I was so excited to finally get a bike as it had been years since owning one and I moved to a location with close proximity to many bike trails. The service was great while I was in the store and I eagerly put down one hundred dollars to secure the hybrid bike I was looking for. They reassured me that I come could pick my bike up whenever I wanted. I left the store feeling excited and because the store was closing soon, I decided to come back the next day to finish the payment and get my bike. Unfortunately, I woke up the next morning right before I was about to come get my bike and found out they sold me a bike that was already sold to someone else!!!!!!!! When I was in the shop, there were two of the same bikes, so I asked about getting the other one, they said it was sold. While Jimmy was apologetic, he said the next time my bike would be in would be all the way in JANUARY. Any other types of bikes even similar to the one I wanted would not come in until September. I was so looking forward to having a bike and cannot believe how unprofessional this service has been. A bike that was already sold to someone else should NEVER have been sold to me and because it was sold to me, I should have been able to come pick it up. Or at the very least, offered some type of discount or something to make up for this terrible experience. What would have happened if I taken the bike yesterday, would they have come to my house and confiscated it?? If not, then they should have still given me the bike that I put a deposit down for. I have been waiting for years to get a bike and I am so disappointed by this shop. Stay away unless you are looking for an unorganized and unprofessional store experience. :(
Absolutely terrible customer service. We stop by today to look for helmets, a saddle, and a new bike bag. Had one of the worst shopping experiences I've ever had. We were looking at the un-boxed helmets on the display, and an older, female employee came over and very rudely started. lecturing us about not opening the boxed helmets. We weren't even looking at the boxed helmets, nor had we even touched one single box. A few minutes later, she came over while we were taking a picture of one of the helmets and told us that we weren't allowed to take pictures of anything in the store because all we wanted to do was look here and go buy online. she grabbed the helmet out of my hand, I nicely told her that she was very rude, and we left the store. And she started yelling bye-bye bye-bye bye-bye. This lady doesn't know me, but I go to great lengths to shop local. When I could easily click a button and order something online and I make an effort to find a locally owned shop to go purchased or order a product from them. But, I like to decide before and read reviews and watch YouTube reviews. Then, get the awesome experience of buying in person at local stores. The crazy thing is, she's all worried about people buying stuff online and this store sells products online. No one deserves to be treated the way we were. This local store has lost a customer forever.
I have been purchasing bikes from here since the late '80s when I started 'truly' riding and have never purchased a bicycle from anywhere else. I read the reviews and some say they are 'expensive'....well cycling is not cheap unless you go to Wally World. My lowest cost bike was about $400 and my most expensive is about $15,000. If they don't have your size, color, model in stock, THEY WILL ORDER IT as they did with my $15k bike. I've been to shops around the world and the old saying "you get what you pay for" holds true. If you head is only worth $10, buy a $10 helmet. Good Helmets start at $45 and go up to $240. I won't even think about putting a $10 helmet on my 11 year old daughter..... That's just crazy ! Service: I recently went to a shop in Bel Air MD and the mechanic answered a simple question wrong and out the door I ran. The Bike Line was able to fix an old internal 3-speed hub with over 87 splines that were not numbered and had to be installed in a specific order... Find another shop that can do that ! Do you want a highschool kid with an adjustable wrench and screwdriver assembling and working on your bike? You could screw it up at home just as good as that kid at Wally World can. When I need something fixed, I trust the Bike Line to fix my mistakes and have always had it come back PERFECT.
