Service here is a mixed bag depending on who you get as a vet. The last two visits we saw Dr. Tobiansky, and frankly it hasn’t been pleasant. About a month ago our youngest dog was seen for a rash. We hadn’t been to this particular office for a while so the records were sketchy. When we purchased Flea and Heart meds, the implication was made that we hadn’t been keeping up with flea and heartworm meds because we hadn’t purchased any from SSAH in over a year. Simply put, we’d had both our dogs spayed at emancipet the previous year and had stocked up on heartgard and flea meds since their prices were so low. The attitude we got from the clerk at SSAH was palpable upon informing her of the actual situation. Ok. We didn’t buy our flea and heart meds from you. So that means we never bought them at all? As for today’s visit, Dr Tobiansky is a good veterinarian, but lacks empathy and is both condescending and dismissive to pet parents. You get the feeling she’s mentally scolding you with her passive aggressiveness. We left feeling judged and somewhat vilified for our pets accident that prompted our visit. As we were leaving, my wife was walking our dog out the front door when one of the male vet’s literally barged in with a suitcase in tow and practically ran over her and our dog who’d just been treated. He had a sour look on his face and made no apology to my wife, even though he was being incredibly rude. I don’t think we’re going back. If one of the vets has that kind of attitude toward customers and dogs, then we are moving on. It’s a shame too. When we first started coming here, we really thought it was a good place with caring people. Apparently we were mistaken. I will give props to Inez, the receptionist. She was the only person during our entire visit, who was kind and responsive to our concerns. But, given the male doctor’s attitude coming in the door and the attitude, of the vet who saw our dog, I just don’t think so. .

We haven't been patients here very long, and I know the pandemic has been very difficult for everyone. However, I was really disappointed in a recent interaction here and we are moving vets because of it. Our cat had an appointment that happened to fall on the same day as our moving day. In blazing heat, I loaded her and our four kids into the car and made the trek to the clinic, which is across town from us. An accident on 183 brought us to a standstill, so I texted the clinic to let them know we'd be late--got a reply saying fine, let us know when you're here. When we arrived twelve minutes late, we were told we'd have to be a work-in. Fine, at that point I'd agree to almost anything rather than having made a pointless trip. A few minutes later, they called me back to tell me that our appointment cost was $70 (I think that's right) but our "work-in fee" would be an additional $110, and "was that okay". Um, no, NOT OKAY. Even after re-explaining that their system told me it would be fine AND the difficulties I was having getting there, the person who answered the phone just said, "sorry..." and just sat there. I let him know we'd be changing practices and hung up the phone. We'd been commuting to SS because people rate it so highly, but since all anyone sees right now is their pet being carried inside any clinic, to be given no leeway on one late appointment just blew the "customer experience" score entirely.

Our experience would have been rated with five stars if we’d worked with Dr. Bates on both of our visits to this animal hospital. Although Dr. Tobiansky seemed to care about our animal and conduct appropriate tests, she lacked adequate interpersonal skills when communicating with us. Being somewhat knowledgeable about potential ailments of our pet, we had questions especially with the critical state he was in. She didn’t seem to like having to answer additional questions, and made assumptions about our animal instead of asking open-ended questions to learn more. For example, she insinuated that, with the condition he presented with, he was neglected and left alone for long periods of time (My husband and I both work from home, and this was not at all the case.). We felt a tone of condescension and dismissiveness almost throughout our entire time speaking with her about our pet. Her passive-aggressive comments culminated with her not saying goodbye/addressing us at the end of our visit. This interaction was a reminder that quality veterinary care entails not only caring for animals, but also treating their owners/parents with the same level of kindness and respect.

I cannot say enough good things about Spicewood Spring Animal Hospital and specifically Dr Bates. Our old pup has been seeing Dr Bates for over 10 years and we know that she truly cares about us and our precious dog. We recommend the whole practice to literally everyone we know that has animals. SSAH is wonderful at letting you know what they think is necessary, what isn't, and how to think about care for your pet both long and short term. We have always appreciated the extremely kind but frank and honest opinions that have helped our dog and our friends' dogs stay healthy or get healthy, even in emergency situations. We're grateful that Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital is in our neighborhood but we would drive over an hour to take our pup here if needed. Your furry family member is truly in great hands with Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital! * If you travel internationally at all, Dr Bates is an expert on Health Certificates for travel. We have taken our pup oversees multiple times and never stress about having the right paperwork because we know that Dr Bates has it covered. Nothing like peace of mind when coordinating travel with a pet!*

VERY EXPENSIVE #1... Not the most friendly staff, rather stiff.... I had an appointment I made 30 days in advance for a very important treatment (Heartworms)... I gave my new lil rescue dog all 30 days of 'twice a day' antibiotics and we have to wait 30 days for the first injection after finishing those pills ... made the appointment 30 days ago... confirmed it more than 3 times via a text confirmation(s) the days before and an email confirmation too, even confirmed again in the AM of the appointment via Text... they called me 30 minutes before the 9 AM appointment that a Doctor had to be there to consult me before I could get the injection.... I had taken the Day Off~!! I told them I did not need a Doctor to consult me as I had already been given a consultation with the doctor and have ALL paperwork etc., etc. So I decided this place was not trustworthy on this anymore... I am worried about the Dog's health already and trusted them to attend to this properly and ASAP. It was mismanaged and I cannot not trust them any further. I have moved my Dog to another Veterinarian ~ Marc

