Darrell from Sims and Sons scammed us out of $1000. He was unpleasant to work with and he took advantage of us.* Sims and Sons came out to assess a leak I had. They gave me two options. One was a temporary fix that was a grand and one was a permanent fix for $2400. I trusted the plumbers to provide us with viable options and selected the $1000 fix and figured when we had more money saved we could go back and correct it for good. The temp fix lasted 5 days. They wanted to charge me the full $2400 to do the permanent fix when I had just paid $1000 for an option they provided that lasted 5 days. Darrell's employee even said it was "weird" the fix only lasted for 5 days. When I said that wasn't fair they were going to give me $100 off. I said no, and we ended our call. The boss, Darrell, called me. Very odd, but he said he listened in on my phone call with his employee, which I found really creepy. I did not enjoy my conversation with him. In the end he offered to do the permanent fix for $2,000. My partner and I discussed it and decided we did not want to continue to work with them. Darrell and Sims and Sons did not stand behind their work for even 5 days. They must be desperate for business if they were willing to keep our $1000. Made this whole experience take way longer than it had to and is disheartening. Do not recommend. *if anyone is considering working with Darrell I recommend reading his response to my review. I will no longer spend my energy engaging with this company. Save your money and peace of mind and find a reliable plumber recommended by someone you trust.

When some other electrician left us with extremely shoddy work and unresolved issued, Ely and Graham from Sims & Sons stepped the hell up and saved the day. From start to finish, working with Sims & Sons was great. Initially we called just to have repairs done to the completely botched induction range install the previous guy did, but our first chat with Darrell left us feeling like we'd found someone who knew their ish, so we gave them the whole list: move some outlets and switches, reroute a bunch of conduit, ground the electric, install ceiling lights and outlets where none existed, fix an outlet that'd be busted 10+ years, remove some lights from one switch and run them to another, etc., etc. Ely and Graham worked together to come up with a solution for the range, and it was clear that Ely has some serious creative problem solving skills. Everything was up and running within a day (whereas the previous guys took three days and two different crews just to make our lives harder). Ely walked me through every repair, update, and change they'd made while Graham cleaned up (like, *actually* cleaned up. it was dope). They were also very attentive to the fact that we had some of the same power tools laying around that they had, and made sure nothing got swapped or accidentally taken at the end of the day. Seriously. Huge props to Darrell, Ely, and Graham. 10/10, A+, 100%.

I live in a condo unit that has good bones but has never been updated - ever. So the first step was to update the electrical system. Nate was one of a few electricians I met with to find out what was needed and estimate the cost. He made some really good observations, checked out the existing panel and submitted an the estimate that worked for my budget. He started the following week with another electrician, Graham, and, for about a half day with Christian. … I’m not even sure what they did but Nate, Graham, and Christian, worked over a day and a half on the project. In the end, there was a new, upgraded electrical panel, wires pulled for several outlets and switches. They installed an outlet for a dryer, another for a microwave, light switches with dimmers, GFCI switches, under cabinets lights. These guys were great! Unfortunately drywall will cover all the work. The drywall repairs will be straight forward because the openings were cleanly cut. They covered counters and appliances with plastic, cleaned the workspace each day and took their waste with them. They were respectful, careful, deliberate, and pleasant to work with. I had a chance to talk to the Darryl, the owner, at the end of the job who was as respectful and professional as the crew that worked in my condo. This was a great experience and I’m very happy with the outcome!

I called them to come solve my numerous electrical issues at a high rise - the guys gave me a great quote and we proceeded with work. Time frame was excellent and work was completed quickly. I had an electrical panel installed and numerous new circuits and lines pulled and fixed. The scope of the work ended up being much more involved than the original quote but owner honored the quote he gave me. I remodel homes and i was very satisfied with detailed explanation of each step and ability to figure out best plan of action together. The company follows current code requirements and also made all the upgrades with room to easily add more in the future. I know its hard to find qualified and reliable electricians that want do work in high rises because of all the extra steps needed dealing with the association but i was very satisfied with the quality of the job. The electrician even corrected 2 outlets that had issues in a different part of the house that were not in the original quote. I will definitely use them in the future and all my next projects that require a professional electrician services. Thank you !!!

