AMAZING!!!! I generally do not post reviews but Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Designs deserve a review so I am taking the time do so. For those that like it short and sweet, Stuart and his team are the cream of the crop. Very professional, no pressure, extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and reasonably priced. I worked closely with Blake to design an engagement ring and he made the process exciting and fun for me. After getting computerized videos of the designs, he ordered actual molds for me to look at all at no cost. He kept me apprised through the whole process and at no time hounded me about making a purchase. It was absolutely refreshing and I wish I had found Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Designs years ago because I probably would not have waited so long to propose. For those that like a long read, let me tell you......don't judge a book by it's cover. I had been to over 10 stores looking at engagement rings before pulling up in front of Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Designs. I had been to very well known stores and smaller, not so well known. My fiancé really likes filigree, so I wanted a ring that had that incorporated in the design. Literally every store I had been in before going to Stuart Benjamin the sales representative would look at me like I was speaking a foreign language when I would tell them I wanted a ring with filigree. I would have to explain to them what I was talking about and pull up pictures on my phone. Not very impressive since I'm having to educate someone about their own business. Anyway, when I pulled up in front of Stuart Benjamin, I literally thought to myself that the place looked like a store you would see in a mall. I almost didn't get out my car and just drove across the street to a more well known store but figured I was already there so I might as well go in. After going in, I was immediately greeted by Jeff and Blake. They were easy going and very friendly. I was prepared to educate them about filigree and show them pictures of what I was talking about but when I said I was looking for an engagement ring with filigree, they both immediately knew exactly what I was talking about. I WAS FLOORED. Not only did they know what I was talking about, they pulled out a couple of cases of rings and started looking the rings over and pulling out rings with filigree. Additionally, they pulled out a catalog from a ring designer they work with who has been buy antique ring molds / stamps which was another option for me. Ultimately, I ended up designing a ring that day with the two of them and they ordered computerized images for me. It took less than a week for me to get the video. After reviewing the video, I had some changes and spoke with Blake who submitted the edits for another video to be made. Blake also had some suggestions / edits that he believed would enhance the rings appearance and offered those for me to consider which were spot on and I incorporated those into the design. Once we believed the ring design was finalized, Blake ordered an actual cast mold of it so I could see it in person. There were two versions I was trying to decide between and asked Blake if it would be possible to order both. Without hesitation, Blake said no problem. Once I finalized which ring design I was going with, Blake worked with me on selecting a diamond. At no time did he try to "upsell" a diamond. He readily admitted there are certain characteristics of a diamond that you don't need to spend the money on for a high grade in that area because it truly does not affect the way the diamond appears. At no time did Blake pressure me to buy anything, so much so I wasn't sure he wanted my business but then I realized that was his no pressure approach which was refreshing. When the ring came in, it was more than I expected and my fiancé loves it. She can't believe I designed it. Save yourself the headache of dealing with all the amateurs out there and deal with the professionals at Stuart Benjamin & Co. Jewelry Designs.

