***UPDATE vom 13.12.2023*** Nachdem es bei der Sixt-Hotline auch noch am Montag Vormittag technische Probleme gab, hatte ich am Nachmittag endlich die Möglichkeit mit einem Mitarbeiter zu sprechen. Er war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit und hat die km-Angabe umgehend überprüft und korrigiert. Mir ist ein Stein vom Herzen gefallen. Es war zwar alles erstmal extrem stressig für mich aber am Ende ist zum Glück alles gut ausgegangen. Für den hilfsbereiten Mitarbeiter gehe ich von 1 auf 3 Sterne hoch. Ich würde aber gerne weiterhin anregen wollen, dass zukünftig Möglichkeiten geschaffen werden, die Fahrzeuge in einem überdachten und beleuchteten Bereich in Empfang nehmen zu können. ****Ursprünglicher Text vom 11.12.2023*** Ich versuche so sachlich, wie möglich zu schildern was mir gerade widerfahren ist, obwohl ich gerade noch ziemlich schockiert bin. Zunächst die Abholung: ich hatte am „Diamond“-Schalter gebucht um das Fahrzeug nach meiner Landung in Frankfurt umgehend in Empfang nehmen zu können. Der Mitarbeiter war freundlich, konnte mich jedoch nicht persönlich zum Fahrzeug bringen und es mir zeigen, da schon die nächsten Kunden warteten und er alleine am Counter war. Der Parkplatz war im Aussenbereich und nicht überdacht und es war weit und breit kein Sixt-Mitarbeiter zu sehen, der mir das richtige Auto zeigt. Eigentlich bekommt man das auch selbst hin aber es war bereits dunkel und hat stark geregnet. Eine entspannte Übernahme des Fahrzeugs mit eingehender Überprüfung ist so nicht möglich! Hier hätte ich eine Übernahme in einem beleuchteten Parkhaus erwartet! Bei der Rückgabe hat mich dann aber der Schlag getroffen. Ich sei über 6.000 km mit dem Wagen gefahren, was rein praktisch schon einmal gar nicht innerhalb von 24 Std möglich ist! Und dafür soll ich nun über 2.500 € zahlen. Er könne da erstmal nichts machen und muss das so dokumentieren. Leider hatte ich den Km-Stand bei der Übernahme nicht fotografiert aber dafür kann ich anhand der Navigations-Ziele sowie anhand von Zeugen und Bildern nachweisen, dass ich diese Fahrleistung nicht erbracht haben kann. Der Herr bei der Rückgabe meinte auch dass das dann gleich korrigiert würde. Wurde es aber nicht! Hinzu kommt, dass nicht alle Schäden am Fahrzeug im Vertrag dokumentiert waren und ich im Dunklen und bei strömenden Regen keine Möglichkeit hatte das Fahrzeug ordnungsgemäß zu prüfen. Die deutsche Hotline, die ich sofort angerufen habe war schon im Feierabend und bei der englischen kam ich nicht durch. Erst 3 Stunden und einen Rückflug später hab ich wenigstens eine englischsprachige Person erreicht, die mir erklärt hat, dass sie da erstmal nichts machen können und ich abwarten soll, bis die finale Rechnung da ist. Ich habe so etwas noch nie erlebt und bin einfach nur sprachlos und schockiert, dass mir bei Sixt niemand weiterhilft und ich jetzt erstmal eine schlaflose Nacht vor mir habe!

What a nightmare experience with Sixt. My colleague had booked from overseas and arrived T2. I met him and we waited 20mins to be served to be told because he didn’t confirm terminal arrival no car in booked class was available there and have to go to T1. OK we admit mistake but seems a bit unreasonable. At T1 first desk we find is Sixt Diamond desk. We explained issue but lady said she can only book us luxury car (pay to upgrade) and need to go downstairs to regular Sixt desk even though we are waiting so long already. At regular Sixt desk are 4 staff desks, but at least 50 (!!!) people waiting in queue that is about 60-70m long. No joke. Even though they have gold service desk there (I am member) they said we need to go to the back of queue. I estimate will be 90minutes wait so we decide to go upgrade back at Diamond desk. Here we pay extra €185 to upgrade from Tiguan booked to BMW5 (for 5 days) because lady says we need that big trunk for our luggage (3 person). I thought maybe T-Roc she can offer for less would be OK but she says it won’t be big enough. Finally we can go to the car. It’s a “luxury and exclusive rental” - actually is a dirty , unwashed, not cleaned inside. Cigarette ash, dirty carpets, dusty fluff from air vents blow out and even looks like someone been sneezing over the centre console. Absolute disgrace. And guess what, we can only fit two luggage cases in boot. Third colleague’s case has to go on the back seat so seems we paid for “big” car extra for nothing. But we are 2 hours to get car so just go. Will NEVER rent from Sixt again even though I am regular customer before.

