First of all, I wanted to say this review does not apply to the pharmacy staff. They were really nice to me all along my bad experience I went there for passport pictures. Worst experience in my life for something so simple. I waited 20 mins to have the manager come over to take my pictures. I saw him beforehand, roaming around, not really doing anything important (somewhat considering the placement of products in a new aisle). He eventually came over to help me. He took him a bit to take a good picture of me. Instead of focusing, he was distracted, helping other customers having issues with the self service machines by me. It was really annoying as I had to stand straight waiting for him to be done, not wearing a mask indoor. Once the pictures taken, he went back to his office to print them. I don't know why, but printing a few passport pictures takes 5 mins each to print! I was waiting so long, people started asking me questions, thinking I was working here. I waited more than 30 mins to get them all, for a total of a hour spent in the store!!! What a shitshow. Pictures came out with very low quality, with a yellow glow to them. Worse, as I was checking out, I was informed I had to pay the whole price for them like I had came on different times for each picture. If you get 4 pictures, it's 2 sets of 2, meaning twice $10. What a rip off! I wish they had some clear signage about these fares as I would not have wasted my time in the first place. The cashier staff was not friendly either. I witnessed the manager being a hardass to them a few times. No wonder why there is bad vibe to this pharmacy, like others reviews talked about.
This low review is based entirely on pharmacy experience. The rest of the store seemed to operate competently. First, I tried to pick up all six nasal sprays which is allowed by doctor (and insurance when I had it) but cashier told me that wasn’t possible. Their system could only process one per day. Already ridiculous since Walmart and CVS have no issue doing this. The cashier told me I had to go back to original Rite Aid or call every day to order prescription then pick it up on last day. When I called automated system showed no refills (even though we had six) so I had to speak to pharmacist which is challenging and took almost an hour of my time every day before anyone would pick up and only after being disconnected several times per call. But, then, after all that, my husband goes to pick up prescriptions and employees tell him we already picked it up. Ummmm, no we didn’t. They made him call me on speaker phone because they didn’t believe him?!! How on earth do you not know what happened to order when I was calling every day to get it right? How do you blame the customer for your incompetence? Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.
I don't know about the other reviewers, but the sole reason I shop at Rite Aid is for their exceptional and frequent sales. I don't have money to buy a couple of toilet paper rolls at a time at the corner store and cat litter because I pay no attention and let it run out. Huge waste of money! I sale shop. I use coupons. I kill the "Buy one, Get one at 50% OFF!!" deals. There's only two things I am willing to buy off sale: Milk and....milk. Everything else I buy in bulk and only when it's on sale. Revlon makeup.. sale. Clean and Clear Face Wash... sale. Paper towels.... 10 pack on sale. EVERYTHING. I check the circulars on-line on Sunday, and more often than not I wind up at Rite Aid on Monday. It's like Rite Aid knows when Aunt Flo is in town. They put my Always with wings on sale just for that week. It's amazing how in sync we are. I don't care about lines and customer service. All I need is my sales circular and I prowl the aisles all on my own. So get with it people. There's a recession going on. Save money everywhere you can. Shop Rite Aid.
While attempting to finalize my purchase at the cash wrap. For items totaling, $25.00, inserting my card with a chip. The register clerk claimed, “the system is indicating I must swipe my card”. With reason... I was confused considering my Bank debit card contained a chip option. Complying, I swiped to no avail, possibly 4 more times only to be informed “swipe your card again” At this point, the store manager approached who’s name I don’t quite remember fully “Adjesi” Informed I must apply my PIN. Understanding that is an option not mandatory. I complied, entering the PIN, which didn’t process the transaction. After some time of embarrassment, I wasn’t able to use my bank card and had to use my credit card. Which they claimed no fault in creating. This location stereo typically singling out black people and assumes they’re all committing credit card fraud. I’ve been a Brooklyn resident all my life and it’s disheartening law-abiding tax paying citizens. Have to undergo this type of racial bias.
Probably the worst pharmacy ever- they sell Tampered/Unclean Items. Customer service can be bad, but you expect to get the stuff you buy. Well, I bought some expensive boxed hair vitamins . They took it out of the store protective box and I paid for it. When I got home, I opened it up and more than HALF of the vitamins were popped-out of its sheet. I was shocked to know that someone eat more than half it and must have returned it. And instead of checking it- the store restock it and sold it to me. Beyond the fact that I paid a lot- this store must be extremely unhygienic to stock half eaten vitamins and God forbid- food. Apparently they don’t follow basic return policies. I would never buy any personal items from this store cause they are so lazy to check the goods they put on their shelf’s - you are putting your health at risk of unclean/tampered items. STAY AWAY!