I have been going to The Bike Line for years; their staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. In 2015, I had an ergonomic injury to my shoulder, with a lot of PT and training the shoulder became much better but not perfect. Because of body positing, riding my 26 year old mountain bike would exasperate my shoulder injury. In 2016, since I was overdue for a new bike and my mountain bike was causing me discomfort, I went to The Bike Line for help. They helped me select a hybrid bike which was more appropriate for my current riding habits. Additionally, they were very patient and helped me select a much softer seat and a more upright stem, which helped my comfort by adjusting my body position. Most recently (2018), I needed a more secure and versatile bike lock system. I was using a short thin cable. After researching and concluding what I wanted I went to The Bike Line. The lock I wanted was a brand which they regularly carried, but the greater length was a special order item. The sales person at The Bike Line discovered that the longer lock was on back order due to a manufacturing issue. The sales person was persistent in following up with the manufacture and me to get the lock as soon as possible. The new lock works great. Thank you to the staff at The Bike Line for your help
I have been a customer of BikeLine for a couple of years, started after moving to Indy's northside. I could not be happier with the service I receive. I have traveled extensively throughout the US and make it a habit/hobby of visiting bike shops. BikeLine is a good as any and better than most. Additionally, I have worked with the staff on planning and implementing charity rides in Indy and find them extremely helpful and very dedicated to worthwhile causes. From sales - bikes and accessories - to support (repairs, advise, tweaking gears, etc) the staff is exceptional and dependable. During the last year or so I have put my money where my confidence is in buying 5 bikes from BikeLine- for wife,, myself and gifts for friends. I am currently in the process of ordering a custom made titanium bike (SEVEN) with the help and guidance of the BikeLine staff. Great experience. If you think you have been "short changed" or been treated badly, man-up, go in and talk with Charley, the owner. You'll be happy you did!!! P.S. After reading a few of the negative views, it seems to me that someone has a campaign going against BikeLine. Must be a petty issue of a small minded person or a competing business issue because they are so off the mark they are ludicrous.
I have tried to support this locally owned business, but experienced incredibly poor customer service. I believe them to be a group of ungracious owners who put their own interests above the interest of the customer. My bike fit, on a road bike purchased in-house, was disappointing at best, and did a disservice to my cycling. This included installing cleats on the wrong shoes so I could not clamp in, installing the brake levers in an unlevel position, and other miscues. Having now spent time with a professional fitter, I am not sure The Bike Line staff were very familiar with their fitting equipment. Be very weary. I would have thought the $200 for this service would have been refunded given the errors highlighted above, but that was never offered. The $250 I spent to have their errors undone at another local shop was money well spent. Most of my experience with this group has been a comedy of errors, and their attitudes toward the challenges couldn't have been more dismissive. I would suggest a quick trip to BGI (for Trek products) or another locally owned shop is well worth the drive.
Purchased (paid in full) a Trek Marlin 7 in December 2020. The bike was previously ordered and was scheduled for delivery in February 2021. At this time I was informed that due to supply issues it may be delayed. Last week (April 2021) we called and the bike was available. Great news, not too delayed, not a concern because they said to expect a delay. However, we were told that the purchase had a balance despite having paid the full amount 4 months before The explanation was that Trek raised the prices and they were passing that on to the customers. Furthermore, they were more than happy to refund us in full because there were plenty of customers that wanted to purchase the bike. A "take it or leave it" attitude and "it was not their fault". TLDR; -Paid for the bike in full - already ordered by the store and scheduled for delivery -Charged more to take possession -Didn't care about customer satisfaction because there is a high demand Outcome: -Lost all future purchases -Will share the experience with everyone that will listen
I had a very unpleasant experience with The Bike Line and will not be giving them any more of my business. I brought my bike in to address an issue with the rear hydraulic brake and what should have been taken care of in a single visit took multiple trips because the service manager, Keegan, failed to properly determine the root cause of the issue (a leaking brake caliper) and then contaminated the new brake pads on the replacement caliper as well as a new rotor because of improper technique. When I questioned him over the phone why he deviated from the planned work which would have avoided this contamination he got very defensive and impatient with me. When I asked to speak to a manager he very rudely informed me that “I AM the service manager and THIS IS THE END OF THE LINE.” Eventually I was able to speak to an owner who was not at all understanding and instead came off as very evasive and passive-aggressive. I strongly recommend going to Grey Goat or BGI for bike service by competent professionals.
I pre ordered a bike here and once it arrived the workers let customers ride my bike, that I put money down on. Tires were dirty and low on air; front wheel was loose almost ready to fall off! Owner and staff were not very nice after showing them the obvious proof that this bike I ordered had shown wear and tear and the integrated computer on the bike showed miles on bike. I ordered a Trek bike well worth over $8,000 and these workers let customers go test riding on it. Look at previous reviews the staff are known to sell pre order bikes to those who did not put money down on it and let them test ride the bike before the actual buyer comes in to buy the bike! Total non-sense, these staff members are crooks, they play friendly, but they are wolves in sheep's clothing. They all about making money well before the buyer comes in, no matter if I arrive four days after the bike arrives the staff members will sell my bike, to nearest interested customer.
