Been here a couple of times, the coffee is okay, and the food pretty good generally. But came here a couple of weekends ago and asked to sit outside which they thought was weird but let us go. We asked for the cushions on the chairs which was met with a bit of disdain. We were then given menus and told they would come back to take out or order. 15 minutes later and after watching several new customers come in, be seated and orders taken and coffee recieved we got up and left. They had clearly forgotten about us. In this day and age that isn't good enough especially when the cafe isn't busy. **edit** Came here with friends on the weekend and once againnthe service was poor. We were greeted by the manager when we walked in and was seated really quickly. From there it went downhill. From the drinks order being wrong, not just in the amount of drinks but the type of drinks. Ordered a latte but recieved a capacchino, and then was told "there isn't any difference" by the waitstaff (Jess). We then asked for a couple of minutes to order food. We had to wave her down to order 25 minutes later so we also ordered more drinks. So now we are sitting with fresh drinks and all the empty glasses and cups and the food arrives making our table packed to the rafters. Still not one empty glass was taken hence I had no room to eat my meal. As for my meal I ordered the chicken pesto focaccia with chips, the chips were almost cold but the focaccia was just a hot dog roll. Needless to say it was very underwhelming. My partner got poached eggs and one was poached perfectly the other was a hard boiled egg. While the food and service wasn't good the attitude of the server was appalling and you could tell she really didn't want to be there.

Ridiculously slow service. I had been there a few times previously a year or two ago and experienced very slow service. As a year or so had passed I gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them another go. I was very sceptical walking in when I noticed only one of the four other tables of people seated had any coffee or food. It took over 30 minutes to get our coffee and it turns out it should have gone to another couple who had ordered before us, they had to wait another 10 minutes. They had three front of house staff, who had no idea which table orders were to go to. It seemed like one of them had exclusive rights to make the coffees and unfortunately he was very slow and often started working the till or some other task. This left the coffee machine idle and tempers of waiting customers flaring. By the time we left, everyone was angry. The coffee was ok and the wait staff were friendly and apologetic, but this has been going on for some time so obviously management are oblivious or ignorant of the customer's experiences. Definitely not returning.

Had a few gluten free options but not confident they would manage cross contamination. They brought out coffees with small glutinous biscuit on saucer.

Came in 2:30 pm knowing they close at 3 pm , I ask are you still open for breakfast, the staff member said yes we close in half hour but she seems to be annoyed that we came in at that time … I place the order after 5 minutes to the same staff member who seems even more annoyed then before and with no manners at all … the breakfast came out 2:53 and at 2:58 they told us they were about to close , so my point is that first of all have some customer service skill Like at least a smile doesn’t hurt when you serving people , second if you can’t or don’t feel like serving people just tell them that breakfast is closed and you do t serve any more food .. don’t give them 5 minutes to eat and especially don’t have the attitude that you had .., if you get people’s money treat them fairly and don’t make them feel uncomfortable. We will never be back , awful experience

Sat in for lunch today, noted Cafe was notably busy and seeing to be understaffed as it has just been christmas public holidays. Ordered soup of day and some drinks . Soup was chicken and vegetable. When soup arrived, it had a notable sour smell and tasted very sour and bitter. Waited for staff to check in mid meal but they did not. I went up to counter to pay and to let them know of complaint re soup. The staff at kitchen then tasted soup and said it was up to standard and there was no offer of a refund or option to have anything different to eat was told to pay for soup . I did that but was unhappy with level of customer service. I have been going to this Cafe for at least 10 years I feel incredibly disappointed and will not be returning.

Normally I go to the reviews to read about the cafe I’m going to if I’ve not been, and I did read a few recent bad reviews about this cafe but decided to try for ourselves. We were greeted in a friendly manner and told we could take a seat anywhere we liked and we would be brought our menu’s which we were within 1 minute. We ordered our coffees straight away and then when they arrived we ordered some wedges. The wait staff were very friendly and none of the ladies made an effort to engage with us about our 1 year old who didn’t want to sit still in the pram and wanted to wonder about. She offered us a high chair and it helped alot. She was so lovely and friendly and we had a really nice experience all round. Would definitely come here again. We also enjoyed the wedges, they were nice and crispy.

I hadn't been to the Nook in about a year as when I had been there previously, my meals were cold and pretty bland. My son took me there today for lunch and I was quite apprehensive due to my previous experiences, however today I was very pleasantly surprised. The meal was hot and tasty and the service was very pleasant and prompt. I questioned the waitress about the change and she said that a new chef had started about 4 - 5 months ago and the management were focusing on providing excellent service. If you haven't been to the Nook in a while, it's definitely worth another try. It has one of the nicest ambiences in Sunbury, with a lovely cosy feel and now the food and service match the decor. Well done The Nook for stepping up !

