If you are downtown and need a market, this is your only choice. The staff are friendly and helpful, but the inventory is severely lacking. You can buy a sandwich, a cookie, or other prepared meals, but the "grocery" sections are ridiculously understocked. The prices are a tad high, but considering the prime real estate this store occupies, they could be worse. My wife needed something for breakfast, so we bought two cookies at $1.75 each. The cookies were big and tasty enough, but there was little else to choose from. Trying to find a supermarket in central Austin is like trying to find a needle in a haystack, In 2+ days in Austin, we saw only one, a H-E-B on the northern outskirts as we drove into town, so choices are limited, especially downtown. I knew I was at the right place when I noticed the line. Service was quick and simple, you can either pick up one of their cold items (e.g. beverages, sandwiches, etc.) or hot items (e.g.sandwiches, pizza from East Side Pies, etc.). Prices are fairly reasonable for the quality. Expect to pay around 10 dollars or so if you choose to buy a sandwich and beverage. I decided to go cheap and ended up buying a slice of East Side Pies' pizza which ended up being around 3 dollars. Very tasty but incredibly thin--I wouldn't advise buying this if you are feeling hungry during lunch time. Overall, I would return here if I'm in the vicinity.

I work downtown now and was a little worried I would not have a good choice of grab and go food items at my disposal. The receptionist told me about Royal Blue Grocery. There were plenty of snacks, drinks and hot food for my choosing. I decided to grab a taco and an energy drink. I would love to see a better selection of Bang's Reigns, Ghost and Celsius energy drinks. I was able to find one that I liked. I also grabbed a snack and was in and out in a flash. If you are looking for something that is not what you would normally find at a chain store, I would stop into this place.

Extra friendly, patients, smiling emoyees here. Very nice selection of products. Today I had a slice of pizza. The Royal Blue pizza slice is awesome, as are the rest of the types of pizza. I almost had a sandwich dubbed "The Italian" but it was huge and I wasn't that hungry. It looked delicious though, I may try it next time I'm there. In the middle of downtown this is a nice cozy place with an old store feel to it. Awesome place!

Just around the corner from my hotel, this little spot has pretty much whatever you might need, whole/organic/etc-wise to tide you over on a visit...in my case, a great sandwich, a bottle of wine, and almond milk. Extra-stars for their totally laid-back response to me forgetting my wallet and having to run back to the hotel to get it -- everything was ready when I got back, and they didn't even look at me like I was a dingbat.

Convenient for the location but quite overpriced. Also I wish I didn't have to do the tipping dance even when buying items just off the shelf, tipping for which is just stupid. Markup on some items is horrific but your other choices are the 7-11 next door (not bad, if they have it) or bring it with you. Staff is always super nice and professional. Also, they carry East Side Pies pizza by the slice.

Royal Blue is not only the place to go for some unique snacks and drinks, but hamburger Tuesday can't be beat, definitely the best hamburgers in town! Selections in the grab and go are super fresh and delicious! The staff is so friendly and helpful with whatever you might need, I have never left here without a fully belly and a smile on my face! In short, Royal Blue never fails to impress

For your quick stop in Downtown Austin for lunch or a quick snack, this is your place. They offer decently healthy food options for a quick grab, or you could order a sandwhich/pizza slice and have a seat in their cozy outdoor patio! Sometimes I just run in there for a Mexican Coke or a little snack if I am still hungry after lunch. Definitely worth walking in there and checking it out!

There aren't many grocery stores in downtown Austin and Royal Blue Grocery isn't much of a grocery store. But, if you need something good to eat in your hotel room after too many nights dining out, you can find food and drink here for two, for about as much as you might pay for an appetizer and glass of wine at a downtown restaurant.

Conveniente location. Clean Friendly staff. I went to Austin from Houston for 2 days, and I needed a grocery store close to my hotel, gladly this store is on 6th street and was only a block away from me, I went in at the site looked really clean, it was really easy for me to find what I needed and also the business hours are GREAT!

  • Chantal Piët

Love the Royal Blue locations. Friendly people, good foods and especially this one has a fantastic patio right on Congress! Fresh meals, healthy salads, hot Taco's, all from their own kitchen, definitely worth visiting during lunchtime ! Great healthy options , fantastic staff, good management. Only parking is a b##ch ;)

  • NewSide

It's a small store that makes an attempt at getting as many misc. things as possible in there. Don't expect to be able to get enough groceries to full blown cook anything from scratch but you can likely find enough to hold you over until your next meal. They looked to have sandwiches there too but I didn't try them.