First, Jeff was extremely helpful and informative on getting my fiancé's ring. He didn't try to upsell me or mislead me. I told him what I needed, and he showed me many options within my budget. He was upfront about the store policy on returns and recommended she not wear the ring in case she wants to return it, otherwise there would not be a full refund due to cleaning it and polishing it, which is exactly what happened after I proposed. When we returned to get my fiancé's engagement ring, Jeff was there again ready to help and get her the perfect ring. Second, Amanda was equally amazing with me selecting my ring. She showed me many types of metals and even showed us a website where you can customize the ring and the site tells you how much you'll be spending as you're customizing. Amanda was also outstanding in communicating with me over the phone with getting the ring ordered. You see, she didn't pressure me to buy the ring in the store. It was more of a "take your time, customize, and let us know what you want" approach. This is exactly what I look for in a seller when I'm looking for any product. They respect your time and want you to stay within your budget, while also showing you their fantastic products. This was a excellent experience! Mr. Benjamin was always upbeat and very friendly every time I walked into the store. Same with Jeff and Amanda. They are some of the friendliest salespeople I've ever dealt with. Very refreshing in this world of greed and hustle and bustle with getting a sale. Jeff and Amanda were also very informative about their lifetime annual ring cleaning and polishing policy, which is a really nice perk. I couldn't be more happy with the staff, product, and services. Blake was incredibly nice and professional. I came in on a Saturday to get my wife's ring resized. He looked at it under the magnifying glass, 4 smaller stones, 1 large stone, and 12 stones around the ring halo. He quoted me a price I was okay with, and I had my wife come in a few days later to actually size her finger and resize the ring. He even polished the ring up for her to see prior to her coming in, which was a nice touch. Two weeks later, it's done, beautiful. My wife mentioned that Blake didn't remember her at all (which was interesting considering I can't imagine they have hundreds of people walking into the store every day or anything), but she was charged approx. $50 more than what I was quoted. Few days later I call the store a little upset not understanding the price difference. He mentions that the quote I received was for under 4 stones on the ring... The ring that he physically looked at, under a magnifying glass, that clearly has 4 large stones, a large, main stone, and 12 smaller stones around the main stone halo. Okay, that's understandable if this was a phone quote, or if I hadn't physically come in and spoken with him a few days prior to my wife coming for the resize (he didn't remember me either btw), or if he hadn't looked at the ring under a magnifying glass. In either case I'll give them credit because they refunded me the difference between the quoted price and what we actually paid. My only issue is the lack of attention to detail when someone physically comes in and uses their time. Had I been quoted correctly initially, I likely would have gotten other quotes before making a decision. I likely still would have gone with the business since they're extremely professional and the labor itself was great.

Stuart Benjamin & Co. is 5 stars! I can't say enough about the service I received from Jeff and Stuart. It all started with my wedding ring of 36 years (37 if you count the year of engagement) in December. I wanted to re-work the ring to add a larger center diamond and change the side diamonds to blue sapphires. Jeff really to the time to look at my ring and understand my goals for it. He honestly told me that it wouldn't be the same ring when I was done and it was beautiful and balanced as it was. I opted to have it re-sized (I hadn't worn it for six months), change the side stones to sapphires and some refurbishment. This entailed separating the three rings, sizing independently and re-joining. Stuart, Jeff and I all agreed on the size. When I came to pick it up, it was the size agreed upon but my hands must have been cold that day...and I have been holiday eating (salt and wine) and it was too small. Stuart's first words were "we're going to make this right". He sent me home with a sizing ring of the new proposed size to wear for the weekend just to be sure. While I was there, I started talking with Jeff about a custom ring I had seen. He then showed me a ring he had designed with many of the elements I was looking for. That became the basis of my ring and we took it from there. I took some diamonds I had special attachment to, added a few colored stones and a nice center stone. They detailed the price of each component of the ring and I thought it was very reasonably priced. It was delivered on the date promised and is beautiful! I give my highest recommendation about this store for honesty, service and pricing.

