"The best vet experiences I've ever had"
I have been taking my animals here for several years and have always had great service and finally decided I should let other folks know about it. I'm not a computer person and this is the first review I've ever posted for any business; however, they more than deserve my "hunting and pecking" on this keyboard. ;) I recently took my baby (a 5 year old German rottweiler) in for a checkup and it was just such a wonderful experience. I will often gauge my veterinary experience on how comfortable you feel and whether or not you get the time and attention you deserve during your visit, and I'll have to say my expectations were definitely met and exceeded. They were very helpful and knowledgeable in educating me about my pet, specifically the importance of flea and heartworm control. Even information specific to my rottweiler, for example, I did not know about the short life expectancy of rott's and the potential issues with their hips as they get older. I tend to ask alot of questions and I have never been made to feel rushed. In today's world, this level of service and attention to detail is unfortunately becoming increasingly harder to find. I was referred by a good friend when I first started coming here several years back, and have since moved close to Castleton Square mall area, but driving the extra few miles is well worth it. I'm a strong believer that you don't should stick with a business when you continually have good service and I'll be going here as long as my furry friends are around! Like they say, "if its not broken, don't fix it..." It might be a extra few miles on my car, but its definitely not broke, so I'm surely not going to try and fix it!! Thanks for checking out what a fellow Hoosier had to say, and I hope you have a blessed day!!!
For nearly a year now I have been filling carprophen prescription for my dog by calling in prescription. During this time I asked, not once, if there any other versions of the carprophen my dog can have because, the pills are very hard to divide, they crumble. Today, after whole year I was told that I can order his Rx online and not only that but, I was told that you guys price match! A whole year! That is very poor customer service! In addition to that, I also found out that the generic carprophen that I buy from you guys is TWICE the cost than, buying ORIGINAL through your online pharmacy! TWICE! I understand the veterinarian industry is expensive but, I was referred to your business as the most gentle and understanding veterinarian in the whole Indianapolis! My dog has inoperable cancer, he is stuck living rest of his sweet life on carprophen just to go to the bathroom and yet, knowing all that, the entire veterinarian staff failed to educate me on how I can either price match his drug or get original from online cheaper. It is very sad to see and feel taken advantage off! Absolutely and very very sad! - I just looked up generic version of the carprophen and it is $0.33 per pill for the average person, not vet office, while this office charges $3.00 not sure what type of overhead this office has and how much staff is paid to count out 15 pills a month but, nearly 1000% profit per pill!
I’m very sad to write this review as we have been going to the paw patch place for the last 3 years but recently had to change. I understand they have had some turnover in staff which has caused them to become very disorganized although there has never been continuity of care there. You always see someone different who never knows your history and you have to repeat it each time. They have not been able to keep proper records and made errors with follow up and prescriptions. The prior vet was lovely but the remaining physician has poor bedside manner in my opinion which made for a more stressful visit. The process of getting our records transferred to a new vet has also been difficult. There have been delays and since their records are still handwritten the new vet was unable to understand much of the information. Prices have also gone way up as well, much more than inflation increases elsewhere. If your pet just has standard care needs for vaccines/check ups I expect you would be ok here while they get back on their feet but if you have a special needs pet like mine I do not recommend paw patch place for continued care.
I've gone to Paw Patch for 15 years now for three dogs and a cat. I have found their service to be thorough and responsive. The vets have common sense and regard for clients and their means and how they figure into a decision. I once took my dog for a second opinion when he was having problems with his neck. Paw Patch told me he had just sprained it when playing; the other vets gave me a much more dire diagnosis and sent me to a specialist who recommended an MRI, etc. which would have been well over $1000, which I didn't do fortunately. It turned out that the Paw Patch vets were correct and my dog was back to normal in a couple of days. They were appropriate and considerate in advising me from a path of the worst and most remote possibilities even though they informed me of all possibilities. I would have saved a lot of time and money if I had not overreacted and I gained even more respect for their good judgment. The facility is clean, neat and well-organized. The vets are professional and kind. I highly recommend them.
The best vet experiences I've ever had. If you go to their website, you'll see a lot of stuff about a "Fear Free" experience for your pets. I was pretty skeptical at first, but they take this really seriously and the experience is proof. My dog had previous vet notes that said she was great to be around except when needles were involved. The vets at PPP used so many distraction/reward techniques that Daisy got everything she needed with no fuss and hardly any reactions at all. Great hours for working people, great staff, and just a great vet office, especially in terms of cleanliness. Would highly recommend to anyone in the midtown area.
