Context- Us two mates, for brunch coffees, HCT toasties. I'm an ex-chef of 23+ yrs exp'. It was fairly cold weather, 10:30am, threatening rain. I don't mind cold. I chose our table outside. Coffee was excellent. We both had two cups each, we each had two different makes of coffee. Toasties were as excellent as toasties can be. Great cob loaf, buttered on the outside as well (a must before press toasting a toastie ), great quality ingredients, & a slightly unusual ingredient in Australia - Jack Cheese. That very yellow, cheesy flavoured cheese that seppo's love to use in burgers. A good quality Jack Cheese though. Very tasty toastie. And not expensive prices. Only minus was having to chase up table service a little bit. But relax people, we were the only ones outside, they were busier inside. Didn't take much to get attention for prompt, fast & quality service. Thanks Tin Roof Cafe.

Received horrendous customer service today at Tinroof. My partner and I are regulars but we won’t be returning after the service we experienced. We were seated by a waitress as soon as we walked in, after that she ignored us for approximately 10-15 minutes. She looked at us multiple times making eye contact with us while giving other customers menus. There were 3 waitstaff on in total and the restaurant had half its tables free. It really wasn’t that busy, it’s almost as if she did it on purpose. This behaviour is just appalling. We ended up walking out and going to another restaurant instead. That same waitress even turned around as we were walking out and didn’t do anything.

TLDR: Great atmosphere, great service, stupefying food Minimalistic Rustic design, low maintenance and functional with a gorgeous wood fire pizza oven blazing in the back. Chill house in the background made it a very relaxing environment. Amazingly friendly staff, very approachable and open about they enjoyed most on the menu. Was immediately put at ease by their relaxed charm. Easy dish like bruechetta was beautifully presented and tasted of intense passion for food. The balsamic vinegar is sharp and divine, perfectly balanced flavour. I couldn't hold back from eating the first slice before photos and review. Octopus salad was full of life and flavour. Softest feta I ever had in my life. Only complaint is it was a lathered in a variety of dressing, making it soggy at the bottom.

Recommended by a friend upon our first visit to Melbourne. Indeed, food was amazing and accommodated as per the dietary requirement. However, I would like to advise the manager or whoever this guy with French beard works here about his arrogant and rude sarcasm. Sorry, that's not how you gonna make customers. Show some respect and try to leave your unwanted attitude at home. Never coming back!

The Tin Roof is an iconic place here in Niddrie, and I hadn't been there in years. Unfortunately, I have to say, that although the food was good, the coffee just wasn't up to scratch considering the cafe is in a popular place competing with many others. I also got the impression that the waiter did not want to be there. Maybe he was having a bad day, or maybe he's just been there for too long. But hospitality is a tough gig these days, especially coming out of severe lockdowns. Maybe we'll have better luck next time.

Saw it on google maps mistakening it for the tin roof caf in ballarat, have to say both cafes are good but this one takes the cake slightly. Drove the hour and 10 mins to come here today and was happy, had vegie burger and chips plus my trusty flat whites all was good will be back

Atmosphere excellentl,service is good with a nice area to sit outside the side, the staff are friendly, and they don't push customers out the door. Nice place, but we didn't enjoy the food. Parking is not easy to find close by, and disable access is OK, but ladies' toilets poor access for elderly or disabled.

This place never seems to fail, the food is always quick and delicious. We often go for weekend lunch or dinner and always has greatand service. Would definitely recommend.

Dined in at Tin roof with a party of 8. The food was very average, if they can't get a Parma right then the other dishes on the menu don't stand a chance. Nobody in our party were impressed by the various dishes ordered. The drinks are undersized and overpriced .We won't be returning or recommending.

Everything was stellar! Dined in on 2/9/22 and was blown away, not only with the food - which was some of the best I've had from any restaurant I've been to - but the waitresses that served us were incredibly kind, thoughtful and patient with my rowdy family. Would absolutely love to visit again.

