I had a strange experience here. I came in for what was supposed to be outpatient knee surgery and ended up staying the night because of severe pain. 1) The staff is very kind and helpful. This review has nothing to do with the staff being sub-par when it comes to being kind, attentive, and helpful. 2) I had knee surgery that ended up being more complicated than originally anticipated. Prior to surgery I spoke to the anesthesiologist and asked him for something called a nerve blocker, which basically numbs your leg and allows you to feel little to no pain when you wake up. The surgeon requested it during surgery as well, but the anesthesiologist refused to provide it. This cause me severe pain making it impossible for me to actually go home that day. The nurse called him asking him to come back and give it to me, but he said no. I ended up staying overnight in the hospital adding to my discomfort and cost of the procedure. 3) When we came to the decision that I would need to be admitted, they wheeled me down in my temporary bed and left me in the hallway for about 30 minutes because someone made a mistake on which room was available. Again, the pain was severe, so this put me behind schedule on medication causing even more pain. 4) Once I was finally in the room, it seemed like no one knew why I was there. Each time I saw a nurse they said something different from the last person. One person recommended X for pain management, and the next person basically said that would kill me. I'm 33 and insanely healthy.... the cycle wouldn't have killed me. That scared me, so I went off the management that was helping, just to be in more pain. I asked to be put back on the management that was helping so I could at least get through the night. 5) Because the surgery was supposed to be outpatient, I was determined to get the pain under control and leave the next day. The hospital seemed to want to keep me for the entire weekend, even though there was no reason for me to be there once my pain had been managed. $$$$$$$$ No one could give me a time frame as to when I would be going home, so eventually my husband and I just started insisting that they discharge me by 2pm since I could take my own pain Rx killers under supervision at home. 6) They gave me all sorts of shots that weren't necessary and refused to let me use the toilet in my room and suggested they put in a catheter instead. We were able to refuse a few shots and a nurse finally agreed to bring me a portable commode so I could use the toilet without having to go the extra 5 feet to the bathroom and could avoid the catheter. 7) They did let my husband spend the night because I was so scared. That was a huge help since all the nurses were very small and I didn't quite trust them to lift my leg or help me out of bed. He was able to do a lot of work to help me and keep me comfortable. 8) In the middle of the night, two employees brought an empty bed into my room. There was plenty of space for them to maneuver the bed without disrupting me, but they crashed the empty bed into mine, again causing a lot of pain and waking me up. Crazy. 9) When I finally saw a doctor the next day she seemed to have no clue why I was there and said a bunch of things that went against everything the surgeon had told me the day before. She wanted to keep me in the hospital for two more days ($$$$$$$). That is when I finally said no and insisted I be discharged. 10) My surgeon's PA came to see me, and said I looked great, pain was ok, and I was safe to go home. Yay! That was the first person who took my stress level down and made me feel better. That was after 22 hours of being in the hospital. Since this was my first hospital experience, I'm sad that it wasn't better. I will do everything in my power to never go to a hospital again. Again, the nurses were so sweet and kind and really seemed to do what they could to help with the pain. The disorganization and obvious lack of communication made the experience really negative.

If I could give less than one star I would. I was sent there by ambulance last week due to pelvic pain and constant vomiting. They treated me as if I was some slum or drug user. I was left alone in a room for 5 hours until they decided to tell me that I was going to be admitted to the hospital. I asked for a sonogram because I knew I had a ruptured ovarian cyst. They did a scan and said no you don’t. They they didn’t tell me what I had or what was wrong with me. They put me in hospital room 315 and proceeded to pump me up with antibiotics which they wouldn’t tell me the reason for and morphine. They left me alone in my room with the door shut and wouldn’t come help me when I would call on the button. I had to scream at the top of my lungs for help. I had to learn to take out my own IV because nobody would help me so that I could get up to use the restroom. They told me that the doctor comes in the morning and the first morning he came they had me on so much morphine I couldn’t form a sentence. I had so many questions. I had a daughter who’s 8 at home that I wasn’t expecting to be away from. That night I was able to speak and I kept asking why am I here? Why am I getting these IV’s and antibiotics? They would NOT give me answers. I asked to go home they said I couldn’t. The next morning I was prepared for the doctor and refused any sort of pain killers. I asked him what’s going on? I need an obgyn. He said no you don’t. You have a colon infection. I said that is impossible I am here due to pelvic pain and throwing up and fever. He said he was the doctor and not me. He then proceeded to make fun of me. I have lip filler and he said “are your lips filled? Do you want them to look like that? Are you sure your not having an allergic reaction?” The rest of the staff laughed. I explained that I needed an obgyn and he said no we don’t have one here. I asked if I could go home and he said no you need antibiotics and potassium and magnesium. I kept saying no I don’t. I’m not here for a colon infection. He left the room and the nurses proceeded to give me more fluids in my right arm which had already began to turn purple and was numb. I screamed in agony with the potassium. I said please no more I can’t feel my arms they are so swollen. They then said we need a new vein. I screamed and said no more! They held me down and looked all over my body for a vein. They used my foot to give me more potassium but at that time I had already gone through so much trauma I just went into a state of shock and laid there while they pricked and stabbed and did whatever they wanted to me. I have never cried more in my life then those days there. I had to call my attorney when I became lucid enough to understand that they would keep me there for as long as they could if I didn’t get out. She called demanded my release and I was set free: I followed up with my obgyn who said without a doubt I suffered from a large ruptured ovarian cyst on my right ovary. I am still so shocked over what I went through at Sherman Oaks Hospital. As someone new to LA it broke my heart that I felt so abused, mistreated, and most importantly misdiagnosed. Do not ever go to this hospital. The doctors and staff should all lose their licenses for either partaking or watching and doing nothing.

This is the worst hospital I have ever been to. I went to the ER after having severe abdominal and back pain for about 5 days. The pain was so intense that I would burst into tears while the pain would come and go. I used to restroom in the ER and noticed I had broken out into a rash on my entire body. I was seen my Michael Stephens, the Physician's Assistant. While he was questioning me, he would cut me off before I could even answer. He wouldn't even look at my rash. He was so incredibly rude at one point I told him that he was being rude and I felt like I was being interrogated and had done something wrong. He apologized for being impatient and in between my sobs I told him I understood and let's start over. The ONLY person that was incredibly nice and helpful was the nurse and I wish I had her name. She resembles (but is much prettier) than Kim Kardashian. Michael came back to tell me the results of my test. I was happy to hear that they were all negative but was still in the dark as to why I was having such pain. My husband came in and started asking some questions. Michael literally walked away while he was in the middle of a question. He never said that he had to go, he just walked away and made it obvious that we were bothering him. Once the Dilaudid kicked in (they administered it into my IV ) my pain had subsided. I hadn't eaten all day so I had a tiny bag of chex mix from the vending machine with a drink. Michael came back in and told me "you seem to be just fine. I mean, here you are sitting here eating chex mix and drinking. You don't seem to be in any pain." I was not pain free but was being pumped with the strongest narcotic through my veins. I did not need to be questioned if I was in pain. At this point, I had been in there for 7 hours. I asked him about my rash and he just shrugged his shoulders. I had to leave. I couldn't stand being there for another minute. Michael told me to find a doctor and they couldn't help me. It was obvious that they couldn't help me but I am quite sure that my bill will reflect otherwise. There was a male nurse that was also incredibly rude. I was trying to find a drink of water and he just looked at me like he was a zombie. I don't see how people like this can keep their jobs. If you do not like people, do not go into the customer service business. People are your business.

I want to start out by saying many of the nurses and the X-ray technician were very wonderful and helpful to me during my time at Sherman Oaks ER. However, I experienced very poor care from my doctor and some of the other nurses. I came because a fainting spell triggered by a POTS flair up and was having trouble regaining consciousness. I was unable to stand or sit up. My roommate called an ambulance and I came too on my way to the hospital. While they were preparing to draw blood, I had warned all of the doctors and nursing staff that I got nervous and panicy around needles. They proceeded to bring someone in who I thought was a nurse, but they were teaching her how insert the catheter. Because of my issues with needles, I tried my best to ignore what they were saying so I wouldn't start to panic. The person who was inserting the catheter did not do it properly, and continue to try and force it in to my arm after it had fallen out, causing me excruciating pain. I began to have a panic attack and told the doctor that, to which she responded that if I did not calm down they would have to do this all over again, which caused me to panic even more. If the person who was inserting the catheter was a student instead of a nurse, I DID NOT ever consent to being used as a test subject for a student, and never would have because of my history with needles causing panic attacks. From then on I faced intense discrimination from the staff for my mental health issues. When I reject another chance to insert the catheter, I was handed discharged forms. I was forced to sign a Discharge Without Doctor Approval Form and then was escorted out of the building without a ride home, while experiencing difficulty walking and at risk of fainting, and the door locked behind me. I was not escorted to a safe area, but was sent out the side door next to an unlit street with no phone signal. I was no longer able to stand or walk, and was supporting myself against one of the hospitals locked glass doors so that someone could see me if they walked by and I could call for help. No one ever did. I was finally able to get ahold of my mom, and she called me an Uber to get home.

