I called Sharps Automotive after my car started making an unusual noise near the radiator fan. Dustin answered the phone, asked me a few questions, and told me that although they were slammed, I should bring it by. I walked into the shop and Dustin greeted me. The phone rang, he apologized for the disruption and spoke to the person for a moment. After getting off the phone, he mentioned how much he appreciates the person who is normally there to help customers. His true appreciation for one of his employees/teammates was all I needed to hear to know I wanted to support the business. He dropped what he was doing and checked my car out. After maybe 5 minutes of inspection, he told me to leave him the keys and that he would have it fixed by closing time. He called me 30 minutes later and had already identified the problem as well as one that was going to be an issue in the not too distant future. Dustin gave me options for how to proceed and then had my car fixed within a couple of hours. Other auto shops I called couldn't get me in for days and required me to leave my car with them all day long. Dustin got me in on short notice, identified the problem quickly, and then fixed it (quickly) for a fair price. I will use Sharps Automotive for all of my vehicle repairs moving forward.

Live three hours away, was down in Indy for the weekend. My truck blew a spark plug out the side of the motor on a Sunday night. With no shops open I only had reviews to go by. This place didn't let me down. I dropped it off with my keys and a note, then went home hoping that they could do the work, and do it at a fair price. I was warned by a local mechanic friend that this could be a very expensive repair, and it would probably take the shop a few days to get to it, but not here. What I feared would be well over $1000 turned out to be only $260. I was hoping I would be able to pick it up by the end of the week, but instead I picked it up the next day do to their speed. I felt so much trust in them because they could of told me anything and in my situation there wasn't anything I could do but accept it, instead they took the time to explain everything to me and didn't try to do anything that didn't need to be done. I felt so much trust in them that I then gave them a list of things to do. They did a great job fixing my truck and giving it a tune up. They got it in quickly, did a great job at a great price. My only concern is now my new mechanic is over three hours away from my house, but to me it's well worth the trip. Will be doing business with you again. Thank you

Having just moved to Indianapolis I was skeptical of any mechanic. Well, I've never been more grateful than when I found Sharps. The location is easy to spot and conveniently near Marian University. I recently took my car there for a power steering leak and Dustin was not only knowledgeable, but his customer service was impeccable. I asked for him to go ahead and look at any other problems that I've been recently having (i.e. battery, overheating). Dustin checked on everything and called me expressing what concerns he had, what he can do to fix it, and pricing. However, nothing he did was excessive and I genuinely feel like he wanted my car to perform it's best at a price that was very competitive. All in all, if you're in the Indianapolis area and need a mechanic, Sharps Automotive is the best.

Everyone at Sharp's was extremely kind, honest, knowledgeable, and trustworthy. I had come to them for a second opinion after visiting a chain auto care store. Sharp's mechanic explained honestly and clearly what was wrong with my vehicle and explained exactly what was going to need to be fixed for safe functioning. I felt the mechanic was honest and open with what was wrong-no fluff, no extra, and no scamming. They are way beyond more trustworthy than the chain auto care shops! The chain I went to said I was going to have to fix 3 times as many things and the chain store was going to charge me over $1,000 MORE than Sharp's did (every feature/part was cheaper at Sharp's). Definitely recommend Sharp's Automotive for a quick, efficient, honest, thorough, and reasonably priced auto care!

I’ve been going to Sharp’s Auto Repair for about a year for small to medium repair jobs -- oil changes, A/C, brakes, shocks, and other miscellaneous problems that occur regularly on vehicles. Each time (over 10 visits), the overall experience has been great. The problem is diagnosed correctly and an estimate provided, then the repair is completed efficiently and at a lower cost than many other places that I had previously been using for auto service. The manager, Dustin, is very knowledgeable and is accommodating to my schedule. Many times, the work is done over a lunch hour and I’m on my way back to work (with a little prior scheduling). The location could be closer for convenience but don’t mind driving the distance for the great service ….. A gem of a business in Indy!

I had my girlfriend take my 2012 Honda Civic in because several warning lights had recently lit up in the car (VSA, emissions, power steering). Dustin called to tell me there was nothing wrong with any of those systems, but I was in need of some spark plugs and a new engine cylinder. I agreed with him because my engine would rev on its own while idling. He quoted me at $181 over the phone. However, my girlfriend said he charged her $282. I called him back to ask about the change and he apologized for the miscommunication. Dustin was serious about making amends and told me he would make it up on future visits if I decided to return. His honesty and customer service was refreshing. I will be returning to Sharps for my vehicle repair needs in the future.