Bought my bike here a year ago and they still take fantastic care of me. I went in a little past the time they offered a free tune up and they still did it for free with no questions asked. Don't get the feeling that they nickel and dime you for every little thing, they just want to help you have a great experience with your bike. I like to find the best prices on things and I purchased a cheaper bike from a big chain store. To make a long story short it was in their shop 6 times in 2 months. I finally returned it and shopped around at 6 different bike shops in the area. None of them compared to the customer service and friendly attitude in the Bike Line. I have had such a great experience that I brought my mother-in-law to get her new bike here a couple weeks ago. We will get my wife's new bike here and someday my kids when they are old enough. Can't beat the customer service you get here, would rate them a 6 out of 5 if it was a possibility.
We recently attempted to purchase a Trek Verve 2+ from the Bike LIne, but due to its cost ($2749) we needed to get the finances arranged, and put a $100 deposit down with the understanding that we had 2 weeks to complete the purchase. Less than a week later, we called to see it the bike was ready for delivery and we were told that it had been sold to another customer. To be fair, they attempted to call but had an old phone number in their computer. They did not have another bike of equivalent value available, so we were left without a purchase option. They also promised to refund the $100 deposit, but it took several phone calls and several days for the refund to appear on our credit card. Had we been the only customer to have experienced this type of situation, I would probably not be writing this review. However, there are others, and it demonstrates a pattern of practice for this dealer. Therefore, it merits this review.
Customers Come Second. Went to buy a few small part for a repair (hydro brake line inserts and olives) and they refused to sell it to me. Instead, they stated that they need to hoard all their supply and could not part with even two of them to a paying customer. Even offered to pay extra and they still refused to sell it. Forced to turn to Amazon and immediately found the part, and bought ten of them for $8 delivered in one day with free shipping. This lack of creativity to solve problems for customers is what is killing local bike shops and it appears to be rooted here unfortunately, where they aren’t able to consider solutions outside of QBP or other typical bicycle suppliers. Yea, paying retail for things isn’t a long term viable solution as a shop, but there are times one needs to be flexible and use all available sources (especially when supply chains are as messed up as they are).
This is officially my new, and only, bike shop for sales and service. The experience I had my first time there is the epitome of customer service and shining example of a business that appreciates you and wants you to come back. In a nutshell, I brought in both mine and my fiancé‘s Electra Townie’s prepared to drop them off and spend hundreds of dollars on what I thought the bikes needed. After a quick assessment I was not only told that they did not need anywhere near what I thought they did, but because it was a simple adjustment, they took care of it right there on the spot and I had my bikes back on my Jeep and headed home. When I insisted on giving them something for their time and honesty all they said was “we just want you to come back.“ I wish there was a way to give more than five stars. I will send everyone I know to The Bike Line.
I am not an experienced bike owner. I went into the bikeline and was greeted by Charlie the owner. He was very pleasant. He asked questions to find out my experience and expected riding. He showed me several options and explained the differences between models and features. He was never pushy or condescending. I was unfamiliar with higher end bikes so I researched his pricing at several stores and online. The bike lines prices were very good. Side note these are not walmart bikes. Much higher quality. If you looking for a $100 bike this is not the place for you. I decided to purchase a bike and te delivery and set up were very professional. I had no idea how much goes into bike sizing. The bike was delivered and is excellent. Afterward They gave me a discount on some accessories. Great store, great people. Highly recommend.
Talked to the Carmel and Broadripple stores about a new Trek. Was assured if I ordered it that day it would be in by Friday. Planned a bike trip for Father's Day that coming Sunday. Came in to get a recall done on the girlfriend's Trek brakes before we went and to buy some accessories for her bike. First they tried to tell me that there was no recall (one of their 20 year old kids that works there finally corrected them) then "Oh yeah, we never got around to putting your order in." Walked into Bicycle Garage Indy, Toby had me on my new Trek and out the door in under 30 minutes, beat Bike Line's price and sold me the same accessories we got for my girlfriend's bike for less. I advocate shopping local, and tried to keep my business in Carmel, but BGI has a customer and advocate for life after that.
I never leave reviews. I really don’t have time. And I never fully trust reviews about companies anyway. Most bad reviews come from miserable and bitter people. And let’s face it, sometimes good reviews simply come from close friends and family. I don’t know the Bike Line people. Never met them until a few Saturdays ago. My wife and I stopped in to kill time and check them out. We did not intend to buy new bikes that day. But Bill was so helpful, and the furthest thing from pushy. We ended up buying two bikes and could not be happier. Bill helped us decide what was best for us and didn’t try to up sell us. Honestly, I’ll never buy a bike anywhere else. You shouldn’t either. Locally owned and operated...decades of family ownership...just salt of the earth type people. It’s a no brainer.
