I recently purchased a mountain bike online from Sport Chek. A friend of mine is knowledgeable on bikes and put it together for me. After riding it a couple times I knew a few things were off. I called Sport Chek on Regent and they advised if it wasn't too complicated they could probably look at the bike on the spot. I took a chance after work and headed down with my bike. I went to the back of the store to the service department and met a wonderful young man named Justyn ( I hope I got the spelling right). He was very patient with this old timer who hasn't owned a bike in decades. He took the bike in immediately, spent about a half hour with it, explained what he had tweaked and fixed in a pleasant, easy to understand manner. He advised me what I should expect with a new bike and showed me what I can look for and correct myself but also welcomed me to bring my bike back anytime. Thanks Justyn!

Brutal customer service. Asked for assistance with snowboard boots - all I needed was a size. One staff member directed me to another member who was already busy helping someone else. 10 mins later another employee came to help me. I asked for 2 different sizes of boots to try, he went to look for about another 5 mins, came out empty handed and asked what I was looking for again. Told him (again), and he proceeded to check mens boots and sizes I did not need (I specifically asked for women's boots). Very frustrating wasting 20 minutes just trying to get a pair of boots to try on.

went to this store only because i seen a sign that said massive clearance sale! walked in and checked out the summer selection only to be surprised that there were no good deals on anything lol, and tried to ask where the deals were everyone i approached just decided to avoid me and even the chubby blonde girl working the til also decided not to answer me at all lol, how does this place survive with such terrible service, its too bad people put there egos first instead of the customer

Great to grab a bat or a glove or sports gear in general but if you are looking for athletic gear like a compression shirt or shorts I hate Sports Chek in Winnipeg. They don't have any sizes L+ in any stores. I had a staff member assist me in looking at other stores for an L or XL pair of shorts and they had none, same goes for an XL compression shirt. I now do my shopping at Under Armor as they have deals for Canadiens and do ship to your address or the new Outlet store.

Starting today and for the rest of my life, i will never buy a pair of shoes unless recommended by GEN from Sport Check on regent Winnipeg. I will tell my family and friends, heck i will even tell every stranger i will meet about GEN at Sport Check. She is the best professional shoe expert sales lady i ever met. Hey Sport Check, You are lucky to have her. I will give your store five stars, for GEN....100 stars! Including the moon and the sun! Thank you GEN!

Went looking for runners and insoles for work. When someone finally came out (of the NOT busy shoe section), I nicely asked him if he worked there. He said, "Well I wouldn't be 'reppin' these clothes if I didn't". I tried on one pair of shoes which he just handed to me and walked away. His demeanor was clear that he did not want to be there. I did not buy anything, solely because I did not like the unprofessional customer service.

Bought new skates online and they included free sharpening and heat mold. Worst sharpening ever. Save yourself $9, and go to a pro shop with someone who knows how to sharpen skates. They used a machine to sharpen the skates and it shredded the steel and a left horrible edge. They ended up hand sharpening the skates to fix the issue. It's unfortunate what would be a convienence is tarnished by defective machine.

Went to the store to buy a pair of water shoes. It was almost closing time and I was in a hurry. Price on tag didn't match the price on system. They adjusted the price, but the red flag is there. Found out that the water shoes I bought were USED!! Paid full price for a NEW product, but got a used one. The shoes were filled with sand, and had some pieces of paper inside. I am really disappointed with this store.

Went there today to buy shoes and the customer service was bad. The girl walked past me three times and didn't ask if I needed help. Had to go up and ask her. The other girl in the back found a few different sizes for me. She came up to me with the boxes and handed them to me and walked away.... Had to lace the shoes up myself to try them on etc. I ended up just leaving.

Everything in the clearance is wrong. Nothing is actually on sale where the sign says it's 19.97. the price on the tag is the price. 44.95 for a sports bra. 26 for a men's shirt and 31 for a woman's shirt. All off the clearance rack. That's clearly posted 19.97 took a 40 min bus ride for fails advertising. Workers also wouldn't honour the posted clearance Price.

Went there to pick up a water bottle that I had seen online. Unfortunately I could not find it so I asked for help. The staff member that helped me was very helpful and friendly. They could not find the bottle that I was looking for but instead found me a better alternative. The manager was grateful enough to give me a discount on the bottle for my troubles.