Short Story: Extremely happy with the service that Darrell provided. Christian was the best and Romero was equally helpful. Long Story: I called on a Thursday afternoon and he came same day to give a quote on a replacement panel. Explained to me the scope of the job and gave a quote within an hour- From the time I called him. Called at 2:45PM on a Thursday, came to the house by 3PM showed him what needed to be done and he knew the job in and out. Removing Existing service - Replacing the 100 Amp panel and reworking some wires, new cold water ground, everything needed to make our 1960 service brand new. Christian and Romero come though exactly on time, explained what they were going to do got it done in one day. I have had the same job done at another house and it took 3 days. These two rocked the job and banged it out. Can't thank them enough. Good work gentleman. If you want a solid job, quick turn around, a real electrician, someone who is going to take the job serious and not try and take advantage this is your guy. 100% recommend you call them.

We had both plumbing and electrical done in our home with Sims & Sons. A few small electrical things were done easily and promptly and our plumbing needs (3 new toilets, haul away, and a new full shower set) was done thoroughly. Charles, our main plumber, was incredible. Thoughtful and transparent, he talked us through the entire process anytime there was a decision to be made or something unexpected. We could sense he really cared about his work and was going to take the time to make sure it was done right. We are very happy with the results and would highly suggest Charles and staff for your home’s needs. Our only quibble: scheduling. It was TERRIBLY challenging to get the office to respond with our quote and to then schedule once we received the quote. Be vigilant and they will get back to you eventually. It took us a month from quote until service even though we know they had openings the week after our estimate. Hoping they can address the office issues in the future for easier customer service and acquisition.

Very professional. Chris came out to survey our condo building's outdoor lighting that had stopped working and look into installing a CO detector and moving an exhaust fan switch in our garage. He identified a faulty neutral line on the lights and quoted a price range with an amount they would not exceed (based on how long it took to troubleshoot the faulty wire). Chris and Graham came out to do the work a couple days later and were on time and prepared. The fan switch and detector were quickly and properly installed as I specified. The outdoor lighting was trickier as there was both a faulty photocell and they had to check the wiring connecting a dozen lamps across the building before finding that one that had been installed incorrectly with a pinched wire. The lights came on that night and look great. They took the time to explain what they did and checked up the next day to make sure everything worked. I also appreciated that I had a "worst case" price before they started. Would definitely recommend.

After a different plumber replaced my garbage disposal, that plumber announced that the power to the unit was not working and that I would have to call an electrician to finish installing the disposal. That plumber charged me almost 500 dollars for his work and left. Needing an electrician, I called Sims and Sons based on their reviews. They quickly texted back, requested that I describe the problem in a text and then set up an appointment at my requested time. Two electricians, Dean and Dino showed up at the appointed time then diagnosed and fixed the issue , all within less than thirty minutes. The electricians wore Covid protection and were respectful of the property the entire time they were present. More importantly, they were extremely knowledgeable and very professional and enjoyable to have on the premises. I would highly encourage any person having plumbing or electric issues to contact Sims and Sons. You will be glad that you did.

After being snubbed by an electrician on Thumbtack (do not recommend) I found Sims and Sons on Google, and they were very responsive; got out here to do a walkthrough, gave me a quote and were able to come out right after Thanksgiving. Definitely next level service: Darrell and Dylan came out and got right to work. Even with extra complications from the age of my building and having to do a lot more work than anticipated, they were jovial, funny and enjoyable to be around and took the time to explain what they were doing. I had a 240-line run from my electrical panel across my house to my laundry closet to install a new electric dryer, another 240 run to my range to replace my gas stove, and an outlet installed in the bathroom for a bidet. They were so polite and cleaned up my place after everything - I mean swept, mopped, wiped down every surface that had any dust and left my place cleaner than it was before.