ATENTION when renting from SIXT Valencia airport, probably the same policies apply everywhere. I recently rented a car from SIXT, and I am writing to express my disappointment and concern over being charged for pre-existing damages. During the rental process, I declined the full insurance coverage offered. However, upon returning the vehicle, I was accused of causing damage that was already present when I took possession of the car. From the outset, it was evident that the car had numerous scratches and marks. I have photographic evidence and notes detailing these pre-existing damages, which I can provide. Despite this, SIXT has attempted to hold me responsible for these damages, seemingly because I chose not to purchase their full insurance. This practice feels unfair and misleading. It's disconcerting that a reputable company would resort to such tactics. I believe this is an unethical way to encourage customers to purchase additional insurance, and it has significantly impacted my trust in SIXT. I hope this review serves as a caution to future customers to thoroughly document any pre-existing damages and be wary of declining extra insurance. I also urge SIXT to reconsider their approach in handling such situations, as it tarnishes their reputation and damages customer trust.

Nightmare, incompetent and totally corrupt. We ordered a family van months in advance because after an 8 hour flight from Chicago we needed to get our large family, 3 kids with car seats and 5 suitcases home. That’s why we ordered a 8-seat van. Upon arrival, they didn’t have the vehicle we reserved and paid for and no alternatives to offer. After sending us around the airport parking lots to check if our cargo could fit into small SUVs with exhausted kids and no help with the luggage, which obviously turned out not to work size-wise, after an additional 3 1/2 hours they were able to scrape up a beat up 8-seater for us, pulling it from a mechanics workshop because it needed work. Who doesn’t love turning a 10 hour trip to a 14 hour trip because the rental car company is completely incompetent?! — Update! The beat up car was a scratched up van that they pulled from the workshop. It had massive scratches on it and a dent on either side which is why it was in the workshop. They pulled it from the workshop because they had nothing else to offer and warned us it was beat up. We drove straight home without incident and returned it the next morning. A week later they sent us a charge for damages of €1000 for the way it looked when they gave it to us.

Staff misread my HK driving license as PRC, declined my prepaid booking and claimed there is no management on site to escalate the issue. Even though I'm definitely legal to drive here with just HK license, one of your staff claimed <> and refused to reason. I had to escalate the issue to the supervisor and demand to call the consulate to get them recognize my HK driving license. Even then, the original staff member that denied me did not apologize, even argued with other staff using German. After getting the car key and walked 10 mins to the parking lot, turned out my supposed car is missing from the lot. Had to wait for help, walked back to the counter and exchanged for another key. Took me 2+ hours from arriving at FRA to leaving with the car, because of the negligence of your staff. Please educate your staff member about valid driving permits in Germany and tell them to apologize when they mess up and inevitably wasted hours of the customers precious time. An honest mistake is fine but being defensive and rude isn't. Thank you. UPDATE: Sixt charged an additional 17.83 EUR late fee when in fact I didn't return the car late, with photographic evidence to prove. Horrible company.

Good choice. Sixt car rental is in the same location as the other car rental agencies in the Frankfurt Airport. I have been with SIXT for many years so I book my rentals on-line to avoid waiting any longer than I need to. The staff is usually fluent in English but I also have a working knowledge of German which helps. I am usually in there no longer than 5-10 minutes to sign the papers and get the keys for the vehicle. Since I have rented form them in the past I know how to get to where the rental cars are parked. *** UPDATE *** 29 November 2019 *** I have used SIXT since I rented my first car back in September 2009 and have used them ever since when I travel to Germany and need a rental car and that would be a total of 7 times so far. I also may be using them for other rentals in the USA and other places since I like the service and the rental prices. *** UPDATED 26 Oct 2023 *** The location in the Frankfurt Flughafen (Airport) is easy to find and also pickup your vehicle. I also pre-booked my rental online prior to our travels. Thanks, Kevin

