This place is fantastic! We recently took our family in the camper for a weekend getaway. The pads and hook-ups are super nice. We booked a pull-thru site but they also have back-in sites. The also have a propane filling station. The pool is super spacious and very well maintained. They have nice covered cabanas and plenty of seating and a hot tub. While we were there they did a Dive-In movie night and our kiddos really enjoyed that! The have plenty of outdoor games and seating areas. The Putt Putt Golf was a favorite of my little one. They have the garden lights strung around it for a round of night golfing. There is a large chess/checkers board by the club house, which is very nice. You can rent kayaks and golf carts. There is a large jump pad that my kids just loved. They plan activities for the kiddos and family. My kids had fun participating in "Water Wars" (water balloon fight) and the obstacle course set up by the resort. Bring your bikes to ride around the grounds. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The grounds and all the facilities are well kept and clean. The fishing pier and boardwalk are great and well lit with lights at night. If you don't have a camper you can rent a tiny house, covered wagon, a retro camper, glamping tents or bring your own tent to camp. The location is great. Just a few minutes from all major grocery stores and gas stations in case you forgot something. There is a boat launch just next to the resort there for those looking to check out Lake Houston. We will most definitely be going back!

Maybe I’m a bit overly excited because this is a new Adventure for me but this place is really cool for a family fun trip. There is a Clubhouse where you can hang out and chill, also staff on site to answer questions, check you in and fix stuff if it’s not working properly. Which came in handy for us! There is a pool, basketball, mini golf, jumping pad, mini playground, fire pits, a lake with kayaks at an additional cost. You can bring your own tent (about $40 for a grassy lot) or be adventurous and try a few other options! I’m more of a “Glamper” than a Camper! LOL The bell tents are like large Tepees with a BED! There are cute little “Tiny” Houses Some are two stories. Some have a little porch to sit out on. All with a kitchen, dining area, bunk beds, separate bedroom, TVs, and sofa Sleeps 6-8. That’s what our family chose. It’s Spring Break so There are activities planned for the kids as well! Sand Art, Foam Party, Water wars, Water balloon Toss etc. And happy hour at 6pm!! We plan to enjoy the activities and barbecue later. Inviting a friend to join us for the $5 additional parking pass or $15 for a day pass if they wanna get in the pool and do any of the other amenities. Not bad price wise! So come on down and sit by the Fire
The Retreat is a great place to stay for able bodied campers. They have nice amenities and a friendly atmosphere. I docked it one star because the accessibility for my husband was a hit and miss. The ramp was good for going up but steep and slippery when going down in the rain. We were thankful he had an electric chair or I would have been struggling to get him up and down the ramp. The bathroom had good grab bars and a bench in the shower but no hand held shower which means you get drowned while sitting on the bench. The bed and room arrangement was a nightmare. There was no box springs so the mattress collapsed to the frame when sitting on the side and I was unable to get his wheelchair next to the bed so I had to lift it over the bed to get it near enough for a safe transfer. He also didn't have access to the amenities. I did not see a lift for the pool and there was not a sidewalk leading to the fishing pier. It was still a great place to stay but want those with disabilities to be prepared for the challenges. Edit: The staff were very responsive to this review and offered a discount. I want to make it clear that this is a great place to stay. Just still a challenge for the disabled at this point.

I visited The Retreat over the weekend with my 2 pets. It took a little over an hour to reach from downtown Houston. The location is beautiful on the shore of Lake Houston. The resort is still developing so I could not use some of the amenities. But the staff were very friendly and made sure I was comfortable. They are super pet friendly and visited with my cat and dog. I rented a cottage an dit is a nice little cozy place. The kitchen is fully stocked with utensils, silverware and crockery. There is full size refrigerator as well as coffee maker. You only need to buy stuff to make food. The closest grocery store is 30 mins away. But food delivery services are able to come to the location. The place was clean, ventilated and safe. I only wish there was some sort of cleaning spray just to wipe down surface and some basic toiletries or at least hand soap in bathroom. The club house hosts activities on Saturday. The boardwalk is beautiful. I really enjoyed my stay and cannot wait to come back once they have all amenities up and running

