I'm going to preface this review by saying I'm an early twenties Asian male, just in case this helps others. Let me put it simply. All my life I've been self conscious of my hair, and had been known as the guy who always wore a hat. After I got an office job, I figured, well, it's my first job, I should get a good haircut. My mother had heard of this place, and I decided why not, I'll give it a whirl. All I said to the man cutting my hair was "go for whatever, I'm not really sure what I'm looking for". He did but disappoint. Never in my life had I gotten a haircut that had gotten as many compliments as the one I got here. Not only that, but the man, Zee, is extremely amicable and interesting to talk to. I love talking with him about how the business is going, because he provides a unique outlook of the world around him due to him being a young business owner. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you're like me and get concerned about *only* 5 star reviews about a place on Google maps, let me tell you that this place is well deserving of its high rating.

I've been to many different hairstylists and barber shops in the Bay, yet I'm here always coming back to Zee. For men's hair, I've had Zee cut my hair bi-weekly for the past two years and not once was I ever disappointed. He listens to what you're specifically looking for and he gets it done quick while also perfect. If you're looking for a clean fade and awesome conversation, don't look anywhere else. What's amazing is that he also specializes in women's hair. Whether a touch up or color services, he has it down. Zee has been amazing at keeping my girlfriend's hair looking nice and healthy. I am glad that Zee opened his own salon, as it was about time. He has the value of a great hairstylist and proof can be seen with his repertoire of satisfied clients.

After seeing the same stylist for 10 years, I completely took a chance by trying out Zhi's salon for the first time. I went in thinking I would just get a simple trim (8 months of quarantine hasn't done nice things for my hair) -- but Zhi was so warm, friendly, and encouraging that it inspired me to go for a big change and chop my hair short. I have never gotten so many compliments on a cut. He did an incredible job layering and adding texture to my straight hair so that it looked so much sexier and more playful than a simple bob. I even felt like Zhi worked to make this cut match my personality better than my previous haircut. I really love this place, and for such a great value, I won't be going anywhere else anytime soon! I've had my hair colored by multiple salons and I genuinely never really LOVED my hair after getting it done until I went to Zhi. I showed him a few pictures and he already knew what to do. I would recommend this salon to practically everyone if I could. He's really nice/funny and I will definitely be coming back again. Anyways I got money pieces and my under part dyed, he also cut my hair which was very fast and efficient. Zhi genuinely seems like he cares about his clients and makes everything very affordable! If you’re thinking of getting your hair done here, you should definitely go!

Been going to Zhi for years now! Post and pre pandemic, simply the best service and quality of work out there! The atmosphere is very calming and relaxing nature. Got my hair cut and dyed here multiple times, each time leaving with a smile on my face! There is simply nothing I can think of that can make each experience better. Zhi will do what's best for you and your hair health rather than making money killing your hair. I can't thank Zhi and his team enough for their wonderful services! Simply amazing!

Wanted to give this new place a try and boy was I impressed. He had reservations but still fit me into his busy schedule. He recommended a perm for the hairstyle I wanted to get and was honest about the time it would take for my hair to grow and be conditioned to the hairstyle. I appreciated his honestly and would come back here for sure. Very fun guy to talk to and get to know! If there's one person everybody should get to know, it is their hairstylist / barber.

Z is like your private style advisor. He follows the trend and knows what’s the best style for you. I also learnt a lot of hair products information from him, which helps me to save huge money on trying out different products that won’t work for me. I know it might sound cliche, but just give Z a chance to change your look and you will find it’s truly life-changing.

Zee is the man to go to for a quick & solid fade. Oh and a cool dude to talk to if you want a conversation during your quality haircut. I've been getting my hair cut here for over a year. Z knows about my hair conditions and always gives me good suggestions when it comes to styling it. He is also very genuine, we always talk like friends. He makes me feel comfortable and relax when I'm there. I would recommend anyone to get their hair done here.

This is a long overdue 5 star review. Zee is THE best! My husband and I have been seeing him for years! We even hired him as a stylist for our wedding. He is professional, friendly, fast, and our cuts are always consistent. We moved from SF to Concord, but still make the drive to he city to get our haircuts.

Zhi is such an amazing stylist. I went from walking in with dry, damaged hair to silky soft waves. It seems impossible but Zhi did it. My hair is naturally wavy and thick, plus with coloring, perms and straightening, it has really been through hell. With Zhi's professional touch, all that damage is GONE!

Zee is truly a talent hair stylist! He always takes time to listen and provide the hair styles and services to his clients. Zee has been cutting my hair for more than 4 years. Z has been cutting my husband and my kids hair for years. He also cut my hair and color. This is a one stop shop. Very family friendly. My kids will not go anywhere else besides coming here for haircuts. This place is clean and use really good hair color and products. The best in the area!

Zhi was recommended to me by a coworker years ago and I haven’t gone anywhere since! Never gotten a bad cut by Z and don’t think I ever will. Rock solid service. Have recommended many other friends to him and happy to see that he’s striking out on his own. Love the new digs.

Great at communication. I had a covid scare and was able to easily reschedule once it passed. The stylist who cut my hair was quick and informative about what would suit my frame best. Would recommend and come again. About $75 including tip for a medium length haircut.

Zhi hits all the details you want, need, or didn’t know you should have. Rounding the corners after a fade and trim, shearing some extra fluff off the top, styling the front so your hair falls iba way so it looks good even without product, the man is an artist.

Z Salon is great - mens haircuts are super clean and quick. Usually get a super short buzz and fade with trim on top and always comes out consistent, even and clean. The facilities and interior is also clean and hair stylists are friendly / easy to talk to.

Z is amazing, he's the only person in the city I trust to cut my hair and the only one who can make a short or long haircut look great!! (I included before and after pics.) My boyfriend and I both go to him, I highly recommend you try going to him too!
