I took my time to write this because I really wanted to fully express how amazing Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home was to my family and I. My sister passed away very unexpectedly and although all death is unexpected... hers was truly something we had never thought about planning. We were given a list of funeral homes in a packet that we received from the hospital with the title "What to do when a loved one passes." I called the first one that caught my eye and was instantly approached with pricing on minimum services. I was in shock and proceeded with telling them what we were looking for. I left that phone call with a very bad feeling and began to call around to a few other places. Smith-Corcoran answered on a Saturday evening around 8 PM and were the most kind and courteous people that I had spoken to. Tristian, the mortician, was the one I spoke with. He began to explain the process in detail as well as explaining that they have an on sight crematorium. He said that my sister would be solely in his care from the moment she arrived to them. This instantly made me and my family feel at ease. He let me know that he takes pride and care in what he does and will care for our loved one as if they were his own. We obviously made the decision to move forward with them... but what also warmed my heart were the other two staff members who helped us on the day of her services. I feel terrible for not remembering the name of the woman who took down all of the names for floral arrangements that were sent, but she was such a doll. She made sure to tract down every last sender so that we can send them thank you cards. She organized the items that we brought and allowed us to really sit back and mourn my sister. I recently lost my father suddenly and unexpectedly. I was in a state of shock and not familiar with how to plan the next steps. As I Googled funeral homes near me, I made a small request to mine and my dad's guardian angels to direct me to the best place. Well....they delivered! My first contact was Jackie. She was kind and empathetic from the start and talked me through the next steps. My worries started to ease right away while speaking with her. We met with Eric the next day to make preliminary plans. We had many unique requests. My father's wishes were to be cremated and that his funeral and burial be held in his home country. My father's brother is a priest in the US and he wanted to do a prayer service before the cremations. Eric helped us plan for this custom visitation, mini-service and the cremation. They also helped us with setting up a Zoom call to allow them his family and friends that live overseas dial in for the mini-service. My point in sharing this is that they were extremely flexible, thoughtful and respectful to all my dad's and our wishes. During the planning and the day of, we worked with Eric, Jackie and Deanna and they were all amazing, supportive, kind and thoughtful. They are true professionals and adapt to your grief and meet you right where you need them to meet you. Post cremation, they are helping me with all the paperwork for the international transportation of cremains. I am truly lucky and grateful I got to work with this team for such a sensitive time in mine and my family's life.

I cannot say enough good things about them. The final arrangements for my dad were complicated due to our relationship. I had never done this before in my life and I was lost. They told me - honey, that's our job...we'll take care of it for you. And that just gave me such peace at such a hard time for me. They kept me informed and handled things swiftly. They helped me arrange for a military burial. And when I picked up my dad's ashes, I was treated with such respect. I cannot say enough about the team I worked with. I picked them for their high google ratings and they exceeded my expectations. Their rates were reasonable, they were professional, accommodating, and handled things with care and the utmost respect. Thank you for your care and attention to myself and my dad. It really meant so much to me.

With the help and guidance of my aunt's closest friend who'd been a repeat customer to Smith-Corcoran, the whole experience helped ease the process in giving our deceased Mom the traditional service. I am sure my Mom would give her own five star rating. Sam, our funeral director, who helped us was particularly pleasant, professional yet still personable -good conversationalist. To note, we were even given a waived fee out of the kind heart of Mr. Smith. Not to forget, the rest of everybody in the staff was also very helpful and warm. I take heart when they say "As a family owned business we know the importance of trust and compassion especially at a time of need." I trust these folks.

Everyone at Smith Corcoran made an otherwise very challenging and emotional time so much easier and comfortable. Jackie in particular was so nice and empathetic and efficient and proactive. She anticipated our questions and needs and provided multiple solutions to choose from. The room was nice and the services provided were beyond our expectations. I especially appreciated the liaison Smith Corcoran was for us between Calvary Cemetery, the Church and the US Veterans Administration. All of the arrangements were taken care of in essentially a half day. I could not give a higher recommendation for Smith Corcoran funeral services.

Jay Smith was very helpful in pre-planning my mother's arrangements years before we actually needed their services. It was the first time I had ever done arrangements before a death had occurred but it was nice that Mom had a say in what her final wishes were. When Mom passed away it was amazing not to have to make hasty decisions and not feel like we were forgetting anything. With CoVid restrictions in place, Smith Corcoran had a very efficient set up and we were still able to honor Mom in a comforting way. The whole Smith Corcoran team made a difficult time very easy for our family. Would highly recommend them.

I had attended my best friends, moms funeral at this location and everyone was so great. So when my dad passed away unexpectedly, we called Smith-Corcoran to help us with the arrangements. And we spoke with JACKIE who was just awesome. She made the process so easy she was very kind and understanding of the whole situation and from the moment my dad was picked up from the day of the funeral everyone was so brief and accommodating. I really appreciated the service that was given to us during this hard time. I’m just grateful to have had them take care of my dad during this time. They are definitely an amazing team.

Jay and team were fantastic throughout the entire experience. My father-in-law directed funerals for 50 years, and through conversations over the years, I have learned a few things about the business. SC exceeded expectations in almost every facet. My mother was very happy with their empathic and patient approach, which was a big deal to my siblings and me. Pricing was fair and they go to great lengths to make the whole process as easy as possible. The level of professionalism that my family received from Kate Kavouris who handled all the funeral arrangements was outstanding. No detail was left untouched and Kate's support at a difficult time was very much appreciated. I wish there was a Kate I could work with on a variety of matters. I was here for a memorial service recently and the common areas were SO LOUD with guest talking and children running around that we could barely hear the speakers at the service. It is unfortunate that none of the home's employees were able to manage the situation. They really need to ensure that noise from other services are not interfering with concurrent services and get much better soundproofing.

Absolutely unhappy with how Kelly handled us getting (not getting) all of the flowers that our family and friends sent. My husbands service was on a Saturday and our deadline to get them was Monday. When you're mourning that's not exactly a priority. There was no reminder/call or text. Flowers last weeks, so no reason to throw them away. Find another place for your family member's funeral.

Was very disappointed with how they treated my family while in mourning. They threw away thousands of dollars of flower arrangements without even giving us notice. Other funeral homes deliver them to the mourning families. Also they allowed family members who did not pay for the funeral to just walk away with the sympathy cards, make decisions and take the registry. Would not recommend.

Thank you Jay and Dana and the rest of the staff over there. You made everything so simple for me and my family for my dad’s passing. Everything from the initial phone call, the on-site visit, the visitation services, the funeral, cremation, and last but not least...the exquisite care of my dad. Smith-Corcoran did a wonderful job with my mother's viewing and funeral arrangements. Jackie was caring, compassionate, and sensitive and walked my sisters and me through everything.
