Bottom line: Avoid this place at ALL costs. Their furniture you'll spend THOUSANDS on will stop working and they'll refuse to honor their warranty. I spent over $6,000 on a reclining sectional sofa with 7 modular pieces (4 of them electric and reclining) and 2 consoles and to protect my investment, bought their joke of a 5-year warranty. Initially I paid with a credit card, but a single day after my purchase I discovered that had I paid cash I would've been given a discount at which point I called to see if they would let me pay with cash instead, but they refused. I had to speak with corporate to accommodate me and after a week of fighting I was finally allowed to make my purchase with cash. Here I am 2 years later wishing I had just asked them to refund it entirely so I could take my business elsewhere. A year in, randomly, one of the reclining pieces stopped working. Pushing the buttons did nothing and I checked to make sure all connections were still together and tight. Realizing it wasn't a simple fix I began the claims process with my warranty, but I had just had a baby and they wanted several pictures of the recliner and wouldn't let you process the claim without jumping through dozens of hoops I simply didn't have time for as a first-time new mother. Seriously, it was a year old recliner that had stopped working. What pictures could you possibly need?? Why should it be my responsibility to document and troubleshoot instead of you all making it easy and sending someone out? When my newborn was a few months older I decided to retry the claims process, but it was flat out denied because I was honest about when I noticed the issue. I called to explain and they couldn't care less. Their entire reasoning was because I didn't answer all of their questions and take all of their pictures within 30 days of noticing the issue. I'm sorry, but some people have greater responsibilities and we don't always get around to dealing with the trivial pieces of life immediately. Now I'm stuck with a broken couch and an ire for Star Furniture you wouldn't believe. I will absolutely NEVER do business with them again. We're about to buy a new sectional set for our upstairs game room and I'll undoubtedly be going to Havertys; I should've in the first place. Take my advice, if you do buy something from them, it will inevitably break, and when it does, feel free to lie to them because they certainly don't mind lying to you.

Despite reaching out for over a month, I have not received a response to my written complaint, so I have no choice but to post a public review in order to get a response. While I am pleased with the quality of the furniture, I am very displeased with the lack of transparency in the billing process for a financed amount pursuant to a retail installment contract and security agreement. I set up installments in auto-pay at a fixed amount so the exact amount would be debited on the due date, which according to my contract, should be the 10th day of each month. I set the fixed amount to be debited in equal installments for 12 months until the loan was paid off before the interest-free period expired. When I reviewed my payment history at the end of the interest free period, to my surprise payments were skipped in November, February, April, and July. Instead of debiting the fixed amount at the set date in accordance with my contract, such amounts were put in a suspense account and processed at the next due date. When I brought this to the attention of a customer specialist, she informed me that if an installment payment is larger than the minimum payment required on the due date, the amount will be placed in a suspense account until a subsequent due date. This did not make sense. Despite my request for a goodwill gesture to extend the interest free period by two additional months, in order to allow me to pay remaining installments in smaller amounts rather than a large sum at the end of the interest-free period, the finance team rejected this request. While I had the means to pay the loan on time, this was indicative of a deceptive trade practice, a "bait-in-switch" in an ambiguous auto-pay set-up to get people to pay a high interest rate when the interest-free period expires. Despite sending a detailed letter of my compliant a month ago on multiple occasions, I received no response from Star Furniture. I will be escalating this complaint to the Better Business Bureau (BBB), the Texas Consumer Credit Commissioner, and the Texas State Attorney General to look into possible violations of the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act. While mistakes are sometimes made, I categorically despise bad faith and unfair dealing. I will not conduct business with Star Furniture in the future.

DON'T BUY THE INSURANCE - We have bought our entire household with Star because we thought the quality would be great but we still bought the warranty because they pushed it so hard and kept saying ANYTHING for 5 years!! This is not true. Our dining set buttons and chairs/bench were fraying and the table was discoloring early (in the first year). I called my sales person and when she finally sent me the insurance info we were denied - I asked why and for an escalations department to appeal this ridiculous decision ( we were in our first year and it was obvious it was a defect in the material and on the wood). Nothing - they said their answer was final. I went to my sales person and she said she will get it handled - it might take a while but she would get it handled. NOTHING for 6 months then I reached back out and she said they didn't call you? I said no one has called or anything and would like it to get resolved immediately. I then receive a call from her sales manager (Monica) sincerely the rudest person in sales to ever speak to me. She told me that it's denied and they are not going to do anything about it and I can go through insurance and that is it. I attempted to explain that her sales person told me everything was covered with in the 5 years and she interrupted me over and over and yelling at me. I will get my attorney involved now because it is the principle of the matter and selling this bogus insurance is just a way for them to make extra money. Plus the furniture isn't as quality as I had hoped. It's just my husband and I and it's not like we use the dining table much but it looks horrible. DON'T USE STAR ... DON'T USE STAR IN AUSTIN and DEFINITELY don't assume their quality of furniture is superior just because the price is super inflated. (my mistake). Thank you for allowing me to share.

