"I enjoyed my time here"
It was packed out due to the trade fest being on . The service took a long time and hard to get to the bar to get a drink but the bands playing were great so that created a great atmosphere.Upstairs was a much more relaxed atmosphere and easier to get service .The low rating is because the female toilets were absolutely disgusting. The toilets were overflowing and there was only one toilet that didn't have vomit, urine or poo leaking out of them or an overflow ball over the floor .The line up for the females toilets were massive but my partner advises that the men's toilet almost had a personal vallet in theirs and was really clean , perhaps I should have gone to the men's toilet .

We went here on a Friday night. The bar was full when we got there around 7pm but not overly crowded. The musician was great and played some popular hits. It was raining pretty hard while we were out, which made the Temple Bar area quite empty. We found the bartenders and the other people there were very friendly. The group behind us spilled their drinks about 3 times and the last one just about got them kicked out. For more recommendations and tips from our Ireland trip... Follow @vanmblin

I’m an italian exchange student and since i’m here in Dublin, “The auld Dubliner” is one of the pub where i’m going almost every weekend. The pub has got an incredibile Irish atmosphere and also if it is in temple bar zone, i think it isn’t too turistic as a pub. The prices are a little high for my opinion, beers cost at least 6.50 euro, but you know, we are in the most popular rode of Dublin so it is understandable. Since 17:00 till late there is live music and it is really nice seeing drunk fat dancing and singing. I suggest it to everyone.
Wow! Over 20 euros for 1 Guinness, 1 beer and a couple of packets of nuts. I was expecting a lap dance thrown in for that price. Got to be the most expensive drink in town! Just off the plane and first pub I walked into. Other bars in the Temple Bar area were busy but went in here as I was a bit tired after travelling from UK and just fancied a quiet pint. Should have questioned why there was nobody in there! Just have to put it down to a learning experience and next time ask the price before they serve.
I enjoyed my time here. The music, beer and food were great. The place was very laid back and not as loud like other establishments in the area which I liked. I had a great meal of Homemade Chicken Curry which was delicious but not too spicy. Also threw back some pints of Smithwick’s Ale which seems to go along with the meal nicely. I highly recommend this bar.

Very nice pub in Temple Bar, we were there on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. We enjoyed the beers, the live music and the atmosphere. It's a good place because people are friendly and even if it's in the center of the Temple Bar area is not expensive at all. I will never stop to say this: there's much more than The Temple Bar in Dublin. Discover all the beautiful and genuine pubs in town and avoid tourist traps!
Patty was an exceptional bartender. Started there early and was impressed by his service as well as Adams. I will for sure be visiting again. Thank you for tolerating us Americans. To patty, if that's your real name, I apologize for the photos but when one is a photographer, I can't help but highlight exceptional subjects. Thank you for an amazing last night in Dublin. Until next time.
I highly recommend the seafood chowder. Very friendly staff that made me feel welcome even though I wandered in just as the kitchen was supposed to shut down for the evening. Definitely a tourist haunt, par for the course in Temple Bar. The live music is fine and can be enjoyed in the company of a pint and absent the crush of the crowd by following the stairs to the bar upstairs.
My sister and I spent a week in Dublin, and of the 11 different pubs and bars we visited, The Auld Dubliner was our favorite late night spot. We ended every night with a pint at Auld Dub. The bartenders are adorable, friendly, and professional. It felt like a home away from home.

Always go to this pub Everytime we go to Dublin great bar went into it Wednesday the 14th and two staff were so so rude a northern fella and a blonde girl who should not be working with public with the attitudes they have they took our drinks and threw them down the sink and told us to leave so to the person who owns this bar should really know there staff
Amazing pub right in the centre of temple bar in Dublin. There was a huge range of pints and live music from the afternoon right until gone midnight, couldn't have asked for a more lively and fun atmosphere, would highly recommend a stop here! Knocked off a star because it got quite warm inside, a small price to pay for such a good atmosphere though.
Went for a drink two weeks ago. Bartender was super friendly and attentive. Drinks and food reasonably priced. Pub was nice. Not very crowded and live music all day, though I would have liked more Irish traditional tunes. Had veggie curry, well cooked except for the rice, which was not grainy in my opinion. Would highly recommend it.
Refused service after 1 pint !!! Very rude bar staff refused us service because he didn't like the look of me and my two friends the pub was very quite on a monday afternoon and the staff would not even warrant us with a reason as to why we werent allowed to drink here

Nice pub with great live music. We only had drinks and the staff was fine and quick. Prices high but thats temple bar. What‘s annoying is the staff in the toilet. He holds the soap for you and gives u a paper towel (things I can do myself) and expects a tip - the toilet itself was really dirty though.
A good time, very clean, very authentic Irish feel, be prepared to pay out, however it is very typical in the Temple Bar area. Worth a visit at least once if you're there for a short trip! We went on a Sunday around noon and it filled up within an hour but the service remained quick and friendly.
A bit less crowded than the temple bar few steps away but in no way a worse experience. Might not be a target on many bucket lists but it is a good place to visit grab a few pints have a chat and enjoy. Still crowded tho'. No surprise but there is live music here too, which elevates the feeling.
Was busy but great atmosphere good was gorgeous had the casserole.. service was quick recommend visiting

Always the most inviting atmosphere with an excellent beer range, lovely staff, fairly good prices and fantastic live music. All in the heart of the Temple Bar area. Feels homely and warm even though it’s right in a tourist hotspot. Highly recommend!

Had a great night's craic in this pub until a THING with yellow hair in a bun decided we couldn't sing a certain song and put us out in a very aggressive manner! In my opinion this person should not be employed here because she absolutely spoiled everyones night. Shame on her …
Incredible service even on a packed Sunday afternoon like today July 9th 2023. Definitely want to go back soon based on the efficiency of the crew working. The live music and vibe was second to none as well.

Great food and drinks for a fair price. There was a great live band playing at the first floor. Catelyn, our waitress was a sweetheart and the stew was on point. A good spot to run away from Temple Bar's hectic pace!

It's one of the best traditional Irish pub in temple bar street. Excellent live music and exciting ambience. This pub is small and often crowded, so for a maximum of fun, it's preferable to go there during the working days and not too late in the evening.
Stoped here for a lunch and a Irish Coffee. The barkeeper that served me had a beard an was very friendly even if I had some questions about the menu. The food was good and sonst took long to arrive. I paid around 26€ for both

Really nice bartenders. Try the “special” - it is smithwick’s red ale with some Guinness on top! Definitely recommend. Minus one star for the tourists infesting this place. It’s almost completely overrun by old white American tourists.
This is a great bar right in the hustle and bustle of temple bar. It's always jumping at the weekends with good music and great craic. Worth a visit.

Been many times over the years. In the heart of Temple Bar and just a brilliant vibe. Live music is amazing. Great for tourists looking for craic. Not cheap but but what bars are in Temple Bar!
Recommended for live music lovers. Gather in the evening with good music and a Guinness (or more). The only disadvantage is the price, at least 2 euros more than one street behind for a pint.
Guinness way over priced and not that good €15.60 for 2 pints. singer really poor never make X factor in a million years