Here is the Thank You Letter that I wrote for the hospital: Dear Sherman Oaks Medical Staff, (Laurie, Kathleen, Dr. Andonian, Carlos, Shanelle, Precious, Kasandra, Jamella, Gil, Tatyana, Adele, Arpi, Jowell, Kiara, Arick, Sahana, Heidi, Cecile, Allen, John, Elenor, Joseph, Lovely, Maria, Nicholas, Jina, Dani, Lia, Amie, and Ashley)... As I experienced it, nearly dying was a privilege… I was taken to the ICU Tuesday May 5th and remained under your sublime care to my discharge on the 12th. At 32 years old, it was my first time at the hospital. When I regained consciousness Thursday 5/7/20, I had the most surreal and intense feelings of disorientation, fear, and anxiety. I could not grasp whether I was in a Nightmare, deceased, or if I had lost my sanity. The treatment I experienced while being nursed back to health in the ensuing days - as I recollected my bearings and mental faculties - were indelibly moving, profound, and dignified. I am infinitely grateful for not being made to feel an iota of shame or humiliation as my self-reliance was temporarily on leave. I was counseled, supported to walk, move, shave, change, go to the bathroom, eat. All the help I received - from people I never met - were beautiful gestures of kindness and unfailing correctness. I apprehended innately that the way I was being treated was not a product of mere duty or professionalism, but flowed directly from the wellspring of personal decency of every medical worker that nursed me... and it made all the difference in the world. I felt the full texture of compassion from the hospital and recognized it as sacred. I am doing very well since my memorable week of convalescence and spiritual growth. Your kindness was powerful and transformative. You are personal heroes. I will never forget. I hope all of you stay healthy and continue to dazzle the world with your humane and vital work. - especially during the trial of this global pandemic. Your favorite patient ever, Alexander V.

Unless you're being transported here by ambulance, the order in which patients are seen is NOT based on severity of illness.A young lady who got there AFTER us (who appeared to have a bad cold) was seen before my 70-year old sister who's blood pressure was through the roof. Once we got in to see the triage nurse and ER staff, all were knowledgeable and attentive and recommended my sister stay overnight for observation. It went downhill after that. MAINTENANCE: I looked out of my sister's 3rd floor window, which was nailed shut, and it was covered in spider and cobwebs. Yuck. The maintenance worker mopped the floor with such toxic smelling water that it literally made my eyes water and my sister's throat burn. NURSING STAFF: Once in a room on the 3rd floor, the CNAs and RNs had to be asked twice (and took a minimum of an hour) to get basic items such as water, a blanket, and snacks for my sister. They couldn't answer basic questions without disappearing and returning with zero information. They simply didn't know anything nor did the people they ran off to ask. Seemingly, no one with any common sense was willing to take charge. THE GOOD: 1. There is generous, hassle-free, outpatient and emergency parking. 2.The security team is great. 3. While the lack of professionalism by the "upper" nursing staff was especially abysmal, in the end, they did offer apology for their incompetence. IN SUMMARY, GO ELSEWHERE: If you have decent insurance, they will find a way to keep you there for days on end. Every three or so hours, some volunteer with no authority to do anything meaningful for you was bothering you asking you if everything was okay. No, it's not. The supervising African-American nurse with the bad wig should be fired and shouldn't be in a field where people's lives are at stake. This was an inexcusably horrific experience. Stay away from this place.

Absolute Fraud, Embezzlement, and Corruption. I was involved and rear ended in a Hit and Run car accident at 101 freeway. Someone hit me with 70 mph and ran away. I was taken to Sherman Oaks Hospital. I was in severe pain on my neck, shoulder back and mainly I had chest pain. I needed to see a Doctor to examine me thoroughly and professionally. Because I have a heart condition, had open heart surgery with 5 bypasses and 11 angioplasties thereafter and got 9 stents. Nurse kept telling me “Doctor will see you soon”. I did not see any Doctor. Two hours later I was released with Ibuprofen prescription. Yesterday, I received a statement from Sherman Oak Hospital that Dr. Neha Shangari is charging for $830. Hospital sent a claim to insurance and my share is $219 to pay. If doctor had examined me, I would have accepted to pay my share with no issue and questions. I needed to see a doctor. I did not see any doctor. And I was charged for something which did not happen. This is an absolute fraud, and I will dispute and fight this matter with insurance company and Hospital, will notify and file a complaint against the doctor with California Medical Board. Dr. Shangari: Morality, dignity, honesty, conscience, and ethics are good to have. This is not any less than stealing from insurance companies. This is not any less than stealing from my pocket and break into my house and take away my possessions. There are hungry people out there who have no choice to break in or steal something to feed themselves and their poor hungry families, and those poor people end up in jail because of illegality and because of this unfair, low employment and corrupted system. But some of you educated, under oath Doctors using your License, pen, paper, tip of your fingers, computer and this corrupted medical system to steal which is considered legal.

Last Wednesday, I went into Sherman Oaks Hospital for a bad reaction I was having to medicine that was given to me for a kidney stone. Not only was I having 12+ level pain, but the drug I was given caused a lot of horrible side effects. Because my primary care physician feared I might be having an obstruction, she told me to go the ER. I normally head to St. Joe's in Burbank, but was too sick to drive that far. I chose Sherman Oaks instead. To make a very, very long and awful story short, I went in for kidney stone complications and left with a diagnosis of PANIC ATTACK. What?!?!?!? Both my primary care physician and urologist were beside themselves when I reported the diagnosis the next morning. Both urged me to call the hospital the next morning to talk to an administrator about my experience - which I did. I swear, I felt like I was in the Twilight Zone. I offered up my CT scan results, offered to show the email from my doctor, asked if I could get a scan for the obstruction and I was just stared and and basically told, "You don't have a kidney stone. You're having a panic attack." No one even touched me. The doctor looked in MY THROAT. My throat!! Why??? Who knows. But no one - not a nurse, not a doctor - no one listened to anything I was saying. They pegged my pain and fear when I came in as a PANIC ATTACK and were deaf to any facts that followed. Meanwhile, my right kidney was filling with fluid and - fortunately, the next day, my urologist was able to help me. I could have died. I'm not done fighting this fight. To be ignored, dismissed and so blatantly misdiagnosed was the biggest medical blunder I have ever faced. As my doctor once said (and it's a warning I should have heeded), "I wouldn't go to Sherman Oaks Hospital if I had a COLD!" Caveat Emptor.

UPDATE: the doctor was Dr. Shangari. That night, I also had a concussion that she didn’t notice or diagnose, and I was diagnosed later by a separate, competent and knowledgeable physician. 6 months after my incident, I’ll never forget how horrible my experience was at this trash hospital. The real doctor from UCLA that I ended up seeing actually had difficulty removing the staples I received at Sherman Oaks “hospital,” after the staff member at this “hospital” who answered the phone was unwilling to provide guidance as to when I should have my staples removed. They ended up telling me my staples could come out in a week when every other doctor recommended two weeks. Don’t go here if you want to receive any sort of competent medical care, because you’ll be SOL. Dr. Shangari doesn’t care about her patients and blatantly ignores cognitive symptoms in concussed patients if she deems them “annoying.” I faced long term consequences due to her negligence. Half a year later, I still wish I would’ve bled profusely for 7 miles on the way to UCLA so I could’ve made it to a real hospital instead of being “treated” here. They sent me home in pain and covered in blood. . . I took a nasty fall and was brought here by an ambulance to be stitched and stapled. The doctor who worked on me told me I was annoying, and she refused to tell me her name when I asked. I was shocked. No one told me when to come back to get the staples removed and they clearly just wanted me out. Absolutely no standard of care here and if I was in a place to go ANYWHERE else, I would’ve. Horrible, horrible, horrible place. Avoid this place and it’s cruel, unprofessional staff.