Be very careful when initially booking on the app and I mean very careful! Trying to sort out sixt trying to charge me over 200 euros for change that reduces the number days in less then 24 hours booking. All because the application defaulted after checking dates on my calendar. I do acknowledge that I should have checked the dates before. But as soon as I noticed it when it went to the checkout screen it was already too late. Trying to call their phone service, there is no option to talk to a representative. Only pre-approved voice options that route to Them Hanging Up on You. While telling you to use the online service. That is trying to charge for a change that reduces the number of days less than 24 hours. In the past I've used their service and I never noticed this. They have been ultimately a good place to book a rental car from. But for minor mistakes this shouldn't be the process. This tarnishes their own reputation without anyone being involved besides their app.

Einfach nur mies! Am Wochenende als Stammkunde AMG GT63S gemietet. Man hat uns einen aufgeschnittenen Reifen gegeben, mit dem wir fast losgefahren wären. Er hätte sicher keine 250km/h Stand gehalten. Unglaublich das man das Leben der Kunden so aufs Spiel setzt! Der andere Wagen dann auch lauter technische Probleme. Werden die Autos nicht gewartet??? Außerdem, wollte ich vor der Miete zwei Gutscheine einspielen, und auch da sagt die App und auch die Internetseite es gäbe technische Probleme und es wäre nicht möglich. Am Schaltersagte man mir, es lässt sich später noch einspielen über die Kundenbetreuung. Diese schrieb mir dann aber gerade es wäre grundsätzlich nichtmöglich das hinterher zu machen.... Mein Fazit: Nie wieder Sixt! Autos total ungepflegt und nicht gewartet, und man versucht einem das Geld aus der Tasche zu ziehen, und ist dann bei Problemen kein bisschen Kulant! Absolut kundenunfreundlich!

I wouldn't recommend booking through this place as I had experienced what I would consider, a scheme to have customers pay for upgraded vehicles after dropping multiple reservations due to different reasons. My reservation was dropped due to having a delayed flight even though they had already charged me for the vehicle. Then they had told me they only had 1 upgraded SUV left that they could offer which was double the price. The line was extremely long so I felt like I had no choice to accept or potentially get no vehicle. The lady next to me whom was waiting to get her vehicle had explained that she just went through a similar thing. After waiting 45 minutes to get the actually vehicle from another terminal (told me 10 min) I witnessed the same thing happen for someone that used a 3rd party site. Again they had an upgrade available but would not offset the price.

I loved the car and drove almost 3,400km in 2 weeks. But why I'm giving only 3 stars is because the agent said they didn't have the car I prepaid for a few months back and claimed that they would upgrade me to a premium SUV at NO EXTRA COST. After I returned the vehicle and flew home, I get a credit card charge from SIXT for an additional EUR600 for the rental! And the invoice made no mention as to why I was being charged more. So my warning to all those who are going to rent from SIXT, make sure you are very clear on how much you're going to be charged before you sign on the rental agreement. Otherwise, like me, you may end up with a big post rental charge on your credit card with no idea why.

My wife and I were pleasantly satisfied with the services provided by Sixt Frankfurt Airport. We were given a free premium car upgrade other than the one that was requested. The Sixt app was also very useful in providing detailed information on rental agreement, pick up/drop off, damage check sheet and questions were also promptly answered. The car was also very well equipped and well maintained. Billing was also extremely seemless and convenient. Keep up the excellent work, and please continue to provide consumers with the same excellent if not more choices of cars worldwide! Looking forward to my next rental with Sixt!

Das Auto wurde am Montag um 16:01 hier zurückgegeben. Ein Tag später habe ich die Rechnung, darauf steht 10 km mehr gefahren, und 2 Stunden mehr. Bedeutet es für mich ein Tage mehr zu bezahlen. Photo be Abholung und Rückgabe habe ich gemacht, es ist unakzeptabel, wird Anwalt eingeschaltet. Update: eine Woche später. Kundendienst von Sixt war sehr hilfreich, hat Zuviel abgebuchten Beitrag ganz schnell mir zurück erstattet. Muss man aber immer vorsichtig sein, dass immer bei Abholung und Rückgabe Fotos von Kilometerstand und Uhrzeit machen, dann ist man auf der sichere Seite.

