I stop by this Royal Blue pretty often when I'm walking a dog in the area and want a quick bite and beer. The outdoor seating is usually in the shade and with a breeze due to the tall buildings nearby. Bottled beer can be purchased and consumed outside along with Taco Deli tacos, sandwiches, and some other brand of tacos I can't remember. They also sell a variety of other packaged foods, typical high-end convenience store fare. It seems like there's always a steady stream of kids going through here picking up their beer for the night. Staff is very friendly.

I have a couple of issues with this place. 1. The price I was charged was not on the label. The label had it for $1 less and it was for the product. I picked it because I was comfortable with the price it was labeled. To then change it at check out is a huge red flag. 2. When I told the cashier that, she gave me an attitude. She changed it, but then after I payed she proceeded to made an ugly face and role her eyes. This cashier was extremely rude. Her cashier # is RBGI. I don’t have a name but that’s the cashier that rang me.

This is a go-to takeaway place for me as it's in my building and has long open hours. Much better stocked than a typical convenience store with specialty items, produce, prepared foods etc. Only thing to watch out for is when you pay by CC their system automatically gives you a choice of how much you tip. If you've "self-served" groceries and don't feel a tip is warranted you have to override the default which will mark up your bill by moving screens to "no tip" - an off-putting system.

This delightful local collection of late night grocery stores are definitely worth a visit. The staff is very helpful, friendly, and fun to chat with as you collect the various odds and ends necessary to make your life easier. Grab an avocado for breakfast, snag a moon pie snack, or select from a variety of wines for that last minute gift for your dinner host. A true downtown treasure!

Such a great place. Catering to the vertical neighborhoods in the downtown area. Great food, service, wine, and beers selections. I shopped here regularly when I lived downtown. They have multiple locations conveniently located around the downtown area. If you can't find it ask them to get it. If you continue to buy it they will keep it for you regularly.

The food is fine and they have a decent option but if they get your order wrong and the white lady with the black hair is there expect her to argue with you and talk down to you. Also don't expect her to give any form of apology or anything. But I can assure you she'll just slide your food at you without even looking at you. Pathetic customer service.

In Austin's sea of Royal Blue Groceries, this one's a gem! It's not just the items on the shelves, but the awesome folks behind the counter that make it shine. Amanda's bubbly vibes light up the place, and Amber? Best sandwich and smile combo in town! Pop in, and feel like you're right at home with the coolest neighborhood crew.

  • Alex Valaitis

I frequent this place a lot. Good vibes & decent selection. However, you need to stop price gouging so much on items. For instance, I recently bought some batteries that were ~40% higher than normal retail. And this is pretty much the case with every item. Things like this, definitely impact my likelihood of visiting the store.

I eat lunch here often. Lots of choices ranging from salads, tuna sandwiches etc. all made locally. They have sandwiches to choose from that they will toast for you that are all really good. And they have lunch specials Wednesday through Friday. Wednesday is 5 dollar cheeseburger day and Friday is usually Thai curry chicken.

I love the navy blue scheme of the store. It brings me back to my days in the navy, and shooting down Japanese kamikaze before they could explode in glorious style on the side of my aircraft carrier. I may not be any good with a 20mm Bofors gun anymore, but I certainly can appreciate the high quality groceries.

  • Ellen Pierson

This specialty grocery store is so clean and full of a wide variety of goods! It has been my savior during the Covid19 quarantine. Clear directions on masking and the front doors and touch screen continually cleaned. I will continue to support them even after all opens back up. Thank you Royal Blue!

  • Allen

An upscale convenience store that serves a fantastic veggie grill cheese. Food is prepackaged and prepared when you order. I’ll definitely make a return in the near future to try their other items. Only reason why I didn’t give it 5-stars is because service could have been better.

Was out working in Austin October 8th-10th. OMG.....this is the best place to get all the best snacks and food. The staff (each and everyone) of them was amazing. If ever in Austin check them out! I see why all the locals love all Blue Royal!!!! Thanks again for everything!!!