PAMELA and TIM are absolutely great people to work with. They know the products and are a pleasure to work with. MAUREEN HONEY is an absolute joke. How anyone would even consider that moron as an employee is failure on the store itself. She comes across as some holier than tho, richer than you and Im better than you idiot. She got into a tif with another family who told her to just go away after we dealt with her. Unfortunately, Tim was on vacation then. After we figured up what we wanted to buy, we told the office section of the store we had zero interest in working with MAUREEN HONEY and it was PAMELA who followed through the rest of the way! She is great! However, enter the idiot, inflated sense of self worth MAUREEN HONEY, again! She and she alone lost this store over $15,000 worth of customer purchase! Because of her inept, tastless, low class and rude actions. Our benefactor (elderly) who tried to pay over the phone the amount in FULL was very disrespectfully made to feel like a fool instead of assisted in any way to take care of it. Who was the idiot on the phone?? You guessed it, MAUREEN HONEY! Do yourselves a favor and go somewhere else. Texas leather interiors is next door and they are real pros at what they do. MAUREEN HONEY has two more terrible reviews coming her way due to her incompetence, tastelessness and poor representation to an otherwise great store. Those reviews are direct reflection of her and her only but in the words of MAUREEN HONEY, "what does it matter". Yeah, youre right MAUREEN, we instead got exactly what we wanted elsewhere for just slightly more money, but, "what does it matter??"

Pros - Firstly, Star Furniture is an incredible home furnishings store of high quality, huge selection and reasonable pricing. No matter what other stores we shop, we seem to always come back to Star; and have been for over 10 years. Our salesman, Jack M. was truly exceptional in our selections, and profusely apologetic for what follows below. That said, it took an exhausting and grueling 1.5 hours to simply check out using their 24 month - no Interest program. Towards the end of this fairly humiliating journey, it was determined that there was a glitch in their internal financing system. I was tasked with having to complete three separate credit applications. Each time the application was completed and accepted, their computer system could not locate it. So time and again, I had to start over from square one, and complete another on-line application in hopes their system would properly recognize and file it. Finally, our super nice salesman, Jack, suggested that I complete a paper application, which he was then able to quickly present to his management team. All this was quite test of patience for my wife who was striving to entertain our very hungry grandchild. We eagerly await our $8,900 worth of purchases, and have full faith that we will be well pleased, but the painful journey to complete the transaction will not be soon forgotten and will give pause in any other future purchase decisions.

Purchased a dining room set from the Austin location, and one of the chairs didn't match the rest of the set. Was told by delivery guys that the office would contact me to swap out. A week passed, and the office never contacted me so I contacted them. Since I listened to the delivery guy and allowed them to leave the chair, they said I couldn't return it or exchange it for one that matched the rest of the set. I am not paying for a mix-match dining room set, so I'm fighting this and will never shop at Star Furniture again. They don't stand behind their product, and you shouldn't have to fight to be happy with your purchase. Please shop anywhere else other than here. P.S. Please don't send the same cookie-cutter response that they respond to every low score with. I contacted your customer service department before writing the review, and they couldn't care less, they read you the form book and closed the ticket out as if I did not have any options. To Star's surprise, consumers do have options, and I plan on exercising all of them. Take them to small claims court , it will cost you $165 to file but the cost for Star to pay a lawyer to show up each time to defend again each case is more than it would have cost them to do the right things and stand behind their product.

Do not buy a mattress here. It is completely non-refundable and if you are not happy with your purchase, they will only do an exchange once. Not only that, if you buy a mattress for $4k, your only choice is to buy another mattress and bedding that same price or higher. And that is not all. You have to pay a 10% restocking fee of the mattress (an extra $400) in addition to the delivery fee for an exchange. Even if you decide on a cheaper mattress, they will not give you any of your money back. They will hold your money hostage so you are not able to shop anywhere else. There are much better options when it comes to mattress stores who actually refund your purchase, don't charge a $300 delivery fee each time, allows you to exchange more than once, and has much better customer service.

Sam was no help and lied. Told us a Thursday delivery which was 6 days away and come to find out it was almost a month later for delivery. Should’ve known he didn’t know much cause the mattress price kept changing as he was helping. Really irritated me that he didn’t know all details and tried to act like it. Store manager never called back, so I called corporate customer service and Deja fixed my issue and will have the furniture here the Saturday after the supposedly Thursday delivery date. Update: Well, I received my furniture 4 days ago and they was missing 4 legs. They came out same day short a leg and said they’ll come today with 4 legs . Welp , 4 days later guess what… they still have only 3 legs and say it can take weeks or more to receive. How worse can this get?

