I am very surprised with the customer service I received, considering their reviews. I had scheduled a Teeth cleaning for my 2 dogs. However, I needed to be rescheduled due to my being out of town for family reasons. The first 2 times I rescheduled without any problems. However the third time, due to my still being out of town and problems coordinating for someone to take my dogs, I was treated with disrespect and met with polices they never disclosed to me. Apparently, I am being charged for the service without having the service performed due to a policy they have after the 2nd reschedule. This was the first time I was told about this policy and stated as such especially after all my other calls, and was followed with repeated accusations that I was aware. This was simply the first time I ever was told anything otherwise I would have cancelled flatly due to my situation. Probably the worst part, other than the LAUGHTER by the staff member on the phone with me was the fact that that individual was Chris who is a manager. I am truly appalled with the disrespect and will not bring my business here. I hope this doesn't happen to anybody else, especially considering the number of military families in the San Diego area.

My husband and I took our chocolate Labrador for the first time last Sunday and I have to say I was overwhelmed at the amount of love and attention to detail the staff had for their craft and the animals. It was incredibly easy to book online and everything we needed for the bath was all there. From brushes, towels, aprons, warm cleaning solutions to the temperature of the water, everything was nicely set up and explained to us. Having a dog that is over 100lbs, I am often very hesitant to take him anywhere because he is so big and he can be too much for some people. I was very touched to see how kind and loving they were to my dog and never once made a comment that made me feel like my dog wasn’t welcomed or an inconvenience. I appreciate the thoughtfulness of the store, the kind words, and the love that has been poured in your business. It is evident that you have a very loving team. I’ll make sure to take pictures of Bear next time. Highly recommend.Thank you so much for everything, we will be back soon!

Very friendly/helpful staff and owners, and awesome location. They have a wide variety of choices on their wash menu. You will definitely find what you are looking for. The height of the tubs is perfect. I brought my dogs a few times since it was close to home, but the price is just too much for me. I have two dogs, and at about $25-$35 per dog it is FAR too expensive, especially when I have dogs that love to run in the dirt, and play at dog beach, and MUST have a thorough wash every week and a half or so. My ONLY complaint is that they charged me $3 to use an outdoor dryer…? It seemed really odd. It seems that the drying process should be a part of the cost of the “wash”. And there was nothing special about the dryer, just air blowing out of a hose. LOL! We all know that we cannot get in and out of the dog wash without a treat, so add a couple bully sticks and my bank account is -$90… in summary, nothing negative to say about the facility, just OVER PRICED considering there are SO MANY local options now.

Since the first time we went here, the staff remembers our dog's name. We can skip two months and when we come back they still remember. Okay so admit it you don't wash your dog at home, and if you do, hope it's in your yard...because what a mess. Sure it's a luxury to pay $25 to brush, wash, condition, flea treatment...but really that stinky dog needs pampering. They have the custom tubs with temperature controlled water. The staff will help you wash if you're alone or just need help. If you don't want to spend $25 on a package...ok just bring your own shampoo and the wash only cost is around $10. But really they clean up the hair, the water spayed all over, they way the towels...you really are both worth this cost. You can also buy good dog food here, including raw food. They have toys and special events. Two days a week they have a mobile nail clipper for $17 she can trim any squirrelly dog. They also have puppy classes! Support this family friendly place made of love. You're worth it!

Really bad customer service. Got it to wash my dog at 4:31pm and attendant would not allow it because they close the washing stations at 4:30pm. She wouldn’t change her mind. Long time neighbors and this attitude is less than desirable. Avoid this place. EDIT for the owner: No, your staff wasn’t doing their job. If that was the case then you should be out of business. Your staff was rude, condescending and unhelpful as she was on the phone. She asked if we were some people who “walked out on them” or something and I had no clue what she was talking about. This negative attitude was obviously on purpose (WHILE still holding a phone on her ear). If this is how you treat your regular neighbors then boy oh boy. But if your answer as a business owner is that your staff was “doing their job” then I understand where this attitude comes from.