Came for my birthday weekend getaway, just 2 of us for a relaxing time away from the "real world". We stayed in the "Luxury Cabin" No real great views or nature-esque things to enjoy, but not bad for being so close to Houston. I'm giving 3 stars because there is just not much of a difference than staying at a hotel except no breakfast and they have an extended cleaning list for check out by 10AM, oh and more expensive. Waking up Sunday to rush out after vaccuming, mopping, taking the trash to the dumpster, a lot to expect for your guests to do when they pay so much. Even Airbnb doesnt do that... They will charge extra if you don't clean and if it takes you too long, expect to be charged for each hour you are late to check out. 10AM is just way to early especially if we have to do the cleaning for your next guest. We also took a look at the cabin that sleeps up to 8 (Dallas cabin), and we only counted bed space for 6 so expect 2 of you ppl to be on the floor. We won't be coming back bc we have had much better stays at a hotel and Air bnb for less $$. Maybe bringing your own RV is the way to go?
Jeanie was wonderful about communicating with me from the start of my reservations, checking in, and throughout my family’s month long stay. She was just a sweetheart and made our stay feel much more welcomed. The resort is basically brand new and still under construction. We had an RV site and it was leveled and hook ups were easily accessible. The amenities were great! We had access to the pool and hot tub so when the weather was nicer, we were there! The kids loved the jump pad. It was one of their highlights and a great work out for anyone who partakes. There’s a small playground for the kiddos which I felt was a little small given that there is so much space available but there are so many other activities to choose from. There’s a checker/chess table, which I LOVE! I think every park should have one. There’s a group fire pit, a mini golf area, corn hole, etc. Just A LOT! There’s a lovely boardwalk to walk to and fish from. When we come back through Houston again, we’ll definitely be staying here. Thank you!
We booked our stay online. Upon checking in we were given our site # along with a map of how to get to our site. Upon arriving at our site there were multiple vehicles parked in our site. We called the office and notified them and the vehicles were removed. We have a 43ft camper and it took a while to get into our site as the width of the road is tight to maneuver a longer trailer. We had just unhooked from our vehicle and ready to hook up water when an employee came and told us we had to move that we were given the wrong check-in packet. We dont believe that story as the packet had our name and site # all over it. If you are reading this you understand how frustrating it is to re hook up and move to another tight spot. That site was littered with trash!! We have been traveling for 2 1/2 years and have never left a review for a camp ground but felt people should know what to expect at this campground.
We booked a primitive tent site. We were the only ones with a tent this weekend. The property was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was very friendly and had fun activities planned for my kids. My kids loved that there was a playground and multiple games for them to do. The only downside is that it is a very noisy property. The resort is right near a busy road and we could hear cars zipping by all night long. Also, even though quiet hours are 11pm-7am, there were many people walking the pier, and being loud between 2-3am. This was right near our tent which continually woke up our kids. We decided to leave early and not stay the second night. If you are looking for a camping site that is a little more peaceful at night, this may not be the place for you. Or I would consider renting one of their cabins. Overall, we had a fun time but will most likely not be renting a primitive tent site again.
We had such a great time in our 8 person Cabin! Loved how close everything was in proximity to our cabin! The staff was SO NICE!! We had an employee give us the Sponge she bought for her trailer that weekend, since we didn’t love the one that came with the house! Speaking of that, if you plan to stay I recommend bringing a sponge, disinfectant wipes, and a small box fan. The sponge that came with the cabin was not great for the dishes you will have to do through the weekend. There wasn’t any cleaning products provided other than a small hand soap bar, and a small dish soap so I recommend some type of wipe for cleaning counter tops, stove top, etc. In the 8 Sleeper cabin, the loft was very stale and it would get warm up there. A small fan would have helped a lot! I would stay again!!!
Management is horrible! I paid to reserve a premium spot, and paid extra to stay in a premium spot with a view of the lake, when the park was basically empty. But the real issue is they park management started unloading trucks in front of my RV for 6 hrs on the 2nd day and on the 3rd at 730AM started unloading again for 2 hrs. Ya great view and extremely quit location. I complained on the 1st of work, and management was like "OH that's sad, too bad, we have work to do!" Pretty heartless at the fact they could have a done all that work a few hundred feet away and not in front of my view, plus starting up a 730AM, with the backup alarm going off and on for 2 hrs. Oh ya bathrooms flood easily from the showers so I get in early before the flood!