I thought using the website from the United States to reserve a car in Germany was easy. Arriving in Frankfurt and finding a Sixt counter was so easy. The line was short while the “American” rental car lines were crazy long. Process was simple. I knew what documents to have and the walk to find the car was simple and short. The car was relatively clean (an apple core in the door pocket). I liked that there was a small ice/frost scraper and a German “parking time arrived” device. All in all a very positive experience. I would rent from Sixt again.

The experience of renting a car is quite satisfying and professional. A bit disappointed at first because I didn't get the car I ordered and then it was replaced with a very large car. Fortunately, finally given the option of a car with the appropriate size, Ford Focus. Car in good condition to drive, comfortable, and clean. Tips, for those who don't speak German, before going make sure to ask the staff to change the language on the GPS device in the car to English mode to make your trip easier and more enjoyable.

Ewig gewartet, dann war das Auto nicht da, Ersatz Auto, da war der Schlüssel nicht da, noch ein Ersatz Auto, da war das Auto nicht da (aber der Schlüssel), vierter Anlauf hat geklappt. Rückgabe war okay, am nächsten Tag, Rückgabe Mail erhalten. Stunde später dass wir das Auto nicht zurück gegeben hätten... Also Sixt am Frankfurter Flughafen ist eine Katastrophe. Und ich bewerte nicht gerne so schlecht. Die Leute waren zumindest freundlich und haben sich vielmals entschuldigt.

Although I paid for the rental 1 month in advance, they told me they didn’t have my car. But I said I wanted a BMW so 2 min later they gave me a BMW 540D wagon. Never had a wagon before but it was actually better. More room for luggage. This was a sweet ride on the no speed limit highways. No issues with the return. They didn’t charge me anything extra. It was a good transaction. Just make sure you take pictures before and after when you return to avoid any issues.

I have reserved the car but the car weren’t available at terminal 1. I need to go to terminal 2 to get one. Need to grab a terminal bus and took me more than 90 minutes, arrive at the counter and pick up the car. I have asked whether I could return the car at terminal 1 without any fee but they won’t allow me to do so. So it was a hassle when returning as well. The car AUDI A4 runs well but found an empty pet bottle inside the car, cleaning not completed.

Miserabler Service heute... 2 Schalter offen, 10 Personen in der Schlange. Können sie mit Ihren Reservierungen nicht entsprechend Personal disponieren? Noch dazu kommt dass in der Etage obendrüber, in der sogenannten Diamond Lounge, ein Mitarbeiter ganz alleine ist und nichts anderes zu tun hat, als uns hier runter zu schicken... Ich bin schwer enttäuscht Sixt. PS: Bin Platinum Kunde, aber das interessiert heute auch keinen. Alle werden gleich behandelt.

I just returned the car yesterday to a competitor and was very dissatisfied. The experience with six so far was like night in day and would highly recommend them at this point. Prices of very good the we did get a premium, but it was their professionalism at the camera that I really respected. Nice detailed email to tell me what I received. I will add this post after I return the car but I same. The office I went to is in the Frankfurt am Main Airport.

Good price for Skoda wagon rental. Car was received filthy without any apparent cleaning from prior customer (see photos). Gas tank not full, though paperwork claimed full. Just returned the car and they're claiming invisible damage of "5cm superficial scratch on driver's front wheel cover." Fortunately I have pictures before and after the rental to dispute any charges. Ridiculous. The car drove well however, so I would cautiously rent again.

Nach einem um stunden verspäteten Flug, kam ich in Frankfurt an. Spät in der Nacht empfing mich ein freundlicher und super gut gelaunter Sixt-Mitarbeiter. Alles ging schnell und ich hatte das Gefühl, dass ich wirklich willkommen war. Ich erhielt völlig unerwartet einen fast fabrikneuen Audi S5. Sogar der Tankservice wurde mir angeboten, um mir die Fahrt und die Abgabe so angenehm wie möglich zu machen. Danke, das war eine tolle Erfahrung

Lange Warteschlange. Und die Mitarbeiter sind entspannt und versuchen sogar nicht, die Schlüsselasgabe zu beschleunigen! Sitzen, quatschen miteinander, lachen. Einer läuft entspannt hin und her. Und hinter stehen 20-30 Leute. Korrektur: Danke an SIXT, dass sie geantwortet haben. Ich finde solche Situationen trotzdem nicht so gut. Das Auto war diesmal gut. Deswegen korrigiere ich meine Rezension von 1 auf 3 Sterne

Simply brilliant, reasonable and highly recommended. Made me forget about previous budget company experiences, would only hire from this company in the future. Every step from pick up to return was smooth and handled by really lovely staff and I got EXACTLY the car model I had ordered, that never happened with other companies before. What those companies regard as "something similar" is not always as expected.