I can't recommend Darrell enough. He's honest, hardworking and personable - to say nothing about the quality of the work. We started with getting quotes for installing bidets and bathroom fans. Darrell was the only one to come out and inspect the house before giving us a quote. We ended up hiring him for a whole home lighting project. 14 can lights and replacing the trims on 20 more, 2 ceiling fans, 3 bathroom fans, a smart doorbell, and 6 outlets. There were issues (there always are) and every time Darrell immediately let me know, and told me how he was going to fix it. His employees are great. Friendly and they cleaned up after well. His price is very fair. His quote was much lower than other companies. The job went long, but the price never went up. I will be recommending him to friends and family, and I will be contacting him first for any future projects.

We needed someone to check for wiring issues for a fixture that kept losing power. First of all they were very responsive and easy to schedule with. I contacted a few other places as well that never even responded. Then they followed up to confirm the appointment and were right on schedule. Christian and Ramiro called to let us know arrival time, and were very easy and pleasant to work with. They ensured that the wiring and connections were safe and up to code, then explained the possible problems and gave us options of next steps. The only thing the company could improve is communicating the $185 fee for service calls. I understood the "free estimate" to mean that they would decide how much work would be needed then the charge, but it was $185 to even begin the call. Otherwise, was 100% pleased with the company and service.

Sims and Sons helped me replace my under mount cabinet lights in the kitchen. Darrell was quick to respond regarding the estimate and helped me decide what direction to go with the lights (LED bar, LED puck, or other options I hadn't thought of) because I was having trouble deciding what was best. Dino and Eli showed up right on time to do the work and walked me through how they were going to install the lights and offered to answer any questions/concerns I had. They were professional, knowledgable and courteous. Also, they seem to make a good team because they outlined a plan and got to work quickly. I am very pleased with how the lights look, I went with LED puck lights with a dimmer switch. They are honestly better than I imagined. I had a very favorable experience and would use Sims and Sons again in the future.

We had a faulty toilet that was leaking and causing issues. Darrell came out right away and was able to remove it and get a new toilet installed within a couple hours. Darrell's team did a great job, and also did all the extras to go above and beyond. They were safe and wore masks, left the work area spotless, and worked around us while we were working from home (in a 1-bedroom apartment). He even worked with our neighbors downstairs to help us out with cleaning the leak as affordably as possible. We highly recommend Sims and Sons. Sims & Sons are great! Zeno and David were quick and professional. In about an hour, Zeno and David were able to move a 500+ lbs refrigerator, diagnose the leaky water line, run out to buy a replacement braided stainless steel hose, reinstall the new hose, and move the refrigerator back. During the initial conversations, there was a question regarding the water shut-off for the refrigerator water line and code compliance (turned out to be a non-issue) -- scoping out the work in a responsible and compliant manner was very much appreciated. I got the sense that this was a reputable company and not one that can be categorized as "one and done". I will definitely reach out Sims & Sons for any future plumbing and electrical needs for my home.

Can’t say enough about good things about my experience with Sims and Sons Electric and Plumbing. Was looking to add electrical and a ceiling fan to a bedroom that didn’t have it and shortly after reaching out for a quote, Darrell contacted back with a fair price and scheduled me for a last minute appointment the week of Christmas. Enis came out to do the work and I could tell he knew exactly what he was doing and was able to explain everything thoroughly. There’s always a sigh of relief when you know the person working on your home is a true a professional and master of their craft. Enis also wore a mask and had his own shoe covers, which made the Mrs. extremely happy. Can’t beat the customer service and quality of their work!

I cannot say enough great things about this company. During the weekend our Air Conditioner went out and after having it replaced, the breakers blew overnight on Monday. It was a miracle it didn't cause a fire to our home. Given that I have two young children at home, we needed a quick solution. The owner of Sims and Sons called me immediately, diagnosed the issue and was able to come the next day to completely replace the circuit board, breakers, wiring and AC connection. It turns out the inspector completely missed that the panel / breakers were non-compliant and this was a huge risk. The electricians were professional, thoughtful and quick to act for our family. And they explained things every step of the way.

