Horrendous, atrocious and completely incompetent service. On multiple of my days off now I have tried to book an appointment at 8am, not once have I been successful in the past year. I don’t understand how this place can even be considered a health practice when it so blatantly doesn’t care for any of their patients - check the reviews for yourself and you’ll see. In my personal experience, I last had an appointment here in May 2022 when I was first under the impression that I had epilepsy. On this day I spoke to my GP (I think she has left the practice now) who told me all my symptoms were nothing like epilepsy, to stop being skeptical and cruelest of all told my mother I was a “spoilt brat” who was being “dramatic” and “overplaying anxiety symptoms”. All because I hadn’t yet experienced a full tonic- clonic seizure, well shortly afterwards in august 2022 I had my first tonic- clonic for half an hour in the middle of east Prescott road. I could’ve died and it all could’ve been prevented if this surgery would’ve just taken me seriously in the first place. But here I am a year later, fully diagnosed by an epilepsy specialist from the Walton centre. I have been reluctant to go back here since the incident with my GP but she has now left so I chose to stay for it’s the closest to where I live. Yet even today when I only need to go in to collect a prescription my specialist prescribed here for me 4 months ago, I am aggressively dismissed by the imbecile behind the front desk. No appointments left I’m told, I’d obviously called nearly 100 times from 7.59am so I can’t see any reason I shouldn’t get an appointment, this has happened every single time I have called up in the last 4-6 months. In fact in the 10 seconds we were on the phone today, the lady told me herself the gods honest truth “if you don’t like it go somewhere else!” Well it seems I’m left with no other choice, it probably won’t be another number of months until I get my singular prescription and I have fully accepted the fact that I will never receive care or compassion from the facility, though that’s all their workers are supposedly paid to provide. I do not trust this practice. They have failed me too many times now.
I am shocked and worried how patients are treated at this practice. The system in place is terrible. I dont think that they want to see patients anymore. I think that the receptionist need to go on a training course in how to deal with patient enquiries in a respectful and caring manner. I phoned up at 8am to see a doctor and was told to phone back every morning at 8am as all appointments were allocated.I was told it was basically first come first served.I was then offered an appointment in 2 weeks time to see a Specialist Nurse instead. When i explained that it was not suitable as i was ill and i questioned the system with a view to making a complaint, i was told to put it in writing and the receptionist hung up. I phoned back ten minutes later and spoke to the same receptionist and booked the appointment with the Specialist Nurse. I asked her why she had hung up on me and she said that i was shouting at her. I have 2 witnesses that i didnt shout at all and i was very polite and professional. I asked her if she would pass me through to the Practice Manager and she refused. I then asked her if our call was recorded and she was unsure. I asked her to get the Practice Manager to listen to the call and to get back to me. She said that she would but would not ring me back to confirm that she had done this. I told her that i would like to make a complaint about her and she told me to put it in writing. I understand that times are different due to Covid but i think the receptionists should enquire what is wrong with you without going into detail and maybe get you to go to the walk in centre or the hospital if they are too busy or dont want to see patients anymore. On a good note i did see the Specialist Nurse last year and she was caring and professional.
Really disappointed with the surgery lately. Trying to get an appointment with a GP has been impossible. I’ve not been in for a few months so I am not sure if the staff have changed. I would generally know the staff who answered the phone and there is no familiar voices. Previous to this I always found the staff great to deal with and when I could get to see the GP i have always been happy with Dr Galina. Since Dr Kothari left I have found the service has declined. I have tried ringing 7 times in the last couple of weeks,I manage to get through at 8am to be told all the appointments have gone. I asked could I pre-book and was told this is not allowed and that I need to call at 8am. I explained to the man that i was not being rude but if it was now 8.03 how had all the appointments gone? He explained by other people calling and the GP booking some herself. I once again pointed out that without being rude it would be impossible to fill all the appointments for the day by 8.02-8.03. I have been offered to another another member of staff, however I have explained it is the GP I want to see and I have reasons for not wanting to see someone else. I was then asked ‘what is the reason I want to see the GP’ as maybe someone else can help. Today I decided to give them 1 last try and I was met with exactly the same responses. I have now decided to leave the surgery and have been to collect forms for another GP surgery. We have been here for the last 12 years but I really feel there’s no other option. But thank you to the staff I have seen over the years that have helped my family.
