I bought a evenflo revolver 360 carseat at the Oakville location on Aug 21st 2021. After assembling the product, the seat got locked in a way I couldn't unlock anymore. After trying calling evenflo (they don't have support on the weekends), checking the manual and looking online I couldn't find how to resolve my problem. I took it, still BRAND NEW & NEVER USED, to the Burlington store location. I explained my problem to the staff member and took her to my car to see the carseat. She said: "I may know what the problem is". So she put the carseat ON THE GROUND, and started forcing it and scratching the base trying to rotate it. Note, I told her that I've tried that already, she didn't care to listen and kept ruining the thing. I told her, let me put something to protect it in case I have to return it. She then told me that it was out of the box so it had no return. Well, I've paid $400 in a defective product but still brand new and an employee destroyed it so now I won't have how to return it indeed. It is at least bizarre and a terrible experience. I would never go back to this store. Never. I will add the photos of the damage she has caused and the receipt from when I bought it so you can see it was brand new. Edit. The store manager, Katie,contacted me on the same day and solved the issue by phone. She was very understanding and fast to solve the issue. That's why I am changing the review to 4 star.
Horrible website design - I tried to sign up for rewards and there was no information on my rewards #. Not in my account info, not in email, etc. Then couldn't delete something from my basket and had to start again. Secondly, tried to purchase something from a registry and no matter how much I spent, I had to pay for shipping even though it "advertises" free shipping over $49. On top of that, they have so little things in stock, so I can't even buy anything online and ship to house. So I purchased elsewhere, and then called them and asked to mark as purchased on registry and they said they can't. So now there is a chance the product can be purchased twice. Third, I bought something for in store pick up. They cancelled my order because they "couldn't find it". I called the store and they suddenly found a box of them. If I go to pick it up, I would have to pay again, even though my cc was charged already and would have to wait for the refund from the cancelled order. Like this is ridiculous business management and customer service, especially in 2023. Do BETTER!
I have returned a few items to this location, that were unwanted gifts from extended family members for our kids. We carried a balance on a toys r us store card, however when we went to use the store credit I found the balance had been reduced and in some cases disappeared completely. This wasn't a one time occurrence. When I asked the staff to look into it, they told me they were unable to check which purchases were made on the store card and could not give me a balance history on the card. I am the only one who uses the store card so I believe that the only explanation is toys r us has been deleting our credit. Be cautious of return amounts stored on toys r us store cards because after a while the stored amounts are deleted without notice. Toys r us my also be charging a storage fee for maintaining the stored funds on their cards for returned items. Quite disappointing!
If I could give a 0 I would me and friends just got kicked out. We were very respectful and peaceful. They assumed we were not going to buy anything even though I wanted to get a toy doll for my niece’s birthday. This is unacceptable behaviour. Plus it was nice reviewing our memory’s how ever this is unacceptable. Reply to store owner: we did not have skateboards, we were talking to the lovely employee at the wonderlab that day we did not touch anything inside the wonder lab we were respectful and responsible with the products. The fact that you are deliberately lying and deem your customer service reasonable is a joke. All we were trying to do was revisit our childhood mementoes and get something for my niece.
Jon, I don’t know how you did it, but you did!! I’d like to thank Jon and the staff at Toys R Us for going above and beyond for me. I returned a toy that was gifted to my daughter. Jon helped me with absolutely unmatched service and assistance. The next day I realized I’d returned the wrong toy (my daughter was NOT happy with me). The next day I returned, saw Jon and explained my predicament. This was a clearance item, and not just “off-the-shelf”. Jon jumped into action. He said to me “we’re finding this toy”. I was elated, especially after he actually scoured the store and located the toy that I desperately needed! Above-and-beyond, Jon and Toys R Us team! Thank you for caring!!
I just wanted to take the time to callout Jody from Babies R Us who helped my husband and I last weekend with purchasing a crib and dresser. I was unable to order two of the pieces online so I called the store and spoke with Jody who walked me through how I can do curbside and ended up finding one of the pieces for me to go with the crib and dresser. She got everything ready for us and met us curbside and when the crib wouldn't fit in either vehicle she was able to get it delivered to us the next day. Jody, then followed up the next day to ensure everything went smoothly. I haven't experienced customer service like this in a really long time absolutely amazing!!!!
Really unhappy with this store - we came for a Lego event with the kids and they had cancelled the morning time slot. Our kids still nap so the other time slots offered were not going to work. The manager did not offer anything in return. We had rushed our three kids to the store on time and it was very disappointing. I also asked for help from associates while I was there. Seemed like the average age of the CSRs was 15. They were really not very helpful. I wouldn't recommend coming here again, the prices are high and the quality of the service has really declined.
I walked in needing to buy three gifts for three children and no idea where to start. One of the associates noticed me a bit frazzled and looking here and there when they approached me to see if they could help. I wish I knew the associate's name. They literally took me from section to section pointing out all the new and really cool products. We chose jewelry making kits and Bitzees for the girls and star wars lego vehicles for the boys. It was helpful to have someone assist and point out what's "in" right now and what's not. Thank you so much. All kids are happy!
Popped into this location today, when I went to check out, there was only one cash open, which is fine as it wasn't busy but when we approached the register the cashier Sarah said she had to wait for a customer to return. So we waited while the customer continued to shop while not being served by the cashier. Wasted 10 minutes waiting for this customer to come back before we were finally helped. Poor customer service, will not be returning to this location anytime soon.
