I love DnA salon! I've been doing my hair with Adelice Miller for over 7 years now. She is the only hairstylist who can deal with my curly, tangled hair (I usually do hair cuts and highlights with her). When my big day was about to come, I did not think twice before booking DnA services for me and my bridal party (even thought the DnA salon is based in San Francisco and my wedding was to be held in Santa Cruz... So glad that they accepted doing all the trip down to SC!) So here is how my "Bridal" experience with DnA went, step by step: Scheduling: I first contacted Greice Silva, who is the DnA person (bridal- customer relations?) in charge of scheduling trials, finding the right bridal packages for brides and providing quotes. Greice is very calm, polite, organized. She always returned my calls very fast and answered to all my questions and emails. I'd say she is the bridge between the bride and the the DnA staff (important, so you don't have to call directly to the hairstylist or make up artist, who are normally very busy with clients). After exchanging some information with me, Greice came up with a package that suited my budget and needs and built a portfolio for my bridal party. TRIAL: Greice scheduled a trial for my hair and make up (highly recommended for brides!) about a month before my wedding day. I provided her with a couple pictures that I found online, mixing and matching hair up do styles. When I met hairstylist Adelice, she looked at my portfolio and quickly came up with a beautiful style for me. I LOVED IT! The same goes for Adelice's daughter, Thay Freitas, who was in charge of my make up. I described to Thay all the aspects that I liked and disliked as far as make up styles, as she took detailed notes. I confess that I was particularly concerned with make up since I have dark skin and it is usually difficult to find a make up artists that "respect" the tone of my dark skin. For my surprise, when I met Thay for my make up trial, she had already "investigated" my skin tone (thanks Facebook photos for this!) and she had set the perfect make up foundations, shades, blushes for my skin tone. As far as lipsticks, she had several options for colors, however, I told Thay that I "dreamt" about a red-orange lipstick color that I had seen somewhere – which she did not have on my trial day. No to worry... On my wedding day, Thay showed up with the exact lipstick color I was talking about (which she found at Mac store after doing some research, she said). Wow! Such a personalized service! Wedding day: So the DnA professionals arrived at my wedding venue on time, and got started on styling my bridesmaids and family members. Should I mention that Adelice and her staff are bilingual (Portuguese and English) which made members of my mixed "Brazilian and American" bridal party/ family very comfortable as they communicated their desired styles with the professionals... ? Small details count, and I was a happy bride to see my guests happy and satisfied! On my wedding day, the DnA team even accommodated last minute requests and saved the lives (or should I say "appearance") of some guests who had not previously booked hair / make up services. Even with the last minute "add on services" they performed, everything run really smoothly, from beginning to end. I can't thank enough the DnA staff for making my day extra special. A the end of the day, for my surprise and happiness, my hair up-do and make-up turned out to be even more beautiful than they were on my trial day. Adelice, Thay and her team accompanied me, retouching my hair and make up, until minutes before I walked down the aisle. Amazing professionals! I HIGHLY recommend DnA team for your wedding!