If I could give zero stars I would. I've been aware of the difficulty in getting an appointment for some time, but as I thankfully don't use the doctor often it's not affected me. However, now I do need to see a doctor I called to make an appointment and was told by the man on reception I needed to call back at 8am tomorrow. When I asked why, he said because that is when the phone lines are open ..I pointed out that I was on the phone now and he had answered. He said yes, but we only discuss appointments for that day if you call at 8am...I advised that I didn't need an appointment for today, I just wanted to book the next available day. He told me I couldn't do that, as this wasn't how they worked. I could only call at 8am in order to get an appointment for that day, if one is available. I told him that I work full-time and so this was no good for me...I have to give my employer advance notice of an appointment in order to get the time off. The man on reception simply said, "well that's how we work the appointments". Absolutely no help whatsoever and by the sounds of it, no hope of getting an appointment. I was told I could seen an ANP if I came at the weekend...no idea what an ANP is...or I could go to a walk in centre. What is the point of this surgery being open??? I've heard rumours that if you are paying for private cosmetic procedures, you have absolutely no problems getting an appointment at this surgery. Seems they may be finding this more lucrative. Let's hope my condition isn't serious.
Reception staff is very rude. My daughter rang to inquire her medication which was requested a week ago and was not sent to the chemist. My daughter is without her medication for 5 days now. I think that is negligence. When my daughter asked her about the medication, the reception staff failed to give her the reason why the prescription was not sent to the chemist. Instead she said ive ordered it now, check in the evening or tomorrow. She was very rude, unprofessional and behaved in an inappropriate manner. My daughter was really upset the way she was spoken to and did not want to call back regarding her medication. So i called to inquire back and was answered by the same receptionist staff. She refused to give me her name. She was still unprofessional so I asked her if i can speak to the manager and was told that the manager is on holidays and did not offer me to raise my concern to next person in charge. I don't want this person to be talking to my daughter again. Can you please make a note of this on my daughters records. Please respond to my complain ASAP.
Couldn’t agree more with the posts that report the rude and unsympathetic nature of the reception staff. The two men who work on the reception are particularly rude and I don’t know how they get away with the dismissive way they communicate. If I spoke to my patients in my job with so little compassion I’d have been pulled up and disciplined. As a parent of a child with a chronic condition, it’s now got to a point where the poor service can only be considered unsafe. It’s worth pointing out that personally, I’ve not had a bad experience with some of the staff. Particularly the two older male drs and nurse pracs. They’ve been good. The other staff leave much to be desired, and that’s being kind. I’d never recommend this practice and how it achieved a rating of Good with the CQC in 2021 is astonishing!
AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE. This GP surgery does not even deserve one star. We have been patients here for a year and have never been physically seen by anyone. You call 235 times at 8am (when the phones open) to be told no appointments left by face or phone at 08:08am. The reception staff are vile, they speak to you like dirt and act like they are Simon Cowell giving you the right to go through the the next round on Britain’s Got Talent, they have zero empathy and generally don’t care. If you are one of the lucky ones who get a call please ensure your phone is on extremely loud as you get one shot at this random call appointment that can be at anytime of the day. It’s actually laughable how ridiculous the service is, absolutely zero duty of care.
Nothing short of a complete disgrace this place, I was involved in a major car accident in which I suffered a brain injury and a broken back. This place gave me the wrong medication resulting in me having 4 major seizures and being hospitalised for the 3rd time. Another issue is the phones I can never get through to speak to anyone, I ran low on my medication at another time and tried and tried to get more medication but couldn’t get through and this resulted in me being hospitalised again with seizures. My mother went into the practice to make a complaint and got the response that I mustn’t of had the right phone number. Please avoid this place is just sheer negligent in every way possible!
Atrocious surgery! Rude, ignorant and unprofessional receptionists who do not have an ounce of compassion in their bones! Are they paid a bonus each time they do not help a patient? Incompetent staff who issue the incorrect prescriptions and try to force you to make yet another 8am phone call (when you can never get an appointment) in order to fix their error. Disgusting! Formal letter of complaint handed in today, which I doubt I will get any response to. How is this surgery still in business with so many horrendous reviews?
Just been to this doctors for the first time in 9 months. The reception staff are so rude, cold and unprofessional. I think they need a training programme setting up on how to speak to people and how to handle situations. I didnt get to see the doctor as they were running late.It is impossible to get the doctor to call you or get any contact number or email address to speak to them. I can only assume that the doctors dont care about how the reception staff behave judging by all the bad reviews.
