Clean park with many trails and shelters. There is a creek in the park and two playgrounds. It is a super fun place for kids, adults, and dogs. There is a big hill that is good for sledding in the winter, although it tends to be crowded. They tap trees for maple syrup too!!!
Playground
Two playgrounds with plenty of slides, swings, and places to climb. One has an especially unique merry-go-round.
Restrooms
Primarily port a potty.
Dog-friendliness
Great place to bring the dogs.
Picnic area
There are many places to picnic scattered around the park. Some are sheltered, and some aren't. There are trash cans nearby all tables.

This park is fantastic. There are multiple shelters to hold gatherings, paved trails, and dirt trails that go through the wooded area along a creek. The trails, shelters, and other amenities are well maintained, and the park has always seemed safe for myself and others in groups or alone. There's also a great hill for sledding in the winter.
Restrooms
There are shelter houses and porta-potties that are as clean or cleaner than you'd expect in a public park.
Dog-friendliness
Dogs are welcome, but should be kept on leash.
Picnic area
There are multiple covered picnic areas and numerous picnic tables around the park.

Mid August 2020: This park has a very good selection of paved and unpaved trails. The paved trail is 2.5 miles long. The unpaved trails are decently maintained and is a very, pretty Forest Trail that is roughly two miles long if you do all the loops.. None of the trails are super long but the whole park seems to be very well maintained. Also seems like a very good place to ride your bicycle if you wish. Update November 2020: Took another walk today. Late afternoon, was warm for the season. Lots of people enjoying the weather. We did the loopin the other direction than last time.

Southeastway Park is an unassuming park located in, surprise, southeast Indianapolis (outside 465). I would absolutely recommend visiting this park if you live within 20 minutes of it. They have been consistently improving the park over the last decade: adding paved bike/walking paths, renovating restrooms, and adding a new, bigger playground. I grew up near this park and would frequent its trails in the woods, play in the creek, and have many memories from parties and other activities. Overall, this park is always clean and a great space to relax and have fun!

One of the best parks around the Indianapolis area. Shelters are well kept & well used. Be sure to reserve ahead & be aware they are in demand. Plently of tables at various points throughout the park, too. Open spaces are plentiful. Playground is updated. Tons of paved handicap accessible trails that wind through the entire park. Unpaved trails will take you to the creek. Educational programs are available at the office, including summer programs for children.

We love Southeastway! It is a very family and dog-friendly park with an easy paved path going all the way around the park. There is a nature center, tons of shelter houses, 2 large playgrounds plenty of shade. It has a huge hill to sled on in the winter and hiking trails that go into the woods. Something for everyone and very clean and well kept with lots of garbage cans around. I highly recommend!

The trail was full of interesting critters that were fun to discover. Definitely wear bug repellent! It was easy for the kids to walk too. There are many picnic tables to use and the reserved table areas are clearly marked. The park is huge so it was nice to walk around and explore even after we were finished with the trail and making our way to the playground.

Beautiful park with lots of shade and shelter. Walk or hike the trails out to buck Creek and wade in the clear water. There are paved walks as well for bikes, strollers, etc. You can fish the pond by the welcome center or take the kids to either of two playgrounds depending on age and skill. Tons of green space even on really busy days.

Great facility for any sized gathering. Everything is well maintained. Trails through woods or across the green areas. Hiking, biking, walking the dog, or taking kids to playground is all covered. Trails are not strenuous. Shelters available for rent. Lots of picnic tables. Hay rides available. Good sledding hill. Needs more restrooms.

Southeast Parkway park was awesome the trails were nice and clean and yes I understand that this word in Darien but if they were still nice and clean my friend and I and and my dog went for a long walk and it was very nice I took pictures of him walking around playing in the water my dogs enjoyed the trip and so did me and my friend

Gorgeous park with a number of trails. The main, paved trail is nice and very easy to walk while there are a few dirt trails that wind through the woods surrounding the area and a few great spots to watch the neighboring stream flow by. Lots of squirrels to watch and even a few danger noodles slithering around.

We have booked a shelter for August. Family reunion. Can't wait, the park is very pretty.1 Large playground and 1 smaller playground. Restroom buildings and also porta potties , also have a wheelchair one first time I've ever seen one for Handicap . Pretty awesome I think ❤ sorry I didn't get more pics. …

Beautiful, tree-lined roads and paved paths weave between shelters and play areas. This was a great venue for a charitable 5k benefiting Whalen's Heroes and their mission to provide veterans in treatment for PTSD with service dogs! We also saw a group of Greyhound owners who met for a group venture!

Southeastway Park has something for everyone. Group/solo hikes, jogging, and walking. You can go biking on the roads and paved paths. Multiple play areas for kids. Multiple venues for group events with restrooms, covered picnic tables, and large charcoal grills. Covered venues should be reserved.

Nice park. Long walking trails on paved trails or the woods, we enjoy both. Always clean and the kiddos have fun on play ground. Lots of shelters and picnic tables. It is definitely worth visiting if you like walking and nature. And it has restrooms and dog friendly.

  • Don Payton

This is a really nice park with lots of area and trails. Wish we had more of these parks closer to me. Plenty of places to walk your dog as long as you keep them on a leash. Couple really large playgrounds. One more for older kids and another one for younger ones

  • Marsha Reyes

Paved and non-paved woodsy trails that go by a river/stream. Park is very clean. Pet friendly, bike friendly, family friendly. Enough room on trails for social distancing. 2 playgrounds (1 is for the younger kids) well kept. Several picnic areas are large.

  • Kiandra Draper

Has great trails through the woods that go along side Buck Creek. There are several picnic tables throughout the entire park. At least 10 shelters spread out. 2 or 3 different playgrounds. There are also paved trails in the front of the park near the road.

I hadn't been here for nearly 20 years. Clean park, met some great people including this pup, Lucy. Great escape from the hustle and bustle. Even with the haze from the wildfires up north and the 100-degree heat, it was still a very pleasant return.