They carry high end bikes. They are not cheap. That being said, they sold me on an expensive bike, and now I'm hooked. It was a big investment for me, but i needed a way to exercise without running (bad knees). They let me ride several bikes around their lot in Broadripple, and helped me select the right size. The bike is awesome! I now ride 4 days a week and love it. I had a cheap bike for years that collected dust. I only paid $100 for it, and now I feel like i paid too much because it just sits there. My new bike cost a bundle (more than some cars I've owned), but it gets used all the time. I tell my my friends that it has "Fahrvergnügen". I feel like it was a bargain, because it changed my life. I'm rapidly approaching 40 years old, but i feel like a kid again.
The personal attention and excellent customer service are second to none. I’ve shopped numerous bike shops in the area and always come back to the team that Bill and Jimmy lead so well for purchase’s. The bike service is unmatched. I recently took my road bike in for service and they were quick to get to work because they knew I was riding in an event a couple of days later. MY “failure to prepare emergency” became their mission to get the bike ready in time. I could not have been more satisfied. The bike felt like new and performed even better than expected in the 100 mile event. Our family has purchased numerous bikes from The Bike Line and will continue to do so as our cycling needs evolve.
I stopped by looking for a hybrid bike to replace a ten year old MTB for pleasure riding bike paths around Indy. After not having any hybrids in my price range, 1000-1400 dollars, the owner put me on a 29er MTB and told me that was what I needed. I tried to explain that I wanted to be able to cruise at faster speeds and would be riding around the city. The owner then told me I was young enough and looked like someone who should mountain bike. Overall I don't think it mattered to him what I wanted, he was not listening to my needs but instead pushing his MTB sales numbers. Go somewhere else if you are seeking advice or good service from someone who is concerned with finding you the right bike.
I have purchased 3 mountain bikes and 1 road bike from The Bike Line in Broad Ripple in the last six or seven years. Charlie Revard and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and provide excellent customer service. While I might have looked at other stores, I keep coming back here because of the customer service and price. They also provide repair and tune-up service, which I have used as well. Since the store is in Broad Ripple Village and literally within yards of the Monon, you have immediate access to just more than the bike store. At least go check out the new 2-story building. It’s totally cool. If you talk to Charlie, make sure to tell him I sent you!!! ♂️
I went to purchase shoes for my spin class. I was immediately drawn to the cutest dog hanging out in the store just following his owner/employee of Bike Line. The gentlemen was eager to help me as I had very little knowledge of what I needed. As I tried on two pairs multiple times, he was personable, kind, and extemely helpful. I appreciated that he started at the cheapest shoe option, too. He put on the clips for me and told me tips on how I would know if it was properly placed. To be honest, I was initially intimidated to go into a bike shop because I’m not an athlete. I was pleasantly surprised. It was a very enojoyable experience. I highly recommend the Carmel store.
I know this is the best shop in Indianapolis. Some of the reviews on here are extremely unfair and I wouldn't be surprised if they were solicited by competitors. The service portion of the Bike Line has taken my families bikes on the fly on numerous occasions. I'm literally in and out in less than 15minutes with a new tubes, tires, parts, etc..., installed. This is a store that cares about finding you the right bicycle as well. If you're in a hurry to shop for a bike go to the Bike Garage. They'll sell you whatever they have in stock ASAP. If you're interested in purchasing a bike you'll love and cherish for years to come this is your shop.
The Bike Line has always been great to work with. I feel like their staff is friendlier than I find at a lot of bike stores. A lot of times going into a bike store like that can be a little intimidating, but they are very easy to talk to even if you are new to the sport or looking to buy kids bikes or recreational cruisers. They also have great racing bikes and a great selection of performance wheels. I have my bike tuned up there whenever it needs it and they are always really good about finding any potential problems, and suggesting solutions that are appropriate and not too expensive. I feel like they are very fair with their pricing.
Took my Trek Domane in for a tune-up and inspection following an accident where I ate the pavement and the bike went flying. (Be careful in the roundabouts!) Tires and chain were due for replacement but inspection revealed cracks where spokes meet rim. Glad that was found prior to the Hilly Hundred and 40+ MPH downhill speeds. Keegan serviced my bike and one of the other shop personnel said my bike would feel like a new bike. He was right! What an amazing difference. Smooth, accurate shifting. Very quiet operation. Highly recommended. Will get a tuneup every year from here on out. Thanks Bike Line!!