I've been taking my sweet, sweet hound for 5+ years to Spicewood, and they've been FANTASTIC the entire time (so much so, my husband switched his two dogs from the vet he'd had since they were puppies over to Spicewoods after seeing how awesome they were with my doggo!). I can't say enough about how great the entire team is, and how friendly and knowledgeable they are as well. When my sweet Juniper was diagnosed with cancer, they were very reasonable and rational with my options, and didn't try to up-sell me, or give me any sort of run-around. Clearly, they wanted to do what was best for all of us, and they were very clear with all our options. Unfortunately, her cancer was terminal. I'm so thankful that I was with able to be with her as she crossed the rainbow bridge, and I'm even more thankful to have had Dr. Goldenberg & Dr. Wagner's support. They handed an emotional and tough situation with grace and kindness I'll never forget. I would 100% recommend Spicewood Springs to anyone looking for high-quality veterinary care with a lot of love and kindness.

I have been going to Spicewood Spring s Animal Hospital for years. Dr Bates is my Vet. She is so upbeat, smiling all the time & answers your questions & makes suggestions but no pressure as to what you should do. I have a cat & now that they have the cat hospital it really is an awesome addition to just treat & board the cats there. It was just a routine shot & Sterling is a little anxious but handles it well. He doesn’t have problems with the vet handling him or even a tech. But this tech who I did not get her name seem a little too confident while I was concerned about Sterling since he seemed more stressed than usual. I could hear him yowling in the room which I was not with him & it really in-nerved me that he was so upset because he doesn’t normally do that when being boarded or getting shots, exams. Sure he is a little anxious but I wasn’t pleased & wanted to know what was up. I may inquire. But that is the ONLY incident that has upset me. Otherwise stellar customer service, they go above & beyond. And they treat our pets like family! SR

I'm so happy that I was referred to this place from a co-worker. This place went above and beyond and saved my dogs life. I have been going to another vet that is insane expensive and not the best fit for my dog. My dog Barrett started acting very different. Not eating, deep sleep and no interest in anything. I took her here in instantly and felt so comfortable with the friendly staff and how clean this place is when we came. I met Dr Tran and she was so nice and answered all of my questions. She agreed something is not right and recommended a few options. She mad it clear she did not want to do anything that would not be necessary and waste my money. She took some X-rays and realized my dog was leaking fluids in her stomach. She advised my dig needs emergency surgery. She could not do it here but made several calls to get me into a place right away. The office called the following week to check up on her. This place is truly amazing. Today we are bringing in another dog for an eye problem. This will be our new vet hospital.

I just moved here from out of state and needed a new vet. So far my experience with Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital has been great! They were able to get me in quickly for a new appointment and were so friendly when I visited. The vet and vet tech were so enthusiastic towards my dog, you could tell they really love what they do. Additionally, the front desk staff was very knowledgeable. As I was checking my out, another dog came in and immediately reacted to seeing my dog near the door and did what reactive dogs do: lunge and bark. The front desk staff calmly gave instruction to the other owner on where to go and diffused the situation before either of our pups could get into it. You could tell from how easily they handled the small interaction between our dogs that the front desk staff understand dog behavior well. This was just the spot I was looking for and if you are like me and want a vets office that cares and will remember your pet, this is the spot!

I have used Spicewood Springs Animal Clinic every since I moved to Austin about 4 years ago. I was referred by my niece because when I had lived here a few days only, our golden retriever became ill and they agreed to see me immediately. This was an ongoing and somewhat mysterious ailment plaguing my dog and we had spent thousands of dollars trying to treat her. The vet I saw that day asked up to wait for a short time and eventually returned with an article that described her symptoms perfectly. When out dog tragically passed away, they were incredibly supportive and helped me eventually obtain another dog. I have been going there often, have seen all their vets and have always found them outstanding, kind, knowledgeable and helpful. They are very flexible, their office staff is wonderful and as a lifelong pet owner and lover, I can assure everyone that care provided by Spicewood Springs Animal Clinic is first class in every aspect.

  • Emily McArdle Fort

The entire staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The two things that stand out most are their "bed side" manner and their commitment to their patients (furry and human alike). My dog is slow to warm up to strangers and was won over by receptionists, vet techs, vets, and kennel staff in our first visit. How well they treat her in the kennel or in the back when giving her shots, etc, is proven by her obvious trust in them. The good folks at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital also kept my dog while she was very sick and I was out of state recently. Dr. Benaryeh called me three times a day to give updates on what tests/procedures they were trying and to let me know how she was doing. Thanks to their great care my dog was better and ready to come home when I got back, and thanks to their attentiveness I was able to sleep while away knowing I was up to date and my dog was in good hands. I cannot recommend this animal hospital enough.