My Ruthie has been seeing Dr Dowden at Paw Patch Place since I got her! I was nervous (first time dog mom) about Ruthie ending up scared of the vet like so many dogs are, but it has never been an issue! They are great about distracting her during any shots, and I was SOOO much more comfortable having her spay procedure done here than at a low cost clinic knowing she’d receive excellent after care and lots of love from PP’s team. They’ve also been wonderful and patient with me every time I call with questions (which seems to be fairly often ). Can’t say enough good things about them!
Before you decide to be a dedicated patient, you should know that Paw Patch Place will turn you away on your dog’s dying day. We were patients for 2 years with both our dogs. When our old girl could no longer stand, we rushed to Paw Patch Place for help. We were there when the doors opened, but were turned away and told to call an emergency vet because the doctor was too busy. She couldn’t be bothered to even come out to talk to us. The only important vet visit is when your pet is in distress. Find a vet that understands prioritizing patients and has compassion.
Its hard to believe there are any other ratings other than 5 stars. Ive been going here about 3 years now. It would seem, after reading these less than 5 star reviews, that people are being cheap and petty as usual. Their low ratings were based on user errors and not the employees or practice itself. Its hard to deal with you people believe me im one of you. These animal lovers work hard and are literally the best in the fear free industry. I take all 7 of my animals here and highly recommend this vet. I want to thank you for taking care of my children.
Approximately Nov. 13, 2022 Thanks for scanning Luna for a microchip! The staff was very understanding and helpful, offering suggestions. And although she didn't have a chip, it's a happy ending!! I was able to take her back home until I gathered more info on her... And guess what? She's been adopted! Yay!! All things are better when your pet is microchipped!! A small expense saves oh-so-important-time these poor bebes don't have. DO YOU WANT YOUR BABY BACK IF IT GETS LOST? GET IT MICROCHIPPED. CHIPS SAVE LIVES.
We just had our first ever visit with the Paw Patch Place and I could not be happier or more impressed with the level of service we received. I would recommend this vet to anybody, especially if you have a pet with bigger feelings towards vet offices - they are so accommodating and kind; by the end of the appointment my dog was good buddies with the vet. They answered all my questions, and helped give me guidelines for some much needed doggy weight loss! You're in good hands here!
Wow. Just wow. The nurses and the veterinarian(Dr Taylor) went above and beyond to ensure my cat had the best first visit to a vet ever. They are all just the nicest folks here, and I highly recommend coming here for a stress free(or as stress free as possible) visit for your pet. They even give you a nice little goodie bag and a wipe with pheromones to calm down your kitty. Just top notch service overall. Will absolutely be taking my cat here as long as I'm in Indianapolis.
Talented and friendly staff who took great care of my dog. Like many pets, he HATED trips to the vet and occasionally got aggressive if something like a blood draw was necessary. But they always handled him with care and respect and made the experience as positive as possible. A few times I felt like the staff called for unnecessary tests and labs. I admit that's coming from a lay person's perspective, but "let's get a stool sample" seemed to be the outcome of many visits.
The staff, communication and care at Paw Patch are outstanding . We saw Dr. Woodlock and the nurse Kate. They both showed tenderness and understanding for our 15 year old dog ( the way that they touched her, talked to her, and concern in general). They also communicated well with my daughter and me. We interacted with other support staff who were very professional. The exam was thorough and the advice and meds prescribed were on target. We hightly recommend this practice.
I used to take my cat here and I liked them. But in the last few years priced have gone up and they are so pushy about testing. They also kept telling me my cats teeth were desperately needed cleaning and possible few extractions which would be close to $1K. I took her to another Vet today and confirmed mg cats teeth are fine. She’s an older cat I can’t risk putting her under anesthesia. Changing vets now. I don’t think they have my cats health as the main interest.
They are SO gentle and kind with Violet (our overly nervous cat). Every time I go in there, not only is it the ideal environment for our cat to feel as calm as possible, but, with the soothing music in each room, it's even relaxing for me as well Violet struggled with health problems when we first adopted her, and the Paw Patch Place has been with us every step of the way and now she's finally living her best life.