I have been getting the Chi Thermal Straightening done with Adelice for the past 9 years. I cannot remember what life was like before I started getting my hair done with her. I had the most dry, unruly, curly and voluminous (not the good kind of volume) hair- I wish I had a picture handy to post here. I used to spend about two hours between blow drying and flat ironing when I washed my hair. A friend recommended me to see Adelice about getting a chemical straightening hair treatment. I was a little skeptical on my first visit. I had never done any kind of chemical treatment in my hair in the past and I was not sure how my hair would react. Also, it didn’t help all the horror stories that people would tell me about chemical hair treatments. In my first appointment, Adelice took the time to explain about the different kinds of treatments options for my hair. We talked about what kind of results I wanted to see, how straight I wanted my hair to be, how often I would have to return to get it retouched, and the kind of care I would have with each of the treatments. By the end of the consultation, I felt pretty confident in my decision and I decided to try the Chi Thermal Straightening. The process is pretty long, but Adelice always made me feel comfortable, relaxed and has always been so friendly and welcoming that the time just flies by. I was hoping that my hair would be more manageable after the treatment, but it completely surpassed all my expectations. My hair looked AMAZING! It was straight, bouncy, shiny and healthy. I get it re-touched every 6 months. For the first four months of the treatment, I could literally just wash my hair and let it air dry and it looks perfect. Nobody believes me when I tell them that my natural hair isn’t straight or that I get it straighten because of how natural it looks. For the last couple of months, all I have to do is blow dry the roots (but it literally takes me 20 minutes). After my wonderful experience, I recommend Adelice to my mom and sister – each of them gets a different chemical treatment with Adelice, which for me is the most wonderful part: she really makes sure to try to find the best treatment for YOUR hair. Also, I have had several friends get their hair done with her and they all love her. Adelice is so amazing that I cannot imagine getting my hair done with anyone else. I moved out of San Francisco in 2010 to Miami and I lived there for 4 year. I would literally fly in San Francisco every 6 months to make sure that I was getting my hair done with her. Now I have been in LA for the past couple of years, and I still make that drive to San Francisco every 6 months. I just got my hair done this past weekend and once again I am so in love with it! My wedding was a few weeks ago and I had Salon DNA with me for my big day. I can only say great things about them. The trials, the attention and patience to details, and above all, the service were all perfect! To give more details about the process, a few weeks before the wedding we did the makeup and hair trial. Luanna (makeup) and Adelice (hair) took all my input and worked with me at every step until I felt comfortable and happy with the results. I tend not to like hair salons and every time I did professional makeup before, I simply hated it (the result just never felt like it was me)! But, with them, the process was super smooth. On the day of the wedding, I and other three people got ready at the wedding venue. Luanna and Adelice arrived on time and we had a blast getting ready together. They were our source of calm, fun, and extra beauty (of course!) during that whole morning. They went from one to another, always being super calm, never on a hurry, listening to and responding to all our requests. Luanna and Adelice were very professional, but also gave personal touches, helping us here and there, sharing experiences, and stories. In sum, they were a pleasure to be around. My friends loved the experience and the results. And I loved the result. The makeup and hair were perfect. Exactly (exactly!!!) as I imagined and wanted. Their attention to my requests and their amazing skills are the reason for that. Luanna is an amazing makeup artist. She has great taste and understanding of your needs. I’m secretly trying to find an excuse to get a makeup with her again (and this tells a lot!) And Adelice is an amazing professional. I have done highlights with her before (which, by the way, I highly recommend!), so I knew already that she is great. But I was surprised with her ability with different types of up-dos as well. Each one of my friends came with a different idea for their hairs and she pulled all of them off beautifully. Luanna and Adelice were above and beyond all my expectations. I have been a client of Salon DNA for many years now, and I highly recommend it. Their day-to-day services and their wedding packages are top quality, with the right balance of professionalism and personal touch. It took me way too many years to finally write a review.

Don't even want to give a star. Most terrible experience. Adelice Miller burned my hair and scalp yesterday. I came back today hoping she would take responsibility for the bad job. She left me with a bleach for more than an hour yesterday. She neglected me working with another client. My hair is damaged now and smell with chemicals. I am loosing my hair. It's very dry and weak. My scalp is burning. I am using aloe gel to calm my scalp. And today she threatened me with cameras and court. She called me a liar. And she has not even inspected my hair. She made a comment she has experience of 45 years and there is no way she would make mistakes. "No one is PERFECT!" Looks like it's very hard for her to admit that she made a mistake. At some point I felt that I was used as a money source. They charged about $400 to destroy my hair and accuse me of lies. EVERYONE! PLEASE BE CAREFUL coming to this place. One day they are super nice to you. Another day they just damaging and insulting you accusing of lies. And you left to suffer emotionally and physically from their terrible experience.

I have worn my hair in a natural for 6-8 months using WEN Pomegranate on my natural hair. I decided to go back to flat ironing my hair I found that my hair had become really thin and very very damaged. I cut about an inch off the dry frizzy ends before I realized that the damage went up the full length of my hair shaft. After leaving an appointment with my dentist I took a chance and just walked to the salon with plans to make a future appointment. When I walked into the salon I had no idea what cut or style I wanted. I only knew that I needed a cut and the Hot Keratin treatment. Adelice did an amazing job on my super dry thin damaged hair. .Adelice just knew what I needed and proceeded to cut and create a beautiful chin length bob. I love it !!!! After one visit with Adelice, my hair is soft, shiny, and manageable. It has now been a week. I'm sleeping in a satin bonnet, when I wake up and the cut and texture have held. I only need to flat iron my bangs. I highly recommend Adelice, the keratin treatment and the DNA Salon. . Thank you so much Adelice!

This is the best salon I have ever been in San Francisco! I did the ombré and balayage in my hair and no one seemed to get the right colors for me. I did try to retouch and change the color but nothing worked. I went to the salon DnA and as soon as I entered the salon they already knew my problem. I explained how it's been hard for me to find the right colors and to make my hair look natural. In less than 30 min they fixed everything and I left that place gorgeous! They are true professionals, they not only got my hair color to look great with my skin and eyebrows but they also gave me tons of healthy tips to keep my hair perfect. The cherry on top of this experience was that they also have their own line of hair products. I got their hair mask with all natural and healthy oils for my hair, I absolutely loved it! This has been a true great experience, I still can't get over of how gorgeous my hair looks !!