I moved to Austin a year and and a half ago. I needed a new vet for my sweet little cat. Kaba is not just a cat he is my family. Ever since I found Spicewood Springs Animal hospital I have had nothing but positive experiences while coming there. I recently had to board my boy and I have never been away from him nor ever left him to he boarded. He stayed with them for 5 days which for him and I was a long time away. I picked him up today and he's home happy and safe. They sent me a picture of my boy while I was gone and let me know all was fine. I appreciate the care they gave him and know should a situation arise where I have to ever do this again I have a safe place to leave him. Thanks for taking such good care of him and giving me peace of mind. If anyone is looking for a vet I would highly recommend you bring your fur baby to Spicewood Springs. Thanks so much from Kaba and his helicopter crazy cat Mom.

We simply love this place and completely trust the doctors here. Our doctor is Dr Bates and she is absolutely the best. We have been visiting her for our pets needs for more than 10 years and have never been disappointed. Our 10 year old dog had an emergency surgery on the week of the winter storm in February of this year. The power went out in the middle of her surgery. It started snowing on top of that leaving us unable to pick up our dog that day. I was so worried and we were so surprised when Dr Benaryeh showed up at our door that evening with Bonny all wrapped up in his arms. They managed to complete her surgery with back up generator and he took the effort of finding our address and driving in the snow just so Bonny could be with us. I think that itself speaks volumes on their level of dedication and love towards pets. We are indeed grateful for having them so close and being there for us. Thank you!

Staff were willing and able to fit my malnourished and flea-bitten poor stray kitten into the schedule the same day, which I am eternally grateful for. Charlotte and Dr. Liu were very kind to the kitten and to me, and were patient enough to answer all my questions. I have another cat who goes to this facility and they have taken great care of him in his critical urinary-tract situation. Their veterinary office is the nicest I’ve ever been in. It’s so relaxing to watch the fish in the cichlid aquarium, I love it. I really get the feeling that this office is well put together, but I think the reception could use an extra set hands to help with the inflow/outflow/phone calls/billing, etc. Julie was very good though and friendly along with helpful. I just wished I could jump in and help her for a little while! Anyways, highly recommended, give them a call and get your fur baby into good hands!

We have been taking our dogs to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital for years, and even though we now live in South Austin we still make the trek up north. I am always impressed with their quality of treatment, the genuine care that the doctors and staff has for our pets, and the transparency with payments and treatment options. We have tried a number of other vets and Spicewood is hands-down our go-to. Here's a pic of our pups after their last visit, which we had to schedule at the very last minute since they'd eaten some grapes! We were able to be seen immediately and now they are good as new. We had tried calling a vet closer to us, and they gave us the run-around and told us they wouldn't be able to see us for the next couple of days. Poison acts fast! So happy to return to Spicewood. We and the pups thank you!

A clean, modern, friendly, eco-conscious, professional environment that provides amazing veterinary care for a quality price. Not to mention the complimentary amenities you just do not receive at other vet clinics to help soothe you no matter the state you are in. With every visit, appointment, and correspondence I've had, I've been shown nothing but patience and understanding. The team at Spicewood Springs is there to help not only your precious pets but is there to ensure they will find a way to accommodate your pets needs while keeping in mind and respecting the wishes of the family as a whole. I would recommend anyone to give Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital their services as they will reap the benefits of a hospital team that truly cares.

I've been to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital maybe 5-6 times with different dogs that I foster for Small Chance Rescue. Every time I go, these people are seriously on top of their game. From the folks at the front desk, to the vet techs and the veterinarians are awesome. They will sit with you and talk through the plan, help you to understand what is going on and why. If you maybe have some different ideas, they will take those under consideration. And veterinary medicine is so expensive now everywhere we go, why not be with people who are kind and listen and really care about your pet? It's all about the dog at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital, and that's why I have a serious crush on this veterinary practice.

  • Alex Petrus

My friend found a stray cat that was limping and needed help, I was trying to avoid a visit to an emergency vet (and paying a premium for it) and after calling 5 or 6 different vets, Spicewood Springs was nice enough to see us that day for an exam. Everyone there has been extremely nice and helpful, Kitty unfortunately had a severely broken leg and needed an amputation. They again were able to make room for him in the schedule and his surgeon at their cat hospital was wonderful. I love the fact that they have a separate cat hospital and makes for a much less stressful experience for him. He is healing fantastically and he is definitely a permanent patient here. I can't thank them enough!

  • Ashley Hornung

I could not write enough positive things about everyone at this practice! My cat had a urinary blockage and the clinic worked so quickly and compassionately to heal him. They were understanding of my budget and worked with me to save his life. He is doing great now and I am so thankful! Please give this place your business! UPDATE: About 6 months after my original post, my dog became sick. The hospital was able to get her in for a check-up and emergency surgery the same day. Their prices were reasonable and everyone at the practice was very kind and responsive to questions. My dog is doing very well now and I completely attribute it to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital and their staff.

  • Esther Martínez

We brought here our cat Blue because he was blocked. He was at another hospital before, but we decided to try this place for the good reviews. They took care of him so quickly. The team that works there is amazing! I spoke with Aron and Dc. Delacey and they arw beyond amazing!! The doctor called me a couple times just to check on Blue, and that really made the difference between other places! He really showed is that they care about the animals. My cat had a new diet and they can text you a link where you can talk to them and order what you need, pay it and they will have that ready to pick up, super easy! I am so glad we found a place where I can trust with my babies!! Thank you guys!