Finally, a quality and reliable contractor! After disappointing experiences with random online services, I found Sims and Sons. I’m so glad I did. The price for services was reasonable, and they exceeded my expectations on difficult request of removing a 26’ high ceiling fan that was incorrectly installed by an online service. I needed scaffold to reach. An entire team showed up, removed my door, moved my fridge, and worked so quickly but professionally. The whole crew was very personable, and kept the noise to a minimum as my infant twins slept, without me asking. They read the room. Swept the work site clean, and the work was quality. The only tough part is scheduling - they’re popular because they’re good!

5 stars is not nearly enough. 1000% recommend Sims & Sons. We had a major issue with flickering lights and appliances not working on a Sunday and Sims responded quickly. They actually answered the phone on a Sunday!!!! They came prepared and addressed the issues competently and quickly They stayed until they were certain that we had power and it was being delivered safely. They were here well into the night due to issues with ComEd. They also followed up with all questions (many) we had the next day. Everything is running great and we will definitely be calling again if their services are ever needed in the future. It's never great to need an electrician but we are happy to have Sims and Sons on speed dial.

I contacted Sims & Sons because my dishwasher was not training. They scheduled me immediately but, unfortunately because I was in a meeting, I was not home at the time I was scheduled. Eddie, the plumbing technician, contacted me and was very understanding and worked to find a time that would work for me as soon as possible. When Eddie and the other plumbing technician, David, showed up, they were very professional and immediately diagnosed my issue as not a plumbing problem, but a problem with the dishwasher itself. I was not charged for their assessment. I had a great experience with Sims & Sons and will certainly be contacting them for any plumbing or electrical issues I have in the future.

I reached out to Sims & Sons to remove Romex wire and replace it with metallic conduit. I was able to schedule a free estimate quickly, and I found that their electricians were prompt, friendly and very knowledgeable. This gave me the confidence to proceed with the repair. The work was completed on time, and Sims & Sons also helped me find a quality drywall repair service to complete the patching. While at my home, the electricians also helped me with some smaller wiring jobs at no additional cost, which was much appreciated. Highly recommend Darrell and Sims & Sons. They provide high quality electrical work at a fair price and you can feel confident that they are not overselling you on what needs to be done. Darrell came out to assess an electrical problem in my bathroom and diagnosed the problem right away, fixing it 30 mins later during the same visit, on the same day. From start to finish I was thoroughly impressed by the work done by Darrell and Ennis. We needed outdoor lighting installed and Darrell came out at no charge to take a look at what needed to be done in order to provide an accurate estimate. We had a great experience with Nel and Enis for several lighting installations and dimmer switches! The estimate was scheduled within 2 days of making contact, and the installation was able to be scheduled 2 days later - very quick timeline. Additionally, we had contacted Darrell to see if he could send a plumber to our property, and we had a great experience with Zeno. Darrell came out to address an issue with our hall light fixture not lighting up and it turns out it was my user error with the bulbs I purchased. He was patient and explained what had happened and how to find this note on the bulbs so that it would not happen again in the future. I felt stupid for making him come all the way out here but he reiterated he wanted to make sure I didn't get taken advantage of. He then said he would not charge me for the assistance which was above and beyond and incredible customer service on his part. We will be calling Sims & Sons for any future electrical problems! Fast, clean and efficient! Sims and Sons was able to come look at our electric problem super quick and told us what needed to be done. Gave us a quote and we booked a day to have our new power box installed. When the day of the job came, everything was done in an orderly fashion. Our walls had to be cut, and these men cleaned as they went! No drywall dust in sight! Once our main electric box panel was placed, Darrell was able to label what switch went to what room, and made sure I understood what controlled each room. I am happy to say I finally have power back and restored into my condo and two new fabulous electric box panels 10/10 recommend!!!