  • Cody Faulk

My go to work lunch spot. This place is perfect for some healthy quick lunch options, even though I probably choose the most unhealthy thing there. The Reuben is delicious and makes my afternoon workload seem a lot more bearable. Pick up some healthy snacks or a six pack for after a long hard day at work.

  • Madison Gardner

Love this place. Has an amazing selection of kombucha and delicious sandwiches. I get the grilled cheese one and it has cheese, tomato, artichoke...maybe other things but OMG is it so freaking good. Also have a good selection of local snacks. A little pricey, but like you're getting good stuff.

  • Edward Beheler

Cool little local grocery store. They had a large selection of chocolate and candy that I hadn't seen since I was in Germany. Lots of special 'organic' and whatever food. Prices were pretty high, compared to once of the mega-groceries. The deli sandwiches that they had looked pretty tasty too.

  • Natasha Rogers

A cool and unique neighborhood grocery store with gourmet offerings. I love that they always have kombucha in stock and freshly made sandwiches. Pick up a breakfast taco from Tacodeli or fresh make pastry from a local bakery. The prices are a bit steep, but it worth it for quality products.

  • Michael Berliner

awww yeah, get me some taco deli breakfast tacos in the morning and flatbread pizza in the afternoon, don't mind if I do. What's this I see? six packs of beers? well I was coming for the pizza and coffee, but I guess its not too early to start drinking? I mean it's Austin, do what I want.

  • Brian Watson

I live at the 360 so I go down to RBG a lot. If you need milk, eggs, a sandwich or anything they normally have it. Great Beer selection! I'm a big fan of their Ruben! They also have tons of wines and home made cookies. Thursday is Thai Food day at Lunch also. It's a great corner store!

  • Marisa Davis

I went for Burger Tuesday and got the black bean patty. The burger is big, juicy and made with fresh ingredients. I really enjoyed it. And the price was inexpensive. I just wish they had fries too. I got a pack of chips instead but the price is higher than in other stores.

  • Charles Sankowich

I’m here now and this place is sooo impressive. Their food selection is soo interesting. Great quality. And their staff is super friendly and helpful. Hunter, Camryn and Gigi were all sooo helpful and deserve recognition. They’re a great reflection of the Royal Blue brand.

  • Michiel Buitelaar

Great shop - a wide variety of packaged and fresh food, and drinks. Very good sandwiches and salads. A lot. Clean and well presented. Fast & friendly staff. Healthy stuff, no fast food-type, industrial produce. Very very good. I go there a lot during SXSW.

  • Tim Guzman

Small grocery store located on Congress. A great place to grab a bite for lunch, as they have tacos and both preprepared sandwitches and hot ones. Royal Blue has an extensive selection of healthy drinks. Try the Texas Hold 'Em sandwich because it rules.

  • Zach Moore

Hot sandwich was pretty good and, while a little expensive for what you get, the price was not outrageous. Lots of specialty foods available including a selection of interesting looking ice cream flavors I'd like to try, riesling poached pear sorbet?

  • susan castellow

This is my go to for a quick bite if I'm staying at one of the nearby hotels. Employees are always friendly and their pizza slices and sandwiches hit the spot. They carry a nice little selection of salads and a variety of drinks and snacks as well.

  • Enrique Jimenez Jr

Friendly service and a quick walk from Firehouse Hostel. Crunchy apples and cold drinks as well as an assortment of prepared sandwiches and other foods to go. They have a nice little patio right out the door on which you can enjoy your purchase.

  • Ivy Portwood

Some great lunch options, including the Pad see-ew and other Thai dishes as well as terrific salads. Lines go quickly and you can find a lot of good items - albeit at a rather high price. It's better than trying to drive around downtown though.

  • Laura Spath

Good options for various dietary needs, especially keto, gluten free, or carnivore diets. Several recognizable brands of keto foods. I also found this awesome meat/cheese tray which made for an awesome meal when looking for zero carb options.

I have always enjoyed coming into any Royal Blue since the first store opened on 3rd street. Comparing Royal Blue to any other convenience store it is so more more of a friendly clean and classy place. Almost all visits been great.

  • Stephanie Peralta

The owner feels that people who have no choice but to sleep on the streets is a burden on his store’s image and I would not want to support a company that clearly does not care about people when they are at their lowest point.

  • William Powers

My girlfriend had Thai food here yesterday. There was a rock in it and she got food poisoning from it, just horrible. She has had other bad experiences before here, bit this is the straw that broke the 1 star camel's back.

  • Dave Fuller

The soup and baguette sandwiches always make a perfect lunch. I have no doubt the other food is great as well, but I haven't felt the need to move beyond the daily specials. Who knew pistachio butter was incredible?