I’ve been waiting for them to make it right but they just don’t seem to care… it’s very clear why the reviews here are so terrible. The receptionist girl at the front desk Nessy is extremely unpleasant and should not be the person to greet anyone… aside from the attitude and carelessness, she began by telling me it will be a $500 deposit and when we get the bill we pay the rest or I can pay $1,000 now (I chose $500 and pay when I get the bill). A few minutes later she comes back and says she needs to charge $700 because that’s the policy, when I asked why she didn’t have an explanation. I began asking questions and she didn’t want to answer so ignored me and asked my friend who was the patient (I was there with a friend who doesn’t speak English). I asked for her manager who came and said $500 is fine and that was that. I went out to get something from the car and when I came back I asked her for her name, she said “you don’t need to know that, go inside.” I asked again and she walked away and wouldn’t even let me back in. In addition to that, I asked that nothing be sent to my address and I was assured by her manager that nothing would, of course, a few days later I was told mail was sent to that address. After all of this, I asked to speak to whoever is in charge of the facility and after waiting about 10-15 minutes I was asked to come back to an office where the lady in charge asked what happened, she wrote everything down and assured me that her manager would call me in a few days. No one called… go anywhere else, this place does not respect themselves and definitely not their patients.

While individual doctors were kind enough, as a team I was very disappointed with communication. I was admitted for minor bowel problems, and was given two IVs for different injections. After several hours of neither IV being used, I had asked no less than six nurses whether they planned to give me any more injections before the next morning, and if not, if I could have the IVs removed as I could not sleep or move my arm very much at all. Each nurse said "let me check" and then never came back. After several hours of being ignored by different nurses, I gave an ultimatum of checking myself out of the hospital, or removing the devices. To reiterate, no member of the team was able to tell me why the devices would be medically necessary, and why I could not have them removed until needed again. If given any reason why these very simple devices couldn't be removed until needed next, I wouldn't be writing this. The experience genuinely made me feel as though the nurses couldn't be bothered spending 30 seconds on a choice which would drastically improve the quality of my rest overnight. It doesn't make sense to me. The refusal of any member of the team to acknowledge my discomfort turned what should have been a thirty second process into multiple hours of discomfort without any explanation to me of why it was medically necessary. TL;DR, nursing staff would have preferred leaving two needles in my arm overnight preventing me from resting and sleeping instead of spending a literal thirty seconds removing them, or at the very least, giving me a reason to leave them in.

I had an absolutely dreadful experience at this hospital when my wife was involved in a horrific car accident. I cannot express how disappointed and upset I am with the level of care she received during her time there. From the moment we arrived, it felt like the staff was completely indifferent to the severity of my wife's situation. They didn't show any compassion or empathy, just a robotic and detached approach. Instead of giving her the urgent attention she needed, they seemed more focused on routine tasks. Even worse, the medical care provided was subpar. They did the bare minimum, checking her vitals and giving her a basic pain reliever, but failed to conduct a thorough examination or adequately address her pain and injuries. It felt like they were just going through the motions without any genuine concern for her well-being. After conducting some tests, they discharged her without offering any comprehensive treatment plan or follow-up care. They simply sent us home, leaving us to deal with the aftermath of the accident on our own. The lack of guidance and support from the hospital was truly shocking and disheartening. I cannot emphasize enough how deeply troubled I am by the negligence and indifference displayed by this hospital. A horrific accident requires compassionate and skilled medical attention, but what we encountered here was far from that. I would strongly advise against relying on this hospital during times of crisis. My wife deserved better, and no one should have to endure such inadequate care during a traumatic and life-altering event.

I would like to write a review for Nurse Ivan who took care of me in 3 Wedt at Sherman Oaks Hospital. I was admitted on 8/31/22 for heat stroke/ dehydration. The emergency room experience was just ok. After the doctor admitted me I was transferred to 3 West. I had the pleasure of meeting Nurse Ivan in the morning of 9:1:22. He introduced himself and was so pleasant it caught my attention. I was requesting a letter from the hospital for my job. Ivan Nurse Ivan went out of his way to make sure I received the letter. Later I mentioned I like decaf coffee. Ivan requested directly from the kitchen to prepare my decaf which was served with my breakfast. I watched him when he did the intake of the older lady in bed 2. He took his time with her and even called her ‘mama’. He made her feel comfortable. The icing on the cake for me happened when Ivan allowed me to charge my I phone at the nurses station. He charged it a second time and allowed me to take a nap after which he brought it to me with the good news I would be discharged. This nurse blessed me so much during the entire day I was a paitient at the Sherman Oaks Hospital. I am an attorney and run a business with staff who I wish could be more like nurse Ivan. I commend him for his compassion and would like to let his superiors know he is an asset to this Hospital. Thank you Nurse Ivan for taking care of me at Sherman Osks Hospital. You are truly a blessing. Joan Pinnock. Paitient t Sherman Oaks Hospitsl 3 West 8/31/22-9/1/22

My son was taken to Sherman Oaks hospital on 6/8/23. He was poisoned with fentanyl by someone named Matt - Matt apparently wanted his guitars and computer and clothes. Matt still is hiding. Anthony was a John Doe before passing being taken off life support on Fathers Day6/18/23. Apparently he received excellent care and was made to be comfortable. Unfortunately we his family had no idea he was there- if the hospital had the palm imaging system- As Sarasota Hospital Florida has- they would have known who he was as it hooks into his record. I am saddened that this hospital has not invested into this - as so many young people are being murdered there in Studio City and Sherman Oaks daily. Only to be called “John Doe” - as though their life didn’t matter. My sons life mattered and so does every other John Doe in California and in the rest of the country. It saddens me this information of the fentanyl murders is not made known - as it is taking more lives than Covid, cancer and accidents combined. California has been and is protecting the drug dealers- allowing them out with a slap on the hand only to continue killing our entire next generation. My life is changed forever, as so many other moms and dads and sisters and brothers and friends - it’s like the movie ground hog day- every day I wake up- it’s the same sorrow as the first day I knew my son passed.

****UDATE -it took over 2 years for someone from this hospital to respond to this review. That, in and of itself, should tell you everything you need to know about the level of blatant disregard for patients and family members alike. If you value your life or that of a loved one, please go elsewhere. **** If only there were negative numbers, this hospital would rate below 1 In this review. A majority of the “doctors” & “nurses” we encountered shouldn’t be practicing. Most of them need attitude adjustments & had no idea about this patient’s condition. There was no plan of care and no adjustments were made even though the patient was on dialysis. Most of the doctors & nurses were impossible to locate. Everyone just appeared to be eager to pass the buck. We were told to wait and see what happened next because they didn’t know what was wrong with him & there were no doctors on staff to appropriately diagnose him. We couldn’t get a straight answer. When pressed, we we were met with downright hostility and arrogance. We took the patient out after 2 weeks of misdiagnoses and arrogant, glib attitudes. We went against medical advice, took the patient to Cedars Sinai and within minutes of looking at the records, the real doctors here gave us a real diagnosis and brought in doctors that Sherman Oaks didn’t seem to have. This hospital needs to be shut down.