I use this place for the anesthesia free teeth cleaning that they host sometimes. I love the service and that they are willing to host this for cleanings. They are great when my dogs teeth are getting some build up but it’s not worth putting them under anesthesia yet. My dogs are hyper and one isn’t a huge fan of people who are not his mom and dad but they are able to work on both pups and get their teeth like new without too much stress. They are also very willing to let you know when they need a deeper cleaning. The shop is always super organized and has a great vibe to it. I love shopping there for my dogs while they are getting worked on. They have fun toys and treats my picky eaters love.

New to the area but not new to washing dogs, fluffy girl is starting to blow out so she needed a basic wash. The service was one of the cheaper services but what a service it was. Employees ensured I knew how to work the hose and pressure, made sure my pup was calm and happy, gave me a run down on how long to use their products, and of course was socially distanced from other customers. Pupper is pretty much a veteran with the force dryer but was still fitted with an ear hood just in case. Despite my being short I was given step stools on both sides of the tub and was overall very comfortable with the experience. Will definitely go again!

We took our pup in for the anesthesia-free teeth cleaning. The tech was absolutely amazing. During the cleaning, they saw that our pup had a broken tooth. They let us know as soon as they found the broken tooth and didn't charge us for the appointment since we'd need to spend hundreds at the vet for an anesthesia cleaning and tooth extraction. We are so grateful they didn't charge us, took good care of our boy, and did an amazing job on the teeth they were able clean (before and after photo attached). We will definitely be back for regular cleanings! Also, tons of amazing treats here! Perfect for raw-fed pups.

I called to ask a quick question around 4:40 pm today. I Wasn’t able to ask anything because I was put on hold right away for 10 minutes. I hung up after the 10 minutes and called back just for them to have their phone offline. It’s very frustrating when you’re trying to get info. I’ve been coming here for 3 yrs now and this is the first time I’m completely dissatisfied and disappointed in their customer service. I feel like the woman who answered the phone didn’t want to answer questions or phones anymore since it’s close to quitting time (5pm) Such a shame, I will definitely not ever come back here.

If you're one minute past 6:30pm, they won't let you use the wash station. I walked in at 6:31 and they told me I couldn't use the wash station because they had already started sanitizing the tubs. From what I saw, there were at least 4 tubs and one person had started cleaning one of the tubs. Unless he started cleaning way before 6:30pm, he wouldn't have gotten around to having cleaned all the tubs within one minute. I even asked if I could just do a quick rinse with water only and they refused. FYI, they close at 7pm.

We love this place...and more importantly, the dogs do too! The setup is great with the outdoor space for waiting/brushingand then nice high tubs for washing. The people who work here clearly love dogs and are very helpful. I have an old large dog and they helped lift her in and out of the tub for me. They think of all of the details and the blueberry products smell divine! My dogs felt soft and smelled great for days afterwards. We'll keep coming back...especially after fun at the Grape Street dog park.

Not the dog bark of old but still a great place to clean your dog. What a place where you have everything you need and then some to clean your dog and they clean up the mess you and your dog make. But best of all they have heavy duty dryers for those big dog with lots of hair. When I'm drying my dog it looks like it had snowed in South Bark in the patio where you dry your dog. The hair my dog sends everywhere is all white, what a mess. You should try it if you haven't. Great place to bond with your dog.

This was the most outstanding self wash I have ever experienced. They were helpful as can be, have way more supplies than anyone else out there and different packages to fit every dog. You get what you pay for! They gave my dog a facial and helped instructing me through each step and giving advice. Usually places just hand you the soap and want nothing more to do with you. After his bath they all happily complimented my dog and gave him encouragement after his water torture

Although I disagree on pricing (cost for 8lb dog same as 75lb). This is a great go to for all dog lovers. The menu boasts an array of do it yourself doggy services. The helpers are very loving to your pooch, offering blueberry non toxic vegan facials with all services and yummy treats. They calmed our Miso down with loving touch during the facial. After a day Miso is flea free, soft and smells great. The flea shampoo and conditioner definitely did the trick!