After having been out of cycling for 20 years, and at the recommendation of a friend, I brought in my road bike to Bike Line for a tune-up, tires, lights etc. Jimmy took great care of me. Listened patiently to my concerns. Recommended solid products. Didn't try to over sell me. Turn around on the tune-up was extremely fast. I picked up my bike from Shawn. He helped me pick out a great helmet (again, didn't over sell me). Listening to him I got some great tips / advice. (Thanks to Dawn too for her help!) The Bike Line earned my trust to take care of me through this experience. Thanks guys!
I bring my bike to Bike Line whener I need repairs because I live near Broad Ripple. Frankly, I’m sorry and surprised that other commenters have apparently had bad experiences here. The staff have always been very friendly, respectul, and transparent with me. They let me know the cost breakdown in advance, and they always solve the problem within the timeline they give (sometimes quicker!). I’ve never bought anything from here, so I can’t comment on the sales team, but I would at least definitely recommend this place on the Service side.
Home for the holidays, I needed a spacer or two on my hub for a bike I'm building this winter. Was going to be in Broad Ripple to meet an old friend, so I came to Bike Line. The shop I had visited before is currently missing, but their workshop is still around, and the guys inside were incredibly helpful and courteous. They got me the spacer I needed and even some shims I needed to make the derailleur clamp fit. I will definitely be back to Bike Line when their new storefront is built, and I'll probably ride in on the bike I'm building.
I have been a customer for 17 years. I am a life long Trek guy so I like the product line, and I like the relaxed family atmosphere. I’ve bought quite a few bikes working with Bill and he has given me sound advice and helped various family members to get appropriate bikes that fit well. I’ve referred several friends who have also been happy with their set ups. Special kudos to Keegan who is a great mechanic, very knowledgeable, and has always gone above and beyond to solve problems and keep my bikes in tip top shape.
Moved to the area fairly recently. Thought this would be my local bike shop, but since I didn't buy my bike from them, they wouldn't even look at my standard disc brakes to see if they could help out. Could not be bothered type of attitude. The gentleman in line behind me even asked the service person if he was sure about blatantly skipping me in line. Poor customer service is always disappointing but particularly so, when intending to support locally owned biz. At least big box has a path for recourse...I guess.
I can always count on The Bike Line for courteous and professional advice for sales and service. I have purchased 2 bikes from them in the past 12 months, and their staff could not have been more helpful in making sure that I purchased the correct bikes for their intended use. I especially appreciate how diligent they have been in implementing a safe environment for customers and their staff during the pandemic. I would not hesitate recommending this bike shop to my friends and business associates.
I and my family had previously spent about $400 at this store over the last year in bike repairs and clothing purchases. I had a relative who worked for Trek and could get me a good deal on a pair of bike shows, so I went to this store to get measured. The owner literally ran me out of the store. Neither me nor anyone in family will ever return. I can understand that they are frustrated by losing business to Internet stores, but running customers out of your store is extremely short sighted.
Bought three bikes from here last year, one for me, one for my wife, and one for my son. Got a really good deal on all three. The owner and staff were very friendly and patient. But look, these bikes aren't cheap. They're high end, high performance bikes. If you want a Huffy, shop at Walmart. I've stopped by several times since while out biking just to chat with the guys in the back. Everyone knows each other. If Cheers took place in a bike shop, this would be it. It's a great place.
This is the absolute best bike shop I have ever been to! Their customer service is best in class and they do the most terrific job taking care of all your bike needs. We have bought four bikes from them and been crazy happy with them. They do all our tune-ups and everything, too. The owners are super good people and it adds a nice personal touch when they always remember you, know what you are looking for to suit your biking needs, etc. A++!! Thank you!
Great service! I had a fixed-gear track bike built onto a new frame, transferring components as well as installing new ones. The bike mechanic was terrific. Took his time and made sure that I was satisfied with my new setup. Couldn't be happier with them. And....with social distancing in progress, they had an efficient outdoor waiting process. They were friendly and treated EVERYONE with respect. Suggesting anything otherwise is utterly ridiculous. 'Nuff said.