Went there knowing what was wrong before hand, is it standard Veterinary practice to try to push you to do unnecessary exams among other things? I think they like to prey on peoples weakness (because this is our pets and can do so easily) and use specific words so they can lure you in to thinking you need them all to upsell you and feed their bottom line. Would not recommend as they only care about the money.
To be honest this is my brother's vet not mine. However the other day marked the 2nd time I had been. I had to help my brother with the most horrendous experience any pet owner can face. The staff was nothing but supportive and made the process as easy as it could be. If you live anywhere near here consider using them they are a group with compassion and wrapped in professionalism. Thank you Paw Patch.
This is a very special vet clinic. All of the staff is specially trained to not only treat your pet's illnesses and provide preventative care, but they also take into account your pet's mental health regarding fear, anxiety, and stress. There are so many techniques they utilize to keep your pet calm and happy. They practice great medicine and can be trusted to keep their patients safe.
Took my puppy mini golden doodle to be groomed...She had some matting on her under belly and legs only. AND they shaved her completely. She looks terrible. AND I was charged 57.00 to shave a puppy. I could have done a better job at home. So disappointed. I saw my vet a few days later and they said they would never shave a dog this short unless the dog has had fleas. :(
The vet and techs are so helpful and patient. They have clear, practical advice to keep you, your dog, and their staff safe. They were so patient while I asked a million questions about my dog and his treatment. We had to sedate our dog for the first time to have a thorough checkup. They talked through the process and calmed our concerns about the process.
loved this place until the vet couldn't properly diagnose my cats weight loss--i spent a ton of money on testing before going elsewhere for a second opinion. turns out he just wasn't getting enough calories-- seems like something that should've been caught immediately. bummed, because I loved going here & have to drive much further now to the cats-only vet
I have to say, that The Paw Patch Place is one of the best veterinarian clinics I’ve been too. I was very nervous about having to take my Bunny. The staff and everyone there were friendly , and very welcoming. They were able to examine, and treat my bunny. The experience was very pleasant. I’d highly recommend anyone to take their pet for care.
My cats always seem happy for their visit (well, as happy as a traveling house cat is ever going to be). They let them wander and explore their own room and they can get treats. Overall, I'm happy with their service. I feel Dr. Lindsley is great, and I trust her fully with their care (and I am one of those 'my cats are my children' people).
We brought our dogs here last week. 2 of the 3 have had anxiety at the vet in the past, with one who would tend to get aggressive. Both of them had no problems here. The aggressive one didnt even flinch when betting vaccines which is huge. I give all credit to the staff who were very patient and gentle with our pups.
Very difficult and disorganized. Spent 10 minutes on phone to be told they can not escribe and were unwilling to call Rx to pharmacy. After just seeing the doc. Wanted me to order from their website. Or would need to come into office. Good luck with change in ownership, must be too busy for customer service
The actual service has never been poor, but their pharmacy prices are out of control. I've called them out on it before, but today I went in to find I was charged DOUBLE the price it's sold for at popular pet med places, like Chewy. I get it, my fault for not telling them to not fill it there.
We are so glad we found the Paw Patch Place! Our rescue dog is terrified of the vet, and the staff uses fear-free techniques in everything they do to make the visit easier for anxiety-prone dogs. By far the best vet experience we've ever had and we are recommending to all our friends!
I have multiple animals so I have seen all 3 doctors and each one is as good as the last! Very calm and knowledgable. Grace the nurse even gave me a handout she made about building your dogs confidence and it has done wonders for my dogs. Can't recommend this place enough!
They always take great care of and for my pups. Roo is very comfortable in nature, but she struggles in louder environments like cities and near lots of people. They gave me something to help her with that anxiety. It worked so far! Appreciate all you do for our pups.
I have a very aggressive Pitbull who has been banned from most veterinary clinics in this city. They handled him with care, and he did not even become aggressive once. I was very pleased with the service Dr Hack provided. She definitely knows how to handle animals!
We have two dogs (Chocolate Lab and Golden Retriever) we’ve been taking them to The Paw Patch Place since they were puppies. They love it here and have never been scared of shots or anything. They’ve been well taken care of, and we will always take them here!
I’ve loved taking my pets to Paw Patch Place. They take care of pets with great care and care about their mental and emotional well-being during vet visits which can be stressful. I’ve enjoyed every visit, call or email. I cannot recommend them enough.