I am very grateful to the professionalism and dedication of the whole team lead by Adelice Miller. Since then, I have been a regular client and I can testify the incredible ongoing training Adelice sets with her team. She is diligent updating all the staff with the new trends in hair treatment; she also invites other high level professionals to keep the team tight and in line with the latest beauty and fashion tendencies in hair cut, treatment and color, make up, cosmetics, facial, nails, etc. When you cross the Salon DNA's door you are always welcome by kindness, thoughtfulness, beauty and high level of professionalism. It was a lovely place, everyone was very sweet, and they absolutely killed my haircut- however when I went in for and booked a cut and gloss, my hairstylist did not speak much English, and the receptionist helped translate, which wasn’t a problem at all on the surface, but that led to me being essentially conned into a baby-lights making my haircut cost over double what I originally had budgeted and planned for and take double the time, because it would obviously take more time. I didn’t say anything because by the time I realized this couldn’t be a gloss, which I have never had done before, I was already fully foiled and waiting my 30 minute processing time. So while it does look INCREDIBLE, they completely blew my budget and I will not be going back due to their lack of clarity and feeling like I was fully conned into spending an extra $200

All my visits to DnA Hair and Spa never disappoints me. I go to DnA at least once every five weeks to touch up my roots. Adelice Miller is a master at making my hair color look simply fabulous. Every time she changes my hair color, it looks so natural that people think I was born with it. Little do they know I bought it :-) From the first moment Adelice worked on my hair I was hooked. She is totally devoted to her craft. If she's not available to work on my hair then Thay comes to my rescue. I simply love this establishment. The staff is always courteous and helpful. Upon my arrival I'm promptly greeted and a beverage is always offered. If you're looking for highly skilled professionals and optimal customer service, go to DnA, I promise you, you'll be coming back over and over.

WOW JOAO - but you can call him "John" is truly a gift from God. Not only did I feel like I was in good hands, I was able to express my concerns and ideas through pictures and he was able to make me feel completely confidant and at ease that my hair would be transformed to the most beautiful rendition to my desires! I don't say or feel this often but I truly left with the feeling of wanting to laugh more with him, I enjoy to promote exceptional professional artists and people on social media @Joaohairstyle and I really enjoyed this part! He was so sweet and sincere and made me laugh so much that next time I see him I want a selfie. This is how utterly impressed I am and I adore him as a stylist. He is QUEEN. I cannot wait to see him for my touchup in 3 months!

If you have type 4 hair and are looking for a Brazilian blowout, please DO NOT go to this salon! I have been getting Brazilian blowouts for over 10 years with no issues, and tried this place out after moving to SF and being referred to them by another salon - my biggest regret ever. My hair is heat damaged beyond repair and has been falling out non-stop since my blowout 6 months ago. My hair has completely lost its thickness and length and the breakage won’t stop no matter what I try. Even though the salon assured me I was in good hands, the stylist barely knew what kind of comb to use on my hair - it’s clear they’re only experienced with looser curl patterns. I’m heartbroken and just hope to stop this from happening to someone else!

I was so worried going in with Afro curly hair that no one would be comfortable (that has been said to me by many stylist that they aren’t comfortable). It is my first salon I’ve tried and I can’t wait to go back and see Gina. She cut all of the terribly split ends off, and she was kind and delicate and the head scratching from the shampoo session was amazing. She added product that would allow my hair to be moisturized, shiny and so soft. She’s my new favorite and I look forward to getting my hair cut by her in the future!!!!! Moving to a new city sucks..Finding a new stylist sucks even more...I bought one of those Living Social deals for a Brazilian Blowout at Salon Dna with Matthew G...The salon was clean and Matthew although was running a bit late he came over to introduce himself to me and said he was going to be at least 10 more min and to my surprise i was in his chair 10 min later.i must admit i was not really looking forward to getting my Brazilian Blowout done....They take so long and they're so boring yet but my time with Matthew was so fun and he did such an amazing job I love my hair its soft shiny no frizz and all in less than 2 hrs...I so so happy I've found my new salon and stylist...yeaaa

I’ve been going to Adelice for years. She is the absolute best at Keratin treatments. My hair has never been shinier, longer and healthier since Adelice began doing my Keratin. She is also so good at keeping my hair well conditioned. Her hair cutting and styling skills are great. I’ve never seen anyone work so well and quick with the flatiron. I love that I can get in and out quickly and know my blowdry will last. Very convenient location too!

DNA is a high end salon. The staff are very friendly. I do my nails with Maria. She is fantastic. Adelice, Luana and Thaynara are amazing to blow dry my hair. Daniel at Salon DNA and Dritto is a very skilled and experienced colorist and stylist. He has worked with me on my color to achieve all of my goals and more. He is excellent at cutting hair.