Bought a bike this week and it was a great experience. First time buying a bike at a bike shop. Worked with Jordan and he was knowledgeable and helpful. Took time to make sure that the bike fit and gave great tips in caring for and making sure that the bike fit. They had quite a few bikes on hand so was able to try different sizes to assure selection. If looking for a bike and want to deal with honest and helpful staff I would strongly recommend The Bike Line.
Good mechanical work, poor communication. Took a bike in to have some new hydraulic shifters and brakes installed. The mechanical work done seems (so far) to be very good quality, but they decided that my chain was too stretched to properly set up the shifting (something that raises my eyebrows a bit) and replaced the chain without ever letting me know that was something they needed to do, so that was a ~$45 charge I was completely unprepared for.
This is a family owned and operated business that strives to take care of its customers. I have gone in a few times and feel they know me immediately when I walk in and are eager to help. They know my family as well and treat my kids with great respect while always looking to get it right. Whether it’s the fit of a helmet, the size and color of a sock, or the repair that keeps us rolling, The Bike Line will do everything they can to get it right.
I have given The Bike Line a number of chances and I continue to leave with a bad taste in my mouth. They make a habit of speaking down to customers, a review I have heard from most everyone I know that has visited the shop. The never seem to have stock in any of the parts I am looking for (even when they are very common) and they have a very small selection of tools and consumable products. I only ever stop in because of location convenience.
Charlie and family are knowledgeable, helpful, and truly care about making sure you have just the right bike. I love riding my new ebike. I appreciated being able to test ride, and am glad they had the selection that allowed me to quickly get the right sized frame. These folks are really great at making someone who is more of a casual rider feel competent in making a decision about what would best meet her needs. Thank you The Bike Line team!
Stopped in recently to look at bikes. Bill ended up helping us. We were looking at bikes for me, wife and kid. He let us try out different bikes, talked about differences and helped us make decisions. He even offered to delivered the bikes for free the next day. While the bikes can be expensive, Bill was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I’d definitely go back if I needed to get another bike one day or other items needed for bike.
The entire staff including Charlie were amazing. I went in thinking about a bike and wanted educated. They did just that. They saved me money as their prices were less than the local competition. I purchased a Domane SL6. I’m excited to start racking up some miles. Charlie invited me in to show me how to do some minor repairs as needed during my rides. That is customer service. That creates “Raving Fans” like me. Well done.
This company is where it's at. During the stay at home order they have remained open. I have been attempting to get a trailer for my mini-me. With the companies all on back order, the costumer service at bike line has been top notch. Jimmy has been great about taking my called everyday and assisting me in getting me a trailer! I think he may move mountains as a favorite past time. Keep it local and ask for Jimmy!!
The Bike Line is a great bike shop with extremely knowledgeable staff. They offer a wide variety of accessories, yet favor the Trek brand. If you're looking for a new bike, I'd recommend checking out The Bike Line. The shop does tend to get crowded and I've had to wait 10-15 minutes to have my questions answered, but the staff takes time with each customer to make sure any and all questions have been answered.
Just bought my 3rd bike from them (started with a basic road bike for a few years, then upgraded to a carbon fiber frame, now took the plunge and bought a tri bike). Overall, this is just a superb family run small business consisting of super nice people who are extremely knowledgeable and have biking built into their DNA. Lastly, they've helped me to get connected with group rides and indoor winter training.
Much more focused on "sales" than "service." Was told "we don't work on Canyons because they sell online." After I pushed back-since components are standard and I have the new frame- quoted "at least $300" for a rebuild. REI was $230 and didn't shame me for buying a brand they don't sell. Just disappointed since I really wanted to continue supporting a local independent bike store but won't be returning.
So I just pulled off the trail because I wanted to see if my handlebars could be raised. The guy was so nice to me!! My bike is not one of the more expensive brands, but he treated my "Huffy" like it was a Cannondale or GIANT. Nevertheless, great Service. He personally picked my bike up and took it upstairs. The RESULTS well my handlebars are Raised!!!! Thank YOU BIKE LINE!!!!
My husband and I just got new bikes and equipment from the Bike Line. Charlie, the owner, spent a few hours on two separate occasions explaining all the different equipment. He even special ordered my size of bike to try before purchasing. He was honest with us about what we needed and didn't try to over sell us. We will be returning to this shop and suggesting it to friends!!
The three brothers running this first-rate bike shop offer the most comprehensive and patient service I have ever received. There isn't another shop in town that can compete with how much inventory of top brands they have on hand. No waiting till 2023 to get your dream bike. I got mine, fully outfitted, in less than 3 hours! Thank you, guys! I am one, very happy customer!
