"I've been a student at Knox for 10 years now, and it isn't just the length of time that I've been at the school that makes it feel like home, it's the community"
We've been with The Knox School for 9 years now with 2 children attending and I have only positive things to say about TKS. The school is a tight knit community and the smaller size allows students to experience personalised learning which we felt greatly benefited our children. The school has strong academic results and an equally impressive Music and Performing Arts program that encourages and nurtures talent from a young age. This is in addition to STEM, Tournament of Minds, Entrepreneurship, Equestrian and many such programs that allow students to have a range of experiences outside of the standard curriculum. The teachers are fantastic, approachable and willing to address any concerns that parents might have. The Principal and his leadership team are always accessible and open to feedback/suggestions. I would highly recommend The Knox School for those looking to invest in not just a quality education for their children but to experience the many extra-curricular opportunities that the school has to offer.
I have three students at The Knox School and have experienced both Junior and Senior Schools, as well as government primary schools. All three of my children have blossomed at this school, due to the large number of opportunities offered to them, that may not have been possible at a larger school. The sense of community and drive for individual learning pathways are allowing them to be better prepared for life after school, than if they were attending schools who might spoon-feed teaching. Leadership, Music, Tournament of Minds, STEM, Entrepreneurship are just a few of the areas in which a student can thrive. The Principal and staff are all approachable and any problems I have come across so far have been satisfactorily dealt with. I would recommend this school to those considering a non-government, non-denominational school, where children are encouraged to go beyond the curriculum and find a passion in the many extra-curricular options on offer.
The Knox School (TKS) provides a welcoming and inclusive environment with leading educational thinking and practice. It is a relatively small school where teachers and students know each other well. I am impressed by the leadership of the school and the quality of the staff. As a current parent at the school, I believe it would be a rare child that would not thrive in the pastoral care and educational environment fostered at TKS. The school produces excellent academic results through challenging its students to think, not though spoon-feeding them. One of the most attractive qualities of the school for me is that it truly seeks to prepare its students for life after secondary education. It has a range of complementary programs in academic disciplines, music and sports which provide students with opportunities to broaden their thinking and learn leadership, empathy, resilience and other critical life skills.
Our children started at TKS in Junior school. We originally chose the school based on the experience of previous family members and their positive endorsements. Years on and our kids are almost through senior school and we have nothing but good comments to make about our own experience there. The smaller class sizes have been very beneficial, not only for the personalised learning but for the greater relationships between the whole school cohort. The staff really get to know the students and this is further enhanced by the extensive tutor program that has been implemented in recent years. Throughout the years we have experienced the kindness of many staff members willing to go over and above in supporting our children on their academic and personal journeys. It really is a beautiful school community.
I've been a student at Knox for 10 years now, and it isn't just the length of time that I've been at the school that makes it feel like home, it's the community. This school feels like home for me and I know my friends feel the same. The small yet tightly knit community we have at Knox means that no one gets left behind. The support programs available to students for wellbeing is never lacking through the mentor program or any teacher or student that you walk past. The school provides great teaching, not just based on study designs but on character, leadership and kindness. teachers or alumni tutors are always on hand either on campus or through Microsoft teams. It's also evident that the teachers are here for their passion, and not extrinsic motivators. I'm so grateful to have attended this School.
R. Stiglec is a teacher with no regard for students' mental health. On every occasion he's spoken to me, he's always behaved in a manner which is insulting, egotistical, condescending, mocking, and / or short - tempered. Other teachers might be hard on you because they want you to succeed, and are pushing you to do well. On the other hand, R.S. always came across simply as a bitter person who gets satisfaction from coming to work each day and using his power to belittle students. Many other students agreed with me. He needs to completely rethink the way that he approaches his job, or he shouldn't be teaching.
Very happy with the school. The size and number of students provides a real community feel and allows for a closer relationship between teachers and students. The principal and teachers are all approachable and encouraging and we receive regular communications as to how our children are progressing in addition to class, year level and school news to ensure we are kept well informed. The school provides many opportunities for children to enhance their personal development through extra curricular activities, programs and other initiatives and we're proud to be a part of the school.
I have enjoyed a long association with The Knox School (TKS) and have found it to be an outstanding school. It has a focus on strong values to support the students education. TKS has consistently provided a nurturing environment where Teachers are engaged with a positive focus on the best education for students. The school has strong leadership with a vision for delivering personalised learning. As the school grows it keeps getting better!! I would certainly recommend The Knox School as an Independent school of choice.
