For the longest time I have been totally disenchanted with the pricing of dental procedures in Australia and have opted to have top quality work done in Croatia and enjoy a lovely holiday and still have change left over for what it would have cost here. I mention this to underscore the degree of conversion I have had with Chitra Rao at Smile Place, which was recommended by my very exacting daughter after she and her 3 boys all had good experiences there. The procedures, which in my case have ranged from restorative to crowns, have been painless, top quality and very reasonably priced. Chitra is extremely skilled, communicates procedures clearly and keeps it all very 'real' with some very down-to-earth conversation. While the quality of her work is certainly of paramount importance, the price she charges for that work doesn't disrespect the client, and in any relationship, respect is something that is highly valued. Couldn't recommend her more highly!

Nice practice and friendly staff. Went in for a regular check up and clean with no prior issues. Visit was efficient and I felt, satisfactory based on past experience with other dentists. This was my first visit as I had recently moved to the area. Was turned off by the excess costs for a regular visit/clean and the duplication of a like-item which increased the invoice by $70 as one item wasn't covered by my (top) extras. When enquiring with my health insurance, they confirmed what I'd already suspected - that the items were the same service, so couldn't be claimed together. These 2 items totaled $190 just for the clean. The overall visit was nearly $300 before the claim. That's almost double what I've ever experienced (and my last dentist was inner!). I did see some reviews about the excess charges and I was disappointed to experience the same.

I have been seeing dentists in many countries around the world (including here in Melbourne) and Dr. Chitra Rao and Dr. Arathy Rao are by far, the best I have experienced. These sister Doctors really care about their patients and go out of their way to ensure that the best interest of the patients (including me and my family) are addressed, and not that of the practice. Thanks to them I now can say that my oral hygiene is at its best after over 50 years of trying. I would not hesitate to recommend them to my family and friends (as a matter of fact I have already so). But don't take my word, go to Tacoma Dental and experience for yourself, professionalism and an extremely high degree of care, that I am guessing you have never experienced with other Dentists, and that I now enjoy.

I visited Smile Dental earlier this year complaining of a few persistent issues and requesting a clean, but after the very quick cleaning appointment I was assured there was nothing to worry about, I had no signs of any issues and the clean had gone perfectly. I've since visited my previous dentist in the city, who immediately saw signs of gum problems, took x-rays and discovered my concerns were accurate. I need three immediate appointments over the next month to remove built-up tartar, to avoid me suffering gum problems for the rest of my life. He also discovered (and showed me) evidence of what a quick, surface-level clean the other dentist had provided. Very disappointed. I'm just glad I thought to get it checked a second time.

From the very first phone call to make an appointment, the entire team from the receptionist to the Dentists at Smile place clinic in Tecoma have been amazing. Chitra's care plan for my child resulted in beautifully straight teeth and more importantly corrected his bite. Throughout the whole process which took approximately a year Chitra was kind, professional and flexible. She easily communicates with adults and children creating a warm and safe atmosphere. The payment plan was very helpful and the after care services ensure the results are lasting. Chitra is very clearly passionate and knowledgable and I would recommend her for anyone seeking dental care - especially braces!

After a thorough consultation, Chitra recommended having 4 crowns to correct my front teeth. I could not have been happier with the results. The care and great communication from the team at Smile Place Dental was outstanding. This is a dental practice that has fantastic customer service and a caring and considerate staff. As an Actor, I was conscious of my teeth and I now feel completely confident in auditions. A big thanks to Chitra and her team - she now looks after my family and several friends, who are all very happy with the care they receive. Dr Chitra Rao was truly wonderful when seeing my 12 year old daughter to be reviewed and fitted with a new myobrace. She did a thorough assessment, communicated sensitively for my child's level of understanding, and was very kind and caring towards us given we were recently impacted by the 2020 bushfires. I recommend her highly for both dental knowledge and professionalism, as well as her generosity and personal care for our wellbeing.

What an amazing dental clinic Smile Place Dental are. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and very welcoming of all patients. All the dentists are absoloutley fantastic and really take their time to make sure you are comfortable and happy with everything they have provided for you. Had such a positive experience at the dentist today with dr Charles and Kelley. Thank you so much for removing my wisdom tooth that was causing me pain and doing it with such ease. The customer service was just top notch from reception all the way to the end of my appointment. Its nice to see such happy people who are genuinely passionate about what they do and so knowledgeable in their field of work. Definitely recommend!

Dodgy dentists - beware! They wouldn't clean my teeth due to concern that I may need antibiotics due to wrist surgery 3 months ago. Fair enough, I'll come back next time and be done with it, but they then proceed to charge $60 for a 30 second look in my mouth. All just to tell me I'll need a clean next time. They are more concerned with scrapping every dollar out of your pocket than providing professional dental care!

Really great experience. Broke a tooth/filling, they gave me an appointment on same day to fix. Receptionist was great with communication and very nice to talk to. Arathy was my dentist and she was wonderful (so to her dental nurse/assistant), fixed my tooth within 30 mins, and help set up a plan for some other work I needed. I grew up terrified of dentists, these guys make the experience much better.

Thank you so much to Chitra and her team at Smile Place. I now have a smile I'm happy with. Within 7 months my teeth have been transformed from very crooked to straight and bright. It's absolutely amazing. Everyone at the clinic has been so friendly, caring and helpful. At last I have found a dental practice that I'm happy to go to regularly. Definately not the closest dentist from our home, but when you find a good one- it is worth the drive!. From the receptionist, to the assistant and of course the dentist - everyone is pleasant and helpful. Dr Arathy is very thorough, explains what she's doing, and as gentle as can be. The whole team at Smile Tecoma have been amazing. My daughter had Fast Braces put on by Chitra who is so kind and gentle. Each adjustment visit was fast and informative, we felt supported the whole way. The braces have come of in just 5.5 months and my daughters teeth look incredible!