Jeff is hands down the reason this was the best experience. So much knowledge, enthusiasm, and care (in how he treats his designs & his customers). Coming in with just an inspirational image, Jeff did a wonderful job translating it into reality and providing expert advice along the way. For example, educating me on the durability of certain designs vs others and how to best structure the design but keep the style I wanted. Truly, Stuart Benjamin & Co. knows their stuff. I had come there on a whim after attending an engagement ring bonanza at a nearby store. The bonanza felt overwhelming, cold, and really just had sales people with shallow jewelry knowledge pushing the latest product NOT truly considering my needs, use case, preferences etc. It felt like I was asking for a circle but they kept trying to fit my circle into their square needs. After feeling overwhelmed, unheard, and confused - coming to Stuart Benjamin felt like a blessing! Jeff wasn't pushy, he asked about how hard I am on my hands, etc. He didn't judge the things I liked, he didn't push me toward the new 'trend' in fact he helped me understand the realities of some trends and how some sacrificed quality, causing issues for customers 6 months after purchase. If you want deep knowledge, thoughtful collaboration, and quality jewelry then this is the best place to go! This is my "go to" place for anything to do with jewelry. Several years ago my husband and I needed our wedding rings enlarged. I researched, read reviews, and asked friends for personal opinions. Stuart Benjamin is the only jeweler with personal recommendation and not a single negative review. They did a beautiful job. When my in-laws passed we took an antique pocket watch to them to see if it was possible to make it run and keep time again. The answer was 'maybe' but they did it. Again, beautiful work. So, when I wanted something special for my husband - an anniversary band with wood inlay - no problem. Yet again, beautiful. Our latest visit, just this week, was to have our daughter's college ring resized (I was concerned because it's engraved inside) and, of course, no problem. After shooing her home, I asked about earrings for our daughter with her birthstone. Absolutely no problem helping me find just the right design that would suit her and then having them made. Just picked them up. Exceptional quality and service. Never any "selling" or pressure or the feeling that you're wasting their time if you don't make a purchase right then. This is the neighborhood jeweler of my youth transplanted from NY to San Diego. Thanks, guys, for everything. I'll see you soon about something for our older daughter with her birthstone. :)

My husband and I found Stuart Benjamin in 2016 when looking for wedding bands. We wanted a place that was small and intimate after going to some of the other bigger box jewelers and not having any luck. We met Jeff Teel who was and still is amazing. He helped design a custom wedding band for me and to choose a band for my husband. He listens, is courteous and is just a pleasant man to work with. Over the years we discovered that I am a bit reckless and have had many visits to Stuart Benjamin to repair my engagement ring ( which was purchased elsewhere) and replace diamonds that have “mysteriously” disappeared. Jeff typically helps us and the repairs have always been completed quickly, never going more than a week without my ring. Most recently I lost yet another diamond and we finally decided that maybe we should make a new band.. without diamonds for me to lose. Jeff again went through all the options I had and helped me pick out the perfect band to mount my stone on. The new ring is beautiful, it was done in less than a week and as always it was a pleasant experience. We love our relationship with Stuart Benjamin and are glad we have a small family jeweler that we can trust and go to when the need arises. Everyone is always so nice and they always remember us which makes us feel important.

I didn't know a lot about the process of having jewelry made just for me. My friend Helen recommended Stuart and his team. I called to find out more and make an appointment, if needed. Jeff was the person who took my call - He was very friendly, took his time to explain the process to me. When we went in a couple of weeks later, we had to wait to talk to Jeff for a bit - he was helping someone else, and making sure she got all of her questions answered - and then, it was our turn, my fiancee and I got full attention from Jeff, for as long as we needed. He looked at our ideas, and worked through the rendering and 3D printing just as explained, I came in twice to check the waxes that he printed, got to meet Stuart, and then the ring was made - ahead of their projected schedule! Just EXACTLY what I wanted! A beautiful ring ... in a setting that will withstand my career. All the staff were super friendly, gave excellent customer service, and answered questions I didn't even know I had! I 100% trust and would absolutely recommend Stuart Benjamin. It was a fun and easy process, and I have a ring that I'm wearing with Delight!

What an absolutely amazing experience from start to finish! I first came to Stuart through a friend’s referral looking for an diamond engagement ring. Stuart took the time to get to know me, what I was looking for, my price range, and proceeded to give me the run down on how diamonds are graded and priced. He showed me diamonds with higher grades, lower grades, and even let me take some outside to see them in the natural sunlight. He even allowed me to come into the store before his normal operating hours so we could go over diamonds without other customers around. There was another time I came in when the store was busy, and he politely excused himself from the customer he was helping to personally greet me. Stuart has been an established jeweler in the San Diego area for years now and truly has the customer’s interest in mind. I look forward to stopping by regularly for ring cleanings and saying hi to Stuart and the team. I will be wholeheartedly referring my friends to Stuart Benjamin if they are ever in the market for an engagement ring.