The best experiance DONT SEND YOUR LOVED ONES TO THE SHERMAN OAKS HOSPITAL SUBACITE UNIT. The Sherman Oaks Hospital and Sherman Oaks Hospital Subacute Unit staff members are seasoned fraud artists. They fabricate numbers and data to show DHS surveyors that their patients are in tip top shape. Except for the CNA's, the rest of the staff members are licensed in a third world country with no American sociology, poor communication and terrible patient care standards. This hospital goes by the motto the employee is always right and the patient is unimportant. The CNA's will take the patient's vital signs and totally change the numbers to show that patient is hemodynamically stable. From the administrator to their nurse coordinator to the RN's who constantly gather at the nurse’s station chatting and gossiping and eating, there is not one personnel who is worthy of a thumb up. Stay away from this place and please don't send your love one, and family members here. If you see any positive comments then trust it's coming from the hospital staff because no human in their right mind can truthfully say anything good about a single employee for this hospital. HORRIBLE PLACE! I came in in excruciating pain - couldn’t sit or stand. I also called ahead & told them I had NO insurance & how much would I pay. I was quoted $100-150. It took nearly 4 hrs to be seen & then they refused to prescribe the ONLY pain meds that work for my condition (which I’ve had since 1995). I told them I hadn’t gotten the meds since then & hadn’t been able to sleep for 4 days due to pain . I just needed a few tablets so I could sleep. The dr examined me & could clearly see I was not faking but refused to issue a prescription for the pain meds I asked for. He wrote up one for a diff med & told me it would work. IT DID NOT WORK AT ALL! I wound up taking FOUR over 2 hrs & ZERO relief! I was in pain so badly that I was literally screaming from it! And to add insult to injury, they sent me a bill for $1100! AND I found out much later that they are a PUBLIC HOSPITAL & can’t do that when I made it clear I had no insurance & couldn’t afford to pay. Public hospitals can’t refuse you but they also can’t force you to pay if you have no means. DON’T GO HERE UNLESS YOU HAVE NO OPTIONS & be prepared to be ignored & to not have your problem taken care of. I’d give them MINUS 10 stars if I could!

my first visit here was overall good. didn't wait a long time and the er doctor was very nice and made sure my pain and nausea were taken care of. nurses were great during my few days admission. but on my day of discharge I was still not tolerating food and so I should not have been discharged. I know my body very well as I've been dealing with my medical stuff for over ten years. my pain was also still very bad and I told the Dr about my concerns with the nausea and pain and he didn't care. he didn't set me up with a good plan. in my discharge summary he implied I was demanding controlled pain meds as a prescription but that isn't true. I had just wanted to be sent home with some type of pain control. fast forward 4 days I end up back in er and wait 5 hours just for the rudest er Dr to not even feel my stomach or ask any questions. she just talked to me in a condescending tone and acted like I was the dumbest person ever for not being a expert in navigating the California medical insurance system. I ended up needing emergency surgery and irreversible damage has been done just bc they assumed I wanted pain meds. why become a doctor if you don't like helping people?

If you want a place where no one actually reads your chart, you have to beg for pain medication (after calling an ambulance based on your pain), you get taken advantage of to another level, with an insanely rude staff (with the exception of 3 nurses - Rhea, Nerissa and Karen) and incompetent doctors, look no further this is the place for you! I need to make it very clear I have never ever in my life taken time to write a review (positive or negative) but as a human with a heart I have no idea how I could sleep not warning people about this place. I am new in town, 23 years old with not one friend or family physically by my side and this place has caused me more pain than it has alleviated. I also feel I should share that my mother was a cancer patient and so I know how a hospital, doctors and nurses should care for a patient - I only share this very personal anectode in hopes people will ignore the few good reviews and trust in me and the other people who took time out of their days to leave a truthful review. I called an ambulance so my choice in where to go wasn’t existent, if you have a choice PLEASE I am begging you do not step into this ‘hospital’.

Tonight my fiancé went in. I had been here before, and if you look for Ashley Beau, my last complaint is there 7 months ago. The rep tells me to contact them, doesn’t say where and can’t just click. I wish you could add recordings, because I have one. Tonight, a tiny woman was brought in while my fiancé was there with a life threatening blood clot. They brought the tiny woman in by fire paramedics. The woman was quite intoxicated and was loudly saying she wanted to leave. An orderly screamed he would beat her, my fiancé has a recording of him then beating her and threatening her while they pull him off her. They left him on the floor. My fiancé had to escape by threatening them with legal action because they tried to force him to stay, after he saw the tiny woman getting beaten by the orderly, part of the time while in handcuffs. I called the police. I guess I can’t go back here, nor that I would want to with what I heard and experienced. He is traumatized. We want a settlement. Give me real contact info. Edit: this response has to be a joke. I’ll call the hospital director since I have a recording.

was transported to this hospital when called 911 for extreme pain and urine retention following surgery. I went to a ED Room 9 was approached not vitals taken to patient assessment was asked if I was allergic to medication and was given an IM of tordal and some Tylenol by mouth.I became able to urinate and was practically sent home as discharge paperwork coming out of printer. I returned the next day same issue but worsening to find I could walk through medal detector and went off requiring no inspection or contact. I had a nurse practitioner see myself who walked in no vital’s again or blood work she informed me that I was on strongest pain medication and she could not do anything more for me so I left with no scan for retention of urine or any other intervention. I walked out of room probably did not realize I left. I went to Mission Community Hospital on Roscoe Blvd see comments on their same issues worst service and to top it off Sherman Oaks Hospital has somehow accessed my medical records information here and claim I was also being followed by them with my current care??? What

After three hours of waiting outside the ER parking lot where my son was told to wait by the receptionist, my son who has COVID-19 with severe symptoms, went back into the ER and asked to speak with the floor supervisor ,in three hours time nobody went outside and 5 minutes after he spoke with Rosalie or Rosavie floor supervisor a nurse finally took his blood pressure, temperature and O2 saturation, even though my son complained of severe chest pain ??? He was told by the nurse they were not going to see him that he doubted the doctor would agree to see him that those were normal COVID symptoms that he had gone through the same thing . These are very sick people, what needs to happen for this hospital to get on the ball ,maybe the medical association or Better Business Bureau will be notified, the employees have zero bedside manner beginning with the receptionist and ending with the nurse that finally went out to the parking lot and sent my son home, where is your medical professionalism where is the fact that patients come first and nobody is sent home …lawsuit waiting to happen.

Honestly I avoided coming here because of bad reviews. My stomach had terrible pain and I waited 8 hours for the urgent care across the street to open because their reviews were so much better. Don't get me wrong, urgent care earned it's great reviews, however when my needs were greater than what urgent care could provide, they sent me to the ER at Sherman Oaks hospital. The people here are sweet. They laugh and make you feel welcome. I've had multiple hour long conversations with staff just shooting the breeze. Just a great experience. I ended up staying here for roughly 3 days due to an appendectomy. It was some of the worst pain I can remember and yet the hospital made the experience almost enjoyable. I'm about to check out and almost don't want to leave. They feel like a family. I look forward to my next life threatening situation so I can come back... ok that's a joke. But you get what I'm saying, they do a good job oh yeah, and they saved my life. But that's just what hospitals do. Thanks everybody!

  • Svetlana Khodaverdi

I had a really bad car accident and got taken to Sherman Oaks Hospital for help. But my experience there was awful. The hospital staff didn't take good care of me and didn't seem to know what they were doing. They just hooked me up to a machine and gave me medicine for the pain without properly checking me. They did a scan but didn't explain anything about my condition or how to take care of myself. Then they let me go without finding out what was causing my severe pain. I had to go to another hospital to get better care because the pain didn't go away. It was a lot of trouble and suffering for me. After this terrible experience, I don't want to go back to Sherman Oaks Hospital ever again. I suggest that anyone needing medical help should go somewhere else where they take better care of their patients. To sum it up, Sherman Oaks Hospital doesn't care enough about their patients and isn't good at handling emergencies. I hope sharing my story will help others avoid going through the same distress I faced.

  • Stephany Monterroso

One of the worst hospitals I have ever been too. The only reason why my grandma stayed at this hospital because it is the closest to her house and because she was experiencing severe pain. The registered nurses had a hard time helping my grandmother; at times they seemed like they just did not know what to do. Most of them are unprofessional! As I walked down the halls I would see some of the registered nurses on their phones, including the desk attendants. I recall asking a "registered nurse" named John for a pillow because my grandma needed one for her back since it was aching. He took a good while and I was wondering why. I watched what he was doing from the edge of the room door and found him texting on his phone!! I was truly upset. Do the registered nurses not really care for their attendants? I cannot say this about everyone though. If you ever go to the hospital, ask for DAN as your personal registered nurse. He was amazing, truly helpful, and attentive to my grandmother's needs.

I had no idea hospitals could be so terrible. Clearly this is a less affluent area, but come on. People deserve decent healthcare, and empathy when they arrive with a health emergency. My partner drove me here when I was nearly passing out with a kidney infection, and the (I don’t know what she was- receptionist?) behind the glass just thrust papers at us to fill out. I couldn’t do it in my condition, so my partner did- then went over and asked her (he’s very polite) what the estimate was on a wait time, as I was clearly not well. She just shrugged- said “No idea.” and went back to some game on her phone. I honestly thought this was some overused Hollywood trope of American hospitals, but it’s very real- at least here it was. We hightailed it out of there (well- I groaned and waddled) got back in the car and made it to UCLA hospital pretty quickly, where the care was AMAZING, and I felt confident in the whole team. Seriously- AVOID Sherman Oaks hospital if that’s possible for you.