A absolute rip off! Charged me $125 to tell me I need a battery. Told me $53 for looking at my car. I decided i didn’t want them to get my battery and put it on for $412, so when I get there they tell me it’s $125 instead of $53. Basically charged me for 2 hours of labor and did nothing. It don’t take 2 hours to tell me my car need a battery. THEY DO NOT TELL YOU UP FRONT HOW MUCH A INSPECTION FEE IS!!!(They make it up as they go) Because there is noway anyone would pay that. Hell you can take it to the dealership for that price. Beware they charge $107 to look at your car if they don’t do the work! (They charged my daughter $75 just to tell her nothing was wrong with her car) so it’s not a set price!

I've heard nothing but great things about this place, so I decided to give them a shot, and I'm not impressed. I take my truck in, and they tell me I need a new transmission and elaborate on what's wrong with it. They don't tell me anything but the astronomical price to do just that. I'm not a car guy, and I would assume many people they talk to you aren't Car Guys either, so when I get the paperwork, I would at least expect a detailed explanation why it's a transmission and not just because it won't move when it's in gear so basically all I got was the price tag of $4,100 plus whatever for a new transmission I'm not even sure if that included the install or not.

Honest people. All that you could possibly ask for in a mechanic. I walked in and asked for a brake job on the rear end because I was hearing squealing when I applied the brakes. To me this was a sign of needing new drums, shoes, and all that goes with it. I was quoted at $230+ and was expecting to pay much more. Mr. Sharp called me later to tell me the drums just needed cleaning and adjusting and charged me a measly $60 for labor. I was very impressed by their honesty and I imagine many other places would have been happy to take my $230+ without telling me the real issue. Thank you kind sir. I will be back (hopefully not soon though).

I call on 6/30 to set an appointment for 7/1 @8 am to get my brakes done. I drop off the vehicle at the exact time. I do not get a call until 12:30-1 pm to tell me they did an inspection, and all work would total to over $1600. Problem #1 all I asked for was brakes!! Well moving forward! I call and say I will be to pick up the vehicle(NO WORK DONE AT ALL). That’s when I’m told about the $102 inspection fee(THAT I DID NOT ASK FOR) So all and all.. very horrible experience! They don’t do what you ask! They will charge you for a service they choose to do! And then question you like you are insane

Brought my 1996 F-250 to Dustin after the engine seized. He gave me a great quote over the phone that beat his competitor's prices by thousands of dollars. He was very quick to respond to my calls and questions and finished the job before the timetable he gave me. My truck drives like it did 20 years ago. I have since taken the same truck back for other miscellaneous fixes and each time is as great as the first. They have a lifelong customer in me. In a day and age in which we're inundated with overpromises and under delivery, it's nice to know businesses like Sharp's still exist.

Add my name to being a fan - Competent, friendly and fair priced is Sharps. They put in a new clutch and flywheel on my 07 Ford Focus, then couple of weeks later had to put in a starter as well. Old girl drives great now. When the starter died I was right by that Burger King there and just pushed it over to the shop myself. I was sweating and huffing and puffing, lol. Trish, their office manager, offered several times to get me water, etc. Very nice of her. This my go to place for now on. (it's busy though, make sure you call and schedule ) Everyone is keeping their car nowadays.

I would recommend Chris to anyone having car issues for a lifetime!!!! He has not only kept his word but went outta his way to do a good on my 69 Buick skylark every time I bring her in lol (she has a name ) . As a women I have never had the feeling of being taken advantage of because I don’t know car stuff with Chris. He’s a really good person & you can tell that by working with him. His shop is really nice as well as really clean ....not like the many other local shops I’ve been to. Although he’s usually busy he is definitely worth the wait .

I brought my car in to get the air fixed. They told me what they would need to do and how much it could possibly cost. The were very knowledgeable and friendly. When they called me back to tell me what was wrong and how much it was more than what I was expecting. He explained to me exactly what was wrong and what they would need to do to fix it. I appreciated that he explained everything to me. I didn't feel like they were trying to take advantage of me. I would recommend this place to anyone getting their car fixed. They were GREAT!!!

Sharp's Automotive is one of the best, if NOT THE BEST automotive and repair shop in Indiana!! They take their time, which I LOVE because no one likes a rushed job, they are thorough and effective with their work! Had the clutch and related components replaced along with the flywheel resurfaced on my FJ Cruiser. Service was fantastic, honest and upfront with possible costs, was around 35% less cost than dealership. Truck was completed within 2 business days and can't speak highly enough of them. Truly a honest mechanic experience that's missing with these franchise 'mechanic' shops. Stop by and at least get an estimate. I dont trust just anyone with my FJ Cruiser and will continue using them!

