I was incredibly shocked when we were turned away while my puppy was suffering from a severe allergic reaction. I drove over 40 minutes to this veterinary hospital for immediate treatment only to be turned away with minimal concern, due to being "too busy" and "understaffed". The entire industry, and in fact most industries that service the public are understaffed and being someone in healthcare; you never turn away someone who is need of care, especially in an emergency situation. We were fortunate enough to speak to another vet close by who told us to come in immediately as his situation was of immediate concern and we were incredibly grateful for this service. I am incredibly dissatisfied and disappointed with how inner West animal hospitals dealt with this situation and although I have had positive experiences prior, I will not be returning as "primary care" clearly is not a priority unless it is convenient for them. I have referred over 10 people to this clinic who I will also be sharing my experience with. I hope that noone else shares a similar experience and that this clinic improves the way they manage emergency situations as they are far below industry standard.

My experience as always was nothing short of brilliant. I have two French Bull dogs whom have experienced numerous medical problems. Angela on one occasion due to a very serious medical emergency with one of my dogs remained back from leaving work for over an hour waiting for me to get to her. She was fantastic administering all of the operiate treatment and keeping my dog over night for observation. I have been using the Stanmore Sydney Animal Hospital as my vet for three and a half years with all vets being thorough and when necessary referring us to SASH for serious treatments requiring specialised care and complicated surgery, emailing each of our dogs clinical history through to SASH before I had even arrived there. We are also sent regular reminders for example regarding immunisation treatments and the like for each dog so I don"t forget or even at times are aware of. I cannot recommend highly enough Sydney Animal Hospital Highly. They are extremely caring not just with respect to your pet but also to you as the owner explaining very accurately and thoughtfully each treatment and the like that requires to be undertaken.

Well done let the shabby exterior or slightly worn floor vinyl fool you. This is a clean and well run friendly establishment of real professionals. My booking was cheerfully done by phone, I arrived less than five minutes early and didn't have time to sit down before Dr Ann beemed to me form an open door EXACTLY on time. The whole consult was super efficient and yet the friendliest I have had . Dr Anne went above and beyond, asked some great questions which got a lot of important info from me and also really helpful with suggestions I could readily implement. Perfect mix of really knows her stuff and super helpful. And just a pleasure to feel here is someone who cares about what they do with a passion. I now this sounds like a totally swooning review but it's genuinely the best I've had in such a long time. Thanks again! I hope to be back and get you again. Thanks - Alan

May, Ange, Esther and the girls are amazing! We could not have asked for better care for our beloved Ruby throughout her life. Ange was ruthless in finding out what was wrong with Ruby and had it not been for her, we would have lost her well before we actually did. Unfortunately, Ruby passed away after an illness, but the team tried all they could to try to save her, giving us advice along the way and trialling lots of different drugs. They did not give up! When the end came, which was in the middle of COVID, it was so dignified and we were so grateful. Although it was the hardest decision we ever had to make, they were so caring and so lovely, we could not have asked for more. They guided us through the whole thing and were so thoughtful of Ruby it was amazing. We are getting a new puppy soon, and will absolutely be going back to the team at Inner West Vets!!

Took my little 1 yr old jangles to Sydney animal hospitals inner west. I was super anxious about taking her to a vet since my 21 year old cat passed about a year ago but I’ve never been so happy with a veterinary service before. It really felt like they cared about my girl and how she was doing. She stayed with them for 2 nights as she was unwell and I was very relieved she was in such capable hands. It really took away a lot of my stress and concerns. She came home to me bright and almost back to her normal ways. They didn’t try to scam me out of my money and only took necessary steps to make her feel better. I am so grateful. Hopefully I won’t have to return, but if any of my animals take a turn, I will be taking them there. Thankyou so much to the vets and nurses for taking such good care of my jangles.

The Vet and other staff today were so helpful of my situation, I am so appreciative. My dog Gypsy has a traumatic past and her aggression fuelled by fear can make it very difficult for her to be around other dogs and cats. After a short phone call to Alex about our situation, she assured me that I could wait with Gypsy in a private room to see the vet, so as to avoid any traumatic confrontations. When I arrived she did as advised over the phone. Dr Amy Zahn was the vet on hand to examine & treat Gypsy and she was extremely mindful to her specific situation, leaving the whole process a complete breeze. Thank you all at Sydney Animal Hospital Inner West for your kindness and consideration to both myself and Gypsy today, it really was appreciated by the both of us:)

We come to see May-Chin for our 17 year old cat's ongoing care. To put it lightly, our cat is not a fan of the vet and we have struggled to find someone with the care and patience to properly assess her needs. May-Chin is by far and away the most patient and communicative vet we have seen since moving to Sydney 6 years ago. She provides thorough information about multiple options to deal with our cats particular needs, without making us feel pressured to put our cat through particularly stressful tests or procedures as other vets have done in the past. We don't even live in Stanmore and have other vets which are closer, but we will always come to see May-Chin wherever we end up living in Sydney due to her beautiful care of our elderly cat.

