharmacist Asha was there with my prescription just like every month for the last 6 Years. We were on our way out and I decided to get a scratch off lottery ticket from the machine by the front door/cashier as you walk out. I put in a $10 bill and pushed the buttons but nothing. I asked the cashier,FLORENCE,that was right next to the machine what was up with the machine. She said that it was broken and I’d have call the manager in the morning and ask for my money back. I said that I’d prefer to speak to someone now so that there was no issue because $10 was $10 and I needs it. FLORENCE and I put her name in caps so you won’t confuse or forget it. She yelled and screamed at me with my two young children in front of me. She eventually threatened me in front of the customers, my children, the other customers, the sucurity guard and the other workers. It was crazy what she did and I admit that after I told her I was filing a complaint and she said that she “knew people”!!!! I lost my temper. The security guard was at a loss and the assistant manager came and told her to leave and go on n the back. The manager was kind and professional and gave me a refund but I’ll tell you I’ve never been treated so badly in a Major Chain store by an employee of any title. I’d like to chalk it up to Hey she had a bad day but her actions were Vicious!! Unproked and downright mean. Just something to consider next time your choosing between Rite Aid and CVS in STATEN ISLAND. If you do I hope and pray that FLORENCE isn’t working.
I wish I could give this pharmacy 0 stars. Strike 1 was when they made me wait over an hour with a sick 9 month old for a prescription that should have been ready. The first 20 minutes the pharmacist was on the phone ( it sounded like personal business). She then told me it would be another 5 minutes. She clearly needs a watch because 45 minutes later I was still waiting with a screaming child. The screaming must have broke them because by 7pm I finally had the prescription that was called in at 445 pm. In addition , they wouldn’t even give you a dropper for the medicine, guess I’m supposed to guess how much a mL is. Unacceptable never had that experience (waiting and dropper) at Walgreens across the street. Strike 2 was when my daughter needed an antibiotic skin cream and cortisone. I was wise this time and made sure to call prior to arriving. The pharmacist ( a male this time ) told me he had to order my antibiotic cream and it was $70 and wouldn’t be in until Monday ( it was Friday ). The price seemed suspicious as well because in all the years of having my insurance I NEVER paid that much for a prescription of any sorts. I sent my husband anyway to pick up the cortisone so my daughter could at least have some treatment and they “magically” found a small tube of the antibiotic that wouldn’t be in until Monday for $25. Safe to say I WILL NEVER step foot in this pharmacy ever again . Choose CVS.
Rite Aid is a beautiful example of how the marriage of the traditional pharmacy and health/beauty/ food/ and complete convenience store works. The store has helpful cashiers and are accommodating with most any questions you may have. The store associates are always nice and friendly, they are busy working as well as greeting customers and asking if they could be of assistance. Rite Aid has so many items available it is likened to a supermarket/over the counter health items/ vitamins with a pharmacy staff that is helpful in asking questions whether in regard to the medications or vitamins and over the counter items. The store is accommodating and a convenience to the whole community; moreover a special thanks to the work of the whole security team especially that of a young man named Michael. Samantha one of the store managers is still out on maternity leave and is missed by both staff and customers.
Had my monthly prescription sent to rite aid. They told me that this prescription is out of stock for at least a week. Then on top of that, they also told me that they’re refusing my Good RX coupon. The app clearly displays a contractual agreement between good RX and rite aid but they refused to honor it. When I spoke with good rx they told me that the decision to honor the coupon is left to the particular pharmacist at a particular location and that this isn’t a corporate decision. So basically the specific pharmacist working at the time this was posted is telling me to go scratch on my monthly medication because we don’t keep our shelves stocked and even if we did… you can’t afford it and I’m not taking your coupon.
Dismissive pharmacists who claim never to have anything in stock. However if you call and ask they claim to have said medication available. Update Once again I was forced to use them as my doctor accidentally sent my prescriptions to this company and once again I get the run around and dismissive staff. My prescription was going to arrive at 2 pm yesterday I show up and request my medication. The staff tell me it’s on back order and they don’t have it and walk off. I had to call them back to the till to request an eta for when my medication would be available and I get a dismissive it’s on back order. After further inquiry they just blather on well we thought it would be in our delivery but it wasn’t.