This resort is just a short drive from my home, but offers so many amenities and options to stay. If course, you can bring your rv and stay in any of the rv spots. If you don't have your own rv, they offer the following options: Covered wagons Retro RVs Cabins Safari tents Bell tents Spaces to pitch your own tent and enjoy all the activities from shuffleboard, ladder toss! Corn hole, pickle ball, jump pad, pool, hot tub, gym, clubhouse and more. They even have a bath park for those fur babies. This is not my first stay and will not be my last. And the staff is friendly and helpful!

Stayed in the covered wagons and WOW were they amazing and the staff and events they had were great! My only complaints were the Saturday night got a little crazy until the wee hours in the morning despite "quite hours" from 11pm-7am, wasn't exactly family friendly. Lol. The other thing was there are only two bathrooms near the wagons and they stayed full and without toilet paper much of the time. Despite those two things our stay was amazing and the other night was nice and peaceful in the evenings. I would highly recommend this place to a friend for a quick, unique getaway close to home.

Dear fellow RV families. This is the most outrageous and over priced and over talked establishment i ever stayed at. They have literally the most hateful and rude employees I’ve ever experienced in my life. With the most outrageous attitudes and worst customer service. They literally talk to kids like slaves and dogs. They treat adults like they are trash and dumb. I’ve never experienced a place so rude and just focused on money and not the actual experience involved in rving and the families it’s ridiculous. If i could give them a -5 stars i would. Ask any long term staying families. They’re a great to short term and weekenders. But they treat long term like trash.
My Wife and I are full time RV living, and this is the place we stay anytime we’re back in Texas. We’ve visited, work-camped, as well as managed other RV parks all over the country and we can definitely attest to The Retreat being a very well run, and nicely priced RV park that can compete with many others, not only in Texas, but Nationwide. Well organized, always clean, well maintained landscaping, helpful and friendly staff, and so many amenities. We’ll certainly continue to return here.

The best bathroom and showers of any park I’ve been to. Walking distance to all activities and fishing. My only complaints are is they rent golf carts but only have a few to rent. Also, there are no trees by any rv spots, the rv park is like a parking lot for rvs. Lastly, they don’t enforce quiet time even though its posted that there is one. A loud party gathered under the pavilion that went on until at least 3 am with loud music. I don’t even know if staff was on the premises to warn the party. If they were, the party didn’t seem to bother them. All in all, we had a good 2022 Easter weekend there.
First of all the pool was beautiful, clear water, I'm still here at this very moment, I stayed in a wagon, also very beautiful, but there are tents and RV areas, cabins, and also tiny homes, there's also many games. You get a very clear view of nature which makes the trip way better, a river stream which has beautiful plants, let's all agree that nature is just a beautiful place, I socialized with some kids and played some games with them, they had a lot of fun! Looking for a camping site but can't really bring the fun to the trip (if that even makes sense) I like totally recommend this place!
This was my second time staying here. The first was when they first opened a year ago and it has completely went downhill. We payed for a cabana by the pool only to realize that there was no monitoring and other guest used them for free with no staff interactions. The bed frame in our cabin was broken and no one came to repair or replace during our stay. Our neighbors found bed bugs in there room. There are other better options.

We only stayed one night. Wished it had been longer. We stayed in one of the Covered Wagons with great AC. No bathroom in those but they're 2 located nearby, with showers. The bathrooms are also extremely clean and kept clean throughout the day. The Wagons have bunk beds, King Sized bed, small fridge, microwave and table. Our Grandson said he loved staying in the covered wagon and so did my wife and I. What a unique experience. Next time we are thinking about renting one of the Safari tents or Retro Trailers. There are many rental options here. I highly recommend this place.
I attended a full day's Baby Shower/Birthday Party at The Retreat RV Resort and had a really good time. Arrangements were easy to make and the staff followed through with great care and attention. Having the large A/C comfy room inside, the facility's pool and jumper activity helped us power through the hot weather. Kiddos and Adults were happily engaged the whole time. It helped give our family a really good opportunity for connection. My Thanks go out to all staff. - Roni

The place was great, but the events hosted were awful. Not just my kids, but most of the teen audience did not get to participate in the easter egg hunt because they decided to give all the eggs to the younger ones. Im sure they had time to plan out the egg hunt to make it equal for all, and they didn’t even compensate nor alert everyone properly. I was also here last year, and the way they planned out everything was much better than this years egg hunt.