Amazing customer service! I called 10+ electricians and couldn't even get a call back, with with Sims & Sons, Darrel not only called me back within an hour, but he had someone at my house within 30 minutes of our call. One of their electricians, Ennis, was able to fix our outdoor socket that wasn't working, essentially saving the holiday season since now our holiday lights will work. Beyond the service, both Darrel and Ennis were able to explain the situation to me and walk me through what happened and how to avoid it next time, which I appreciated. Pricing was great but the turnaround was super impressive. Highly recommend them!

Darrell is a fantastic electrician. This was not the first time I've utilized his services, and it certainly won't be the last. He's extremely knowledgable and, when requested, takes the time to explain what he's doing and why. During his most recent visit, he installed a pendant for me (pictured) as well as a dimmer switch. As someone who knows nothing about the trades, this was super valuable for me! Not only is he extremely talented, but you can also tell that he is a good man who genuinely cares about his customers and doing a good job. I highly recommend his services!

I've called Sims & Sons twice in the last two weeks to take care of a couple different electrical repairs at my place. They are quick to respond - the best among many I contacted for a quote They employ experienced licensed professionals that come in on time giving you a call before arriving. They are careful and courteous at all times while repairing things and explain what they're doing in response to the issue or problem. They work cleanly and fast. Their fees were the best prices among other professional services I quoted. - I'd definitely hire them again.

Darrell came out on short notice on a chilly Saturday and got our house fixed. The power went out on a cold day and we called a few places, Darrell was the only one who got back to us. He showed up promptly, diagnosed what was wrong, went and got the parts needed, and installed them right away; he even coordinated with ComEd to make sure things were run properly outside and put our panel back together with everything up and running when he left. Couldn't have asked for a better experience and he saved us from spending a cold night without power in December.

We called Sims and Sons for a quote for some exterior security lighting on our condo building. Darryl came out the next day to look at our building, and gave some extremely insightful suggestions about what we should do. He gave us multiple quotes, for different levels of work, and was extremely helpful and communicative. When it came to the work itself, they were quick and efficient. Later that day, we noticed a small issue, and Darryl responded to my text immediately, and Mike came out the very next morning to remedy the issue. Would highly recommend!

I had Sims & Sons work on moving and replacing a chandelier in my condo. They were very quick to come evaluate the project and give me an idea of what would be involved. The team was much cleaner and faster than I anticipated, and the only problem was that there was a small issue with the new light once it was installed. However, they stayed to help me to troubleshoot the problem without additional cost, and it turned out to be due to a very specific, uncommon designer requirement for that light that they provided me the resources to remedy.

I've hired Sims and Sons to do quite a few different jobs now. Ranging from the very small that I probably could have handled myself, to the very large that I certainly could not, and they have been excellent every time. Most recently, Dylan came by to help put some new can lights in our loft, and I couldn't be happier. They worked tirelessly all day and by 5pm our home was transformed and made that much better. We are (hopefully) done with projects to do in our new home, but Sims and Sons will be the first I call for whatever it may be.

My third time using Sims & Sons for electrical and plumbing work and I couldn't be happier with their team. Eli, Gram and BJ did a great job replacing my whole electrical panel, setting expectations throughout the process and testing everything thoroughly. Each time I've called Darrell for quotes, I appreciate he's been very transparent about not only the costs, but also about which projects I should prioritize and which ones are not urgent and can wait. I will continue to use Sims and Sons for all my electrical and plumbing needs.

Our upstairs neighbors had a leak in their bathroom late on a Friday afternoon, which then leaked into our electrical panel, knocking off power in part of our condo and leaving our entire panel and all circuit breakers wet. We called Sims & Sons and they responded immediately, replacing the damaged breakers and drying out the panel. We were greatly relieved to have this done so soon and not have to keep worrying over the weekend about a possible electrical fire. We will use Sims & Sons for whatever electrical needs we have.

Darrell from Sims and Son's was amazing, I would highly recommend. I called on Friday afternoon for an emergency call, he communicated what emergency call pricing and regular pricing. Being very clear on the process. and what to expect. When they couldn't come Friday, they went out of their way to come on Saturday, which they don't typically do. They were professional, efficient and went out their way to explain the issue and go out of their way to make the experience a 5 star one. Would highly highly recommend!