If I could give no stars I would. EVERY TIME!!! I go into this doctors there is a issue. Absolutely awful! Will be moving doctors ASAP!! Appalling all round. One receptionist says no appointments and you can't pre book because let's face it I've not got a life obviously! the next one says oh yes you can, no idea why you've been told that. The man on the desk is useless and isn't even remotely helpful or friendly. This is a doctor's we want a friendly service. It's not much to ask
Appalling, receptionists are rude, there is no hierarchical management to speak to to express concerns, according to admins their is no GP present on site, contacted today as in severe pain post cesarean section and was told there were no slots today for an appointment and had to wait until tomorrow. Admin staff refused to give their name and said they wasn't obliged to. From reading previous reviews I can't say I'm surprised how they run the service they way they do
Absolutely disgusting service I had from the receptionist who May aswell call herself a GP wrong advice given and when called back up she was in denial. This has caused me to move GP practice due to the vile attitude I received. Maybe you should look up receptionist and realise you need some customer service and people skills instead of putting the phone down on people when your in the wrong!! If anyone is looking at a GP in the Childwall area AVOID!!!
Went to an appointment today where i saw a nurse ,( dont think any doctors actually work there) with 3 problems and she helped with none of them . It was a waste of everyones time . I had to book a 30 minute appointment to speak about 2 problems, managed to slip in a 3rd but i was still out within 5 minutes. Im not sure why they are open because you cant get an appointment and when you do they dont want to help.
This is my 87 year old Mum's surgery and she has not seen a GP at this practice for 3 YEARS having been constantly told by the awful rude receptionists to call at 8am. I called on her behalf this week and got through at 13 minutes past 8 to be told all the appointments had gone for that day!! Disgraceful patient care, infact non existent. Zero stars if I could, shame on them.
staff are rude try to put you off seeing a doctor told to go to a/e while waiting for a call of doctor by receptionist told me do not have a clue when next male doctor would be there cold no empathy need reporting must have to answer some one i hope more reviews are wrote . the rude ones know who they are ..
Absolutely rubbish service. None of the receptionists seem able or willing to help. They just want to get rid of you as quickly as possible when you phone up. I would NOT recommend anyone to join this practice. Truly awful service and, in my opinion, unfriendly receptionists. Call wait times are a joke too.
Worst surgery ever. You can never get an appointment. Staff are so rude. My daughter has been feeling really low in mood, got an appointment with practice nurse who could not do anything. What a waste of time. Shut the place down because it is a waste of tax payers money keeping the dump open
Wonderful, helpful receptionists who can't do enough to help. However, the doctor is extremely cold, disinterested and makes you feel like your appointment is an inconvenience to him. Doctor didn't listen to me regarding the history of the problem I went in with.
Reception staff are extremely unhelpful and rude, there only interested in making sure you know they are in charge and you do exactly as they say. Someone needs to tell them there dealing with sick people and should show a bit of respect and compassion
Only ever been here once! The first time I got a appointment straight away on the day I needed for my son. But once I seen the doctor it was pointless. Came out with no answers and still have a problem that needs looking at. The second time
Awful! Just been told I'll receive a note on my file for calling and cancelling my appointment with not enough notice. I was cancelling because my sick 2 year old child is too sick and falling asleep on the couch to make the appointment. I
Doctor is going to end up killing someone, get out of there while you can, worst doctors ever! Had a on going problem which was daunting for a man my age. Seen the doctor twice he fobbed me off, went to other health professionals who where
Absolutly awfull. My husband had a Phone consultaron weds 2nd march 2022 as he was feeling awfull they rang him at 10.21. At 14.30 i had a Phone call from my dad to say go straight home. My husband was dead he was 43 yrs old. And they
Nigh on impossible to get an appointment and staff need to possess a more humanistic approach given they’re dealing with potentially ill patients. However the biggest area for development is: PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE cut the
Rocky lane medical receptionists are not abit helpful Since dr kothari left the surgery has not bein the same They make you feel uncomfortable on the phone and actually find them quite RUDE
Disgrace . Almost impossible to get an appointment. Two lads on reception talking between themselves using bad language whilst I was in the waiting area. Does not deserve a star
Delayed an insurance claim by 5 months thanks to sheer incompetency, lack of staff and lack of any communication. Reception staff normally no help at all.
Waited over two weeks for an appointment to get a doctor and got a nurse practitioner who was useless dont go here it is awful
Awful place. Impossible to get an appointment. Reception staff are the most rude people i have known !!!!