Its hard to find a good mechanic that you can trust. I found that in Sharps Automotive!! They were straight forward honest did a great job replacing my motor and exhaust on my 2014 Silverado. It literally runs better than when i got it new. I had problems from the start with Chevy and their mechanics. Thanks to Sharps those problems are a thing of the past. I checked around and their prices were almost $200.00 cheaper for the same repair.

Awesome service! I came in from out of town and heard a strange noise in my front end. Dustin checked it out without an appointment by taking it for a test drive and looking at the problem. He assured me the car was safe to drive home and when I asked how much to repair, he offered a very reasonable price. Still deciding whether to do it now or wait. The shop is spotless and comfortable. If I lived here, this would be my go to mechanic.

I took my 2010 Mercury Grand Marquis in for multiple problems with the electric controls in the driver's door. I believe the employee's name was Justin and when the problem didn't appear to be what he originally thought it might be, he did more digging online. What he found was a wire that had become detached and appeared that wasn't properly done at the factory. He reconnected it and all of the issues were solved. Great job!

I always get excellent service at Sharp's Automotive. They are straightforward, honest, use top quality parts, and have fair prices. The shop is clean and neat, too. I will continue to recommend that people choose Sharp's as a cost-effective alternative to a dealer for service. I have been using them for many years for all of our cars. They do simple stuff to the most advanced. Glad to have them in my "toolbox".

Prices are competitive and reasonable! Staff is very friendly. Actually prices are great! This WILL be my mechanic from now on! They had given me a quote and even after taxes, it was $30 cheaper than the quote they gave me. My jeep is running even better than it was before I started having certain issues with it. I chose this repair shop because of the great reviews and the close proximity to where I work and I was not disappointed! Dustin was very easy to work with and was up front about the cost of the repair to my vehicle. After calling around to other shops in the area, the price I was quoted was also more than fair. I will definitely bring my car here again if I need any more work done.

We were coming from 2 hours away and I had called several places, they were by far the most accommodating and understanding. They ordered the part our vehicle needed and had it ready when we arrived. They charged exactly what was quoted, with more than reasonable labor, and let us know what would need attention soon even though they knew we weren't from there and wouldn't be back.

They always get to the issue of my vehicle problems. They have not charged me for fixing things they previously fixed. They have paid for my towing and made sure very issue and concern I had was fixed. I drive from Cumberland to here because they are so good at their jobs. I thank Chris and Dustin for everything they have done for us. You are forever my mechanic.

My Toyota Tundra was having eclectic problems I took it to several mechanics. Finally I found Sharps and they fix the problem when a couple hours. They were friendly and gave me my veterans discount. I was most happy because I have been trying to get this problem fixed for over a month and Sharps fixed it in just a few hours.I would recommended everyone go there

They recently diagnosed that my radiator was leaking and charged me approximately $700 to change it. After a week, my radiator was still leaking. I went back, told them, and they rudely told me that they can't explain why it is still leaking and that was it. They didn't offer any other solution or refund my money. I am so sad.

Shop was amazing pricings or labor and part are way cheaper then dealerships and few other shops. I went in to get my struts done and it was done in one day. Literally when I was being charged almost 2k at most places but they charged me $600 cheaper. They also explained everything and didn't push anything to get done.

The service was good enough but they sold my personal information to SiriusXM without my consent and that is a major trust violation to me. After getting my car serviced I began getting direct mail to my home from SiriusXM referencing my name, car and my recent visit to Sharps, so the information was clearly given.

They are GREAT !!! Going home to Virginia from Illinois - wheel bearing in drivers' front tire went out. Said they could fix it right then - would take about 1 1/2 hours. They had it done in less than an hour. Pricing was real reasonable. I would definitely give them all my business if I lived in the area ! ! !

Friday check engine light came on. Not wanting to drive all weekend with it on I called Sharps as they were close to where I am working. The lady said they usually work by appointment but if I could leave it they would try to squeeze it in. By noon they had it fixed for a reasonable rate. Thanks Sharps!

I don't normally post reviews. I had taken my vehicle to another mechanic shop was told it was an internal engine issue, then I took it to sharps and it was actually only spark plugs and a coil so therefore they saved me a lot of money when they could have told me it was something else.

Went in for a second opinion due to passenger side brake making noise. They were able to both diagnose and fix the problem all within a day. Very professional and prompt. Cost was way cheaper than first place's estimate. Will definitely be returning to Sharps for my automotive needs.

Dustin was friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. He diagnosed my problem quickly and put in extra effort to give it a long-term fix--all done quickly and for a great rate. Sharps may well be the best experience I have had with an auto repair shop, and I would recommend it to anyone.

I've been to this shop before. They generally do good work. Never really had an issue with repairs. They were able to get in right away, and I was out fairly quickly considering the work I had performed. Prices are reasonable. They are closed on the weekends.