Had an ancient outdoor hose faucet replaced by Sims and Sons Plumbing and they were very responsive and easy to schedule with. Most follow up and scheduling communication was done with the phone line over text message, which was very convenient and organized. The price was reasonable and they stood behind their work as there was a problem initially with the replacement faucet which they quickly resolved with no hassle. Everyone who came to my home was very professional and on time.

We just bought a 1924 bungalow that had a panel from 1967, wasn’t grounded, and needed to be moved to the side of the house from under the porch. Darrell was no-nonsense, got us scheduled within a week of his assessment visit (when other companies were telling us it would be months before they could get us in). Anel then came out with an awesome team (Eli, Graham, and Delvin), and knocked out the big job in one day. So friendly, fast, knowledgeable, and competent! Hire these guys!

Great company and quality work. Had a shower valve installed and pipes repaired about a month ago during a bathroom renovation. After attempting to install the faucet, had an issue with the valve cartridge. Contacted the company and Eddie came out same day and fixed the issue, plus tested to make sure my faucet was working as intended. I happily have running water in my shower again! Can't recommend this company enough. Will call them again for any of my future plumbing needs.

Sims & Sons provided outstanding service when we hired them to rewire our garbage disposal and dishwasher. From prompt and professional quotation by Darrell to efficient work by Slobo and Anel, their team delivered top-notch workmanship. In addition, a few weeks later we had Alex and Ronnie replace 7 water shut off valves, and I was thoroughly satisfied with their work as well. Based on these experiences, I highly recommend Sims & Sons for any plumbing or electrical needs.

Zeno was a great help to us in diagnosing a low water pressure issue with our washing machine. Him and his crew came out for a free diagnosis and then returned a couple days later to replace some hoses and valves. Our washing machine works great now! We had multiple other appliance tech icians and plumbers out previously and they couldn't figure it out and charged us just to take a look at it. This was a great value and I'm so relieved that it's finally taken care of!

When I returned from vacation, I noticed black soot around a power outlet, and called Sims and Sons. Anel arrived at our exact meeting time, and was very kind, which is always appreciated. He examined the outlet, thoroughly explained what had happened, fixed it, and cleaned everything up within a few hours. It was a very inexpensive repair which was a relief. I had a great experience with them, and wouldn't hesitate to call them again for any future electrical needs.

Sims and Sons did a wonderful job with the EV charger installation. They worked with me for several weeks to figure out the best route for the conduit to run towards my parking spot. Their work was exceptionally high quality and they explained each step very well. Slovo did a wonderful job carefully reviewing amperage and the installation for the 250v plug. They left the job site exceptionally clean and really understood the wiring and charging for electric cars.

I am absolutely thrilled with the work Darrell's team did for me today. They removed and replaced 13 light fixtures for me throughout my place. Darrell was super helpful as he helped me figure out what to do in a building that is super old with concrete ceilings. Delvin, Cody, and Graham came today to do the work and they were fast, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Will definitely be using Sims & Sons for all of my future electrical work here in Chicago!

I’ve used Sims and Sons 3 times now. They have always been reliable, fairly priced, friendly and knowledgeable. They know what they are doing! They are my go to electricians now. Today the owner, Darryl, came by very quickly for me. My electricity went out when a circuit breaker wouldn’t respond. He fixed it in 5 min and explained everything to me. We had an emergency electric issue with our dishwasher after a dishwasher repairman busted the electricity running to it. Andy came to the rescue from Sims & Sons. You could tell he knew exactly what he was doing. Our circuit panel isn’t labeled and he figured out which breaker was for the dishwasher quickly and replaced it (plus labeled it). Then he realized there was a pinch in the wire which caused the problem. Our dishwasher is back up and running now.

Our AC went out in July and we thought it was a circuit breaker issue. I called Sims and Sons on a Sunday morning thinking I would have to wait until Monday just to talk to someone. The owner called me back that morning and walked me through steps to check myself if it was an electrical issue. He was so pleasant and helpful and I can tell he really cares about the work he does. I will always use this company from now on for plumbing/electric fixes!