  • Lindsey Thompson

Good grocery store for an area that is otherwise a food desert. Mostly packaged snacks with very little produce - you can buy an apple or a lime, and no real veggies. Good selection of chips, beer, ready-made foods, chocolate, and ice cream... what more could you need...

  • Nick Driscoll

Great chain of convenient stores in the area. Bought some food late because nothing else was open nearby. Bought some beer, eggs, and gallons of water for the same reason. My bill was 3 to 4 times more than I would have spent at HEB. Convenience has its price.

  • A XD

All their locations are great each featuring a slightly different selection. Great single beers that can be consumed on premise. The staff here are all cheerful and ready to help you and usually inquire before you have to. Always a good experience.

  • Nikki Proper

I come here for lunch all the time, I love the aesthetics and the food selection. I’ve tried the pizza, coffee, and chilled foods in the cooler like tuna salad and everything is always so good! Natural and organic selections too, great staff!!

  • John Rodriguez

Super nice staff , great food . They have burgers that are made fresh to order on Wednesdays and break fast tacos every morning. Nice area outside with tables and homeless people never bother you here . Store has a diverse selection of all

  • Michael Stevens

This is a great little store that I often stop in at when I'm walking around taking photographs downtown to pick up a drink. They have a great selection of beverages and many local options. I do wish they had a public restroom though.

  • Christy Horton

With the growing number of downtown condos, its nice to see that Austin produces funky little mini grocery stores that carry local products and good beers to feel the need. Great spot to sit outside and people watch as well,

  • Jakob Galbavy

I love the sandwiches here! Especially the Cuban is just perfect. Next to the register, there's usually a pot of soup, but sometimes there's Texas chili or gumbo in it - make sure to get a cup of that if they have it!

  • Nicolaus Moon

A very inconvenient convenience store. Poor selection of unusual and overpriced products - nothing simple or familiar. Couldn’t find anything I needed. Also looked understaffed with a long line for service.

  • Jonny McMeows

Great location and hours with a selection of necessities for anyone living downtown. You'll want to do your major shopping elsewhere as this place is expensive, but highly convenient for small spot needs.

  • Lauren Smith

LOVE this place! it is amazing how much stuff they can cram into a small store. great prepared lunches. the cookies they sell at the counter are SO good. i am tempted to go get one every day at work...

  • mockme jockme

It's convenient, what's not is the cashier's giving me the wrong change Everytime they give me my change back.. "I gave you 20 mf dollars" how is a bottle of water and a bag of chips worth 18 dollars

  • Jason Shupe

Pretty good, but I wish their sandwiches were made to order and had a greater variety. Also I wish they had breakfast tacos without cheese. Easier to add it if you want it than to take it off.

  • Pabliño ElNiño

It was chill. Cashier repeted the price like I didnt hand her enough money . i looked at her and said thw number too and she was like oh thats a dollar coin thoyght they werre all quaters lol

  • Cliff Bragg

This is a great little corner market. Had their Cuban sandwich. It was almost as good as one the ones from the shops in Miami Beach. They even had truck parking. Blue trucks only. …

  • With Love, Angelique

Best spot in town for quirky gifts, stickers, all the drinky drinks and delicious snacks! Cant go wrong with RBG! Please get a drive through and more locations in Austin, we love you!!

  • Jon Blondell

They're all pretty much the same, definitely upscale, usually friendly staff. Closest thing to a grocery downtown you're gonna get! The sandwiches, cooked on premises are very good!!

  • Marcin Tandecki

Very convenient and decently stocked little store. Granted, the convenience comes with a higher price tag than you'd find elsewhere. The products are always high quality and fresh.

  • Snigdha Agarwal

The vegetarian grilled cheese sandwich was very basic with hardly any vegetables. The sauce on the side made up for the bland flavor. I also wish they had more vegetarian options.