  • Sarah

This clinic has no idea what they are doing. My dog of 14 years was very sick with a heart condition for a long time and a month before she died of congestive heart failure they gave her a “clean bill of health” changed vets immediately to Lakeway Veterinary Clinic and have never been happier. I would never recommend anybody to this clinic for complete lack of “ care”. In response to your questioning me as a client of yours, that’s even worse, I had been seeing you all for 14 years. Great place, obviously they “care” about their clientele enough to give crass responses to legitimate bad reviews. The name you will have on file is Suzanne Cowper, this is not a fake review.

I woke up one morning and found myself needing expert and speedy advice for my male marmoset, was fit into a busy schedule and was helped quickly upon arrival! I was also given upfront and honest advice even if it wasn’t what I wanted to hear for my fur baby. The service and staff was amazing and handled my little guy with care and quickly got him medicated and relieved from his illness to begin the healing process. The next day I received a call from Dr. B checking on my baby and giving further advice. I couldn’t be happier with the professionalism and care from this Animal Hospital in Austin Texas! It was worth the 2 hour drive. Mike & Tracy Morris La Vernia Tx

I LOVE the staff at both the cat hospital and the animal hospital! Recently my ESA became sick and had stopped eating. I took her to the cat hospital where I was immediately helped and was treated with so much care. Both Dr. DeLacey and Dr. Goldenberg helped me find out what was wrong with my furbaby and communicated with me at every step of the way. Three days later and my baby is purring, eating better, and is doing so much better. I had also taken my kitten in for a check up and the staff also asked me about her while I was there for my older furbaby. They really do care and they are incredibly sweet! Thank you so much, you saved my life!

  • Cara Coligan

This is the best vet everrrrrrr. They always do all that they can to get your pet in, almost always have same day appointments for emergency once you are an actual patient. They never pressure you into services you don't need, and never make you feel guilty for not getting everything through them (flea and tick, dog food, vaccines, etc). I have literally gotten every single person from my office to start taking their pets there because they are the best. And this is coming from someone who hates hyping up any type of company, but this is seriously the best vet I have ever been to. 1000/10

  • Suzanne Bazarian

Dr Benaryeh is the most caring, attentive, thorough vet ever! He is so patient and takes all the time we need to answer questions and weigh options. He returns calls quickly. Our dog had the very best care he could have had with Dr B! Sadly, we had to put our sweet dog down recently and Dr B could not have been more sensitive, caring and patient while helping us make the decision and seeing it through with us to the end. Other great things about the practice in general: Easy to get an appt Usually on time On site kennel Friendly, helpful staff at all levels Reasonably priced

  • Ricardo Ortiz

Best veterinary hospital in North Austin! Dr. Crawford is not only an exceptional and trustworthy doctor but you can also see that she truly cares for the well being of your dog as if it was her own. I've been to many places (not even worth naming them) where they always try to over charge you by recommending tests that your dog doesn't really need. This is not the case with Dr. Crawford or any other of the doctors in this practice. They always provide you with the best information and will make sure that your dog receives only what's truly needed.

I recently purchased an AKC German Shepherd puppy and with no hesitation took her to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital where I have taken all of my pets over the last 20 years. Dr. Benaryeh is one of the most compassionate veterinarians I know and he handles my pets as if they were his own. He is extremely knowledgeable and has provided excellent care to all of my animals over the years. He is devoted to his clients as are all of the veterinarians who work for him. The office staff is always, kind, courteous and helpful. They make each visit a joy!

  • John Cook

The staff and practitioners at spicewood springs animal hospital are phenomenal. The facilities are kept to the highest standards. Everything is always clean and inviting. Everyone there is exceptionally caring and skilled at their craft. I take all of my eight animals there and I do not and would not trust any other facility or practitioners. I have had very negative experiences at other places before discovering spicewood springs animal hospital. Now I will never go anywhere else for my pet care needs. A+ to the Nth degree.

  • andrea braendlin

All the vets here are great! The very best thing to me about spicewood springs animal hospital is that every time I’ve had an emergency they are able to work me in-that alone is worth its weight In gold!! They are caring and compassionate and over the years have made accommodations for me such as letting me bring my anxious dog in directly to a room without going through the lobby. The new cat hospital is beautiful and quiet for the kitties I’ve been going here for a decade and I trust these people with my babies❤️

  • Jeanne Wehde

One of our kitties sees Dr. Bates regularly and she is wonderful! I hadn’t moved our other cat to this vet because he’s super cantankerous. I kept him with a vet familiar with him but much further away. Today, he got sick and I couldn’t go that far. Spicewood springs took him as a drop off and took excellent care of him. I could tell he was loved and cared for even if he didn’t love them back. So grateful for Dr. Benaryeh for taking good care of my Stitch. I will be bringing Stitch in to this clinic from now on!