I can highly recommend Sims & Sons for your electrical project needs. I had laundry list of updates I wanted to make to my house including adding a new exterior outlet, moving existing outlets, and running new circuits. Christian and Romero came by and knocked all of it out quickly and professionally. They were very thorough and kept everything clean despite having to open quite a few segments of drywall and drilling through exterior brick walls.

Darry was great when I sent inquires on getting new panel installed for the purchase of my new home! He gave accurate information and fair pricing. I schedule with him and they communicated wonderfully! The day before the install I got a message confirming everything. The day of the install they showed up on time with a phone call stating they are on the way! Anel was great. He was very polite and cleaned up everything! I highly recommend them!

Listened to my issue, gave me a VERY reasonable quote to fix my electric panel and was done in a couple minutes. Very pleasant and professional.

Our fire and carbon monoxide alarm began “chirping” to notify us it had reached its ten year life expectancy. I replaced with a new one, but could not get it working correctly. In addition, my amateur installation tripped a breaker and we were without electricity in part of our home. Sims & Sons came on a Sunday within hours of our call and installed alarm and fixed the breaker. Fast, courteous and reasonably priced. We would highly recommend.

We called Sam’s and sons we had power out. They came out in an emergency restored power upon doing that they noticed there was an issue at my main panel gave me a quote to change the panel and upgrade the service and correct my other varying issues throughout my home and branch circuitry they dedicated Five circuits in the kitchen from beginning to end they were responsive They were responsive quality work good price might go to Electrician’s

We own a 3-flat, and one of our tenants called us letting us know part of his power was out. It was 4:55 PM! I immediately started calling electricians on Google. Darrell was the first person to pick-up, and an hour later our issue was fixed. Darrell is professional, intelligent, and communicative. Working with him was a great experience! We will be calling him shortly for additional preventative work that needs to be completed on the house.

I contacted Sims & Sons Electric because they're local to my home and were well reviewed. I respect that they're family owned and was very pleased with the response time and the technicians who came out. They let me know they were running early and gave me the option of having them arrive sooner than scheduled. The work was explained, my questions were answered, and they left the area very tidy. I have an old, multi-family building. I've had Darrell, Ennis, Zeno, Eddie, and several others from Sims & Sons out to my property over the last year to do several electrical and plumbing repairs. They are trustworthy, professional, efficient, punctual, and always leave me with a solid understanding of what happened and what I'm paying for. I always feel like I'm in good hands when they're on my property taking care of something.

Sims & Sons removed track lighting and installed can lighting in our West Town living/dining room in April 2021. They did an outstanding job. Darrell walked me through the project in a patient and helpful way, suggesting layouts for the lights and answering any questions I had. His team, Enos and Arel (apologies for any misspellings), worked efficiently and with great care for our home. I give Sims & Sons my highest endorsement.

Had Sims & Sons out a couple times for separate issues and have only positive things to say. They were able to quickly identify and repair an outdoor broken neutral wire for our courtyard and then replaced significant amounts of broken and damaged outdoor 120v wiring. Also had them look at and modify the electric to my wall oven that was preventing a replacement oven from fitting and had everything good to go in under an hour!

I thought I had a small breaker issue turns out my feeder wires were aluminum and cloth, needed to be removed and service was severely undersized. Darrell and the Sims and sons team pulled permits and worked with comes flawlessly and upgraded my service to a 400amp and provided and installed 4 new panels. Great experience!! Awesome service!! Will be recommending them to all my friends and family!! Keep up the good work!

Christian and Romero from Sims and Sons were magnificent! Courteous, Prompt, Communicative, and they did exactly what they said they’d do—WELL and for exactly the price they quoted—I have an old house and garage with wacky wiring and everything and they EVEN installed the outlet as I asked so the plug faced the right way for me to hang the charger up - hiring them to do more projects starting in another week!