I was skeptical about going into Star Furniture. Always thought it was only for the wealthy. Decided to go anyway and was very surprised at what they had and some of the prices. Purchased a beautiful sectional which was a Little more than what I would usually pay, but the quality and workmanship is well worth it. I was tired of buying couches that didn't last. The cushions ALWAYS started sinking in and going flat!! I paid good money for them too. So decided to buy a piece that I Know will last. Jack Murchison was SO helpful, not pushy and made sure I was getting what I wanted. Took his time to show me just about everything. I really enjoyed shopping there and will most certainly return. GO CHECK THEM OUT!!

The store itself was very clean and the furniture was arranged nicely. They had a large selection of furniture. Judy was our sales representative. She greeted us with a smile, was very professional and helpful. She didn’t hoover over us bugging us every 5 seconds. She showed us where the recliner section was and left us alone checking in every so often. She didn’t try to high pressure sale us. We found the perfect recliner, it was very reasonably priced. The buying part was very organized, uniform, professional and easy. When I am in the market for furniture again, I will be shopping at Star Furniture and asking for Judy to help us. I highly recommend Star Furniture!

I had a great experience today at star furniture, it started with the help of Pamela who really knows her stuff. She was very knowledgeable , she was not pushy, nor did she follow me around the store, she looked up everything. I asked her to look up and gave me some great Intel about the items and companies I was thinking about purchasing. In my opinion, star furniture has a great line of products. Some are more expensive and some are in expensive but quality they carry some beautiful lines.! as it turned out, I ended up purchasing several large items for two rooms that we were remodeling. Be sure to ask for Pamela in Pflugerville Texas. She’s fantastic.

Our sales representative(JACK) ask us a few questions about what we were interested in then showed us 7 or 8 sets and we are very satisfied with what we chose out of those collections. We had shopped Rooms to Go, Living Spaces, Havertys and Home Zone turns out STAR FURNITURE had the best selections and at a very fair price. We recently moved into a new house and found some great modern pieces at Star to furnish our dining and living rooms. Judy was so very helpful through the process, and most notably so with promptly responding to our texts and calls. We had a couple of pieces on back order and a custom order that took some time getting delivered. She gave us her cell phone number and responded to every text or call promptly, even on her days off. We had a minor hiccup with one of our pieces and Star immediately gave us fair options to remedy the situation. We will not hesitate to buy from them again. My husband and I purchased a complete bedroom set recently. The process from start to delivery went great! Tim Hubbard at the store was exceptional. He wasn’t pushy, matter of fact I couldn’t even tell you if he gets a commission because his approach is NOTHING like the vultures that hang out at the front of the store at you know where. The delivery team was excellent as well. They were prompt, courteous and respectful of our home. Overall, Star Furniture in Pf did an exceptional job. We will certainly return and see Tim when our office is ready for renovation.

I had not been in Star Furniture Austin in 20 years until I seen a couch purchase me dear friend at made. I just moved back to the Georgetown area and needed a new leather sectional and I had looked at another place, found something but very High Price so I went to Star. I walked in and the Best Sales Consultant Joe Breeland 111 approached me and my Grandson and made us feel Welcome and proceeded to help us purchase a Beautiful Leather Sectional. I will go back in the near future and specifically see Joe for my next purchase of a chair.

Sofa we sat on in the showroom is not the same size as what was delivered. Granted, the one in the showroom had 2 cushions and ours has 3 but we were assured it was the same except for that. Totally different feel, you sit ON it, not IN it. My wife’s feet don’t even touch the floor and they did on the showroom model. I understand they settle in, but this is not even close. Customer service insists it is the same and will do nothing. I am stuck with an expensive sofa I do not like.

Over a 20 year timeframe, I bought a lot of high quality furniture from Star; dining room table with custom order leather (and wood) chairs, leather sofas, custom order side chairs, bedroom suits, etc. I spent many tens of thousands of dollars there. Times have changed and with all the interior designers and retailers selling mostly trendy furniture and furnishings. There’s very little that I can find to purchase there now. I’m just thankful that I don’t need any new furniture.

Customer service was decent . Felt like I got a good price on my chosen dining table: The Arden standard height table and chairs. Chairs were out of stock so expected delivery is a little more than 1 month out. In the end, I went with the insurance and delivery options which ended up adding another ~$400, including tax . Will feel more confirmed with my review overtime if my table lasts .

I grew up in Houston going to Star. My mother in law was looking for a dining table. We were in the store for a good hour and not a single person tried to assist us. Some may like the quiet look but she probably would have bought but we had questions. 2 ladies walked past us and never said a thing. The furniture is great. I am just waiting for the gray white phase to go away.

Store is beautiful. Our designer had picked out 2 potential lamps for our bedroom table. We called the store and spoke to Pamela to confirm the lamps were still available. She met us at door upon our arrival and showed us the 2 lamps. Helped by putting working bulbs in the lamps and expedited the sale. A great experience.

Had a large queen bed bed frame delivered over 2 weeks ago. Delivery people failed to bring the tools needed to put it together and the boards were crooked. Star furniture has rescheduled 3 times to come back and fix the bed.
