I was so happy that Kowloon Cafe has finally landed and opened its store in the city, so it does not take me too far to go to the Eastern suburbs to enjoy the food. I know it has been opened for quite sometime and I have been a regular customer eversince, but to my opinion, the latter branch is not as ready as the others. Recently I had dinner here around 6.30 and almost all the menu were not available or either sold out. I was told there would be a change of menu which is different from the other branch. They have started selling selection of noodles with various choices of the meat and veggies. It tasted okay, however, I would prefer the original menu. As a pineapple bun fan, I still do think Kowloon Cafe's the best. I would certainly be back for this bun with a cup of HK style milk tea. In this area, this would be a good place to dine or having a take away as it is located in a very prime location.

I normally went to kowloon Cafe City in Glen Waverley which food is yum but need to line up for a while. Yesterday I shopped around CBD and notice there is a new branch of Kowloon Cafe City and surprisingly no need to wait to be seated. We ordered 6 fried chicken wings, fish ball+pig skin+raddish, and two hot condense mike tea. the mike tea is good as usual, however, the chicken wings went wrong which were much much over marinated and too salty. Fish ball ok but pig skin and raddish taste plain. Quite disappointed. Not sure if I should give it a second try.......

If 90s HK & Stephen Chow movie is your vibe - come through to the lucky guys Had a late lunch today as I had some errands to do in the area. I ordered the special set meal to eat inside the restaurant. For $21, you get soup of the day, drink and mains. Damn good deal in the city for sure The HK borscht soup is real punchy and acidic, which was really good to cut any greasy feeling from the Portuguese Chicken Cheese fried rice. As well as the HK iced "yeen yeung" (coffee/milk tea combo) was a refreshing taste for the palette and not too sweet. Thank you for having me and always hope you guys get lucky

Chanced upon this cafe during our visit to Melbourne Chinatown area. It's located within the KMart building. (Quite hidden) superb authentic Hong Kong style cuisine and their staff spoke in Cantonese which is a familiar language. Food portion is huge and savoury. They also served HK pineapple bo Luo bun, sai duo si (HK styled toast), HK styled milk tea, yuan Yang etc.... all our familiar food favourites. Please patronize them if you are here in Melbourne and wish to have some comfort HK styled food. Highly recommend

Kind and caring staff, authentic soups and meat dishes. I had one of the best char su and crispy pork soup very tasty. Tables clean staff work very hard for small family business. I'd give 10 out of 10 if they had it. Perfect meal.

Wheelchair accessibility
In the front of the shopping centre, they have stairs and a wide ramp, very accessible for wheel chairs or motorised scooters.
Cool, busy, happening place. I ordered a bowl of Satay Beef Nissin Instant Noodles with Ham Omelette Butter Toast and a can of Coke ($15.50), which made up the lunch set. Fast delivery, decent taste. The noodles were generic instant noodles but the beef and the toast were good. The place definitely is a cafe-restaurant hybrid, which makes it a fun place to hangout with friends. I'll need to try a few more items. Happy eating!

Insta: markandelly_eats Kowloon Cafe is a solid Hong Kong style cafe. I used to grab HK cafe food every weekend back in Canada so I was pretty excited to check this place out. Everything we ordered were decent. Simple, classic hearty HK food. I am no expert but they tasted just like the ones I had back home. Generous serving size and I was absolutely full by the end of it. The service was pretty quick too even though it was absolutely packed. Keen to try their famous pork chop next time!
Came here for lunch, lots of Hong Kong esque items on the menu. The dish I had was very tasty and very filling. The Hong Kong coffee is served very hot and has a nice flavour to it that's different from your typical coffee. Service was also very prompt and friendly. Sometimes they don't have all their menu items avaliable though.

So this place is a bit nostalgic for some. For me it was ok. Service was a bit different. Waving at a waiter and then looking at you and ignoring must be some new kind of service offering. But if you’re into this sort of nostalgic Hong Kong food then it’s a hit. It’s cheap too! Surcharges for all cards do bring cash to avoid.

Food was pretty bland, the butter on my bread was literally spread on 1/8 of it. Service was bad, dk what i did to offend him but cashier was impatient and sarcastic to me. Area was really tight as well which made it difficult to get out to order and check on orders.

This restaurant is what you would expect to see in Hong Kong with its cha chaan teng style menu (greasy spoon cafe). Tight seating inside and some seating is communal. My wife found she was less home sick when eating here. Would come back again for the coffee tea and french toast.

Another great and cheap Chinese restaurant in the city. It has changed over the years but the basics are still there. Primarily soup based where you get to choose the brooth noodles and three items to include. Seating is largly communal, staff will direct you at a vacant that may on a table with other people.

Reasonable price and good foods. It was my first Hong Kong breakfast. The set meal includes drink, so I chose the milk tea with condensed milk that was not sweet than I expected but coffee+milk tea combination was sweeter and better for me. What a cute cup!

Food was average and the service was non-existent. Place was also hard to find as the shop was not facing the main road. The food quality was not worth the effort taken to find the restaurant.

Chop
I had a All Day Meal Set. The portion was okay. The milk tea was good and the food was hot. The vermicelli was quite bland. Guess it’s good in a way that it didn’t have much MSG. The pork chop was a bit dry and had too much bicarbonate soda.

Had the baked rice chicken with Portuguese sauce. Was terrible. Sauce was nothing like Portuguese sauce I usually have. Chicken didn't look cooked. Cousins had spaghetti Bolognese. Looked nice but tasted sweet and worse than the jar sauces

I’m really happy they have finally opened another cafe in the CBD. They serve up classic yet simple HongKong food. I love their afternoon sets especially their deep fried fish fillet / pork chop sets. Their chips are so addictive! Cheese baked dishes are also really delicious.
It's OK, rice tasted like it was 5 days old, the beef brisket had plenty of meat in it but again the potato tasted like it had been reheated 3 times already. The custard French toast was nice. (Filling is like lai Wong)

So good , the portion were large. make me so full. the service were nice and quick. love it. make sure you try the milk tea . they are so great and full of flavour.
Service was good and food was served in a timely manner. The chicken in the baked rice lacked seasoning/flavour. The seafood curry was the best out of the 4 dishes.
The portions are huge for the price, and the food is so delicious! Their HK milktea is really authentic as well.

Had to search for this little gem hidden in Chinatown's district Melbourne. Roast duck and pork with ramen noodles. Delish
Loved the pineapple bun. Lightly toasted with a thick slab of butter inside - delicious! This is a good HK style cafe. More
