I do not like to be a negative Nancy so to speak but i had to share my negative experience at this store. This is not my first time visiting this store. I bought mattresses from them in the past so I am very shocked and upset about this experience this time around. Let me start by saying that the other store visits i dealt with a friendly man, i believe the owner of the store, and he helped us find a mattress no problem. This time was different. I walked into the store in the evening I would say after 4pm and was met with a confused stare by a woman with short dark hair cut to her shoulders that was near the counter. She said hello to me in a hesitant sort of way and i asked her if she worked there since she was wearing casual clothes (a bright red vest) with no employee logos or markings to indicate she did. I believe she was the store owner's wife. She said yes so I proceeded to ask her if she had any furniture legs. Once again I was met with a blank confused stare a she asked what those were and i as i began to explain she shook her head no before i could even finish. I was quite confused myself but carried on an asked her did she happen to know where i could find some to which she said no, shook her head and laughed awkwardly almost in a dismissive way as if my question was ridiculous. I could tell by her body language and her speech that she did not want me there. She acted as if I had accidently got blown into the store with the wind or that I was there to commit some misdeed. She stood with a rigid stance with her arms firmly folded and she even stepped back away from me when i gestured to her about the height of what a furniture leg would be like. I looked around and seen different people looking around the store and being helped by store members but I stood dumbstruck at this woman's horrible customer service and ignorance about a very basic furniture product. I looked around the store again and realized I was the only black person and judging by her cautious and standoffish behavior she was feeling threatened by me somehow. Eventually another lady saw was happening and cut in an told me I could find the item I needed at target. I think she was another customer filling out some paperwork. I thanked her profusely because the other lady was not going to move from her spot to help me in any way. If a customer has to do your job for you then you are not a good employee lady. I still cannot understand what I just experienced at this store a few hours ago. My speech was informative, cordial and upbeat. I work in customer service myself and understand these slight nuances that help put a customer at ease especially if you are working in sales, so I myself was confused at her behavior. I always am courteous to all employees I meet because I know they are just doing their job but I felt downright discriminated against and this had me so upset I had to have a family member go in the next store I visited with me because I was afraid of this happening again. The only thing I could think of for her behavior is because she was Asian ( sorry if this offends anyone I did not know her nationality maybe Chinese?) she feels black people are a threat. I know the Asian community is going through it with the crimes being committed against them, especially towards their elderly but the black community is suffering too. Instead of hurting each other why can't we come together as a community and help each other. I would like the owner of this store to know he should not have people on the sales floor who are rude, discriminating and incompetent about their job duties because that does not make sales. I was not going to write this review at first but I could not let this lady get away with this and I hope it saves other people from a horrible experience like I had. I am tempting to report this to the better business bureau. Thank you for reading.
This is a typical example of a business conning hard working people out of their savings by pulling a scam. I was an unfortunate victim. I was sold a mattress that felt pretty nice in the warehouse. First they gave me a different mattresses that was a few hundred dollars less. After exchanging it for what seemed like a new mattress, i overlooked the stiffness of the mattress ( the one on floor was soft and comfortable) within one months I started feeling springs in my back. I brought it back and was told that the manufacturer decides to repair or replace. I looked at their website and that is not the case. In fact they don't even make a mattresses like the one I purchased. Talking to a nearby mattress store owner I was informed that the owner of furniture city was good friends with a mattress repair guy. The mattress was returned even stiffer and more uncomfortable and my back is hurting. I am seeking a lawyer now. Also the main salesman is rude , condescending and will steal and lie to make a sale
On a trip for my new apartment's affordable but good-quality dining table. I stopped by this location instead of going to Costco. I was impressed by the amount of mechanization the store has been carrying with them, along with unique designs, styles, materials, and colors. It was overwhelming for me to make a final decision. Thus, the sale manager, Ms. Kelly, helped me pick the right dining table with dark solid wood and sleek lines. Overall, the shopping experience was fantastic, besides picking the table. A free store tour is available. I highly recommend people visit City Furniture to shop for their future home improvements.
I bought a couch from them over a year ago. I went into the store a number of times during the last trimester of my pregnancy and they we’re very patient with me. The store staff and the delivery-men were friendly. They have reasonably priced items that are a decent quality. Just be warned that their parking lot is pretty small :). Overall great service and a good selection of products.
I went to many furniture places for a bedroom set but this store really caught my attention they had very nice options to choose from, good pricing, and fast delivery They have quality furniture and very friendly staff. Way better store compared to those brand companies. Check them out!
This store waited almost 2 weeks for some chairs and the person never spoke to me to know about my chairs and they were very rude and wanted to sell some used chairs for the same price
Low quality, overpriced, carbon copy furniture packed in to the small, warehouse-style space as if the owners believe customers want to play 'the floor is lava'. Not worth a visit.
Fast friendly service when you find someone to help you . It has a very wide variety of furniture to chose from and price wise very competitive with other stores.
Good prices, good variety, they deliver even to Milpitas. Has dining sets, bed sets, and sofas.
Great doing business with them, would differently recommend, friendly staff, delivered on time.