  • David Greenman

asked for a hot towel second time and got kicked out of room and placed under two cold vents for complaining, And then security came to make sure i dont move or record my experience… is that torture ? What if you had surgery five days ago and the doctor who removed dressing did not have it replaced for over two hours. But that nurse packed my things so fast and carelessly to have me sit far away in hallway under two giant vents blowing cold air, no shirt, no shoes, no dressing on the 10” scar on shoulder… is that torture ? It felt horrible not being able to leave because of open sutures, and scared to leave the freezing chair without some protection, after 10-15 minutes waiting in the freezing chair/area another nurse agrees to apply protection on the sutures, finally can put on my shirt and leave immediately. To be fair there are many good and talented professionals here, unfortunately had the pleasure to meet. This review is unfortunately most recent experience has become.

My mom's experience at Sherman Oaks Hospital after her car accident was nothing and highly disappointing. The staff seemed disinterested, only giving her basic care like Tylenol without addressing her pain properly. They discharged her without follow-up medication or recovery advice, leaving us to figure things out on our own. The hospital's lack of care and haste in discharging patients is deeply concerning and reflects a troubling negligence towards patient well-being. I strongly discourage seeking medical attention at this facility, as my mom's stay was a total let down, and no one deserves to be treated with such indifference and disregard. And the 1 star is for the cool security at the front. Now, I'm certain they are going to respond to this review by saying "We strive to be the best blah blah...." But to me it just seems like that's just a copy and pasted message they send to everyone. Careless just like their hospital.

  • Nicolle Bell

Worst ER I have ever been to in my life. The doctors and nurses should be ashamed of themselves as they took an oath. I went here and all they did was take my temperature and blood pressure. They gave me a variety of things that are of concern possibly have strep throat, tonsillitis, Covid ect and then discharged me without any care or help. Not sure if it was because of the color of my skin or what but this hospital and their doctors and nurses give no care in the world. They are just there to clock in make their money and leave. No fluids no medicine literally nothing but surely hit my insurance for money. I was told I would receive a call with my testing results and with no shock no call. I called and am told they aren’t able to tell me my results. This is literally FRAUD!!! Medical board needs to re-evaluate this place and shut it down. Don’t bother being seen here they don’t care about you and won’t care for you !

  • Bekki Herzon

My family had a really great experience at the Sherman Oaks Hospital ER. My 10 year old daughter got a second degree oil burn, and we showed up here at night in a panic, she was hyperventilating in extreme pain and we were very scared. We were lucky that we got in to triage to see a doctor within 10-15 minutes. Shoutout to Dr. Desi who was amazing, so good with my daughter, so reassuring, great bedside manner. He was clearly managing a lot of patients, but we felt attended to and the other staff were very nice and gentle too. They were careful about monitoring my daughter after she got pain meds but also recognizing that it was way past bedtime and we were eager to get home. I had been here 10 years ago when my husband had a kidney stone. It was a longer wait, but he also got good care. I would come back, and I'm so appreciative to Dr. Desi and his staff for taking care of my daughter during a scary injury.

My husband had a seizure a few days ago, and after calling 911 the paramedics highly suggested this hospital, saying they’d take care of him fast and get him out if no major issues were found. They got him treated within the hour, gave him fluids that he needed and told him exactly what the issue was and how to treat it. The staff was actually super friendly. The receptionist was extremely sweet even after getting yelled at by a patient prior to me for having to wait the time he did. The nurse who’s name I don’t remember but she wore some really cool violet contacts and the Doctor himself, I don’t recall the name but I believe it started with an S and ended with a K - they were both great, extremely attentive, empathetic and thorough. They made myself and my husband feel at ease at a very uncertain and uncomfortable time and we highly appreciate them both, especially knowing how short staffed they were.

Update: 7/12/2022: I just got another call from Sherman Oaks Hospital saying I owe $7,000.00. I have not been to there hospital is years since I know they are scammers, so I was confused on why I'm being billed. The told me the bill was from 3 years ago and there now contacting me about it. Also the number below does not work and no one calls you back. Please I beg you do not go here. I am getting in contact with legal services. please contact your city attorney so they can look into this hospital. Original Post: Please do not go here, they bill outrageous prices. The don't negotiate unless you make under $13,000 a year. They do care. THEY BILL YOU LITTARLY WHAT EVER THEY WANT! I BEG THAT YOU DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL. Please do not write me that your sorry about my experience, your not! Also, your staff is very rude. ALSO STOP PUTTING UP FAKE REVIEWS that give you 5 stars we know that's a LIE

Last night my boyfriend went by ambulance to the emergency room for what he felt was either laced weed or a stroke. He was unable to speak, forgetting where he was and who I was. One nurse literally laughed at him as he tried to explain his concerns and most of the staff laughed him off. No tests were run. The “doctor” he spoke to briefly didn’t listen to him nor did he explain any of the symptoms. He was discharged without and answers. As he was taken by ambulance he did not have a mask and at no point did they give him one. He was sitting next to another patient who had covid symptoms. This place is bottom of the barrel and apparently this doctor (Daniel Bedi) has gotten numerous complaints and is somehow still employed. Really disgraceful that healthcare providers have so little regard and respect for human beings who are confused and terrified about a health issue.

  • Matt Broschinsky

I had an excellent experience at Sherman Oaks. I had my gallbladder removed and all of the staff, radiologists, surgical team and post-op nurse team were awesome. They kept me informed every step of the way, they checked on me regularly but also did their best to let me rest and recover. A special shout out to Rey, Marina and Mae. They were 3 of the best nurses I have ever come across. It’s sad that there are so many negative reviews on this hospital. I got the care I needed and the desired outcome I was hoping for. Maybe they were expecting a hospital to spoil you like a guest in a ritzy resort hotel. The staff at Sherman Oaks focus on protecting your health and your life. They showed great expertise in doing this. I wish my review could somehow override some of these negative reviews. I was there for 4 days so I saw numerous shifts come and go and all were awesome.

PSA for your health - NEVER go to Sherman Oaks ER. Had to call ambulance for my 91 year old mom, and St.Joe's was crowded. EMTs highly suggested Sherman Oaks. We agreed. Big mistake. Nightmare of an experience - for my mom inside the hospital and me outside in the waiting room. They refused to allow me back with her but I was worried bc she was weak and could barely talk. Kept saying nurses/ doctors were "working" on her. However, come to find out she was left alone for most of the time. Communication terrible - couldn't get an update till I had been there for 3 hours losing my mind. Kept asking but just received no info. Poorly staffed and managed. My mom was dehydrated - had an IV and never given fluids. List goes on. Thankfully it was just a UTI. My mom says she will gladly wait 12 hours in the waiting room at St Joe’s hospital. Degrading and horrible experience.

  • Adam Plunkett Jr

This is by far the worst hospital in the LA County. The doctors are judgmental and for some reason think everyone is a drug addict if they are sick. Look at all these reviews where the doctors and nurses made assumptions. The doctors write incorrect dictations in the medical report which void your insurance then they put a dent in your credit score because you refuse to pay for their mistakes. They also almost let a friend of mine die.. They sent her home telling her she was fine. Hours later she collapsed and had to be taken to St Josephs in Burbank where she was told she was very lucky to have made it. I cant believe with all the people who have been mistreated, the people who have stated their wallets stolen by nurses and the malpractice by the doctors that this place has not been placed under serious review or investigation.

  • Maral Anserian

This hospital must be shut down. Reaching to the Medical board of director, and Media and Sunny Bhatia must know what’s going on in the hospital.I am not asking for money ,I am wealthy I am not greedy like they are i am not suing for money I will just make sure that this hospital will be shut down, and most of the nurses and employees must know their mistakes and carelessness. Date expired milk for breakfast, forgetting meal, not caring rude nurses and staff not wearing masks, and flirting with doctors, and manyyyyyyy more serious issues…….. Nurses. Employees staff before carrying titles be a decent human beings and treat patients as you like to be treated , you never know what tomorrow is waiting you, just ask yourselves do you want to be treated the same way you are treating others??? they killed my father in law.