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR RECEIPT BEFORE LEAVING. Our dog broke her toe. We were not provided a hard copy receipt after our visit, rather, they e-mail the receipts to you. When I checked the receipt later, we were charged for some tablets that we never received. Upon calling the practice, we were told that the vet said these tablets were dispensed, so we could not get a refund. This vet may have prescribed the medication but she was NOT PRESENT when the medication was dispensed (the vet nurses/counter staff do that). Based on the vet's word, we were unable to get a refund. Not only that, my dog was not given medication (an anti-inflammatory) that would have eased her pain.

My husband was extremely anxious when he first rang the Practice as he suspected our dog Buddee has suffered a serious injury. The way Callum answered his call was very important as he took my husband seriously and arranged for our dog to be seen urgently. This helped my husband a lot. He was so anxious that he drove like an ambulance driver rushing a patient to hospital!! We were seen quickly by the vet May. Thankfully, all was well. We would highly recommend this Practice. They were competent and caring as well. We cannot praise them highly enough for the way they handled the situation. It helped my husband so much.

We have been seeing the vets at Sydney Animal Hospital (Stanmore venue) since getting a rescue kitten a few months ago. Every visit has been professional and friendly and it is easy to see they all love the pets they are caring for. Our kitten was recently spayed and after the procedure our kitten kept removing the cone around her head and I couldn’t get it back on. Each time I called the clinic they were friendly and happily saw us so they could fit the cone back onto our kitten. I never felt like I was wasting their time. Thanks for looking after Hazel, I’m so glad you are just around the corner from us!!!!

Special thank you to Dr Angie Connell who saw our senior dog today and put our minds at ease about his various health concerns. She was patient, compassionate and attentive to us and our (very nervous and squirmy) old man. We were amazed at how much effort she put into advising us on the various pathways to treatment moving forward, as well as general health tips. Her advice was sound but also pragmatic. It is clear she loves animals and it felt like she was personally interested in the welfare of our fur baby. It was our first time at this clinic, but we will definitely be back when we need to!

I got my 6 months old super-healthy kitten spayed here. He got infected (maybe poisoned by medicine) and came back with a liver failure. I had to put him down only three weeks after the spaying. You can't imagine what we had gone through. He started a chronic diarrhoea right after the operation. Symptoms were getting worse day by day. After multiple revisits and paying hundreds of dollars, they told us this is most likely the fatal FIP. Either FIP or any other root cause, it happened in this hospital. My kid was a healthy indoor cat without any contact to the outside world.

I came here this morning after my dog Charlie ate a packet of rat Poison. The receptionist prioritized my case and my dog Charlie was seen immediately by Dr Anne Quain. Dr Anne was lovely. She explained everything and she was able to induce vomiting in my dog so that the packet of rat poison came out. I’m so grateful for her help. She saved my dogs life ! I also received a summary of her notes with the invoice - I thought that this was very professional. This vet is also very reasonably priced, I didn’t feel ripped off at all. I’m very happy that I came here.

This hospital is very unreliable. I saw the reviews and thought this might be worth for me and my pet to travel far away to get to this place. So I made an appointment two days in advance in order to have rabies vaccination. HOWEVER, when we arrived, vet told us she can't do vaccination because her scanner was broken. As a vet, isn't this your responsibility to check everything is working properly after client making an appointment? If you can't do it, you should tell me early so I don't need to waste of my time. This hospital isn't even worth a one star.

We bring our cat here for all her vet needs - which thankfully is only the annual vaccinations and staying in the boarding when we go away. The vets are great - very accommodating of our cat and her dislike of being held, and being stressed by being away from home. She always comes home from her boarding stays looking healthy. They will take you upstairs to see the boarding area. It has always been clean and the other cats look ok too - none seemed more stressed than you’d expect, so I’m happy to recommend it.

We’ve been coming here as a family for years. I’ve been head more recently as I just adopted a puppy. They’re all fantastic. For example, today I called to see if I could come in since my puppy Toph was covered in hives and was very uncomfortable. They squeezed me in for a quick consult and gave her a couple of shots and she’s now sleeping peacefully next to me. As always, for the easy and difficult times, inner west animal hospital Stanmore have always been a great support. Thank you so much guys <3

Hands down best vet I have ever dealt with. Understanding, caring, beyond helpful and genuinely great staff. They care so much about the animals and it shows. Ange was able to reassure us our cat would be OK and let us keep him there to be monitored during the day while we worked at no extra cost. They are unbelievably accommodating and listen to your fears, and will prioritise your pets health over everything. Go to this vet if you've had bad experiences elsewhere! Cannot recommend them enough.