I am fed up with this pharmacy. They practically never pick up the phone when I call. Weeks ago of six times that I called they picked up twice on different occasions. Today I began calling from 8:30 AM to 12:15 PM continuously. they picked up ONCE but they hung up immediately they actually hung up on me-I didn’t even get to say hello. I am going back to CVS at least they answer the phone. I know I’m not the only one who has a problem with them. I don’t know what they think in that department we’re not fooling around it’s medication that we seriously need and don’t tell me to go online sometimes you just need to talk to a human and they are never there for customers. CVS here I come!!
I loved this rite aid but I am so dissapointed in their pharmacy. They ignore my phone calls and I don't understand why . They even picked up the phone and hung up on me ! Also, they have a delivery service , which i chose to try after i paid for my prescriptions because i have a 1 year old who isn't feeling good. The date of delivery was 11/15/22 during the hours of 12pm to 5 pm. Nobody ever showed up or delivered medication to me. I called the pharmacy and to no surprise , I was ignored yet again. Thank you Rite Aid , I'll be sure to pick a NEW PHARMACY that actually cares about people and their needs . Bye.
Located in the same shopping center as Alfonso's Pastry Shoppe and Denny's (it's nestled between them,) the store is now 24 hours, filling a need in the community and mitigating the distance needed to travel for late night cough medicine, school supplies, or simple sundries. Pleasant staff, clean, well lit store. While the store is 24 hours, the pharmacy is not. I posted a picture of the hours. I was surprised at the scope of selections they have here.
Pharmacist is so rude, it's unreal. I stood there for 15 minutes and was never acknowledged. I finally got someone's attention, who happened to be the assistant. The pharmacist would only speak to me through the assistant and not directly. She then told me my medication was on back order and when I asked if she could order it, she refused to. All this while looking at her computer and not at me. Gross.
No complaints. I agree it does seem cluttered. How ever. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable as is pharmacy. One thing that struck me as odd is the security guard and the marked police officer walking around blasting his radio . Made me feel like it was unsafe. How ever the neighborhood is very good and safe. So don't be deterred. Still . This store gets my approval. Good job guys
They don't know how to answer the phone! My mother has been trying to get in touch with the pharmacy for 2 days! We've tried calling different departments in the store, and NO ONE picks up!!!! This is unacceptable!!!!! Edit* I saw the "owners" response, emailed them, and I got an automated email back saying their customer service email is no longer active. Lmao pathetic.
I do like the people of the front desk. But the pharmacist are not good and helpful you wait more then should be they charge you if you have referrals they give you them all at once and charge you $100 or up if you try to speak with them they are rude and bad .l will never buy from them again. …
I never had a problem with this rite aid before but since they changed the manager to this female Christine Marie. I'm sure that is not her last name, and its very unprofessional. She has a very nasty and rude attitude like shes a queen. She is very unhelpful and looks so unpleasant to work with
As alway i find the staff here to be extremely plesent and very professional. The pharmacy department is staffed by indviduals who are extreamly professional and helpful. Everyone from the cashiers to restock staff really go above and beyond .. …
Don't like the feel of this place. The aisles seem cluttered with merchandise stacked up to the ceiling and I have a hard time finding what I want. Overall, it's an unpleasant shopping experience, so I go to other nearby drug stores.
This rite aid always seems to be in a bit of disarray. Shelves dont seem stocked right and have a hard time finding what I need. Dont use the actual pharmacy here so I cant comment on that service.
The pharmacist is crazy rude. They just don't give a damn about you. The cashiers up front were friendly enough but the store manager(s) have a stick you know where. Meh.
My medicine is on back order I called today from 2pm till 430pm not one person answered NOT ONE the phone it takes 2minutes to answer a question
Always check your receipt at register - even when you bring it up, clerk think it is OK to charge more because it's small amount. Unacceptable!
Worse pharmacy staff ever, rude and unhelpful. Never answer the phone and would not help you. I will have to go to different pharmacy.
Wow awesome great enjoy congratulations excellent customer service teamwork RATING FIVE STARS SHARETHEPOST SUPER’S
Rite Aid was neat and clean. They usually have long lines, but my most recent visit wasn't too bad.
Cashiers and pharmacists are friendly. Wish their product range was bigger though.
Flat out refuse to fill my prescription. They previously had no issues doing so.
Sometimes this rite aide can be a bit messy down some isles