These were the first guys I met when I moved to Carmel, even before buying a house. (Priorities, of course). I ride Campy and they speak Campy. Keegan is a great mechanic, and Bill and Jimmy welcomed me to their club ride. I have purchased wheels, bikes and frames from them, and have never been disappointed. It's nice to buy your bike stuff from good people.
Me and my wife wanted to get our first bike but we didn't have much knowledge about it. All I knew was I wanted to buy Trek hybrid bike but wasn't sure about the exact model. Bill helped us choose the right bike and he was very helpful right from choosing the bike until it got delivered to our place. Thank you Bill for helping us out. I really appreciate it.
Bought mine and my wife’s Trek bikes here. This company has a huge influence on the Monon here and has done so much to make Carmel a better city. The owner went out of his way to help us and I’m sure would continue to after the purchase of the bikes. I haven’t had any problems with my bikes yet to see but I have no doubt he would. Wouldn’t go anywhere else.
Just had a wonderful service experience here! I brought in several bikes with problems and they were able to fix a couple right on the spot (with about 20 min to spare before closing time!) The parts were reasonably priced and Charlie knew his stuff. They made sure I didn’t pay for things I didn’t need —so appreciate their honesty and no nonsense approach!
This is the best bike shop in Indy! They have been around forever and have always answered all my questions!! The Broad Ripple location sells high end mountain bikes. Expect to pay high end prices. They carry bikes that the other bike shops will have to order with a 4-6 week wait. The Bike Line is a great place and Charlie and his crew are top notch!!
The people at this bike shop are super helpful, have fair prices, and go the extra mile to help their customers! I needed a new wheel for my bike asap and they were able to find one that was appropriate for me at a good price and get it swapped out same day. And it's close to the Monon, so super accessible for cyclists that can access it!
So far i have had a great experience dealing with the Bike line, i ordered some parts pre-covid , that i was not able to pick up until last weekend. They were slammed with work and people. But were able to get my wife's bike in and installed the parts and got it back to me same day! Great customer service the 2 times I've been in there.
Went in today to get my trek verve 2 some new tires having been concerned about low thread. The Mechs were honest and let me know I actually had another year/season given my average miles put in. It was a pleasant and refreshing experience, I get another season on my tires, and they will be my go to for bicycle services as always.
This was by no means an easy build. But by the time this project was complete, every single staff member had a part in helping me build my dream bike. Even though fixies aren’t their speciality, the staff assisted in locating compatible parts and getting them in a timely manner. Thank you a thousand times staff of Bike Line.
Fantastic experience buying my first road bike from them after researching all area bike shops. Everyone there is extremely friendly and goes above and beyond to work with you on getting the right equipment and answering all questions that I had. Would not hesitate to recommend and will definitely use them in the future.
Great selection of affordable, high-quality products made available through the attentive and reasonable service of knowledge cycling peoples comes second to none with The Bike Line. Offers service on Trek bikes, and vendor for Bontrager components, that said these folks will help you with any need to get you rolling.
I haven't had the opportunity to meet any of the ownership team yet-- Charlie, Bill or Jimmy Revard. However, I've worked with Keegan and Jordan for a few service-related needs. As a fellow local business owner with Quiptu, this team's top-class. Couldn't recommend this store more for bike needs in Broad Ripple/Nora.
Was traveling through and needed to have my bike fit adjusted. Jimmy got us right in and was incredibly knowledgeable and skilled at bike fitting. Not just Jimmy, but everyone at The Bike Line is fantastic providing nothing but the best customer service! Will be stopping in any and every time I am in Indianapolis.
My wife an I had an excellent experience purchasing two road bikes at The Bike Line. The staff in knowledgeable and friendly and the show room is well stocked and tidy. Bike shops are great places to go to get excited about life and you will be hard pressed to find a better one than The Bike Line.
Had a great experience at the Bike Line. We spent some $$ and were steered away from the things that we really didn't need. Very happy with new bikes. Have not had experience with service center yet but my hubby will be taking his tri bike there for tune-ups and work so stay tuned...
Got a new freewheel put on my bike here. Service was ok but the guys seemed over it and uninterested. Also, came to pick up my bike and the air in my rear tire was low even though I dropped off the bike full up in both tires. Usually you get your bike back ready to ride away.