I'm so thankful I found this veterinarian. They have been an absolute joy every time I have went and have made sure to make it at fear-free experience for my small kitten. Please go here for reasonable prices and amazing customer service and care.
We used The Paw Patch Place with out cars and really loved them...since their passing, we have moved further away and now ha e a dog.. we loved this place so much, we drive the distance for them to care for our current fur baby!
Best place ever. So sweet to my cats. Not one bad thing could ever be said about these ladies. They all truly care about your pet. Reasonable prices as well. Dallas and Houston love you all. Thank you again.
This is the only place I'll ever take my cats, they're super kind and have always worked with me on any it issues. When my kitten Ranger needed Surgery they made sure both he and I were comfortable.
Everyone here is amazing! They work up trust with your pet so that nothing they do is too anxiety inducing. Dr. Taylor recently did my dog's spay surgery and she was wonderful!! Highly recommend
They were very dishonest with me when I had a situation with a lost dog I was trying to help. They literally made the worst decision for the animal. I wish I never walked through their doors.
I have been going to Paw Patch Place for years and I wouldn't take my dog anywhere else. They are professional and polite and take time to care for each of the animals that come to them.
Love coming here. I have a mastiff, and they love on him like he is family. He always pushes his way in every appointment, no fear on him. Which shows a pleasant experience every time.
We love the staff at The Paw Patch Place! Every single employee is kind and welcoming. The care team is so patient with our dogs and truly practices and embodies a fear free clinic!
You can do better- the doctor was weird and rude while the staff seemed unhappy. Overall I felt as if they cared more about how much money they were getting over everything else.
This place is clean. They are friendly. The front desk staff is always smiles the doctors are awesome. The techs. can always. Answer your questions. We love this place !!!!!!
Saved my cat's life when he went into diabetic shock. They got him stable and connected us with an animal hospital quickly. They've been great with checkups ever since.
Our 2 cats don't like to go the Vet. They made both of comfortable, even when getting there yearly shots. But our Husky puppy knows he gets treats & lots of petting.
My dog loves his visits at The Paw Patch Place! Truly is a fear-free clinic. I can just tell that everyone on staff wholeheartedly wants to help your pet.
These folks are like family and do a wonderful job taking care of my family. From care to my beloved old dog to my puppy, the Paw Patch Place is great!
Everyone there is kind and professional. They don't rush the process if your pet is uncomfortable. All my pets come here for their veterinary needs.
They did a great job with my cat that hasn't been to the vet in a very long time. The staff was knowledgeable, friendly, and very good with Kitters.
They are very sweet to our fur babies and don't pressure us to do things that may not be necessary, though they always provide all options.
One of the best values in vets I have found. My dog is only afraid of the exam tables due to the noise they make when being folded down.
I love the Paw Patch Place. I have a senior basset hound that is bit challenging. They always go above and beyond to accommodate her.
Very nice and professional staff. My cat was being a little stinker but the ladies there are all pro's. They know what they're doing
We’ve always had a very positive experience here. The docs are extremely kind and patient and the pricing is really reasonable.
I have very timid pups and Paw Patch Place is always so kind and caring to them. Really appreciate the extra effort they make.
Excellent place and great service. Staff went over my expectations and I felt really welcomed. A little expensive, but worthy.
Dr. Dowden and Dr. Woodlock are amazing! I wouldn’t take my dog anywhere else. They are very caring, kind, and compassionate.
We just switched to this vet and our experience has been nothing but great. Dr Dowden has taken great care of our two dogs.
Dr. Penny Dowden is the kindest vet i have ever known. She has taken care of all my animals, i was sad when i moved away!
It is a "no fear" clinic. They do a wonderful job with our cat. very caring and very thorough. I highly recommend them.
I know these folks give the best possible care to my pets. Onsite grooming is a bonus and Michaela is wonderful!
I take all 3 of my dogs here, I love the fact its a Fear Free clinic. Everyone that works here is fantastic.
They accommodated a later appointment for Buddy and took into consideration his anxiety with other animals.
Fear free and very accommodating. We have been going here for many years and it’s been a great experience.
They are efficient although just so be prepared to wait. They keep you informed throughout the process
The Doctors and the staff are very intelligent, helpful and care a great deal about your pets.