  • Patrick Garcia

Been taking my cat Nero here for 10+ years. Staff is always friendly and helpful and the doctors have always been very caring. Sarah has always been exceptionally helpful and Nero and I appreciate it! All follow ups and billing have always been straightforward and I trust their advice when it comes to treatment and nutrition. They recently got me hooked up with a nebulizer to help Nero with his sneezing/boogers. Extremely hopeful! I also like the free snacks and sodas :P oh, and their fish tank is super pretty!

  • Lisa Milne

I started bringing my cats here about a year ago after my other vet retired. This is a very professionally run clinic, with intake, appo, and check-out all being extremely easy. I have cats with chronic health issues and they have really worked with me to try a work-in appo if one is sick. Appointment prices are reasonable as are shots. They read their emails (so many don't) and respond to calls promptly. Of course, everyone is a wonderful pet parent and loves all animals. Highly recommend.

  • Oana Pop

By far the best, most compassionate vet office I’ve experienced!!! Our schnau Bruce was having stomach issues and we were able to get an appointment the same day. The techs are so detail oriented and Dr. Wagner has been so helpful and kind. It’s especially nice that they can quote you the price before you make a decision. And they make sure you understand each part of the treatment plan. I’m honestly so grateful to this animal hospital! You can tell that the vet and the techs really care!

  • Amy Berenson

I took my dog to Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital when she hurt her leg shortly after moving to Austin. Dr. Benaryeh, and all of the staff took amazing care of her. They were wonderful at following up after she had surgery. Whenever we go back they remember her health history and they take great care of her. We also had to board her when we went out of town unexpectedly and they kept her safe and happy. We are thrilled to have found Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital.

  • Casey W

I’m sad that we can’t go in yet with our fur babies but I felt like the staff was doing a good job handling my cats (one is aggressive). My girls are new patients, just transferred from an out of state clinic. The spicewood springs office called and got all their records sent over and the doctor reviewed them before giving me a call. I had appointments with two diffident doctors and both women were very kind and thoughtful. I feel comfortable bringing my girls back.

  • Jeanie DeLoach

I began taking my many pets to NW Hills Pet Clinic in 1987. I subsequently followed my vet to the Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital and have been taking my dogs and cats to them for many years. SSAH and the people that work there are awesome and very caring individuals. The vets are thorough and informative. They are even willing to work my furbabies into their schedule when I have somewhat urgent concerns. They are always there for me and will be for you too!

  • Jqiatx

This is the best vet in Austin. They can be hard to get in with but there is good reason: they are the best. The front desk staff is thoughtful and detailed oriented. The doctors are caring and attentive. They know my pet’s when they see them. You can do curbside drop off or go in with your pet. They even have overnight pet sitting services. They got so big they made a separate cat hospital! This is where you go to know you and your pet will be cared for.

  • Nicole Silva

Came here today with my new cat Bonnie after just moving to Austin a couple months ago and not knowing where to go for a vet and this place was perfect! The lobby is super cute and has a little chalkboard where they welcome their new patients and all the staff is extremely friendly and personable! A basic exam is also very reasonably priced compared to some of the other vets I went to prior to moving here. Going to bring all my cats here from now on :)

  • Will Holbrook

Highly recommend! Very kind and attentive staff. We brought them three previously stray cats that we have adopted, including two one month old kittens, and they took great care of our kitties and were very generous with their time with us and their explanation of everything that needed to be done. The entire experience was above our expectations from the moment we walked in the door, looks like we've got a permanent vet for the new cats!

  • Ravi Vemulapalli

Despite getting my puppy fixed here, she is excited to enter the vets office. They take great care of her and the staff is so friendly and has there wonderful little dogs that my daughters love to pet and play with. They also have boarding and daycare here. Haven’t done the daycare, but the boarding was great. Also saves me from the worry about what happens when I am gone when the vet is literally in the office right next to the kennel.

  • Andrea Dehne

My new puppy started to appear ill, and my regular vet wouldn’t see us. I was so upset because I know how quickly puppies can go downhill, so I called Spicewood and without hesitation they told me to bring the puppy in. The entire staff was so kind and professional, and called with updates for each step in the process. They quickly diagnosed my puppy and were able to start the treatment process. I’m so so grateful for them! Thank you!

  • George Amaro

Took my Westie in for severe allergies and recurring ear infections. Dr. Crawford was awesome. She provide top notch care for my 4-legged child and made him a happy pooch again. Additionally, Dr. Crawford provided me with great advise on practices to keep my dog free from allergy symptoms and answered every question I posed to her. She and the Vet Techs are great at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital are great. Highly recommend.

  • Aviva Johns

Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital is wonderful! My dog needed emergency care and they made sure she was taken care of even though I didn't have an appointment. The office is very clean and the staff is great. They are friendly and knowledgeable. Dr.Benaryeh is one of the best veterinarians that I have seen (and I have been to a few). He really knows and cares about animals. I highly recommend Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital.

  • Coleen Q

Everyone at Spicewood Animal Hospital is so friendly and always so helpful! They take great care of my dog and I feel comfortable bringing her there for anything. They are on top of appointment and vaccine reminders which I appreciate. I always have a positive experience with everyone at every visit. The vets are very knowledgeable. They go above and beyond. I highly recommend Spicewood Animal Hospital to anyone with a pet!