We had an amazing experience!! The staff was amazing and my kiddos had a blast!! Every staff member was attentive and responsive at all times. The activities and crafts scheduled were eagerly anticipated by our kids. The buildout, layout, quality of materials exceeded our expectations even though things were still being built. We enjoyed having many types of activities available such as kayaks, fishing, playground, space for kids to bike, etc… We can’t wait to go back when it’s all finished!!
Called 3 different times about a day pass and Shay was so helpful and friendly each time( I have ADHD and kept forgetting questions) We did come for a day pass and scope out sights as we want to bring the rv here! Beautifully, clean kept grounds and wonderful service!

Family first company. To keep it brief. My daughter sustained an injury (at no fault of the company) during our stay They made it easy for us to leave our things to take care of her. When I returned later to collect my things the first thing I heard was "how is she doing". This place looks family friendly when you walk on the premise and it's family first for the staff as well. They have won our future business for sure. Excellent service! They have their priorities straight here!
The family loved it! We stayed in a cottage a few nights. This resort has all the amenities you can think of. We were impressed with everything and the professional staff. Wonderful experience for the kids, they especially enjoyed the cottage and pool. My wife went out for a drive and got stuck in mud. I called the front desk and within 15 minutes they picked her up and facilitated in pulling our SUV out of the mud in 30 minutes. Talk about going above and beyond. Thank you!
My family and I went out for a quick weekend getaway and the Retreat definitely didn’t disappoint! Cassidy runs a pristine resort and is the most kind and accommodating host. The cabins are spectacular and roomy with real mattresses comparable to something I’d buy for home. The pool is comfortable with cabanas and plenty of shaded options to cool off. But as a toddler mom, the family style bath house was probably my favorite amenity! We will definitely be staying again soon!
We spent a few nights in the covered wagons there with my family. It was fantastic. They're secluded enough to feel like you're camping, and the nearby bathrooms were always clean. Even though it rained almost our whole stay, we still really enjoyed our trip. The wagon was comfortable, as described, and clean. AC/heat worked great. Staff was friendly and attentive.

Just came back from our little vacay for my mothers birthday. I would recommend to EVERYONE!!! Our Cabin was nice and clean... just perfect. Amenities were very clean, atmosphere was great. They also sale food for a good price. My husband and I enjoyed a nice walk at night once our kids went to sleep. Thank you guys we will be coming back. Also there community games my daughters loved the pretzel necklace.
Enjoyed a Memorial Day weekend at the Retreat with our camper. The camping spots were very nice, and enjoyed having a concrete pad instead of the gravel spots you typically find. Even though the place is still under construction, they had a ton of activities that kept my 3 kiddos very busy the entire time. We really enjoyed the kayaking and mini golf. Look forward to going back when it is all done too!
We are currently staying at The Retreat. This place is amazing and the staff is awesome. We evacuated here from IDA and couldn’t be happier with our choice. We will come back to actually vacation here because words cannot describe the hospitality we have received. The is a new resort so please if your looking for a great place to come enjoy the camping life with your family give the retreat a try!!!
My family visited over the Easter weekend, it was about 40 of us. Some of us rented Cabins, some in Rv,s but all were happy and pleased! Appreciated the staff kind smiles and patience. Would only ask for more lighting around dog park and under trees... I know you guys are still building there so can you add a small basketball court for the bored teens... But still 5 stars for sure!!
The Retreat RV & Camping Resort in Huffman TX is a fantastic RV park with clean and spacious sites, friendly staff, and excellent amenities. We rented a camper and met up with some friends for the weekend. Pull through camp sites on smooth flat concrete made parking a breeze. There were activities for the kids CONSTANTLY! My 11 year old had the time of her life. My husband and I even participated in a kayak race. Wonderful place and great people. We will definitely be back when it’s finished.