Great place to wash your own dog, they provide with a nice patio to brush before and blow dry after. They offer additional services like ear and teeth cleaning and prices are reasonable, they also offer a good selection in food, toys and accessories. They provide excellent service and if your pup needs nail trimming or filing they can make an appointment for the service available during the weekend. Will definitely visit again and will recommend to friends.

I brought my Shepherd mix Roux in for a full service bath with Jean (by special request because she does an amazing job!) We requested the de-shedding package with the de-shedding mud because she’s shedding like crazy! We picked her up and she looked and smelled great and has barely been shedding at all since! South Bark always does an amazing job and I will always suggest them for any of your pets needs!

I took my baby here today! And you guys are amazing. My dog has fear towards other dogs ever since she was attacked and they totally understood my situation and offered to take me in as soon as they opened. The pup loves it like a spa day and I loved it because I didn't have a mess to clean up. All their products were clear so no harmful dyes or chemicals! The pups also get a blueberry facial that's made in house and makes the pup smell delicious! I've been here 3 times in the past week, and they're awesome every time. Greet me as soon as I walk in, walk me through the bathing process and assist me if I need it, and answer all my questions (and trust me, I have a lot) without ever acting like I'm a bother. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and honest! This has absolutely become a favorite place.

Love this place! I drove here from El Cajon to give it a try as the self grooming place in LA Mesa just wasn't cutting it. Here they actually talk to you and your dog. Being very kind. Also the blueberry shampoo is sooo worth it. They even had a little hood for my scared sheltie as I blow dried him. Definitely worth the cost for great service and equipment.

Just brought my new dog Cocoa here for the first time and I’m so glad I did! The groomer was really sweet and patient with my anxious dog and he did a fantastic job. I called to make an appointment for a wash and de-shedder blow out for my husky and they scheduled me the next day. Everyone was so friendly and helpful, one of the ladies helped me find a clean food for my dog that was close to what I already had before moving here. I also got her back all clean and with a stylish new pink bandana.

All I can say is WOW! We had the anesthesia-free teeth cleaning for our dogs here and the results are just incredible. Lisa did an amazing job and was patient with our dog who has anxiety with new people/ environments. I cannot be happier with the whole process. Don't forget to buy some cool treats for your pup in the shop!

Great service and it’s so cool how they have all types of shampoo/conditioning combos. My dog smelled like a cupcake after we left. Especially liked the hypoallergenic shampoo and the blueberry facial. Only reason for 4 stars is that it’s a bit pricey, for washing your own pet but I think it’s worth it once in a while!

I made an appointment online for both of my dogs. The staff greeted me by name and had 2 tubs ready and waiting for me. We got the blueberry special with ear cleaning and dryer. They have made everything so easy compared to my bathtub at home. I highly recommend the dryer. I will be bringing my dogs here for now on.

I have personally only taken advantage of the self-wash services at southbark but have had a great experience both times. The elevated tubs save my back. I came in today and had a very good experience with staff. I came in with no appointment but they gladly fit me into the schedule and they were patient with me. The quality of the product they have in the store is great and will be coming back, some of the things they sell is hard to find in a regular pet store.

My dog was smelly af. I was hoping I'd find a good reasonably priced groomer to take care of my puppy and give her a good thorough bath and trim her nails. BAD Experience. I was in the neighborhood for an event and was given a coupon for 1/2 off dog wash. Coupon says the dog wash is open until 7 pm but when I showed up at 6:22 they told me I couldn't wash my dog. Beware this "Dog wash" says they close at 7 but the last wash is really 6:20.

Been coming here to take the dog a bath. The products that were used are awesome. Staff are always extremely friendly and knowledge of that products that were used for bathing and products that are for sale. Prices for baths depends on the bath itself but are really reasonable.

Best place to take your dog for a bath. They are very helpful. My dog loves the facial. So much easier than at home. All the water from shaking and the hair is their mess to clean up after. They even give you the towels.

Insanely friendly staff. They give you everything you need to wash and dry your dog on weekends. We did the hypoallergenic wash was $24, they gave us towels and then took us to a place to air dry as well with combs.

Eacel was great! Our girl's first time at the groomer and she did very well with the deshed and nail clipping. I could feel a dramatic difference in her coat, there was so much less hair flying everywhere.