Everything was super fast. I reserved a 4 series and received a iX. They have a good selection of cars but Munich airport has way more options. I loved the iX. When I arrived they had some network issues but my customer service rep was calm, nice and customer focused. She provided me with a great car what I loved! When I went back to the states I bought my second BMW due to the amazing rental car.

Habe mein Auto abgeben und der Mitarbeiter war deutlich überarbeitet. Hat mich gebeten denn Wagen mit Schlüssel im Auto zu parken und das wäre dann okay... Jetzt sendet SIXT jeden Tag eine Mail dass ich den Wagen zurückgeben soll... Immerhin war der Hotline Mitarbeiter freundlich. "Ich sage den Kollegen die sollen den Mietvertrag schließen" führt hoffentlich dazu dass der Fall erledigt ist.

Perfect renting car experience if you're renting from Germany ( collected at Frankfurt and dropped off at Munich airport ) The car was brand new with very easy collection and drop off process , which was straight foreword and paperless. A special Thank you to Yaleaira at the collection desk at Franfurt , who was very friendly and clear . Will definitely repeat the experience in the future.

Booked a vehicle via 3rd party. When we arrived there was a system problem requiring the agents to process everything by hand. They were very professional and calm despite a growing crowd of customers. In this process it turned out the vehicle I originally reserved was unavailable, so at no extra charge I was given a free luxury upgrade. The vehicle was fantastic! Great experience!

Great location and great vehicles. The desk agent that helped me was by far the friendliest and most helpful person I met while in Germany. Would definitely recommend this location and this specific desk agent. I don’t remember her name but we spoke about her recent trip to Greece. Her English was very good which helped me as an American that only speaks English. 10/10

Sehr schade, am größten deutschen Flughafen ist von 5 Schaltern ein einziger besetzt. Angeblich Personalmangel. So gewinnt und hält man seine Diamond Kunden jedenfalls nicht. Der einzige Mitarbeiter war dafür äußerst freundlich und kompetent, ebenso der Supervisor der dazu kam. Personal 5 Sterne! Bitte liebes Sixt Management stellen Sie Personal bereit.

Habe an dieser Station mittlerweile zwei mal gemietet und habe zwei mal eine falsche Rechnung bekommen! Jedesmal "Verspätete Rückgabe", dafür wurde dann eine Gebühr berechnet. Lustigerweise bei beiden Fällen diesselbe Person dran Schuld. Es ist einfach unglaublich, am Flughafen herrschen Höchstpreise für Mietwagen und dann so ein ******!

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff, especially Sarah who helped us get the perfect car! After waiting hours for delayed plane, and delayed baggage, Sarah brightened up our day getting us through quickly (without feeling rushed), getting us water, and offering us tips for our visit to Frankfurt. Everything was smooth. Anita, the desk agent at Frankfurt Airport, was friendly and helpful. Booking online, payment, collection of key and return of car was hassle free. If I were to nit-pick, on returning the car, the signages at Munich Airport could have been better.

Must say that all seamless but did not get the vehicle I booked long time ago before my arrival which is either an Audi or BMW. Downgraded to a China Car! Will try to avoid Sixt the next trip! Paying more end up getting a cheaper car type!

Ich bin regelmäßig hier und es gab noch keinen einzigen Fall, in dem ich unter 40 min Wartezeit mein Auto erhalten habe. Es ist einfach nur miserabel, dass an so einem großen Standort lediglich 1-2 Schalter besetzt werden…

Everything is good - the car and the serivce. The slowest part is to unblock the gaurantee from my credit card. Returned the car for 3 days and my card has still not been released.

I had two cars, both cars had old damages registered, but not fixed. Both cars are old models. One of cars was providing noisy sound from back side and one site was broken.
