1st time visitor, on Thursday for the half-price burgers. Nice place. Clean and friendly staff. Waiters just take a little extra time to tend to the table each time. But I guess they're just trying to let you have a good time without "disturbing" the time you have with the people there . Doesn't give off the vibe of being a sports bar, which is nice. Bacon and avo burger was really nice in taste. The sauce was delicious, and they were very gracious with the amount of avo and bacon they put on . Portion over all just a tad too small - maybe add a few more fries or a few more onion rings. I usually never finish a burger and sides, but this time, I was able to finish everything and a 500ml beer I will definitely visit again

Disappointed with recent visit. We chose Tipples for Sunday pub lunch. Very excited because we haven't been there in over 2 years. On arrival, no one was there to greet us at the door. Not to worry, walked through into the bar section where there seem to be a staff meeting going on. After a few awkward seconds, we looking at them and them looking at us, one waiter/cleaner/barman/car attended grabbed a menu and asked us where we would like to be seeted. No introduction. We didn't worry and said anywhere. The attendant then said she'll be back to take our order. We sat there waiting for 15 minutes before another attendant came to us. In this time I changed my mind 3 times on what to order. We decided to leave... Menu wasn't that great for a Sunday lunch and not what we were looking for. The deal breaker was the waiting on service. First impression

I would like to express my gratitude towards Chevonne for her loyalty and passion towards customer service within this industry! I forgot my Bike and House keys at Tipples on the 5th of June and the assistance I received from Chevonne with regards to retrieving my keys was just so efficient, professional and effortless! Chevonne stayed in contact with me the entire time on Whatsapp and I felt absolutely comfortable and confident that she would be able to get my keys back to me via the Uber Pick Up that I had arranged. I was kept updated as soon as my keys were collected all the way until my keys were delivered back to me into my hands. Chevonne is an absolute asset to this company and she has so much potential to be tapped into! What a beaut!

We live right across the place. It was our go to place for a drink and some food. At one stage we were there 3 times a week. After loosing our food bill and ignoring our table. We didnt return for a month. Today we went back to give them a second chance. Our food bill was again lost. We were asked for our keys at the table. First time in my life. They clearly have people walking out often. Sad to say. This as this last. Spare your money and your time. As it will be wasted at this venue. Very excited for the next place. As they will be insolvent soon. Tables around us ordering and paying directly at the bar. Worst run restaurant I've been to. Goodluck!

Last year I went to Tipples to watch sport, but it was disappointing as their dstv signal was really bad, you couldn’t watch sport without the signal breaking up and losing connection the whole game through. I booked a table this year for the rugby final and I was disappointed again with the same problem. I ended up going to another place before the game started. It is certainly not a place to enjoy some sport with friends. The hake was also extremely oily. They will never see me again!

The waiter we had was definitely unprofessional and did not pay attention to our needs, did not care for us being there, he was very unknowledgeable to serve. He did not ask how we wanted our egg, out steak. He did not check up on us if we are fine. He gave us both a butter knife to cut our streak, no serviettes. We asked for doggely bag to place out food in at the end, he bought a small one for a big plate of food, he asked us if we need a fork to place te food in the take away bag , I looked at my husband and I did not even want to answer, I was so angry. TERRIBLE SERVICE. !!!!!!!

Service was great have to say the lady was fun and engaging and, overall, just a good waiter. The food was good, beers were cold, and we got to watch some sport and just hang out. The place is comfortable and a nice spot for sports beer and food.

Had a few drinks with friends there on Friday. The bill was R350.. I paid R250 with my other friends covering the rest.. Got home check my balance I paid the full R350 after telling the batmen twice make it R250.. (fair enough I had to check it when I was there) But wat I don't understand is.. They didn't tell my friend the bill is paid.. My friend thinking he still owes R100 with tip not included.. Paid over R200 rand... Am Feeling robbed to be honest... That dishonest barmen can keep the tip.. But he will never see me there again..

I was thinking of becoming a regular for a snack and to talk ideas to people and get feedback The manager says that people want to relax so leave them alone if I happen to sit and talk to someone next to me okay talk But great limitations limitations I am seeking social interactions and if this bar puts limitations on asking a question to see if a person is interested to listen or not If not move on of course common sense clearly bad for socially awkward people trying to practice

I don't know what to say... I see so many good reviews, but my experience was very disappointing. We ordered the Schnitzel through Mr Delivery and it was the worst Schnitzel we've ever had. Everything tasted like it was fried in old oil mixed with cleaning detergents and the sauce was very bland. My wife and I completely lost our appetite and ended up just throwing the whole meal in the bin.