Through the website I requested for them to transfer a script and set an appointment time of 12:30 to pick it up. At 13:30 they still didn't have it and didn't call me to let me know. They also didn't seem to even have it on their Todo list. I had to make the request again, give them the other pharmacy's phone number again, etc. I don't think requests through Rite Aid's website do anything. The staff are polite and doing their best but the location is massively understaffed and they don't have good systems for managing requests through the website.
Never again will I spend my money at this location. I’m so upset the rite aid on 10st and 5th ave became Walgreens. The minute I walked in looking for exactly what I was there for they announced that the cameras were watching Ok.. then the “security” followed me in the store all the way to the register until I paid. I felt unwelcomed and profiled it’s disgusting that I was treated like that especially when you yourself are an employee for the company.
Upon paying for an item at the counter. When you swipe your credit card a green box comes up telling you to press to accept but in small print it says you will be charged one dollar as a donation. This is deceptive cause you can easily mix up the green credit button with the donation button . The cashier does not give you any verbal warning or choice of this procedure. It is fradualent and deceptive to customers that don't speak or read English also
I didn’t care for the store layout - it’s difficult to find stuff. And then the cashier. I didn’t have a Rite Aid card but I could have saved $8 with the items I bought. Sometimes they scan it anyway. Sometimes they ask if you want to open one. Nope. “Have a rite-aid card?” “Sorry, I don’t.” “That’s $25.12.” Thanks for your help. That’s always why I go to Duane Reade but sometimes you have to go off script and settle for what’s nearby.
This is NOT a 24-hour pharmacy. Their site makes it very clear that they are 1) a pharmacy and 2) open 24 hours. But the fact is, if it’s potato chips you need at 2am, this is your place. Medicine on an urgent right now basis at an odd hour - this is not your place. Despite its being right next to a hospital. AND THEY DON’T MAKE THAT CLEAR. So don’t have your doctor send your odd-hours prescription here!!!
I booked a Varicella and MMR vaccine shots online, but when I arrived at the store for the appointment, they told me that they never do Varicella because of its storage requirements. For MMR, they only received powder which is not suitable for vaccination. The staff was apologetic, but it was a huge time-waster. Instead, I ended up going to City MD, a few blocks away, where they had both shots.
I wonder why do they have a phone number if they will never ever pick up! I’ve been trying to talk with someone at the pharmacy for hours with no luck at all. And when you go pick up the medication you can be hours waiting at the pick up line (and you know they can see you) and they will simply ignore your presence. Very disrespectful.
Not only are the lines long and the staff surly, the selection of products is limited and horribly organized. It takes me forever to find basic things like toothpaste and aspirin and oftentimes they're out of stock. I can't get over the fact that they promote themselves as "healthy" but most of the store is taken over by junk food.
One of the worst Rite aids, from lack of stock (lots of empty shelves, it usually looks like it's going out of business) to service, most store employees try to do their best but it is so understaffed. Pharmacy personnel is very rude (except for one male pharmacist who is very kind), they act like the customer is an inconvenience.
I went here in 2019 bc the pharmacist was doing a great job with flu shots. This year, that pharmacist was not there. They served another flu shot customer before me, and one of the pharmacists was wearing a VENTED mask. You have to go into a small, unventilated room to get a flu shot. So he would be breathing all over me. I left.
Skip this location. I can't get a pharmist on the phone! They immediately hang up the phone, if they choose to answer! I also asked them not to automatically refill my prescriptions. Of course they turned the feature back on without permission! God help you if the line is long. It's an unbearable visit!
Went for a flu shot, 10/12/2001. Had to sign in but no one at the pharmacy desk had a pen or a clipboard. So, no flu shot at Rite Aid. Had to go to Neergaard Pharmacy further down on 7th, where the clerk had both a pen and a board. In the future I will start at Neergaard's.
This store is in desperate need of help. One cashier, no more self-checkout, and always out of stock. Don't go during lunchtime when the line goes almost to the back of the store. The best time to go is Sunday when school is closed, and most hospital staff is off.
This is about the pharmacy- If you wanna have unprofessional pharmacist this is the place for you. They need a training on patient care, clearly they skipped that course. Grateful I found a new pharmacy that actually gives time and respect to their customers
This place gets very crowded, especially since it's located directly across from a school and a hospital. There are sales, but be aware of the date on the sale items. Lines are a little longer here since they are understaffed and employees seem overworked.
I love the staff here. They are always helpful and friendly. Having this place open 24/7 is a live saver. They have everything you need like diapers, ice cream, and chocolate truffles. The isles are always organized. The store is always clean.
Every time I (very reluctantly) stop in here, I can't find at least one (basic) item I need, have to navigate disorganized aisles and wait an inordinate amount of time in line. Poor selection, unfriendly staff, and an overall mess of a store.
I usually love the pharmacy here they are always helpful but, Kassandra was lazy. Didn’t bother to call to check to see if my insurance was valid she told me to call. Then left to lunch. I guess in this case the customer was not important.