Basically walked in off the street with my bike and they took it in and evaluated it and replaced my break pads for a truly reasonable price. They texted me a few hours later to let me know it was ready for pick up. Going back for a complete tune up in a couple of weeks.
My 11 year old son has just started his adventure with a love for bikes. He looked 3 weeks and we found his dream Trek at Bike Line. The guys were great and assembled it in one day! He can't wait to go back and get his 90 day tune up and hang out with the staff...
Expensive, but great. They have Trek, Bianchi, and a couple I'm unfamiliar with. Employees are awesome and very knowledgeable. Service on whatever your bike is is reasonable and exceedingly knowledgeable. One of the best places in town for service. They're geat!
Really nice employees, came here and oogled all the cool bikes I couldn’t afford and they were not pushy or invasive. Really enjoyed the selection. The Fat Trek was really cool to see because they are usually only online, and stores don’t usually stock them.
This is a great shop and always friendly and knowledgeable. They have been a great resource throughout the years and have done a great job providing continued maintenance items for my many bikes in the COVID-19 time with their responsible curbside service.
The Bike Line was recommended to me by Kate Nolan of DNK Presents. I took mine and my kids bikes in for service. Shawn is very knowledgeable and .courteous. He is always very quick on repairs. The cost is always very fair. This will be my only bike shop.
I brought a (new to me) older bike in on Saturday and was able to receive an honest service recommendation on the spot. The most surprising experience for me was that I was able to have the service completed and pick up my bike in a matter of hours!
Worst service customer service. I’ve witnessed multiple times when a passerby on a bike just needs to have something adjusted/tightened (seat post clamp, brake lever, etc.) and they just flat out say no. I was buying a small part in a pinch
This past year, we have bought 2 bikes from them. Their service and enthusiasm has made the bikeline the only place i go to get my cycling stuff. Their whole entire family has dedicated themselves to cycling, unlike other "bike" stores that
The moment you need a help to fix whatever on your bike, it's great to have local bike shop. However, to look around, to find a bike for a specific purpose, I think what they have are limited, example: rain proof jacket. They only have one
I have never been to a worse bicycle shop than Bike Line in Broad Ripple. Just today, they charged the guy in front of me $27 to change a tube. He was shocked and I couldn't believe it either. And then they wouldn't let me borrow a presta
Came in to get a tube repair and chain adjusted. Was told if I paid for tune up it was included along with other adjustment services for $85. Next day got the call of other repairs they "discovered" doing the tune up so now I have to pay
The price is fair - the selection of items is wide and present a nice variety. People are knowledgeable and passionate. With covid they really make it easy and safe to shop. Did a great job on fixing a bike. 5stars all spoke ahead.
Everyone at the Bike Line is so friendly and helpful, especially Jimmy! The store is gorgeous too, I just want to stay there! I have bikes shops way closer to me I could go to, but I keep making that ride up to the Bike Line.
Highly recommended local business. I had a bike tuneup ($95) and a good experience with this locally owned bike store. They have a large inventory and knowledgeable staff. I will return if I need any future bike repairs.
I ordered a frame set and they helped me decide on what size was best for my height. After having built it myself using parts that I had and bought from them I now have a great fitting bike that fits me perfectly.
Great and fast service. Went to replace my bike chain and the employee ended up helping me make a few quick fixes so that my bike could ride faster and safer. Will definitely be going back
Selling you a bike, this is a great shop. But if you need help with modifications even when you're paying for it to make your bike fit to you, I probably would find Somebody Else.
I bought a bike there a few years back and was completely satisfied. Today I broke the shift cable on a different bike and they were able to fix it right away!! Thanks.
Great local shop - family owned and operated. Just bought again yesterday! A new Trek Marlin 6 and couldn't be happier. Great for repairs or upgrades. Thanks Charlie!
Went in to look for a bike seat. Bought a bike. Great Customer service. Gave me a nice rundown of the bikes they carry and the features. Definitely recommend.
Great experience. Easy to purchase online and easy pickup. Everything went very well and I am excited to ride this bike.
Great selection of bikes. The lady that I spoke with was very nice. Would love to give them my business!
I needed a new tube for my fat-tire eBike; they were unable to help me and told me to go elsewhere.
The staff is awesome! The Revards are smart, friendly and professional. Sean is a great mechanic.
I have bought 5 bikes over the last several years, always positive experience. Highly recommend.