The food is good, but the service could be better. The hygiene as well. The tables are very sticky. Since it is more of a bar, I get that it won't have the best acoustics (quite loud - cannot hear well what the person opposite you is saying) and the place smells like smoke despite a dedicated smokers section. We had to wait long before we could place our orders. It's also not the first time a staff member forgot to ring up a drink on my bill.

First time that I have ordered from them, it was a delivery order. The only thing that I tasted on my burger was butter, my husband agreed. Chips were ok. Onion rings could have had more seasoning. Sorry but this was my first and last time ordering from you. My mistake for trying a new place. Looking at your other reviews you either need to change your ways or get a new chef.

When going to the bar today we needed to get our own menu's - we were offered a round of drinks with effort from the waitress. When wanting to order food one assisted us, the waitresses were more into assisting the locals with sports channels. When getting the bill we were asked how much tip we were going to leave! The cheeeeeeck after poor service was rendered. Sad to see such a great hangout managed poorly with a weak staff bregade.

Waited 2hrs for our starters not talking about the drinks we had to get our drinks at the bar but we running a Tab later on when we were asking for our food no one knew who even rang up our food we were so disappointed and we were a group of 7 people we ended up paying for our drinks and we left the premises not even a manager came to us and explain what's going on with our food

2020 used to Love this place, seems sad that Covid caused them to close down. THIS was 2 years ago. 2021.Sadly tonight January 2023 I was very disappointed, most horrendous, old oil fries. In the hub of an office park, this place is great for the after work quick appetizer and throat lubricant befor heading home. Land yourself here on a Friday and you might be surprised woth some live bands from time to time. Your typical bar and grill. Well established and a good distinguish between smoking and non- smoking which is always a big upside for me, other may have different options

There was a strange tasting pink sauce on the beef burgers that wasn't too our taste. Couldn't get rid of the after taste for a while. Restaurant had few customers but the waitress was mostly absent and the 2 burger meals too long to be served.

Amazing!! Even through and after lockdown. Dropped in for a draft the other day. Ice cold, excellent service. AND they have expanded! That takes guts and vision. Nothing better than to sit on the deck, enjoying the magnificent view, a draft and a fabolustic burger. Cannot wait for my boy to visit from Buthan, so we can again ecperience Tipples.

Service is okay but food was a complete let down. I ordered the chicken schnitzel, schnitzel was dry and oily at the same time...could only stomach a little bit. Everything else was dripping with oil. So sad for the money wasted there.

This manager and staff so amazing. I lost my laptop bag 3 months ago, today after 3 months I cone back and the manager come to me and ask my name, and give a smile and walk away and go to the back and surprise me with my laptop bag. Great place and great vibes.. they have awesome specials on Mondays which are half price pizza and Thursdays half price burger. The staff is great and friendly. This is a great place to visit after a long day at work or a night out. It has a modern ambiance, an outside deck and smoking area. Happy hour from 5pm -6pm on Mondays to Thursdays

Steak was dry, no tenderness as advertised. Chips was old and cold. Mushroom sauve tastes like packet sauce made and frozen. Absolutely disgusted to have to pay so much for such poor quality food. One place i will not order or recommend at all

A nice break from the typical northern suburbs pubs, sort of offers a more modern bar experience. The staff are excellent, and there is always management presence. Drinks are affordable, food is tasty and the view is pleasant. However, their closing time is listed as 2AM, and if you get there at 23:54 - they will be closed.

Good spot to get drunk at and look at the Peugeot's. Just a great location to find affordable drinks and space to hang. Food is just a concept but horrible wouldn't recommend spending money on food but drinks are affordable. Mostly elderly spend their time here nothing great - can be a bit cheesy.

Worst experience ever. Service was bad and wated 40 mins for our food. Ordered 1kg ribs which looked more like 600g, was burnt and cold and came with 8 cold chips.

Awesome place for a beer after work, food is really great and reasonably priced. They have burger specials, and their pizza’s are superb! If you looking for a place to chill with friends or colleagues, look no further. Situated centrally too.

An awesome pub with great atmosphere. Perfect for business lunches, drinks or dinner. Inside and outside seating as well as non-smoking bar area. There is also seating and a bar area for smokers. I recommend Tipples for business or pleasure.

Enjoyed a lunch at this bar restaurant with a friend. The food was above average but the service was VERY POOR. Prices are competitive. Don't go if you in a rush, or you will miss your next appointment.