I can't recommend the Stanmore vets highly enough. We took our cat to them for years and we felt we could completely trust them. Our cat has been ill with multiple diagnoses and the staff took care of her and worked out the best treatment. They're also very skilled at the smaller stuff such as blood tests. Our cat always behaved with them which told us she felt safe (which hasn't been the case at other vets) and the staff loved our cat. May and Esther were our regular vets and both were great!

We came here for our cat. The first time the vet was awesome. The second time we had a different vet and this vet was condescending, patronising, judgemental and didn’t handle our cat with care. There’s a better way to ask and answer questions. We wanted to ask questions about how to introduce a new puppy to our cat but we didn’t ask. We didn’t feel comfortable. We could sense she didn’t want to be there. We will be taking our cat and now our new puppy to a different vet clinic

Both Dr Angelas were fantastic and extremely knowledgeable. I brought my dachshund, Molly, to see them and within 24 hrs she’d been correctly diagnosed with a rare kidney condition called Fanconi syndrome. I’ve been to other local vets and know that such a rare condition would have taken much longer to diagnose (if at all). Molly was able to be promptly referred to a kidney specialist for further treatment. Highly recommend this clinic for anyone living in the inner west.

My daughter and I took her Ragdoll Cat "Freddie" to have a groom today as she was finding it hard to look after his coat. The staff were all so informative, from the first phone call to book him in to when I picked him up this afternoon. The whole process was explained prior to us leaving him which put us both at ease. He looks gorgeous, happy and much cooler. Thank you to all the staff that looked after him today - we are extremely grateful :)

I have been going to this vet for 6 or 7 years now and it is my go to of all the Sydney Animal Hospitals. The staff are friendly, caring and compassionate. All the Vets at this practice are exceptional, providing advice, information and care whatever the issue may be. In particular Dr. May is a standout, her compassionate and caring nature is incredibly soothing during times of stress. I cannot recommend this entire practice highly enough.

We're delighted & so appreciative of the team at SAH Inner West _ our girl's get a bit anxious & nervous when visiting Vet _ they would much rather be in the park or be walking streets whole enjoying a good sniff!!! Having said that _ they are always greeted & treated so warmly, that they forget all their worries soon after being seen. Only went here twice as a relatively new pet owner with 0 experience with vets prior. I met with 2 different ladies for both of my consultations. Conveniently, both ladies managed to slip in some extra costs onto my bill without my knowledge. One lady charged me for ‘free’ samples, while another charged me $40 for a singular drop of flea treatment (mind you I have all this at home). Very dishonest and sneaky. Do better guys.

I wouldn't want to take my cat anywhere else. My cat is very fluffy and needs regular grooming. She is also on the larger size and we have needed help with weight loss. The staff are amazing, and our cat is always calm and relaxed when we pick her up. I feel like they love her as much as I do. Proud to announce she lost almost 700grams over the winter thanks to their great advice :)

Always all staff at Inner West are professional and very caring. My cat Sebastian boards regularly with Inner West. He is always taken great care of, and is so unphased by his stays there, I am sure he thinks of it as his second home. He also hates being in the hospital section, and the staff consistently handle him well, and show great care for him, despite his aggressive behavior.

Everyone from counter staff to the Vets at this hospital are absolutely wonderful. They are caring and understanding and listen to your concerns about your beloved animal. I have always found their service to be excellent, the information provided helpful and clear for us to understand and the extra care they all take is always appreciated. I have been taking my current and past cats to this hospital for a few years now. Apart from being professional and all of the above qualities, they are always very caring. My cat was recently there for sixteen days with an eye problem that needed extensive medication. Everyone there was so kind, both to me as the distressed owner and to my darling cat. Highly recommend them!

I've taken my puppy there for a few times. Dr Anjuli is always professional and caring. My pup has a sensitive stomach and frequently woke me up(minimum twice a week) in the night for toilet(runs). The digestive food recommended by Dr Anjuli fixed the problem permanently. The only minor challenge is it's hard to find parking but that's nothing to do with the vet service.