  • Lil S

This is one of the best hospitals and one of a very few hospitals that provide this level of patient centered care. Literally each patient matters, and they take their time to listen to, to support and to make you a part of a bigger team that takes care of you. My whole family got covid and while my primary care physician was busy all day and never had a second to spend on me, or even talk to me on the phone, this hospital took the wellbeing of my family very seriously. My dad was there with pneumonia and covid and so were we, and can I just say a big thank you to all the nurses, EMT, doctors, pharmacists and to everyone else who helped us along the way. Everyone was very polite, caring, and attentive. They cared, it wasnt just a job that they were doing like it is the case in most of the hospitals. Thank you!

  • Madison Heggen

Back in 2015 I came here to get a laceration stitched up/looked at. I couldn't bend my thumb and I knew something wasn't right but staff was very dismissive and the nurse who sewed me up told me it was probably just swelling and to wait a few days. I did my own research online and started to suspect I'd severed a tendon. Finally saw a hand specialist a week later and found out I had in fact severed a tendon and should've had surgery immediately after the injury. Years later I finally was able to get reconstructive surgery thanks to the amazing Dr. Prosper Benhaim and the team at UCLA. Seeing the other reviews on here, I'm disturbed but not surprised unfortunately. I hope this hospital and Mend urgent care in Sherman Oaks get shut down for malpractice. It's unacceptable how badly they treat patients.

  • Rachel Nazaire

If I could give zero stars I would. Horrible hospital never coming back, no matter the case. Came here bc it’s close to my home. They do not take time to listen to the patients need, they do not care about patients as a human, take their time, & are very rude. They left me alone in a room for hours, no update, one girl woke me out of my sleep just to charge me $150.00 & then turned around and told another patient they don’t have to pay $150.00 right away. I had to get dressed and go find someone to help me in the hospital after repeatedly pressing the button. Staff is unfriendly and horrible up front. Will never visit this ER again. My doctor hardly spoke to me, and stayed long gone. I also feel discriminated against, & by far the worst hospital I have ever been to

I came to town for an event from Oklahoma. I was in a lot of pain with upper GI issues. I thought it was my hiatal hernia acting up. The ER Doctor ran the right tests and found that I had extremely elevated Liver enzymes. With that information, he was going to admit me. When the CT scan came back, it indicated a blocked bile duct. The personel in the ER were extremely friendly and professional. I felt completely cared for. On the floor, the nursing staff made sure that I was taken care of well. I received a procedure to remove a gallstone that blocked my bile duct early on Sunday morning! I am extremely thankful for all who cared for me and saved my life. I was told that my condition was life threatening. Thank you for the excellent care you gave me.

I have (unfortunately) been in many hospitals throughout my lifetime. I’m currently hospitalized at Sherman Oaks Hospital. Since I came in and for the days I’ve been here, the staff have all been incredibly sweet and attentive. Everyone from sanitation to administration has been visiting to make sure my stay is comfortable and that I’m extremely informed about medications and procedures I am receiving. I waited less that 10 minutes in the ER and was having a CT scan within the hour. Incredible service. Courteous, professional, and with impeccable bedside manner. If I end up needing anything else done once I am released, I plan on making the trip back. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this hospital and it’s staff.

  • Andrew Sussman

My mother broke her hip and Dr. Botts was the surgeon. I was told he was good since so many old ladies broke their hips and he was experienced. I was told the surgery went well but my mother continued to feel excessive pain and limited mobility. On a follow up visit to remove the staples ( stiches ) Dr. Botts said everything was fine and that everyone heals differently. During rehab they noticed the leg on the repaired hip side was 1.75 inches shorter ! Then after another week of slow painful healing I demanded another x-ray and they noticed the hip was dislocated. We went to UCLA & Dr. Cyran who did another surgery , fixed the hip and corrected the length. FOUR (4) calls to Dr. Botts were never returned.

I recently was admitted for chest pain, my EKG’S where normal so they give me the choice to get an stress test, in the morning and get admitted or check with my primary doctor, I decided to stay and received treatment, All the employees from ER to 3 West where extremely respectful and caring, the food was good and the doctors where very nice, they keep the rooms clean and the temperature comfortable, Overall I love my experience in Sherman Oaks is an Excellent hospital and All the Nurses work really hard to keep their patients comfortable and the process for discharge was really fast and I am very Satisfied with the Excellent Service I will definitely will choose this Hospital again.

This review pertains only to the ER intake employee. I was there this afternoon carrying my sleeping toddler while my eldest child needed attention. At the window was this ugly fat thing with fake eyelashes and crusty eye shadow deep in her text messaging. As I stood patiently waiting I ask two dodo birds behind her if I'd come to the right window. After receiving the paperwork I begin signing them at the window because its challenging to sit while carrying child, sign paperwork then stand back up carrying my child. The "thing" tells me to sit down so she can "assist" anyone else who comes in. Whether or not that's protocol she meant get out of my face so I can continue texting.

  • Matthew Mullins

Talk about a huge disappointment. I have cauliflower ear, and went in to get it fixed before my ear became disfigured. The nurse practitioner there was not very gentle, and she made a ton of incisions that really hurt all over my ear. I was left in the emergency room alone for a couple hours and then the asst came in and loosely wrapped my ear. It all felt wrong but I was happy my ear was supposedly fixed. Later at home I went to change the bandage and was shocked to find that my ear wasn’t any better than when I arrived there. I face permanent disfigurement until I can get plastic surgery now. This place is a pit of despair. Go to Cedars , go to Hoag, do not go here.

  • Paul Houston

On seeing these reviews and attempting to visit the ER with an urgent issue, I see that the same rude, uncaring receptionist is still at the front desk after multiple complaints over at least 1 year. I actually walked out and took an Uber to another ER. Please don't respond to this post saying that you "strive to improve" when it is obvious that you make no effort to do so. Instead, realize that you are, for some, their last hope. I shudder at the thought of, for example, a depressive, perhaps suicidal soul looking for help at your facility, being treated poorly by a discourteous receptionist, and walking away feeling more hopeless for the experience.

  • Dustin Henderson

The ER has horrible service. I waited 3 and a half hours for stitches I saw the doctor once for less than 1 minute after 2 and a half hours and finally checked myself out. The doctor was rude, the staff was lazy. They acted like they were understaffed, but they were just joking around the entire time. there was one guy that acted like he even cared and he wasn't even a full nurse, just like an intern. On a Friday night there should be more than 1 ER doctor for a place that big. If you have a choice do not go here, go anywhere but here. I never received my stitches or anything other than a "well that sucks" comment but still had to pay for the visit.

I took my aunt just today to this hospital. She was there laying in her bed for 4 hours and no one showed up for her ultra sound. The doctor didn’t order any blood test when I asked for the reason .. she didn’t reply back. Anyhow, after 4 hours , we understood that no blood test was performed neither ultra sound because she has no insurance. The nurse literally told us if no one came to help you out , it’s better for us to leave and go to another hospital. I left work to take my aunt to the hospital due to her swollen leg. The whole day was wasted and nothing was performed. It is illegal to deny patient because they don’t have insurance.p

  • Cheyenne Craun

This was the worst hospital experience I’ve ever had. I had surgery to remove my appendix and the night after my surgery they did not manage my pain at all. They told me how I’d be in more pain from the surgery, but then still treated me like I was drug seeking. I always had to ask for my next dosage which then took another 30 minutes, the whole time crying in pain. I woke up at 3:30am in pain and got no help until the doctor came in at 10:30 am. Then they still rushed to discharge me without making sure I’d have a prescription to help me manage pain and continue antibiotics at home. If you can help it, do not go to this hospital.

  • Camila Andrade

Worst experience of my life was at this hospital. The doctor yelled at me...... I was a victim of domestic abuse and I was being made fun of. The nurse was making fun of my situation right literally in front of me!!!!!!!!!! with her other Co worker. I have too much to write for this review. I was discharged when I was still not able to walk or feel better. I will never ever forget the trauma I went through in this emergency room. I can not believe the way I was treated and I can't find a number to complain about all this. I'm shocked the people that were supposed to care for me made me feel worse. Completely unbelievable.