I have just moved to sunbury and my family and I often go out for brunch so we wanted to try local cafes. Service was good. I ordered eggs Benedict with no spinach. We waited for awhile, which I don't mind when the food is good. First thing I saw when it came out was the spinach. I said I asked for no spinach. The girl did offer to take it back but my daughter had hers so she would have finished by the time I got mine again. The meal was nice but by the time I pulled the spinach out I lost a lot of sauce. Don't know if the waitress forgot or the chef forgot. It was disappointing and will try other cafes next time.

The Nook? More like the crook. How do you justify charging $6 for a 330ml bottle/can of Coke? You could go to Aldi & buy a 30 pack of 375ml cans for just over $20 and sell them at $3 a can and still make a profit. How can a drink of Coke cost more than a Cascade Premium Light beer ($4) or a Great Northern Midstrength beer ($5.60)? It’s not like the waiting staff actually have to make the beverage. All they have to do is go to the fridge, grab the bottle/can and open it.

If you want a cafe served by unsupervised untrained staff that have 0 engagement then this is your place. If you want a coffee so bad that you’d feel bad for the fish that would drink it when you pour it down the sink, then this is your place. Looks nice though, shame the tables are usually covered in crumbs when you sit down.

We got so nicely attended by a lovely red headed girl Ashleigh with the most contagious smile and the most proactive attitude! We got a fantastic breakfast, a delicious coffee thanks to her recommendation and I can’t seriously thank her enough on the great morning we had for our table thanks to her. Would definitely love to return again! Fantastic place for breakfast around the area

My partner and I had breakfast here yesterday with our 1 year old baby for the first time. Lovely staff who greeted us when entering and were so kind throughout. Food and coffee came out in good time and the wedges were delicious! A staff member also helped us with a baby high chair without us even asking for one. Will visit again.

Poor customer service We been regulars for years, since the change and employment of specific wait staff service has plummeted to an all time low. Forgetting to take orders offering other patrons more coffee, forgetting to add extra coffees to invoice list goes on. Unfortunately our last visit that was our go to place.

Sunday morning coffee and breakfast for me. A couple of poached eggs on toast with bacon and of course a long black coffee with an extra shot to kick start the day. Good ambience, great service and an excellent and generous breakfast. What more can you want. I think I will stay a while longer and perhaps indulge in another coffee.

Wouldn't recommend! Ignored most of the time. Food was tasteless and for what we got for breakfast was not even nearly close to the standards a $70+ bill should be! Gave it 2 stars because of the green smoothly (yum) and the laugh the kid gave us when he asked if we meant gluten free milk when asking for lactose free

It was ok. I wont be rushing back. The service was great, but in arrival we were told that, even though it was on the menu today there was NO soup of the day. It was Thursday.......really?! Also, we ordered 2 cappuccinos in mugs, 1 was only half full with the rest froth, the other was full, but weaker than a cup of tea.

Nice little cafe with good selection of deserts, jaffle pockets, which I would have liked to be bigger or maybe two. I’m still hungry and need to get something else. You can order chips with your jaffle for $3 extra. The staff are very nice and the cafe nicely maintained. There is even an open fireplace.

We had lunch in the outside dining area a table for five the waitress arranged two sun umbrellas for maximum shade from the sun. The food and service were superb all staff that encountered us were friendly and attentive.

The nook cafe have to say had very tasty elegant food but was a bit on the pricey side, hence why I gave it 3 stars otherwise I would have given it 5 stars as staff were very friendly and it had a great atmosphere. I recommend it for couples and anyone that's looking for an elegant meal out

Stopped by for a quick lunch break. Food was fast hot and heaps on the plate. Not to many people cause it was getting close to closing tme. Had large umbrellas set up beautifully outdoors. Vety clean friendly staff. Highly recommended

It used to be really good. The other day I ordered a smashed avo toast with mushrooms on it but it wasn't the best, sorry. Really rich and laden with butter... luckily I shared it (the 2 toasts) with mum, who struggled with one even!

Good coffee. Waited more than half hour for toast, others came later and received their meal, before I asked when my food was coming. Was told he would check, the waiter then proceeded to wander around, and did not check. I left!!

Went here for a milestone birthday of a friend... very noisy venue...finger food very average and not enough for the amount of guests. Didn't even serve tea and coffee for the non drinkers. Bar service poor

No vegan options at all, not one to bang on about veganism but a lot of places have adapted these days. And no baked beans? Really? Disappointed..... This use to be my favourite place to go for breakfast.

On some days food is quick and tasty and coffee is spot on - on the other days you wait 30 minutes for somebody to take your order - 13 tables, 4 waitresses, I think it is time to give up on waiting...

Staff friendly coffee ok ,ordered toasted muesli with blueberrys & Greek yogurt. Unfortunately the muesli was sickly sweet tasted syrupy like it came out of a box! Should of gone to spotted owl!

The brunch is excellent but the coffee is terrible. Get a coffee through maccas drive through before you go there for brunch. Also- can’t cook a poached egg but no one can these days.