  • James Reno

All the vets at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital are great. Most recently I took our nervous Aussie rescue to see Dr. Goldenberg about a cut on his paw. She soothes him and took great care of him. She let him smell the bandage material before using it and had a staff member petting him the whole time. They even fashioned a rain proof cover for his paw to keep his bandage unsoiled. Very caring veterinarians and staff.

I highly recommend Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital. Their vets and staff are the best and will care for your dog as if it were their own. I have never had a bad experience at this place. P.S.- I also recommend their boarding services. You can purchase the VIP suite which comes with cameras so you can watch your dogs and not stress when you are on vacation. They will also send you pictures to keep your mind at ease!

  • Jaimee Aguilar

Very kind staff! Dr. Crawford is AMAZING and so helpful each time we go. They take the time to answer all of questions and concers. Our dog (who is shy and timid) loves the staff, who are so patient and sweet towards him. Our first time here, we were able to get a last minute Saturday appointment when we first adopted our dog and appreciate all their hardwork ever since then. Best place you can take your fur babies!

  • Amy Whiteaker

Our family of animals loves Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital. They care for our dogs and cats with respect and are always professional. Dr. Benaryeh in particular is fantastic and takes the time to explain all the options for my pets' care. We also love Dr. Bates. We have continued to choose Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital over the past decade because they continually show that they genuinely care for my pets.

  • Erica Blancas-Santos

Love and care for our furry baby has been superb! Clean, friendly, professional, and prompt to answer questions. Always following up after a visit if it calls for it. Prescription refill is a breeze always quick! Staff is amazing! In all my years of owning, a dog have yet to encounter a vet clinic that is all around a 5 star 2 years now, and the consistency in the caliber of service is always supreme

  • Katy Simms

This was the first time I have had today goodbye to my dog. They were very sweet, allowed us be by her side, and explained everything from what was going on to how the process would go. The doctor even let me stay by Stacie’s side as she was put to rest. My only regret is not moving to Austin sooner so they could be our vet. They care about each pet and the people who love them. Best vet I’ve ever been too.

  • Thomas Wessling

I've been taking my dog and cat here for over 5 years, and have always had an amazing experience. When my dog had surgery, the owner kept me updated throughout the day. When they found potential issues - they didn't oversell me on anything, and suggested we wait and see how things develop (issue resolved itself in a few weeks). Their pricing has always been very reasonable. They're the best, hands down.

  • James McNguyen

Dr Sarah Crawford is always very attentive, thorough, and friendly. She always takes the time to connect with my dogs with a soothing voice and gentle touch before, during, and after the exams. She is clear about treatment options. The clinic is fully staffed with friendly people and is always very clean. They offer great clinic hours and do a great job of staying on schedule. I very highly recommend!

  • Cathy Tilton

Our cat got sick totally out of the blue, and we were pretty freaked out. Spicewood Springs saw us the same day, and were so kind to our insane cat. She ended up having to go back again, but has made a full recovery. They gave us lots of options, treated her really well, and kept tabs on her recovery. I feel 100% confident taking our cat to them, and would recommend their services to any pet owner.

  • Lisa Morgan

The veterinarians and staff here are so professional and helpful. Dr. Wagner takes care of our dog and Dr. Bates cares for our cat. They are both very knowledgeable and provide thorough assessments, advice, and information. Also, notable is that they are knowledgeable about pet nutrition and don’t just try to sell prescription kibble, which I have experienced at other veterinary clinics.

  • Rachel Chan

Have always received great care and service here for both my cat, Kiki, and our small terrier Seiji. The staff is very knowledgeable and has always treated me and my pets with the utmost respect. Unlike some other clinics I've been to, I never feel like I'm being sold unnecessary/costly treatments or tests. Would recommend to anybody looking for quality animal care by a personable staff.

  • Mary Tijerina

Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital was the perfect place for my little Jellybean. The front office staff was friendly and welcoming. I just adopted a puppy and had so many questions. Dr.Tran was patient, kind and was so good- my puppy didn't even realize she had gotten her vaccinations! I feel so lucky to have found an awesome vet for my fur baby. I highly reccommend Spicewood Springs!

  • Renee Riffee

I've been taking our dogs here for a decade now and it's always been a good experience. Our current dog has a lot of anxiety so very difficult with vet appointments and unfortunately Spicewood was not able to handle her which is a bummer, isn't that their thing? Overall, I feel very comfortable with the staff here but wish they could have tried a little harder to work with my pup.

  • Jill Bruce

There are a lot of choices for veterinarians in Austin, but Spicewood Springs is the best! Everyone there - from the amazing doctors to the vet techs to the folks at the front desk - are so friendly, knowledgeable, and patient. They always take the time to address all our concerns. Wish I could give more than 5 stars -every doc there is brilliant, compassionate, and amazing!

  • Ellen Zeigler

Dr. Tobiansky and the other vets at this practice have been exceptionally good with my very difficult dog. The front desk staff is always pleasant and genuinely helpful both in person and with over the phone questions. Every tech I’ve ever had has been skilled and helpful. I would highly recommend Dr. Tobiansky/ SSAH for your difficult dogs (and probably the easy ones too!)