  • Casey F

Super friendly staff and delicious burgers. The store is a little small and gets tight/cramped with people during the busy times, but otherwise is a great little place to stop in and grab something to eat or drink.

  • A C

Royal blue is always a safe bet for delicious sandwiches and great products. Staff are always professional and I’ve been to various locations dozens of times and can’t recall a single issue. Decent coffee too!

  • Robert Elsishans

If you are out and about in Downtown Austin, this small store is full of good snacks. You can get a sandwich and a drink, among other items, to enjoy on their outdoor patio right next to Congress Avenue.

  • Grant Carpenter

Bought a daily food special and it had a list of ingredients on packaging. None of it was in the dish unless it was pureed into it. It was just a lot of potatoes and onions which wasn't even on the list.

  • Zion Jefimoff

Short store hours and the owner seems to be extremely bias against the homeless so it is t the ideal environment to get my coffee I love Royal blue it's other locations I won't tolerate cruelty to humans

  • Andrew Chartrand

The amount of selection that they fit in this small store is amazing. Royal Blue is fantastic! Great sandwiches, salads, burgers, and local and national items. RBG always has what I need or want.

  • Chris Billig

Amazing downtown spot. It's the convenience store redefined with upscale offerings. I particularly like their drink selections with more unique items to choose from than just Coke and Pepsi

  • Jerry Manning

Employees very nice. The food is fresh good coffee. They have a patio with music so you can just sit back and eat or drink your favorite beverage. Come and visit. You will not regret it ;-)

  • Matthew Neaves

This Austin chain is awesome. All the essentials, plus luxurious drinks and snacks. This, however is not my favorite location. The one down the road on fourth is more friendly and roomier.

  • Matt Kimmett

Stopped in and grabbed a bagel and coffee for breakfast. Both were fresh and delicious! Friendly staff and noticed a great selection of items in store. Will be back next time I'm in town.

  • Bryn Harrington

A really unique grocery that is worth a trip! Great sandwiches and large selection of drinks. They have everything from your favorite bottle of wine, flowers or a good magazine.

  • Ali Griggs

Cute little shop with plenty of ready-to-eat options for a fast meal. Some sundries for those unexpected needs. Great outdoor seating for people watching on busy S Congress.

  • Chelsea Rawls

I go to RB at least twice a week for lunch. The food is great, and the staff is absolutely incredible. They're always do happy and kind. I HIGHLY recommend Thai Wednesday!!

  • Six 66

Delicious coffee. the place smells good. The cashier is adorable. The barista is gorgeous . Lots of healthy people strolling through and they don't even know they are hot

  • Mark Myers

Small grocery with plenty of selection. Fun selection of beers and wines, snacks and candies. We didn't try the sandwiches, but they looked great and carefully made.

  • Ryan Saucerman

I had my reservations with the hot sandwiches here since they were put into a microwave. But after putting butter on it and a panini press it turned out awesome.

  • Sam Bagwell

Always happy here- good tacos, great snacks and fresh coffee. The barrista was feeling it today and even made a lil foam art! Love it and seeing my regulars!

  • Chris Salch

Convenient and easy to get to if you're downtown. While the line is never that long, getting there about 11:30 for lunch will get you in and out faster.

  • carter lauck

Wednesday special Tom Kha soup was to die for, also got a bean and cheese and chicken fajita taco that were very good, the pink salsa is really spicy

  • Tim Raymund

A mug, a Cuban and some food to go! It's amazing how many good choices are in a relatively small space. The best service on top of that. I like it!

  • Mark Schneider

Convenient downtown location. Great selection for professionals on the move. Stop in here for healthy essentials including Buddha's Brew Kambucha.

  • Kat

Grab and go. Expensive but fast. Veggie friendly. Snacks galore. Coffee is as good as you can expect from a place that doesn't focus on coffee

  • mario pasantes

Nice people with pretty smiles. Good service in a easy setting. Few hot sandwiches. I had a Texas Hold Them. It was great and hit the spot.

  • Prashant Verma

Excellent sandwiches from an unexpected source. Buy a nice belgian ale from their selection and you have a nice night at your fingertips.

  • Greg Heilman

Good ruben. (Actually was a rachel with turkey and slaw) Sauce was not thousand island but a very spicy hot concoction. Could not eat it.

  • Nicholas

Small place but has most common things I need. Also has a few extras and having a cappuccino is nice while grabbing a couple of items.

  • Jon Peterson

Cool place with pretty good sandwiches. It's not a bad spot to grab a beer. They're a little pricey but offer a good selection.