Since moving our daughter to the Knox School during Year 7 she has blossomed into a resilient young woman today. This is a tribute to the professionalism and the empathetic nature of the staff who have each individual student’s best interests at heart. We are highly appreciative of the direction set by the Principal and his entire leadership team. Our daughter has also reaped the benefits of the caring and embracing community at The Knox School. We highly recommend The Knox School. Ann & Brian Witney
As a past student myself of the Knox School from the 1990's, I am now delighted to be sending my child to the school. In the 18 months my child as been attending The Knox School I have been very happy with all aspects of the learning. The Knox School Principal Mr Alan Shaw is wonderful, he has a very modern style of leadership and is very approachable. I would recommend this as a fantastic school for any child as it is a very caring school and has a real sense of community.
The admission staff was lack of friendly and enthusiastic with poor service. While Tintern is ready to offer me a private school tour and very kind asking a lot of questions and make arrangement to suit my timetable for school tour, this knox school admin does not bother to ask anything, just simply tell me to go to the website, search information about school tour myself and join if I can. Ridiculous service and attitude, not worth to pay money for.
Lovely private school and grounds. We attended for a private, outside school hours music concert hosted in the auditorium. There's plenty of parking, but none particularly close to the auditorium, so prepare for a walk (concrete paths & some covered walkways); adventurous wheelchair access. Amphitheatre style seating, in comfortable chairs (steep carpeted steps, with no hand rails). A very intimate experience. Toilets and water bubblers on site.
An excellent school with high quality infrastructure and high quality teaching methods. Made great lifelong friends here. I would like to thank the former principal Allan Shaw for giving me the scholarship that made all this possible. However TKS still remains a small school. I moved out to pursue wider connections at Melbourne High as I find it useful in a law and politics career. TKS nonetheless still has a special place in my heart. ❤️
I have been a student at TKS for 9 years now and I have loved my time at this school. The teachers are caring and always have your best interests at heart and the level of education is at such a high standard. The whole staff is caring and always deals with issues with integrity until it is resolved. I would not want to go anywhere else, as the facilities, the teachers and the students are some of the most amazing
We couldn't be more satisfied with our experience at The Knox School. After moving both children from an elite private school their academic learning took off. Our daughter graduated in 2018 and exceeded all expectations. The academic and social care and concern for both children has been first class. Most impressed!
Strong academic results, personalised learning and broad education. Staff always communicative and available with a strong community feel across students, staff & parents. Classroom, Music and Sports environments are inclusive and confidence building.
As an outsider / visitor I love the architecture and landscaping. Plenty of parking spaces. However I don't know anything about this school's academic or other curricular activities performance. My kids are studying in a different school.
attended this school 2 years ago. Bad treatment of students and peers, ranging from social exclusion to racial prejudice. Bad support of teachers to support ones learning despite motto of "achieving your personal BeSt"
Beautiful grounds with only full sized hockey field in area. Fantastic staff caring and highly trained. Very clean modern buildings and grounds. Excellent music program and Sister school relationship China
Literally the worst. If I could rate -5 stars I would. The teachers care more about your socks than your wellbeing, education was mediocre, I'm so glad I moved schools DO NOT SEND YOUR KID HERE!!!!
A great school in a small community with amazing teachers. We feel it offers our children endless opportunities & nurtures their talent. They love going to school.
This is a great school!! My brother is a student here and I will be joining next year can’t wait! I’ve seen so much positive feedback about this school!
My daughter went to this school and she absolutely loved it. There was plenty of opportunities and great teachers. She also made lots of great friends.
The Knox School is an independent, co-educational, non-denominational day school, located in the eastern Melbourne suburb of Wantirna South, Victoria.
I’ve attended this schools for 7 years, and it has been amazing. The facilities are very good and the staff and teachers are very nice. Thanks
Really great experience, I am in year 6 and just learnt all about DSLR cameras and so much more! Bailey I agree Mr. White is amazing!
Student of african descent was forced to leave school due to racism from piers. Staff exemplified ignorance when handling the issue.
My Daughter Is attending Prep This Year and She loves this School. She is Learning so much at a fast speed. Its very impressive!
The school is great for my kid and my kid loves it. Teachers are great and she doesn't want to leave this school.
Never ever forget those wonderful people at the school. I owe them a lot esp. Allan + Cameron + Hether
"Tell me you got robbed without telling me you got robbed." me: "I went to the Knox School."
The kindness and warmth of the teachers who do their best for each student is the best.
This is one of the worst places I’ve been to with regard to pram/wheelchair access.
It's a good school but really expensive.. not worth your money... so many extras...