This is a comparatively small Rite Aid but the stock is weird. It's hard to find anything, it always feels kind of messy and disorganized and while going to the drug store is never "fun", this place is always a super last resort for me.
Worst staff in any store I've ever been in in my LIFE! I didn't think it was possible to be more disorganized than they were, but then they remodeled and proved me wrong . I now go blocks out of my way to avoid the sh@*hole of a store.
Nice people but unfortunately poor service. I was asked to wait for medications 20 mins for processing an eye drops then the pharmacist told me "we don't have it" ...in general its good place to buy popcorn not medications.. Depressing
May be ok for prescription s. But I couldn't get decent help on locating a certain item in the beauty aisles. One employee told me to ask another and welI I just got fed up and left. Wasn't that important to find. Please do better.
Pharmacy is the worst. I asked if the pharmacist can call to let me know if a change for a covered prescription is in. She responds with if I can remember. They never have anything in stock. Go to Greentree Pharmacy. So much nicer
Hope you got some time to kill. Literally the slowest cashiers in the world. Get ready to wait 2 years to ring your bag of chips. They even removed self check out registers bc that takes away from the experience...
I don't normally leave reviews for pharmacies, but this one is terrible. Poor service, nobody seems to care about the customers and there's hardly ever anyone working. It's an all-around disaster every time.
When I went into this store, there were not too many people in the store. I dropped in for two items. The cashier was slow to ring up my items. If you are in the area, then stop in. It was okay.
THE CASHIERS ARE SO SLOW AND THEY CLOSED THE SELF-CHECKOUTS. The store now also locks up $3 toothpaste?!! (And expects you to wait for the cashier to unlock it). This company is comically bad.
Recently remodeled the store to make it much more user friendly. If you have a baby, their diapers are always on sale with the rewards card. Not always enough employees working the registers.
If it weren't so close by... I would never go there. The pharmacy service there is pretty bad. Horrible and erratic communication regarding when things are in stock, ready for pick up, etc.
I have NEVER in my life ever experienced anything like this Rite Aid. If you do come in here, add a half hour on to your trip for WAITING IN LINE. Miserable, bring a book or a noose!
I was there to buy a shower gel. Interestingly, I found a single pack of Axe, I know from Germany. Nevertheless, the entire site is very simple and you have to make compromises.
I've been to this RiteAid many, many times as it is in a convenient location, but I never leave it in a good mood. Staff is extremely rude, and customer service is awful.
Passport photos are poor in quality! My face was so yellow from the flash! The store has been recently renovated and hope that the service improves too!
This pharmacy is trash. They make you wait for your prescriptions because they are not ready. Wait is very long. Steer clear of this place at all costs.
Every single time I step into this Rite Aid, I can count on the customer service being terrible. Not even a “How are you” much less a “thank you.”
Great prices, great customer service. Convenient location by the hospital. Opens early which is great for my morning work commute purchases.
Been 10 mins in line. "Sorry we are closing, come back tomorrow." The incredibly poor customer service in this location always surprises me.
Consistently the longest lines of any store I've ever been to. After you're done waiting 10 mins invariably rude staff are at the counter.
Cashier was literally watching videos on her phone while ringing people up / aka watching the customer queue keep growing and growing...
Pathetic phone service at the pharmacy. Staff is inattentive and requires 30 minutes of waiting to confirm my script is actually ready.
I was out of town and had to stop by to pick up a prescription. The pharmacist couldn't have been more patient and helpful. Thank you!
Bad service, poor selection. Wish I didn't have to walk all the way to the CVS on 9th, but this place sucks too badly to go to.
Needed to ask abut a prescription: automation took me to pharmacy and staff was able to easily help me :). Thank you!
Service is consistently slow, rude, and unhelpful. Don't understand how this store has survived the competition.
Rude cashiers at front, too bad bc it’s a great staple in the neighborhood, super unpleasant to shop here tho
This is a depressing pharmacy. I wish someone else would take it over and at least clean it.
Slow, terrible customer service, employees are rude or on their phones, pharmacy takes ages
Staff was terrible. Couldn't / wouldn't accept a "out of state" VISA. Didn't even try.
When I go to this store it is always clean and usually have what I want.
The Rudest One in Brooklyn, The Staff are not polient friendly and kind
This place NEVER has two cashiers working at the same time!
Rude rude rude never willing to help, and hang up on you
so rude black female cashier employee 8/6/2023 12:23pm
They are always open when you need things real fast
Great. for every thing you need from a drug store
It's the only place that open 24/7 in this block
Staff have been friendly and polite with me.
Extremely rude and unprofessional staff.
Rudest customer service in the world.
Great shopping experience as always.
Wheelchair accessible
love rite aid!
I love it