Stuart and his team did a fantastic job starting from the moment I first walked into their store looking for an engagement ring. Unlike other stores I've been to, I never felt rushed, pressured, or like I am just another customer. Stuart's team was accessible and answered countless questions in person, via phone, and via E-mail. I began with Stuart when he worked in the shop downtown, 42 years ago. We were both younger then! I appreciated all of his help and patience with our wedding rings. We reconnected many years later at his own shop in Hazard Center. He is truly a master of ideas and design. He carries an enthusiasm and love of his craft, along with his knowledge and expertise. (Also, kudos to Jeff and the workmanship of Sang.) I trust Stuart’s judgment, as he is always honest with his assessments. I know whatever the design is, it will result in outstanding quality. Unfortunately, my original wedding ring was stolen. Stuart helped me to “mourn” the loss and created a gorgeous new setting! He has also given gold and silver credit for old settings and transformed the gems into new pieces to enjoy. Stuart is THE jeweler, and the one I rely on!

Back in March of this year (2023) I brought in a few pieces of fashion/costume jewelry that I loved but needed repair desperately. A couple pieces I hadn’t been able to wear for more than two years because I couldn’t find any jeweler in town either able to fix them or without asking a price worth more than the actual piece! Stuart Benjamin didn’t blink at being presented with fashion jewelry, including some truly unique pieces, and found solutions to even the trickier items. The price was fair and the wait time to effect the repairs very reasonable. A small shop with friendly and helpful staff, laidback atmosphere, and a steady stream of customers dropping and picking items up both times I was there. I will definitely be coming back, for repairs and when I next look to purchase fine jewelry.

Ive been meaning to write a review for a while now because I’ve had an amazing experience each time I’ve come in. Found a beautiful pair of earrings for a birthday gift, and then eventually my wedding ring. I was helped by Blake both times. He is patient and clearly knows what he’s talking about. He showed me (and let me put on) so many rings just to make sure I knew which was “the one.” I went into the store several times before making a purchase to try on different styles, and every time I would leave there was no pressure to make a purchase. That was relieving!! They are efficient and provide great communication. Prices were slightly higher than what I saw at other jewelers, but I knew walking away I was getting the best quality, and of course, my forever jewelry. Can’t recommend enough!!

They were simple designs which usually translate to less expensive. The professionals we worked with, really helped us review great designs and never tried to up sell us to something we didn't want. It resulted in wedding bands we absolutely loved. When I lost my ring on a vacation trip, it was so easy to come in and get refitted for replacement. They were able to take care of everything seamlessly and ensure the new ring was a perfect fit. The service was very personable and it feels like you are just walking into a small town jeweler that cares how you are feeling.

I was looking for a jeweler to set a new stone in my engagement ring and to also create a custom necklace with my old stone. When I brought in my ring, I was taken care of by the owner himself. Stuart was very helpful and friendly. In fact all of the staff members I interacted with during our visit were super friendly. Stuart made it super easy to create a plan for the custom necklace. The prices were very reasonable for what I wanted done and my ring looks so amazing! I was nervous to pick it up because I am extremely picky but I am honestly so impressed. I feel so relieved that I chose to bring my ring here. I cant wait to go back for a custom wedding band!