On thursday night, my chronically ill partner was taken to sherman oaks hospital for unexplained non responsiveness. Throughout the day on friday, they ran every test explaining every step along the way and updating me on the result. By mid afternoon on friday, we had an answer, and he was transferred to a hospital better equipped to handle his condition. We've been to much fancier hospitals but this one was much more friendly. One of the ER nurses even spotted me in the hallway the next day to ask me how my partner was doing. We have a long road ahead of us, but we set out on a good start with sherman oaks hospital

Have Crohn’s disease. One of the two worst flare ups of my life. Went to this hospital. I thought I had another infected hemorrhoid. Just a terrible flare up. THEY GAVE ME AN RX FOR OXY, DESPITE ASKING FOR NON NARCOTIC PAIN MEDS as I use my brain competitively and don’t want to take 8 advil as I’m on right now and destroy my liver. It finally got so painful today I tried to fill the rx. The hospital staff laughed, and treated me like an addict, despite the cat scan they did that showed them it’s a lot of pain. I actually spoke to the chief of staff it was so disgusting. Not everyone is an addict douchebags.

  • cutie ave

My friend has been stuck in the hospital for days without proper treatment and they’ve been treated very inhumanly by Dr. Yashar Ilkhchoui, a pain specialist, and Dr. Rutherford, a physician in internal medicine. The doctors dismissed everything and is currently making the situation 10x worse. My friend has no where they can go to. And my friend feels like they’ll die under these doctors care. I’ve tried to call them myself, but they’re dismissing me as well. This is why I’m leaving this statement here. Before it’s too late for my friend. Shame on them. My friend doesn’t deserve this. No one does.

I work for a detox facility, one of my clients needed to be brought to the emergency for a super low body temperature. Not only did we wait for 2+ hours (we were told it was because they were super busy, with 3 people total in the waiting room), but when I had went to use the restroom, this is how I walked into it. It is beyond disgusting and I didn’t even feel comfortable touching anything. There was hair on the sink from someone shaving, a blanket and sheet on the floor, trash everywhere, and this is supposed to be a hospital? Next time I will gladly drive a bit farther for a better hospital

Dr. Prem Reddy CEO of prime healthcare, and his hospital in Dallas have absolutely no business in the medical field Dallas Medical Center in neglected, my brother, resulting in a deep infected bedsore that required surgery that nobody could explain how it got as bad as it did without admitting neglect…. I asked questions and demanded answers. They sent me a cease and desist order. I’m starting to believe that Dr. Reddy is just a shady as every employee beneath him. The lawsuits brought against prime healthcare a few years ago. Tell me they are still doing what they were before, and even worse.

  • Tyler Timmerman

Only giving them 1 star because I have to in order to post a review. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. They are not helpful and don't work well with insurance. My wife went in with a severe migraine and checked with the lady at the check in to make sure they covered Blue Cross Blue Shield. She said they would work it out. They admitted her to the back and just gave her Benedryl and anti-nausea medicine and sent her on her way. We then get a bill for $2722.54 and their explanation was "they have doctors that work with Blue Cross Blue Shield but the one that was assigned to her was not". Absolute trash.

This place is awful. I was just coherent enough to make it to their emergency room where I collapsed trying to filling out paperwork as I was having a stroke. The nurses then continued to ask me what drugs I had taken over and over again, which I could barely tell them none, but they continued to ask the same question. By the time the doctors got to me I was unconscious. The smartest thing the doctors did was get me in ambulance and had me transfered to Saint Jospeh's in Burbank. The nurses were too busy socializing and doing their own thing. DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU VALUE YOUR LIFE.

  • Danielle Contreras

Overall a bad experience from the lack of knowledge and bedside manner from the actual doctors. (Not the first time I bring my dad here but hopefully the last) The nurses were nice front desk and everything was nice. But absolutely no care from the doctors regarding the patient. My dad was in intense pain where he couldn’t even walk and they still wanted to discharge us. And sent us home with only muscle relaxers. I took him to olive-view hospital after 2 days because he couldn’t handle the pain and they not only took excellent care of him he went home feeling better.

Overnight ER staff are unprofessional. A male nurse with an accent, maybe Russian, had me use a bed pan and urine spilled. He didn't clean it up so I was forced to lie in my own urine for hours until it dried. A female nurse with dark hair and a high ponytail, maybe Hispanic or Asian, had me use a bed pan and didn't even give me toilet paper to dry myself. When I asked for help I was ignored for HOURS. I would not suggest coming here in an emergency at night. Do not bring your loved ones here as they might mistreat you and your loved ones like they did me.

  • Bernard N i e s e n

I would only return here if I was unconscious and brought here against my will. I was told bedside that I might have pink eye, upon hearing this patient next to me asked my nurse, is pink eye contagious? Where's the HIPPA!!!!! I was asked by my first nurse, if she wanted to check my back for bedsores? That was an interesting question considering I was ambulatory when I went to the hospital and ambulatory when I was discharged. And when I was discharged, I was giving two different prescriptions. I later find out that neither one had my name on them.

My wife had difficulties in recovery after out-patient surgery, and the hospital could not get her or any other anesthesiologist to check her condition. All we got was some oily bureaucrat in charge of "risk management"-- in other words, making sure that they don't be sued-- trying to tell us her medical condition was fine. The nursing staff was caring, but the level of medical competency is low. If you have to have surgery here you might consider going to a faith healer instead. The faith healer won't help you, but is also not likely to harm you.

  • Krystel Carrillo

This is one of the worse places to goto and get help. The ER staff is REALLY rude and won't listen to what you have to say. JOJO the night nurse was off the chart rude to where I tried to talk to her she would go off on me and when I talked to her on the phone as well she went off her rocker and hung up on me. I also talked to the night Nurse Supervisor for the whole hospital who when I tried to talk to her as well she went off on me and hung up on me as well.. WARNING.. DO NOT GOTO THIS HOSPITAL. . Find someplace else. .

  • Pablo Borges

A bunch of useless and careles people are employed at that place. My roommate went in with severe stomach pain and a possible bursting appendix and they gave him a barf bag and made him wait over 1 hour to be seeing by a doctor. DO NOT GO TO THAT HOSPITAL. Staff just hangs out having conversations while people wait in pain. Unbelievable. DO NOT GO TO THAT HOSPITAL, ever….! Again, just a bunch of unprofessional, useless and careless people work there. Call 911 and have them take you or loved one somewhere else instead.

  • Debbie Kozin

The worst . Staff did not have masks on. When I asked the staff persons name she past me a note, see below, stating she doesn't have to give me her name and turned her name badge over. When I alerted the administration at the hospital I was told he doesn't have time for this. Further my mom has been in the hospital over 24 hours and has still not seen the pulmonary specialist she needs despite repeatedly being asked. She has severe COPD. I do understand that everyone is over worked but it is no excuse for inept care.

  • lisa erickson

Horrable experience I wait 2 hours in the watting room at 4 am because they had no Drs in the ER I was was just concerned because I had the flu. And woke up with rib pressure thought I should get it checked out A nurse practitioner named Meghan was wounderful then this Dr came in was very abrupt hammering questions at me I felt was trying to scare me into procedures that were over kill I opted to walk it I personally feel this doctor was wanting procedures done for the hospitals financial gain not for my health

  • Wendy

Horrible! My parents were brought in because of a car accident. I asked to speak to a supervisor to be allowed in and help translate for them. I was sent to speak with a Nurse. The nurse said I would be allowed to go in 30 mins. 3 hrs passed, I then complained to Front desk ER Clerk “Domingo” one more time. He was rude the first time and so on the second time I spoke with him. He also had the audacity to speak bad of me in front of other patients in the lobby waiting. Totally unprofessional.

  • monika rogers

This hospital is the worst nightmare I have ever experienced. I cannot believe they are even in business and dont get sued daily. They are rude, definitely do not care about the patients well being, make BIG mistakes on records, and will literally not let you make a phone call to a family member when you are there for an emergency! They would not let me call a family member when I was there and I was let go to walk home after being admitted for a total emergency!! DONT go to this hospital!!!

  • Casey Leeds

The doctor that saw me was horribly disrespectful, and refused to treat my tooth infection with antibiotics. After being rude and dismissive, he sent me home with painkillers. When my infection flared up later in the middle of the night, I was more pain than i'd ever been in my life. I was vomiting and couldn't move my neck. when i got to the ER the same doctor berated me for being too poor to treat my tooth, and almost refused me treatment. awful, degrading experience

  • Moe Robles

This hospital is awful I was told I cold come get a blanket if I needed one and then when I asked for one she said I got to be seen by a doctor to get one when I was just cold not sick yet. I said are you serious you just said I can get one and because I won't been seen I cannot have one and it's freezing outside her Name is Jueley and she is very pretty but so ugly inside ...wondering if she thinks there are people in heaven treating cold homeless people like that

  • Shavonne Powell

I came to this hospital via ambulance and I am so glad I did. The staff is AMAZING. Besides this painful IV in my arm I sometimes forgot I'm in a hospital. Felt more like a hotel lol. The "hospital food" was anything but! Waffle breakfast/ Cod fish lunch... Clean, didn't have to ask for much, everything I needed was already at my bedside! I don't mind my slow recovery, they have made it that comfortable for me here. Best hospital I've ever gone to!