These guys are fantastic! They've looked after many of our cherished feline babies over the last 15 years (some of whom could be less than perfectly behaved in such environs) & we can't thank them all or recommend them highly enough. Being open evenings & weekends is another brilliant bonus, along with their excellent "cat camp" boarding facilities

Such a lovely vet hospital. The staff have always been so kind and helpful, and my cats always enjoyed the spacious cattery when boarding there. They always made themselves at home especially in the outdoor area. Even when they stayed there for 5 weeks they came back home healthy, happy and relaxed which was such a relief especially since one of my cats is very shy.

I have a new baby kitten and so far all of my visits to this vet have been amazing. Wednesday loves all the vets and vet nurses and I can tell how much they love and care about her too. It’s always such a friendly and warm experience and they genuinely care about the animals that come through the door. I couldn’t ask for a better vet for our little girl. Thank you!

Excellent vet practice with skilled and friendly staff. Thet always take great care of our family dog and provide sound advise for maintaining his wellbeing between visits. They don't recommend unnecessary treatments or procedures and are fair and transparent in their pricing. They also send claims directly to pretty insurance providers which is very convenient

We have been taking our pets to this vet for over 30 years. They have never let us down. They have saved our pets from numerous ailments - rat poison, renal failure, toxic food, old age, ripped claws, and multiple “just in case” scares. They are always empathetic and beautiful with the animals they care for. We are so lucky to have the Inner West Vet.

Greg, our quite boisterous 2 year border collie, loves Dr Anne! A few vets and trainers were quite dismissive of him. Dr Anne is so engaged, patient and knowledgeable. Thoroughly recommend her due to her wonderful bed side manner and expertise. The staff on reception are also really friendly and attentive. The practice is clean and fresh.

Never met a more dedicated bunch who really have a creature’s comfort and wellbeing at heart. It’s a joy to see them greet our pets with affection. I feel confident that they never make unnecessary recommendations because they are kind and patient with us humans too, and explain all options and steps available. They’ve had my trust for years.

SAH Inner West provide a very professional and efficient service. All vets are knowledgeable and caring. I particularly appreciate the SMS reminders and booking confirmations. Love this place! My geriatric yorky needs a lot of attention these days so love the fact that Sydney Animal Hospital has great hours and all of the staff and doctors are amazing! so friendly and knowledgeable. Owning a bulldog means we are at the vet more often than most! The vets and nursing staff here are always excellent with Trevor’s treatment, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. We’ve been taking our dogs here for over ten years and they’ve always received the most excellent care. Angela was excellent with my maltese cross rogue. She nailed the diagnosis and we were on our way with antibiotics and pain killers and by the afternoon Rogue was so much better. Within a few days all symptoms had cleared up. Great facilities and very helpful staff. So happy to have made the switch to this vet!

SAH Inner West have been warm and caring local vets for us. They have often been pretty busy but always find time for our pup and give us the time and him the care needed. Our dog lost his leg to cancer only just over a year since we rescued him. The local vet has been a nice reprive from the specialists.

I simply would not consider going anywhere else.....always friendly, polite, professional, incredibly caring of our animals and informative during consult. Our dog LOVES going to them! My partner is a scientist by trade and notoriously difficult to impress when it comes to matters such as these. Both of us agree Dr. Spicer is the best vet either of us have ever dealt with. Dr Spicer's approach is as science-driven as it is empathetic.

Took my 17yo dog here after frustrating outcomes at previous vet. Dr Angela was very clear and straightforward regarding risks of surgery for elderly dog but reassuring that it was a risk worth taking. All went well. Very happy with their work and care.

My first visit to the Stanmore SAH, seeking a second opinion. Procedures were obviously different due to Covid 19 restrictions but I felt reassured by Dr EstherTarszisz and her diagnosis of my dog's problem and will definitely be returning.

I see Dr Angela Philips and she's awesome! What she doesn't know about dogs and kitty's hasn't been invented yet. She clearly loves animals and the other people that work there treat your animal like they're the foster mother for the day.

Excellent service from caring, professional staff! Having a 'special needs kitty' can be challenging when I have to travel for work. I always know Marti is in the best possible hands when I board him, or when he requires medical attention.

Angela and every veterinarian at Inner West Animal hospital are caring and professional with great knowledge and extensive experience. The clinic has extensive resources to treat almost anything in house. I cannot recommend highly enough.

This is a clinic that you can trust with your pet. Vets are informative and super nice. The staff is friendly and the service is always good. We have been visiting them for 1.5 years and used the pet hotel service as well with no issues.

Hugely impressive service. They saw our dog at very short notice when everywhere else was closed, following our dog getting attacked. Excellent service, very friendly and patient with our dog, and took really good care of her.

Terrible. Not interested in sick animals. Our dog was sick and the person at reception said to come back tomorrow. Also recommended we keep feeding him - he has diarrhea. Really dreadful.