Decided to treat myself to a piece of jewelry for a year’s worth of hard work; I deserved it...I earned it. Had stopped in previously and purchased simple earrings and had a positive customer experience. I knew what i wanted, which was a custom opal ring being my birthstone.. i had seen random rings while out and about, but I wanted something very specific and remembered they made custom pieces. Stuart showed me options, spoke to me in detail about the design process and with his guidance I made a decision. First time at Stuart Benjamin and it was a wonderful experience. I was getting a vintage ring appraised and Christine was very polite and professional. While I was waiting for the appraisal, Stuart showed me around, made me coffee, and showed me books on how my vintage ring was made. I decided to get a bracelet and another ring sized and when I picked them up 3 days later, not only were they the perfect size but they were more sparkly than I’d ever seen them! They also have very unique and beautiful pieces of jewelry that I’d never seen before so if I ever decide to splurge on more jewelry, I will definitely be back. Thank you Stuart Benjamin team :)

My experience at Stuart Benjamin was extraordinary. I knew nothing about diamonds or the process of acquiring an engagement ring. Jeff and the rest of the team were incredibly patient and walked me through the entire process and detailed what defines the quality and price of different diamonds. Although I initially shopped around at other jewelers, I chose to go with Jeff and his team in order to create the ring that worked best for me. It was an easy choice. They were responsive, thorough, worked within my budget, and created a beautiful engagement ring that I know my girlfriend will love. I recommend this company 100%. They are awesome.

I've been a customer of Stuart's for probably 40 years and have never been disappointed. His merchandise is top-of-the-line, varied and fairly priced. If I don't find exactly what I'm looking for on display, I can always find it in one of his numerous catalogues. He's also done repairs and re-working of older jewelry for me, and again, I've never been disappointed. He's also helped me a couple of times with insurance claims after two robberies we've experienced. He and his staff are very friendly and personable remembering details about one's taste and life style. I couldn't recommend Stuart Benjamin & Co. more strongly.

I cannot begin to express how happy I am with my experience with Stuart at Stuart Benjamin & Co. I recently inherited my mother's wedding band set. Stuart helped me design a new ring with her beautiful diamonds and it was as if he was reading my mind. He created a piece of art that was exactly perfect for me. And with a number of smaller diamonds left over, he created a beautiful, and also perfect for me, "diamonds by the inch" necklace, with her diamonds set in bezels all along a beautiful chain. The service I received was beyond exceptional, and I can't wait to begin designing our next jewelry project together.

Wow! Our experience here getting our wedding bands was incredible!! The customer service was A+. Jeff helped us a lot and we had some help from Blake as well, both who were extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We looked at a couple stores and nothing compared to here. The men’s band section was SO much more expensive than any other store, which my fiancé appreciated. They didn’t have the exact band I was looking for, but I wanted to give them my business since they were so great. They were able to find the band I wanted and have it shipped in for me to try and eventually purchase! Couldn’t recommend enough!

I called during the week to get information on appraisals, they were quick and answered all my questions. Was able to schedule an appointment for that Saturday. Upon arriving all staff members were friendly and accommodating. Christine was able to do the appraisal for both my engagement and wedding band in an hour and a half. Additionally she sent over the information to the insurance company and simplified the process for me. Overall super impressed with the professionalism. Even had some bands shown to me while I waited and can’t wait to go back with my fiancé to pick out his wedding band.

I recently purchased an engagement ring, and I would highly recommend this jewelry store to the novice engagement ring buyer. I walked in uneducated the first day and walked out feeling like an expert when I was done. Jeff Teel was the jeweler I worked with who earned my trust quickly. Jeff was genuine and patient and did an incredible job explaining the process of selecting a diamond and setting. There was absolutely no pressure, no upselling, and no hidden surprises. The process took me about 4 or 5 visits, and each visit was a pleasant experience. Most importantly, the ring is phenomenal.

Stuart is an amazingly creative jeweler. I lost my main diamond and definitely did not want to purchase a new one. He asked if we had some jewelry that was just sitting in our safe.. and sure enough we did! He then made us a custom platinum prong to hold my pear shaped tanzanite. We will forever use Stuart for all of our jewelry purchases. Our oldest daughter also purchased their wedding set too! They customized the rings to meet their needs.. no pressure & a very personal experience. 1 kid married and 2 to go :) Thank you Stuart & team for taking such good care of us!