Dylan and Shlomo spent hours adding all new fixtures and cleaning up all the old cabling in our basement. Worked with our tenants and with myself (out of town ) to get the work done, they went and picked up the fixtures, continually called/txted and kept me updated with progress. Will definitely be using them again in the future for any of our electrical needs, highly recommend! Very friendly and thorough!

I had an outdoor post light in the front yard that didn't work. Anel arrived on time. He was professional and explained what he was doing. After a bit of trouble shooting, he efficiently replaced the outlet and switch. I now have light on a very dark street. While not a major repair, my overall experience with Sims & Sons was great and I would definitely use them for bigger jobs. Super responsive as well.

We used Sims to install five ceiling lights, new undercabinet lighting, a new ceiling fan, a new wall outlet, repair switches, and several other tasks for our home. Andy and Slobo did the work and they were excellent. They communicated very well and checked often to make sure they were meeting our needs. They were very responsive and good problem-solvers throughout. We will definitely use Sims again!

We had an appointment set for October 12th. Darryl called and said he had to pick up his son. He would have someone out the next day. No problem. Andy came out on the 13th. Looked at the repair, took some pictures and said someone would be in touch with an estimate. Today is October 23rd. They never contacted us. Not very professional. If they didn’t want the job, just tell us. A waste of our time.

Of course when it’s 90 degrees and 100% humidity all of our window AC units suddenly stopped working! Darrell came to our rescue and quickly assessed the circuit breaker and outlets and resolved the issue. I was so impressed that he answered the phone right away and came right over, despite it being 7pm. He was very knowledgeable and knew exactly how to proceed. So thankful we called Sims and Sons!

I have now had two great experiences with Sims and Sons. They are very easy to contact and schedule appointment with. Anel, who worked on replacing the GFCI outlet in my kitchen, came within the time frame specified and was very efficient. The whole process took about 20 minutes! He cleaned up after he was done and was overall very respectful of my space. Would definitely use Sims and Sons again!

Darrell was great! Came out to give an estimate for installing an EV charger in my garage. Showed me my options and was at the same price point as my other estimates, but included a couple of extras the others did not. Was available to start right away and did a fast, but very thorough and professional installation. Could not be happier with the service and quality. Will use again in the future!

I called the owner Darrell, on a Sunday for an emergency situation and he was the only company that could ACTUALLY provide same day service. He showed up to the property within 2 hours, and while we were on the phone he explained the issue to me and provided a great solution that saved me money long term. I had a great experience with Sims and Sons. Darrell and Anel were in and out in about 45 minutes and replaced a couple of electrical switches in our house that we were having problems with. It has been a few days and they are working great now. The price seemed right in line with what I expected and they were both friendly and responsive. I did my research and knew how I wanted my charger installed, but Darrell offered some suggestions that made it even better at a competitive price. Darrell and his team did such an exceptional job at replacing my ceiling fan with flush mount and install two sconces. From the initial communication with Darrell, he was very transparent with how they would complete the work and provided various options for me to make sure I felt good about the work and the price. Nate and his team were fantastic. Efficient, diligent, and knowledgeable. My issue required ordering a special part and subsequent installation. The team showed up exactly when they said they would on our next appointment. They tested everything several times and stayed until they were satisfied the work was completed correctly. Very pleased and will use them again.

Our outdoor electrical outlet stopped working. They came the same day to replace them with the correct grounded outlet that was not initially installed. The electrician was very polite and installed waterproof covers and fixed an indoor light switch as well. He explained in great detail all the prices and was very helpful and professional. Fast and Professional! Dino and Eli came out the next day after placing a service request and were able to diagnose the issue with an outdoor light that was tripping the circuit breaker. And the plumber he sent -- Zeno -- arrived early and did a wonderful job in record time, all while explaining everything and answering many questions about plumbing issues in old houses -- a real expert! While our house was undergoing water mitigation, the fans and dehumidifiers drying out the house fried our circuit breaker, blowing the power out to about a third of the house. From the time we called Sims & Sons to the moment our power came back on took less than an hour. The service was fast and friendly!