Great customer experience at this store. Store Manager is professional and a very nice person to deal with. He is friendly and willing to do the best and help customers. I would wish all other Sportchek stores have their managers like this one. Also, technician from the bikes assembling department was friendly provided a great customer service. Great store!

Quite honestly, if I could, I would leave a minus star review for this location. Was in there today for nearly 40mins and couldn't get a single ounce of help. And it's not that there weren't enough people working ... WORST experience ever at this location. And not the first bad one either. This happens 95% of the time I have gone here. Never going back.

Bought a mid priced bike from this location which had manufacturing issues with the frame. Although the warranty had technically expired, the staff went out of their way to resolve the issue and eventually replaced the frame at no cost and without even being asked. That kind of customer service is tough to come by these days.

Went to buy several different pairs of cycling shorts and a new golf glove that were all listed in stock online and nothing was actually in the store. Makes you wonder how much stuff is being stolen if it gets logged into the system when it arrives at the store but never gets scanned out at the register yet isn't there?

Worst Sport Chek in the city by far (but one of them has to be). The recent renos have made it look like an Apple store, but the selection has gotten even worse. Boxing section was also just a post it note saying "Boxing" and a dummy called Bob that says don't touch. Just go to St. Vital or Polo honestly.

I inadvertently bought an empty box here. This put me and the store in a difficult position of doing a return of the item. The store manager, I believe Jessica, was understanding and understandably critical. I was refunded the amount in the end, and I appreciate that courtesy a lot, thank you.

We arrived at Sport Check intending to purchase shoes today only to find they didn’t have our son’s size in stock. The young gentleman assisting us went out of his way to suggest the best route to take for ordering the selected shoes to our home. Thanks for the excellent assistance!

Came in on a Tuesday morning. Not a whole lot of customers, but the staff was super nice, very approachable! Natasha was in the shoe department and very knowledgeable. She found me exactly what I was looking for likity split. Never had a bad experience at sport check!

Though the snow pants I checked online are out of stock, the staff at the kids clothing section was very patient and help to locate one at the store near my place and order to ship to my home. Great service and definitely will recommend to my friends. Thx.

I am from Ontario and the Sportchek in our local Mall could learn a lot from the Polo Park store. Great prices....amazing staff that went out of their way to help...so much better than the one in Belleville Ontario. Well done Sport Chek Winnipeg!

Terrible sales and a non-existent clearance section. This place was great 15 years ago. Now everything is full price. The Olympics was just on and they have no apparel that the athletes would actually compete in, from runners to sprinting shorts

Waited for over an hour for skate sharpening, worker took off after sharpening 3 of the 4 pairs. Website said there was an item in stock but wasn’t there when worker checked which also took 20 minutes. Staff not helpful but standing around.

The store had better selection and more stock than the last time I visited which was great. The store was clean. I bought 8 items or so for my kids and the price was $230. I like the products and selection but I don't like the prices.

Kept ordering shoes for my kid online only to get them and they don't fit. So we headed over to the Sport Chek to find him a pair. Not only did we find a pair for him but they were cheaper than the last ones we ordered online.

Been here 3 times now. No selection. Not sure what the issue is and why finding black gym shorts is not happening at this location. Whoevers doing the ordering, weather local or corporate needs to figure it out

As usual, they don't have shoes in my size. On a separate occasion, I called to ask some questions about shoes, and got a young punk who gave me attitude instead of answers....unprofessional.

I love the way i was treated here from the sales man to the manager and everyone in between. I picked up a cruiser bike here and paid less than if i bought of Market place or kijiji.

Tried to raise the price 70 bucks and I said no that wasn't right and she said stand aside let me do a price check and then had to wait 20 mins on her while she helped other people

Trying to be friendly with the service shop tech who was such a dick. They also lack insanely simple bike parts. All I need is a shifting cable and they didn't have a single one.

In the past I have had trouble getting help in the show department here but during my last visit the assistance was excellent. There is a pretty good show selection available.

Massive selection of items. Staff is helpful but not pros in their area. Decent to grab what you need. Sales are usually good. Clean and fast.
