Giving 3 stars because I’ve never had a negative interaction with any of the other pharmacists here. I have been filling my prescriptions at this pharmacy my whole life and I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism and maltreatment like I did today. I had booked an appointment online for one of the illnesses Shoppers says their pharmacists can treat and was told because I have had this same issue within the past year I would have to go somewhere else. Frustrating because I had to spend three hours at urgent care, but that’s completely out of the pharmacists hands. However, when I returned to fill the prescription I had obtained from urgent care, Nila (the same pharmacist I was dealing with before) ignored me while on the computer for roughly 5 minutes before even acknowledging me standing there, looks at my prescription, and then proceeds to treat me like I’m stupid, saying that she “already told me” that she had run out of that medication. Why would she have told me that she was out of a random medication when she would not prescribe me anything? Right, because she didn’t. Extremely rude, unprofessional, and disrespectful person to be having behind the counter dealing with the public. I used to love filling my prescriptions here, however after my interaction with Nila, I will be taking my business elsewhere as I cannot support a business that allows their employees to treat their customers with such disrespect. Nila, I hope you can learn that treating people with the same respect they give you is vital when working with the public.
I have lived in the area my whole life - for the last 25 years I have frequented this shoppers on a weekly basis. I went in on Saturday the 28th with my friend (who I believe they profiled because he had his hood on and sunglasses as it was cold and sunny that day) and instantly we were followed around and borderline harassed by a brown haired tall woman. I did my business and went to pay when she ambushed me with an empty drink container accusing me of drinking it and leaving it in the aisle…. I was buying a drink for myself so I’m not sure why she would think I would come into their store, drink a drink without paying and than go buy an additional drink…. She starts mentioning my friend who is wearing the hood saying we drank store merchandise without paying. It was mortifying as we had seen family friends and were actively talking to them when she approached us with accusations. I’m not sure if Shoppers pays their employees extra to accuse their customers of theft but I would think twice about entering this store as they seem to have no issues with slander and profiling.
I sent in a request for a refill for a prescription, female pharmacist called and left a message stating it wouldn’t not be in last Saturday, but instead will be in on Monday. I go in on Monday and nobody has a clue what I am talking about and proceed to tell me it is on back order until who knows when and that I can call every Shoppers in town to find out if they have any. I call the wonderful Shoppers in Ancaster and they were actually kind enough to find a location with the prescription for me and then tell me that there is a link on all Shoppers sites called “Shoppers Drug Finder” where I would be able to instantly see who has it. Shoppers on Concession was the least helpful and inadequate. I am not sure why I was told it would be in on Monday when it’s on back order or why they couldn’t help me to find a pharmacy that has it or at least point me to the online link. Seriously not happy with their service!!
I often visit this location and I always have a positive experience. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They are also accommodating regarding my service dog. I mostly go here for good deals (usually clearance/ special sales) for chocolate and candy, while taking my dog for a walk. I have also purchased hygiene/ Toiletries products when on sale. There was one instance where my regular pharmacy was out of a prescription that I required, and getting the item from here was quite easy to do. The Open 24 Hours is very convenient, and is great to have a location with a variety of items that is always open. The only criticism that I have is that there is only one regular checkout, and the rest are self checkouts. This hasn't been too much of an issue for me since I go during hours which aren't busy, but can see how it would be frustrating when the store is busy. I prefer the regular checkouts.
Slow service often especially the older cashiers. Somehow one of the older ones decided to get involved with the adjacent Canada Post and told me it's closed despite me waiting in line for 15 mins since they only have one person serving and a customer took 10 mins arguing. It's only convenient for local people who have no other errands to run otherwise choose a different location. Their security is also extremely odd and literally trailed me for the entire time I was in store. I had to call the manager who told me she would speak to him. Do better with your location - you're a busy site and literally the bottom of the barrel from service at cosmetics, security, Canada Post and cashiers. Smfh
I really like how clean and well stocked the store is. The staff are very friendly and obliging. The only problem I have is that the store is truly too cold to shop in. I have to get in and get out quickly. And, seeing the staff having to wear winter coats while on shift because they are so cold feels off-putting to me. Is there some way to make the temperature more bearable, please? I simply won’t shop at this location during the summer months due to the extreme cold in the store making it far too uncomfortable to shop. And that’s too bad for me because I like the store. Thank you.