I had bought a bike from another retailer for my granddaughter. It was defective and I could not find another that could accommodate training wheels anywhere else. I never thought about going to Toys r Us. When I went they were very helpful they put the bike together in a day and put training wheels on it. The customer service desk was very helpful as well. On top of that the bike was less expensive there then it was at the other stores.
I placed an order for the Bright Starts Unicorn Crew Activity Gym in October. It never got delivered so I contacted customer care and was told it was stuck in a fulfillment centre. I asked for a full refund and was denied. I still have the emails. There has been zero update so I lost my money. I will never buy anything online from this website and i will definitely not recommend its registry. Wish I could give 0 stars to this company.
I wasn't finding what I wanted online so I called customer service at the Appleby location and it was amazing. Jody went above and beyond. I purchased a gift card online and she processed my payment over the phone for the two small items I wanted. So much effort for a $30 sale. I'm very appreciative that she helped me over the phone instead of sending me back to the computer with two small kids at home. Well done, Toys R Us!
To Heather the store manager. I'm all for holding products for customers when they are a products are very common. Like common funkos or exclusive ones u get multiple. But a Chase is one in six so a chase funko shouldnt be allowed to be put on hold. Because it's clearly going to someone who wants to make profit on it. The items should hit the sales floor before being put on hold not straight out the box in the stockroom.
A merry Christmas shout out to Frazer and Isabelle who were a refreshing change from the Grinches working the over stores this holiday season! Frazer saved Christmas by heading to the back and digging up the last two Mario Brothers Remote control cars, and Isabelle was the icing on on the gingerbread house with her Merry Christmas disposition at check out… great way to finish off the Christmas shopping!
What fantastic service! We were in desperate need of a double stroller and we received excellent advice from Yvonne. She was thorough and knowledgeable and truly made our decision easy. Yamini was working the counter that day and she was super patient and helpful as we had to return the previous stroller that we had purchased. Would definitely come back to this location for future baby needs!
I’ve been dealing with Katie throughout my pregnancy with products and making my big purchases. She has been nothing but absolutely amazing and giving me the information I need. I live in Hamilton and make the trips to your store just to deal with her. Every time I visit I get nothing but the best service from every associate! I recommend your store to everyone over every other store.
Friendly and extremely helpful staff. They took the time to call around to other stores to find the last available bassinet for me, and tried to do the same for a diaper bag that was also marked as being unavailable. They were very knowledgeable on their products and gave me the best possible estimate as to when I could expect them to be back in stock. Thanks again!
I was looking to get a red panda plush from the movie Turning Red, and was informed by the member of staff, Rachel, that there will be a restock and a hold can be placed. Rachel was super helpful in setting up the hold of the toy, made the process super easy. I am very happy! With this approachable staff, making future purchases and inquiries be a breeze.
We were originally going to purchase our new babies crib and furniture through Buybuybaby but thank goodness we didn't. Yvonne was absolutely outstanding and saved the day in being accommodating to ensure our purchases were available when we needed them. It was in incredible experience just based off her awesomeness. Yesterday I went to Oakville and left with sheer disappointment. Then I went to burlington and had amazing customer service from Amrit. He was professional, understanding, knowledgeable and so friendly. This store is big neat and organized. Thank you for making my daughters Christmas an amazing one! Amazing customer service.
Tiffany, Breana and Amit helped us a lot with our shopping to our baby girl. They answered all our questions accurately. They helped us for more than two hours while we were doing the shopping. Staff was extremely helpful. Even more importantly...came out immediately to see what i was referring to at the ramp by the wheelchair parking. The sidewalk at the ramp has a 1 inch bump up that made it quite treacherous to push my elderly client up.... I could see their concern and appreciated them not ignoring it
I had a great experience in Babies R Us. I was helped by Manveer and he was able to explain to me the baby registry process, as well as answer mine and my husbands qurstions. The cashier was pleasant as well. The service at this location is always great, and I look forward to continue shopping here
Had a terrible experience with Tiffany returning a baby gate where she practically accused me of being a liar and was very unhelpful. The store manager was able to help and we were able ti exchange the gate for another one that works. Not what I was expecting for a routine return/exchange
I had such an amazing experience at the store! I bought dolls for my two nephews and I was wondering what the best ones were. The cashier Hayley gave me and amazing recommendation and they love their dollies! That beautiful young lady deserves a raise! 10/10 will be coming back!!

I was disgusting with service here.. Paulette (Manger) refused to check for a product. I never had a employee refuse me to check for an item. Its kinda sad. I had intentions to buy $50.00 worth of toys as im a collector. They lost my business. Going to Walmart.
Had ordered an item online, the order was quickly prepared within an hour. When I arrived the male at the front was friendly and found all my paper work quickly, he retrieved the item from the back promptly. The store looked clean and well taken care off.
I was shopping for a new Lego Friends set for my youngest Mackinsleigygh and this nice young man named William offered to assist me in choosing a set. He kindly suggested a gorgeous wrapping paper for the set I chose and told me to have a wonderful day!

Huge store. Great variety in inventory. The baby R us attached to it is very convenient. The only issue is that it’s hard to find any staff if you have questions. or need help with anything.