  • Sam Anderson

The vets at Spicewood Springs always take great care of my diabetic Ruby. Thanks to them, she’s the picture of health after stabilizing her blood sugar! The waiting lobby is well-kept and clean, with a pretty fish tank to look at and complimentary snacks & drinks. Receptionists are always helpful and friendly as well. Thank you Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital!

  • Moriah Mock

I love Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital! The staff is really nice, and Dr. Tobianasky has treated my two puppies so well. She’s very patient and knowledgeable and is great with the dogs and us! I was going to a different vet close by and just didn’t feel like I was getting the best service for the staff and doctors. Switching to Spicewood was the right choice!

  • Naruby Schlenker Bollom

Great doctors, great staff, clean facilities, and the entire operation is well organized. My pup has been a patient since she was a puppy, and they've taken excellent care of her! Dr. Bates has performed two surgeries on my dog including spaying and a tooth extraction and they both went really well and she recovered very fast. I highly recommend this practice!

  • Madelyn Bernstein

I have been using Dr Benaryeh and the group at Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital for 7 years. I love him! He is kind, caring and takes all the time you need to explain things. I haven’t used the whole group, but I would definitely recommend Dr. Goldenberg also! The front desk crew is polite and professional, and I wouldn’t take my fur babies anywhere else!

  • S̸e͡À Fo͟Am͢

Always trusted this place for all my pet needs, the techs and doctors are of the highest caliber- pet owners themselves and their knowledge on pretty much every subject is unmatched. They've been there with me to take care of those whom are the most important to me, and always above satisfied with their work. Awesome place, awesome people all around here.

  • Alex Garnes

I’ve been taking my boy here since my last place fell apart, maybe 2.5 years ago. I’ve been very happy with them. The staff are friendly, their system works, and they treat my boy like family. I highly recommend Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital to anyone looking for a new vet practice. Update: the staff are still awesome. They take great care of my boy.

  • A N

I took my cat Nigel here for a pre-spay appointment and I was very impressed! The staff really cared about making my very scared cat comfortable. They were very thorough and informative and also went over our pricing options for the spay. The appointment was conducted fairly quickly which my cat appreciated. Excited to have found great care for Nigel!

  • MJ Erengil

Could not recommend more highly. All staff are personable and knowledgeable and welcoming; the sense of teamwork is evident. Best of all, Drs. spend quality time to discuss diagnosis/prognosis, and ensure we're aware of all options available. In my lifetime as a pet owner, I've found this practice to be a standout for exceptional quality of care.

  • Michele Ranta

My dogs have had the best care here! The doctors at Spicewood helped my 80lb lab reach 15 years old. ‍ I have seen a few different doctors, and they all are great. Dr. Bates deserves special credit since I have seen her the most, but I would not hesitate to see anyone. Their judgment is honest, thorough, and caring. Thank you!

  • M Cole

I love this place. The vets are terrific. I've seen every one, and they're incredibly professional, compassionate and great with Maggie. The vet techs and office staff are awesome, too. Even after I moved out of the neighborhood, we still drive back here because we have a great relationship and they know Maggie and her issues.

  • Amanda Wong

Cannot say enough good things about this place. The staff is all friendly and clearly love animals. They go the extra mile for their patients and the prices are always fair. I moved away so tried some other places closer to me, but it is definitely worth the drive to know my pets will be taken care of here. Highly recommend

  • Mark Fisher

My various dogs and cats have been loyal and happy clients here since 2010. Dr Bates, Dr. B and all the others have never failed to give less than the BEST CARE for all the routines to the occasional emergencies. I drive from South Austin past dozens of other vets to get to Spicewood. Always great. Highly recommended.

  • Nico Petersen

After trying to find a vet in our area we chose to drive across town to these guys. They are organized, respectful, talented and have affordable prices. Our troublemaker cat got an abscess and they were able to get us in before it got too infected. They are wonderful and I am happy to come back again and again.

  • Christina Schmanske

We’ve been bringing our dog here since she was a puppy and they’ve been so good to us. The facility is clean, doesn’t smell gross like most vet offices, and the people are extremely nice. It’s pricey - but it’s worth it to know that my girl is being taken care of by people that I trust. We love Dr. Benaryeh!

  • Susie Johnson

Beautiful new cat hospital at Mesa and Spicewood Springs. Very nice staff, immaculate rooms, very gentle with my calico Gigi. I got the blood test results the next day! No other non-cat animals around to scare your kitty. We were there on their first day open. I recommend them to all cat owners!! …

  • John Tobin

Switched to them when we adopted our dog that was heart worm positive - they have a relationship with the city to treat adopted dogs. Always had good service and their availability and hours are excellent. We've had a number of procedures done here and have always been satisfied with the quality of care.

  • Colin Stephens

Called them today with my dog's paw bleeding. Was in and being seen 10 minutes later. They're a bit more expensive than some options, but only a bit. Frankly they're the only people I trust with my senior corgi. They take good care of the animals they treat and they keep you well informed along the way.

  • Evelyn Vowel

We were recommended this office by a dear friend and have not been disappointed. The staff is always helpful and the vets are so compassionate. We had to put one of our pups down in February and though it was tough the process was as pleasant as it could be. Very happy with the folks here.