Came here for Mother’s Day with my family and I was appalled by the presentation/taste of the food as well as the service by the staff. I was told that I couldn’t order what I wanted because you were short with time…. The plates were empty when they came out. 0 value for money. Could’ve made a better breakfast at home. Will not be coming back here again.

Took my two daughters there recently. I had the chicken Caesar salad which was really nice, but my kids both had the pancakes and they were inedible. Extremely chewy, seemed like they'd been reheated in the microwave. My kids never turn their noses up at something sweet but literally neither of them could eat more than a bite of them. Very disappointing

Went there last Saturday night with the family after obviously a long time in lockdown. Food and service absolutely amazing. Staff and floor managers were constantly coming around to check on us. If I could give it 6 stars I would. Restaurant makeover looks trendy. P.S. calamari is something incredible. Must go. Great atmosphere.

One of the best cappucinos I ever had. The creme brulee was perfect and so was the crepe. They had some unique looking cookies on display. The kids working there are extremely polite and come to check on you as though you are in a 5 star restaurant. Food always looks good especially the seafood platter and wood fired pizzas.

Busy little cafe with excellent pizza and desserts beautifully presented. Fast and friendly service. Only recommendation would be different size pizzas available and could do with a little more atmosphere but otherwise great little place.

We had the Eggplant Parma and Bruschetta, both were really flavoursome. But the Eggplant parma was hands down the best I've ever had, it melted in the mouth and was rich and decadent. I also had a soy latte which was lovely, the milk was perfect and thankfully not burnt... it's really easy to stuff up soy milk.

Ordered the Parma, chicken tasted reheated and old, had a old taste about it like the oven it was grilled in needs a clean. I actually couldn’t eat it and had to throw it out. Ask where do you get off charging 6 dollars for a can of drink? There was no confirmation online of the size and it wasn’t even cold.

Great little cafe. Friendly and helpful staff and food was great. Been there three times. Today, I only had a coffee and my husband a dessert. The guy who served us bought an extra plate and cutlery in case I wanted to share, we didn’t even have to ask. Congratulations, we will be back.

Ordered the hot cakes with fresh fruit and bacon. Hot cakes where slightly burnt and so dense that I couldn't finish them. When I told the owner his reply was that's strange they get ordered a lot. Paid full price which I don't mind except I walked away hungry. Won't be coming back.

Dined here with my parents and there was something on the menu that suited everyone! The calamari was very tasty and soft and the chips were cooked to perfection. Great coffee! Friendly and grateful staff - we will definitely return!

It has been a long time since we have had such an amazing feed with impeccable service! Food was served quickly, everyone enjoyed their meals and the wait staff were very attentive and couldn't do enough for our family! Very impressed and we will be back!!

We had a pizza and a Caprese salad. Good service and nice atmosphere. The pizza was cooked just right. Salad had good presentation. However none of the ingredients were particularly premium or special and I would like to see a bit more attention to detail.

A lovely lunch! Meat balls and spaghetti.. garlic and cheese Focaccia. The pasta was perfect. The wood fired pizza oven was not only lovely to watch but cooked the Focaccia to perfection. We will be back. My new favourite pizza place in Niddrie!!

I ordered a pizza and a salad. Both of them were ok only. I was missing some salt in the pizza dough. The tomato sauce had almost no taste. In my mind they use ingredients of low quality. Nevertheless for a quick bite when hungry it‘s still ok.

Came in after an appointment, too early for dinner, so bought some desserts and coffees… The desserts were to die for, and the presentation was very sophisticated and absolutely gorgeous.

Wow, what a welcome update for my favorite place for no fuss delicious brekky and dinner! I recommend coming and checking the new digs! Did I mention they got a 3-D printer for coffee and espresso martinis.

Staff were friendly and the service was timely. Had a nice focaccia that had potato, mozzarella and rosemary. Kids loved their nuggets and chips and the coffee was great. Certainly recommend going there.

Friendly staff but food quality was lacking, found my Parma to be very soggy from the sauce they used, and received it in 2 pieces which highlights poor choice of meat cut.

The best vegetarian pizza. Stands out from others as it has marinated vegetables on a wood fire base. So tasty.