I went in to Stuart Benjamin to have a family heirloom ring sized down (2.5 sizes) and cleaned. Not only was the customer service superb and friendly on all accounts, but the ring was finished quickly and has never looked better. It's like I got a completely brand-new, sparkling, gleaming ring. And it fits perfectly. I can't stop looking at it. Affordable pricing with an excellent experience. This place was close to where I work, so it was convenient, but I will be definitely come back here for all my jewelry needs - even if it's out of my way. The best!

We have been using and loving Stuart Benjamin Jewels for eleven years now. Jeff and Stuart always take care of us. Jeff designed and made our wedding rings to our specifications; clean and polish them each year as well so they keep looking brand new. One ring lost a diamond a few years back; they replaced it at no charge. I have had a coworker go to them for a special ring. From what I heard all were happy there too. Stuart and Jeff and all the remainder of your team, you all seem to work in an environment that you enjoy and are very proud of.

Stuart Benjamin is extraordinary. They make and sell only the highest quality, beautiful pieces. They also provide exceptional customer service and are extremely trustworthy. We have been coming here for 20 years. We have purchased jewelry from them and had them reconfigure an existing ring into a new, updated ring. Their work is amazing and they stand by it year after year. When I pick up my rings after leaving them to be cleaned and polished it’s like picking up brand new rings. Stuart Benjamin has excellent customer service. They go above and beyond to please their customers. I visited the shop about 6 times looks for my dream setting, then narrowing down my choices and picking the right color gold. Each and every time I was greeted with a smile as the knowledgeable staff walked me through each decision. Ultimately I ended up with a gorgeous ring that I never want to take off. I’m so glad I happened to stop by and randomly browse all their lovely jewelry . I’ll be back for more timeless pieces.

The customer service is here is 10 out of 10! They take the time to personally teach you about jewelry and the rating scale for diamonds. They were super helpful when it came to picking out the perfect ring and they always kept my budget in mind. They had tons of options and made the entire experience fun and something to look forward to rather than overwhelmed. I walked away with exactly what I wanted and got a very high quality engagement and wedding rings. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

I can’t say enough about this place. I was lucky enough to be helped out by Stu himself but all of his staff are knowledgeable and sociable. I needed a few watches to be repaired. I don’t trust just anyone to replace a battery in my watches let alone do a full repair. The price he gave me was more than competitive. Let’s be honest, even though price is important trust is even more so. If you’re looking for any type of new jewelry or need a repair done give Stu and his team a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

Stuart Benjamin’s is such a great jewelry store. Their diamonds are so beautiful, and love the settings you can order from them. My husband upgraded my wedding ring, and I started trembling and shaking when I seen it. I was there to help him order it, but it was so incredible how beautiful it is. It’s been a little over a year, and they just cleaned it and dipped it for me at no cost. We will never do business anywhere else! Our original rings were purchased from them years ago. Stuart Benjamin is the absolute best jeweler that I have experienced. They willingly took on a replacement diamond that the primary jeweler refused responsibility for, and saved my engagement. I have used this place many times in preparation for my wedding. Although my engagement ring is from a different company, they happily sized and resized it for me until we got the perfect fit. Because my experience was so great, naturally I went back to get my wedding band. The service was over the top and they found a perfect wedding band to pair with my ring. They also did a great job matching up the rose gold colors on both rings. I will be back for all my future jewelry needs.

Came in for a ring resizing and Stuart and his awesome associate Jeff took the time to answer all my questions and made sure I was satisfied with the results. I also learned a lot about diamonds from them. The ring for my fiance fit perfectly and Stuart also offered to polish her ring a few days before the wedding! This a very professional and quality jewelry shop where they truly want you to find the perfect setting and stone. We never felt any pressure or rushed through the process and Jeff was wonderful with any changes I wanted to make to the design prior to ordering the final rings. I would give 10 stars if I could!