  • Rick

Massively overpriced convenience store, but hey gotta pay that downtown rent. They do have Rockstar bagels so that's a point for them. Would have given it three stars without it

  • Jason Lustig

The current employees decided to close 10 minutes early even though the time says 12 midnight and we were there at 1151pm and we've already paid Royal blue 1/3 of our salaries

  • cheryl dunn

The cashiers are always nice. They make you feel welcome each and every time...Very polite....I go in on Sunday mornings...Im a Cap Metro Operator....Thanks Royal Blue Grocery

  • Dominic Eidson

Small boutique grocery store in downtown Austin. Has a good vibe, though food staple selections are thin. Has lots of pre-made food and drinks, both alcoholic and not.

  • Chantal Piët

I love this place! Always parking nearby, not too busy with traffic to sit outside, the manager is awesome, all staff super friendly and great assortment of products!

  • Charles Bastian

These stores are all over the place. They definitely come in handy when you need to stop in for a snack or a drink. Always clean and the staff is always friendly.

  • Mark Schneider

Handy place to grab some especially great breakfast tacos. Pre made sandwichs can be grilled and served hot. I grab lunch and breakfast here when i am close bye.

  • Mark W

Extremely over priced.. get a feeling of being gouged.. So much so it effects my opinion of all the royal blues. I stay away from this place as much as possible

  • Isaac Martin

Have gone here for lunch a few times. They have a variety of rotating specials, which have all been good. Pretty expensive all around, lunch and grocery items.

  • Trevor Glick

Burger Wednesdays are super good here. Line can be a little long at lunch time but it moves fairly quickly. They also have a good selection of unique candy.

  • Jesse Moran Peña

Great place for coffee and a snack if you’re touring the capital. Nice outdoor seating right on Congress. I would call it moderately price at $15 a plate.

  • Adrian Pizana

Things that you can purchase from an ordinary corner store (coke, Dr. Pepper things like that) are a little bit more pricey (some times up to 50cents)

  • Linda Mizell

I will go here if necessary, but it irritates me they expect a tip at the cashier desk. Doesn't royal blue pay their employees minimum wage?

  • Ryan Brenner

Great place for all necessities. They even have Flat Track Cycles Coffee! Uniquely Austin coffee with a uniquely Austin vibe. Check it out.

  • Soda Pop

Decent place, a bit pricey, but it seems they have a good stock of local and organic products, so it's worth it if you are a picky eater.

  • Avian Kehoe

great little store in the heart of 2nd street that sells all the things you need, and things you wouldnt think of until you see them!

  • Kseniia Fedoseeva

Bought cottage cheese that was expired 3 days ago. Plus surprisingly was asked for tips. For what? For you guys not doing your work?

  • Ben Avila

By far worst of all the Royal Blues in terms of selection, and most of all service. Better off going to Whole Foods down the street.

  • Antony Suarez

Very cool place with some excellent hot and ready breakfast tacos. Try the Hemp all natural organic kombuchas, they are a delight.

  • Mark Borchelt

Friendly staff. Very nice selection of drinks. They also have contact lens solution which is helpful if you run out late at night.

  • Coach Craig

My brother hates everything, but loves the Italian. Worth the review based on this alone. Honestly, the Cuban is more of my jam.

  • Lawrence Darsey

I love how they let almost any one hang out there. I hate how they let almost anyone hang out there. Lots of love. Some trouble.

  • Tammy Sanderson

Great location; side bar from the heavy traffic of the big ole city. Nice place to sit and take and take a moment for yourself.

  • John Yeager

This chain of little Neighborhood Grocery Stores always has great people working behind the counter and good selection of items

  • Curtis H

The packaged foods, like pasta salad and sandwiches, were exceptionally good. Nice cross section of foods for the traveler.

Nice store to shop at it's a little expensive side but the quality of the food and drinks are very good and a lot better!