went in to buy some snacks, proceeded to be followed around by the security guard from aisle to aisle. when i’d see her looking at me i would smile, and each time she just looked back angrily. there were many other customers in the store, i don’t think i even saw her glance at anyone else. she was even carefully watching me check out, and i could see her looking at me through the glass doors as i left. i’ve never encountered a security guard that followed me around THIS closely. not sure why she had zero interest in any of the other customers in the store.
Please remove the 24 hours sign on your store front. I visited the pharmacy on the 17th hour of may 22nd and you were closed therefor this business is technically not open 24 hours. False advertisement and a blatant lie….lastly how does Hamilton not have one shoppers drug mart open on Victoria Day yet there are many Tim Hortons open. Get your doo doo together Hamilton jeeeeez. I checked Guelph Kitchener Mississauga Brampton and Toronto which all have plenty of pharmacies open today considering it’s a health issue.
If I could have left no stars it would be generous.... I was in today and they have converted all but one till to self checkout. In the recent past, I've stood in line the use the staffed checkout because I don't work there.... Today no one at the checkout and after standing there waiting for a while, I decided to use the self checkout... the units are set up for midgets, I'm 6'2".... very hardtosee the damn screen and figure out how to use it... now I know why I hate using your store.
Went in with a perscription to be filled and when I handed the paper to the clerk they flat out said that there was nothing in stock. (This was at 10pm) I went home empty handed; 3 hours had passed and I got a call from the same clerk that they had some available. The clerk working that evening completely wasted my time 10 fold by me having to drive back to get the perscription that was needed. Completely un acceptable.
The store employees are wonderful. Unfortunately the pharmacy staff are not. Technically competent, but bad communication skills and customer service. Any inquiry if they received a prescription and if it is ready for pick up feels like a game of 20 questions. Simple things, manageable things that seem beyond their ability to communicate. Why pay higher dispensing fees for bad service?
This location is very convenient for people who are working nightshifts' and only have the time to shop after work in the middle of the night! If there was any downside - the security guards kind of follow you around and makes you feel like you shouldn't be shopping at that time of night, but I know they're only doing their job for theft-prevention especially at those odd hours.
Went to use my benefits for my insulin and they wouldn't sell it to me even tho I transferred my prescription over already and had valid ID on me , was told I had to go to emergency to get insulin if I needed it becuase they can't check in store and have to "call in" to get approval. So the had me leave with a dangerously high sugar level. Really appreciated.
Awesome services and great display set ups for the various departments and often great security for night shift, makes all feel safer. Glad to know of such a well stocked shop available 24/7 except for holidays. Use to be a true 24/7 shop, well stocked produce isle and dairy products.
Not sure how this pharmacy doesn’t have a rating for “ best pharmacy in the gta” working in pharmacy I know you won’t find better. I want to say thank you to the entire staff for always ensuring the customer leaves happy. We appreciate your hard work !
Most Shoppers locations are pretty much the same but thus one has exstended hours. I have been here a few times and found the store well stocked but watch the prices as they can tend to be a bit high except when items are on sale.
I do not like to use self check outs, and the only check out with an employee won't accept debit or credit (even though the machine works). I use the pharmacy for the 24-hour service, but I won't shop here for anything else.
Feminine hygiene products were blocked off Thanksgiving Monday night, this is the only location open in Hamilton. Absolutely not okay! Tampons and pads are not cosmetic, they are a necessity
One of the very few Shoppers open 24 hrs anymore. Was in town and found we needed their services at 1am. Clean. Friendly. Efficient.
Went in at 3 am with a migraine, the pharmacist was kind and helpful. Wonderful experience I’m very thankful