  • april beaty

We LOVE SSAH! We receive compassionate care every single time we visit. Everyone from the front desk, to the techs, to the DVMs are kind and experts at what they do! We've had surgical procedures done in the office and have had excellent experiences and results. Can't brag on SSAH enough!

  • Chris Mills

Best vet I've ever been to. We've been taking our pups here for 7 years and even though we moved a bit further away, I still drive to take them. They love and take such great care of our anxious and high energy pointers. I'm so thankful for them and cant recommend them more.

  • Gloria Dula

Dr Benaryeh at Spicewood Cat Hopspital continues to be the most caring, knowledgeable and approachable doctor we have ever known, and being a lifetime cat owner that says a lot! All the staff has been kind, thorough, and helpful. Highly recommend this hospital, and doctor!

  • natalie garcia

I was referred to this vet for walk-ins on a Saturday morning and they were able to accommodate my cat and I in short notice. They were super caring, professional and went above and beyond. Thanks to the amazing staff and the great vet who saved my kitten!

  • Rossy Cipriano

By far the best bet we’ve visited. My poor boy was very sick and I really needed to get a same day appointment and they were able to offer accommodations for us. Truly thankful for the wonderful staff!! Will be bringing all my fur babies here from now on.

  • kiran hahn

Love this vet! We've been clients for the past 8 years and always get great care for us and our dogs. The vets stay up to date on research and are as kind as they are knowledgeable. The staff is courteous and helpful. Couldn't recommend them more highly!

Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital is fantastic! The doctors there do a great job and you know your animals are in good hands. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. Grateful to have such a good resource to provide comprehensive care to my dogs.

  • Chris & Tracy M

It was our new puppy's first visit to the veterinarian. She was not nervous at all, and the technicians and Dr. Wong were all great with her. We chose Spicewood Springs Animal Hospital from a personal recommendation, and are very happy with our choice.

  • 陈思琦

Dr. Bates did a fantastic job on preparing international travel health certificate for my cat to Singapore! She made good plans ahead of time was flexible for specific requests. It took us much less efforts than expected to get everything ready!

  • Gloria Alejandra Diaz Otero

Best place ! I took my puppy since he was 9 weeks , and they care so much about him , they gave him a little hoodie and explain everything that we needed to know about the shots. They are so friendly. We will take our puppy to this place again !

  • Joan E

Really appreciate the wonderful care of this clinic. Easy to make appointments, talk with someone on the phone, enter clinic (our dog is a bit reactive) and the technicians (esp. Caitlyn) and vets are super helpful, thorough and just wonderful.

  • Patricia Pierce

It was time for my dog Sparky’s annual and shots. The staff is courteous and enthusiastic and the vet herself was kind and professional. They even helped me stay within budget. I’m glad they are the ones I’ve entrusted with dog’s healthcare.

  • Irene Heitsch

Cat had an injured leg, they were able to see her the same day. Office is very clean and quiet. Tech was skilled at handling the cat. Dr. Tran questioned me, observed the cat, gave a couple treatment options and the cat is doing much better

  • sally grayum

I love the vets and staff at Spicewood Springs vet clinic. Very compassionate, caring and professional. We have always received exceptional service by the vets and awesome front desk staff. Highly recommend. Your pets will be in good hands.

  • Alison Tartt

Spicewood Springs Cat Hospital was a tranquil, caring environment for my ailing senior cat. I appreciated the vet's expertise, insights, thoroughness, and excellent communication skills. After just 48 hours, my cat seems to be on the mend!

  • MC

Best vets ever, our dog is so scared and anxious but they are so gentle with her and know how to deal with anxious dog. Our previous vet weren't considerate of her while Spicewood go above and beyond to make her feel comfortable and safe.

  • Aaron Nolen

I had a great experience at Spicewood Springs Cat Hospital. The staff was very friendly, there was no wait time. The Vet Doc and assistant were very gentle when handling my kitten and answered all of my questions. Thank you! Nolen Family

  • Maureen Mcshane

What a wonderful place! I brought in my elderly mom and her very sick and injured cat. Dr Crawford was so very kind and empathic. She handled my mother and the whole situation so gingerly and and sweetly. I cannot thank her enough.

  • peg croslin

Lou and Dr Bates were tremendous with Ranger, our Shih Tzu puppy. So caring and wonderful. Had heard so many great things about Spicewood from friends. Good to know the reviews were genuine! Love the care and attention.

i’ve been taking my cat around town to different vets. I just recently took my baby to spicewood and finally feel like my search to find a vet i’m satisfied with is over. this place is amazing as well as their staff!

  • Louise Meeks

We were welcomed as newcomers by a very caring, loving , and professional staff. Our new dog, Roxy was at ease with the doctor in no time. They were also very thorough and listened carefully to all of our concerns.

  • Sahar Arafat-Ray

My husband & I have been taking our cats to SSAH for almost 25 years. Through every iteration of the practice, the team has been gracious, professional, and has taken great care of our cats (and, by extension, us).

  • Darkwave Doll

Amazing level of care from all the doctors and technicians, helpful CSRs, and by far the best veterinary practice ever. If I didn't move out of state, I would 100% continue to bring my kitties here.