  • Mark Mandell

Hardly the "Hilton" among hospitals, this review is based on my experience of being there one week last year. The food was awful and it was oftentimes next to impossible to get room service if I requested by pressing the button specifically designed for that. And the shirt I was wearing when admitted got lost. However, I did like some of the staff and in general those assigned the job of replacing linen and similar duties were fairly efficient.

  • Shy NineTeen

The hospital is clean and tidy! but the service and protocols are horrible. The staff and their rules are horrible i never been to a hospital where i had ask to take a shower and it takes 4 hours for them to process " the order " for me to take a shower. They take ages bringing pain meds and meds for anxiety. Horrible horrible service! please do not ever come to this hospital unless you really NEED to! 5 star for tidyness 2 stars for service!

  • Maral Anserian

This hospital must be shut dawn. Reaching to the Medical board of director, and Sunny Bhatia must know what’s going on in the hospital.I am not asking for money ,I am not greed like them, i am not suing for money I will just make sure that this hospital will be shut dawn, and most of the nurses and employees must know their mistakes and carelessness. Date expired milk for breakfast, forgetting meal, not caring rude and manyyyyyyy more…………:

  • Zoe Metz

this hospital. don’t even get me started on this disgusting, awful, lifeless hospital, literally. if you want to die, than go to this hospital. two of my family members died in this hospital. TWO. and get this: in the same. damn. room. i urge you, do NOT GO HERE. no matter how close it is to you. please do not go here. the extra 20 minute drive will save you a life. it truly will. trust me and the many other 1 star reviews on here. please.

  • Nora Gonzaga

I brought my mother to this hospital and was admitted twice within the 3 month period.. The doctors, nurses, other health team members were competent, compassionate and very professional. The care provided to my mother were excellent, doctors and nurses kept me updated of her daily progress etc. Overall, this hospital is very clean, serene atmosphere and health professional cares about the well being of patients under their watch.

  • Kadi Nlemvo

Worst hospital EVER!!! I understand we are going thru a pandemic and nurses are busy but when I called to find out how my father was doing in the ER I was on hold for like 30mins and no answer... Call for a 2nd time and was on hold for 40min by the 3rd time all they could tell me was that if the nurses was busy there was nothing they could do. I wasn't able to get info about my father till the 2nd day of him being in the hospital.

  • Bodi`B Bodi

I asked for a Ulta sound of my throat because of shortness of breath plus fluid to move in places that are not meant for fluid and wasn't able to be served with it but they want to do what they want to get my money from my medical card funding and wasn't sure what even was causing my heart to fall out of order but they just ran with something I all ready know so they can come up on some money for the government.

  • sepideh Tahbaz

Terrible hospital nobody is responsible for any thing. My mom went to emergency room last month February to ER she lost her phone at the hospital. I talked with the supervisor of the hospital "Anna" about the phone and she addressed me to somebody else. When i talked to her she said we are not responsible for anything not even the patients. Be careful where you go for care

  • Chasity Powell

Horrible customer service. Long wait (3 hours). People (3) that got here after me called before me. Do I have to jump off the roof to get help? I would give it a 0 star but I can't. Rude nurse (intake). Lots of homeless that hang out in bathroom so you can't get in there. I wish there were another place to get medically cleared for inpatient mental health issues.

  • Caroline Pringle

The staff was wonderful to me and I can not say enough about how well I was treated !!! The surgean Dr.Kanjia who did an incredible job of repairing my non union broken ankle from a podiatrist with little experience. He literally saved my ability to walk !!! Clean friendly smart staff . I feel very grateful to have been to this hospital. Thank you all !!!

  • Tiffany Perez

My mom had a broken foot no car they prescribed her medicine but didn't send to pharmacy gave her a paper prescription when we went to pharmacy they said they can't fill it should be electronically called hospital they told me to keep going to different pharmacies that it be worth it ... because he was lazy to send electronically

  • Brandon Pascal

Come here if you want to waste 4 hours of your life and get lip service before you die. I don’t know if it’s severely understaffed or poorly ran but I do not recommend coming here if you value your life or sending people you care about here. I write this as of sitting in the lobby waiting to be seen going on 4 hours.

  • Nina

Was having a really hard time breathing in the lobby and had to wait 20+ minutes even though there was only one other patient in there. Didn't give me an inhaler or any oxygen. Was not taken seriously at all, waited an hour for x ray results. They said nothing was wrong turns out my lungs were actually inflated.

  • K Aesthetics LA

I have been mistreated by Dr Austin William!!!! I’m a lupus patient and I require a lot of care for pain etc he treated me like I was a druggie!!! The worst care ever in my life!!!!!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS HOSPITAL BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you are really sick and in pain please do not go here Take my advice!!!!

  • Shanelle Taylor

I went in by ambulance and was treated really quickly. I had to get blood drawn and an IV and the nurse did a good job...very minimal pain and the IV wasn't uncomfortable. I was in and out in like two hours and now am home resting. I thought the doctor and nurses were sympathetic and effective and thorough.

  • Mia Christine

Worst E.R. I've experienced. Sat in there for 3 hours to be told they "can't do anything for me". Didn't run any test for my stomach issues like Tarzana Hospital did. Dr. Chang, I believe was his name, had the nerve to ask me, the patient, what he should do for me. Less than a 1 star if there was an option.

  • Allyson Taylor

I was brought in bleeding and after laying on a bed in a hallway I called my physician to get me transferred to St.Johns. I had a burst vein after a surgery and had profuse bleeding from my neck. Had I not been transferred I would have bleed out. The absolute worst care and also filthy

  • Jonathan Stecker

Their billing system is completely broken. The online billing system is completely useless and always says there was an error. Their over the phone billing takes money out of your bank account but doesn't apply it to you balance. Completely awful to deal with, avoid if at all possible.

  • Kuban Key

literally the worst hospital to go to ohhhh & if your of color they will not treat you as if your important they never came to check on me 1 time literally walked pass me all day i had to get up & ask them for medicine multiple times just terrible experience especially if your in pain

  • Maddie Yenis

Worst hospital ever my grandmother was in there over 2 months and they made her more worst then what she came in as they treated her very badly she was basically there for 2 months for no reason bc she past away there in that hospital i would not recommend anyone going there at all

  • Megan Vigil

My appointment was at 9AM on a Wednesday. There was no wait and the staff was so lovely. I didn’t feel a thing despite being a little nervous. The gentlemen handed me all the information and I even got a little heart-shaped cold pack. Will come again (for my second dose ; ))

  • Jean-Louis Delezenne

Helped a neighbor driving her to emergency. After 2 hours of waiting. It took another 30 min to just get a status and see if i could temporarily return home. Would have appreciated some level of a heads up. COMMUNICATION ( especially when requested and nothing happens...)

  • Yamira Miller

Heartfelt thanks to all doctors and nurses at the Sherman Oaks Hospital. Was the best attention my husband could have received. He is now at home and doing really well. Wouldn’t be possible without the quick response of all the staff that were involved in his care.

  • Maria Garcia

This hospital neglects their patients. I was in a level 10 pain .The doctor send me away without giving me anything at the hospital didnt even give me aproper examination, and just send me away . I had to ask ! To he given something for my pain . Just ridiculous

  • Anahid Baghomian

Very unprofessional staff and unorganized facility nurses hung up on your calls and scream at you just for asking about your loved one who is in emergency for more than 24 hrs no ICU room available for critical condition patient and they keep the patient in ER

  • Third-Eye Nomad

A truly fourth-world hospital. The staff and doctors do not care at all about their patients, and the facility will find ways to charge an arm and a leg for every little thing, including taking your vitals. Avoid at all costs. You will not be cared for here.

  • Nancy Jo Gilchrist

I had to go to the emergency room 5 times. I also was admitted for 3 days. Overall, they did their best, but nowhere is perfect and some staff is better than others...just ask for a switch if someone isn't attentive enough! I would recommend this hospital.
