First and foremost, I'm giving 1 star because I have to. I do not recommend bringing your pets to Samantha Swartzentruber. One of my dogs was getting a dental and ended up going into distress during her dental because the tube was inserted too far down her throat. Another one of my dogs was not diagnosed correctly, and her eye went untreated due to the wrong diagnosis. My dog did not have cataracts she had dry eye. Now, she has to have one of her eyes removed. Something as simple as getting tear production strips and testing her tear production in both eyes to confirm her diagnosis would have saved her eye. It would have only taken a minute or two and her eyes would have received proper treatment over the last couple of years; therefore preventing the need for removal. This "veterinarian" does not like to be questioned, she allows her own personal feelings to get in the way of accurately diagnosing. If you ask questions or question anything, she talks down to you and treats you as if you're a bad pet parent. Mind you, my dogs are pampered pets and are loved. If you want your pets to be adequately cared for and you want them to receive the utmost care, I do not recommend Samantha Swartzentruber. Update: No one reached out. This office clearly does not care.

I moved here in January from New York, my dog Harry developed a boil that wouldn't heal, he was a Chinese Crested, he was 10 years old, I was worried to trust a vet I didn't know, I looked up vets near me, I saw the reviews and picked Rockville rd Animal hospital, they fit me right in, and told me the boil was suspicious of cancer, tried antibiotics, didn't work, aspirated the boil and it was cancer, my biggest fear was to put Harry through a treatment and pain to prolong his life for a few months, we tried the surgery, it looked like it worked, but 2 weeks later the cancer came back with a vengeance! In the end, I had to put Harry down, I just want to say, these people helped me through the hardest thing for a pet parent to do! They helped Harry every way they could! Every single person there was awesome! For not knowing anyone here, they made us feel like family! They tried everything! It was inevitable what the outcome was, but these people are truly the best!! Thank you for your help, what you tried! How you handled the situation, the sympathy cards, the donations to other pet groups in Harry's name, you are the best! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Highly recommend!!!

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS VETERINARIAN OFFICE!! I HAVE BEEN GOING HERE FOR YEARS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WHATSOEVER WITH ANYONE OR ANYTHING!!! THEY (AND I MEAN EVERYONE!) ALL SEEM TO GENUINELY CARE ABOUT MY PETS AND ME!! MY PETS SEEM TO FEEL PRETTY AT EASE THERE AND I THINK IT'S BECAUSE THEY CARE! THEY ARE MORE OF A FAMILY ATMOSPHEREWHICH MAKES EVERYBODY FEEL COMFORTABLE!! YOU DON'T HAVE TO WAIT VERY LONG OR AT ALL FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT. THAT'S REALLY NICE, THEY GET YOU RIGHT IN THERE. I LOVE THOUGH HOW THEY TAKE THEIR TIME WITH YOUR PET CHECKING EVERYTHING AND LISTENING TO ME AND ANSWERING ALL OF MY QUESTIONS!! ☺☺ THEIR RATES AND MEDICATIONS ARE VERY REASONABLE TOO!! I WOULD RECOMMEND THIS VETERINARIAN OFFICE TO EVERYONE!! I'M SO HAPPY THAT I FOUND THEM!!

My family has been seeing Dr. Mary for years. She spent 3 hours after closing with my mom and I on the worst day of our lives 8 years ago when we had to make a decision about putting our golden down. Since then, my husband and I have two golden retrievers, 2 & 4 months. They both love Dr. Mary. When Luna (our 2 year old) gets told she is going to see Dr. Mary she gets so excited! With our new addition, I was happy to take her to Dr. Mary and would never consider anywhere else. She is very thorough and listens to all of your concerns, questions, and comments. The staff is very friendly as well. We LOVE Rockville road animal hospital and highly recommend it to any and all pet lovers ♥️

I started taking my one-eyed, blind, deaf, senior dog to Rockville Road Animal Hospital a couple of years ago. Dr. Samantha Swartzentruber was passionate, caring, thorough, and it was evident how much she truly cares about animals. She provided a care plan that prolonged my dog’s life to the ripe old age of 17 with pretty good quality of life for such an old girl. When it came time to make the toughest decision any pet owner has to make, Dr. Swartzentruber made sure that she passed peacefully. Shortly afterwards, I got a handwritten sympathy card from Dr. Swartzentruber and the staff, which was a nice touch. I would absolutely recommend this clinic and Dr. Swartzentruber.

I was a bit anxious about bringing my older fur baby in and leaving her for the morning while she was sedated and had her ear hematoma drained. But my anxieties were calmed as I was kept in the loop the entire time via text and phone calls. Sassy came thru splendidly and the follow up care in the days after was amazing- and very much appreciated- as I was able to ask questions and get answers right away!! What an awesome experience! I am so glad my friend recommended Rockville Road Animal Hospital ! Thank you, I look forward to sharing both of my pups with you :) Tanya King

I took my dogs to get there shots and the staff were dragging dogs down the hall and treat there clients very poorly I would never recommend this vet to anyone my sister use to work here and she said that this vet euthanizers more pets with health problems then any vet she worked at when there were other ways to treat them the vet would not even talk about the other treatment options for the pets The vets first thing she say would be to put it to sleep and did not even talk to the pet owners about the other treatment options

We were blessed with a rescue kitten and Rockville Road Animal Hospital was the only vet (of many) we called that was able to see our cat almost immediately. Their staff are kind, caring and knowledgeable! We like them so much we are going to bring our older difficult cat to them when she is due for yearly inoculations. We recently purchased a purebred pug from a breeder and they were able to see her immediately as well. We trust them and think they are all amazing!