Brand new place with very nice grounds. My family and I enjoyed our weekend visit. The spots seem large and they are all paved with a picnic table. You can rent golf carts, kayaks and jetski. There are also other free activities and outdoor games that we enjoyed. All the staff were very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend the Retreat!
We've stayed here twice. Very clean, nice RV park, good internet, beautiful pool, tents, wagons, and retro rvs for rent, dog park, places for the kids to play, right on Lake Houston. Definitely recommend!
Playground
Nice playground
Dog-friendliness
Very nice dog park
Picnic area
Big covered area with tables and grills
My wife and I stayed three days and nights. It is a week thought out Resort. The only issues was the TV cable did not come in clear. The main issued was there was a crew building building more structures by the lake. They were using bad language and played music too loud. Besides that we really enjoyed our stay and we will be going back.
We took a day trip here and had a blast! The resort is super clean. We rented kayaks, swam, had a picnic, fished, swam some more, and played games. The resort was super clean. There were plenty of clean bathrooms. Our family of six spent the afternoon/evening for $40. Can’t wait to make overnight reservations and stay longer next time!
Love the place for families and pets. Staff was wonderful. AC works but not like homes so recommend to bring a fan.... Pet Friendly.. MUST TRY the Frozen Drinks (Adult Capri Sun). Happy Glamping

You will love the ReTreat! We were in our RV and the space is very large and had a picnic table and a grill. There are so many amenties for kids and adults. If you dont have an RV they have cabins, tents, glampping tents and covered wagons. All will AC. The pool and bath house are great. The place is super clean! You will love it!
Ashley, a manager or employee, I'm not sure, made my families stay here horrible. we will not return and we will actively let all of our local friends know how bad our experience was. We were treated without dignity or respect. Terrible customer service, very rude, I honestly can not believe how bad our stay was. It was unreal.
We did a little staycation in a cabin at The Retreat RV & Camping Resort over New Years. The property and amenities are stellar. The staff is great! They didn’t have extra towels if we were to have needed them and the dog park could use some lighting at night. We will definitely be back! Stellar place! Keep up the good work!

We absolutely love it here!!! Staff is so friendly and helpful. We stayed in the cabins and they are conveniently located across from the massive pool and hot tub area and the outdoor games! Our cabin was super nice very spacious and was stocked with everything you would need. We didn't want to leave!!!!!
My family had a wonderful time at the resort. Jeanie has been so helpful and friendly to us from the beginning to end. Although many things are still under construction but there are some kids/adults activities to keep everyone entertained. Looking forward to come back to visit again next year!
Very clean & nice Rv & camping resort. There is fishing ,mini golf, swimming pool ( almost done with it,) hot tub .It's fairly new place. There are covered wagons you can stay in also small cabins and you can put up your own tent. There are rentable golf carts Check out there website
We had a great time for Halloween weekend! Our family of 20 stayed at 4 different sites and enjoyed the trick or treating, s’mores, and all the activities for littles. Wish there would’ve been more people to trick or treat, but we will definitely be back. Staff was kind and helpful.
This place is awesome!!!! Everything was so nice and the staff is so inviting and helpful! Got to chat with Natalie during our visit and she is such a delight! I don’t think I saw her not smiling our whole trip!!! Plenty of amenities for the whole fam! Definitely will be returning!
I went here for a Christmas party. The building was beautiful. There was a room to set up the buffet and a large open space to set up tables and chairs. There was also a fire in the fireplace. It was dark outside, but what I could see of the RV park was clean and very nice.
Everything was beautiful, we stayed in the Dallas cottage I really enjoyed the tiny house style cottage very clean and beautiful the kids enjoyed the activities and we will definitely be coming back. I suggest maybe getting a basketball court and bow and arrow shooting.
We went with a large group, and everyone had a great time! The facilities were pristine, lots of fun activities to do and the staff were friendly. I highly recommend this for glamping, RVs or even tent camping. They have covered wagons you can stay in too. Sooooo fun!
My family and I had a great time at The Retreat! They have so many things to do and I love how everything is new and in great condition. My kids already want to go back next week! We will be back soon!

Whole place has gone downhill. Manager seems incompetent, front desk girl is rude and also incompetent. It's really no wonder why they've lost so much business. Hiring potheads and people who drink on the job really isn't the best way to run a business.

Amazing RV resort! One of the nicest Iv been to. Clean, organized, lots to do, great amenities. Staff was awesome! I have nothing but good things to say about this place. I can only recommend them and I can say we will be back.
We rented half of the clubhouse for a bridal shower. The space was perfect, very modern and the staff was amazing! Shea was wonderful and would check in periodically to make sure we had everything we need. She was a huge help!
Simply amazing ! So many family fun filled activities! Everyone was so nice & accommodating if we had any questions . The speaker was a bit low for the movie but it was super nice . My children loved the experience.