From techs to Dr. Sam, Peyton received great care. Dr. Sam’s diagnoses based on symptoms, labs and exam was correct. All questions were answered and links to more educational information along with pamphlets were provided. Registration was quick, we had no wait and were placed into a clean exam room immediately. We have brought our many different adopted pets here for more than 20 years and have always been treated well.

I was told I had to set an appointment to put my dog down. They were very aware that my dog was in pain and was suffering. They also told me they could NOT Reccomend another vet that would be willing to take my dog in right now. She was 16 yrs old. They are just here to make money!!! Pathetic. Never in my life have I ever heard such a thing!!! Something seriously wrong with their souls! I find it disgusting and cruel.

This veterinary hospital has seen all my pets over the last 15 years and they are awesome.! I will continue to take my pets there because they are very friendly and knowledgeable,compassionate and affordable. I had a few different vets that where not able to diagnose one of my cats and I went to Rockville Rd Animal hospital and they found the health issue without any problems so they have been my vet ever since!!

The Vets, especially Dr.Barton are so deeply caring and patient with you and your fur baby. They are truly concerned and understanding for your dog and your peace of mind. I have never felt more secure for the health of my dog. The costs for services are always fair to me. Our Bailey will always get good care here. We finally found the right Vet clinic with the right staff and lovely care. - ❤❤❤

Do not hesitate to visit this vet. The people who work here are incredibly friendly and compassionate. Each and every time I bring my dogs in we're treated with respect and given the best treatment available. My dog has diabetes so I'm constantly in contact with this location. I've never had a single bad experience and I will continue to visit this animal hospital for any pet/animal concerns.

We have been taking our pets to this veterinarian for about 35 years. There have been many doctors and many technicians that have come and gone. We have said goodbye to much beloved pets and had first visits with new pets over the years. Rockville Road animal Hospital has always been there to help and support us with whatever we need. We have always had good service with very caring people.

The staff at this clinic are the most caring, knowledgeable crew you'll find. They've helped with me with both cats and dogs and have gone as far as to help keep my dog Cain going strong two years after he was originally slated to be put down. Dr. Sam treats myself and all my pets with the utmost kindness, care, and professionalism. You'll be hard pressed to find a better Vet in Indy.

Extremely friendly staff! Very helpful and they are excellent with our dogs. Scheduling is easy and we love that we can communicate to the staff/office in text messaging. One of our dogs is on medication and he requires to test his levels every 6 months. This was the first vet that sent me a copy of his test results in an email with information. We love Rockville Road Animal Hospital!

Today was one of the worst days I have had in years. I had to have my dog of 10 years put down. However, I cannot begin to tell you how caring and sympathetic the doctor and staff were in the last precious time I had with my fur baby. If ANYONE ever has to go through this traumatic decision for their animal - please consider contacting the Rockville Road Animal Hospital.

It went great! They cared to share me information about the procedure and the possible results from it. I did admire when they called me about the results of the exam and suggested what I should do from there. When I agreed to their suggestion, they were quick to do the procedure and even gave me an estimate time on when my cat would be ready to pick up.

We have taken a couple of our cats here and we’re very happy with the service we received. Called in to schedule an appointment for Izzy, and I spoke with “ JULIE” she was AWESOME!!! She listened “really listened” to me and thoroughly explained what could be going and what we should do!!Thank you Julie, I appreciate you!❤️

Dr. Sam and the staff took awesome care of Lily during her surgery and kept us informed of everything going on. (It also cost 1/4 the price a local emergency vet wanted for the same surgery.) We were given very clear after care instructions and Lily is on her way back to good health. Thank you all so much!!

King Julius whom swallowed his vaccination tag is doing well. He's poohing & tooting regularly. He found a jar of peanut butter while I was out & he ate the entire jar so I guess his gas will suicide. I had to deworm him myself recently because he ate pretzels & were a bit salty. He should be fine.

The nicest most caring staff I've ever dealt with. My cat got a trebble hook stuck in her paw, it was on a thursday am and we called them first thing. They asked how fast we could get there and the Dr. Was waiting at the front desk for us when we got there. I will never go anywhere else.

Coming from a different vet practice that was not a great experience, we were not sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised by the general atmosphere and care we received. Dr. Sam was knowledgeable, compassionate, and seemed to actually care about our fur babies' well-being.

Truly cares about your pets. The vets & staff are great. They have clean & well kept offices. They do not try to up sell all the time like Banfield does. The are compassion & made letting go of my cat quiet & respectful. Then sent a sympathy card with my cat's foot print on it.
