We will never do business with TruTec Electric Company again. After a lightning strike, we hired TruTec to assess internal electrical wiring damage, to determine the subsequent integrity of our electrical system, and to estimate the cost of repairs for insurance purposes. Upon TruTec’s recommendation, we paid $3,000+ for a so-called ‘Megger test’. ‘The purpose of this test is to identify any damaged wiring. This includes burned, chewed through, cut through or any other damaged wire’-from Statement of Work (SoW). The ‘pass-fail’ Megger test showed 15 out of 30 circuits in our house ‘failed’. However, the technicians could not give us any definitive assessment other than the circuit ‘failed’, and they could only hypothesize a number of possibilities why the circuit failed. Based on the SoW, we believe that we were deceived and paid for information that TruTec did not deliver. Moreover, we found that TruTec’s statement of repair work was more exploratory than definitive and the repair cost estimates were excessive. Their $25,723 estimate included replacing all the wall receptacles & switches in each failed circuit, rebuilding the subpanel breaker box, replacing the feed from the main panel to the subpanel, and replacing the power feed to the cooktop. After completing those repairs, they proposed to do another Megger test to see if any circuit failed again. After which TruTec would issue a second estimate of repairs that included, possibly, breaking down sheetrock to find the ‘fault’ (As they explained, we would be responsible for any structural/sheetrock repairs). It has been more than three months since the test and no one from TruTec has communicated with us. In summary, we feel strongly that we were deceived into allowing TruTec to perform its estimate and their so-called ‘Megger test’, which, in the end, was just a line-resistance test that registers a ‘fail’ with so much as a simple loose wall receptacle. We are embarrassed. Addendum 1: Several days before the test, we texted the TruTec Safety Manager to ask if the Megger test was going to be done on every receptacle and every light switch. The answer was, ‘Yes sir! We do need access to as many devices and splices…’ We spent three days moving furniture to expose all receptacles. TruTec never did a Megger test on any receptacle or light switch. Addendum 2: On the day of the test, TruTec replaced four of seven wall receptacles in one bedroom, but no repairs were made to the known damaged receptacles and switches. The picture attached shows one replaced receptacle; we were very dismayed with the level of workmanship and especially not being told about the damage to the plaster. Addendum 3: Another electric company repaired the known damages and assessed the integrity of suspect circuits; cost was less than 5% of TruTec’s proposed estimate of repairs.

I don't even know where to begin. I am still in awe of the kindness, transparency and professionalism of Daniel and his team (Caleb + Juan). I was experiencing some issues with my meter box outside due to the shifting of the ground and had a couple electricians come out to quote me (As a single homeowner I get very nervous to trust that they are not taking advantage of me) Many of the quotes I go were overwhelming and filled with fear of the tens of thousands of dollars of potential problems that could arise during the project. I felt like I would never find a reliable team to help me resolve my issue. Somehow I found TruTec and Daniel. Daniel talked a distressed me through how his team was going to come over, assess the situation and give me options. His evaluation was so thorough and honest. His team came out the next day to start the work, worked with the city and had my power off for only 3 hrs! Not only is my meter box replaced and service drop repair but TruTecs repair will also allow the natural movements of my home to not have the same problem again. I am also extremely satisfied with their warranty as well as they financing options. Their quotes were competitive but fair but honestly the best service I have had and you get what you paid for. While I hope I do not have any electrical issues for a very very long time I am comforted in knowing I have found an incredible team to keep me safe and a customer for life. I apologize that I am not good with names. The first man who came out to do work at my house was absolutely amazing. He was also super nice and easy to talk with about my lights. He knew the solution to both problems that he looked at within seconds. He explained to me what was happening with my lights and what I needed to do to get them to work again. He also looked at a ceiling fan light that was working, but not working properly. He knew the wires were not connected correctly and fixed it within minutes. He didn't even charge me for untangling the wires on the ceiling fan. He was so helpful and the reason that I called TruTec a second time when I was having problems. The second man who came did not have a friendly personality. He seemed like he didn't want to do what I was asking him to do. I had put in a new light fixture, but because I had shoulder surgery, I couldn't screw the light part onto the ceiling part that I had installed. He did finish the light while quoting me the rules he had to work by (which was totally unnecessary). I thought he charged me more than what he should have charged, but I guess it balanced out because the first man did not charge me for everything he did. I will definitely use TruTec again, but I am going to request the first man who came out who was so friendly. So sorry I don't remember his name, but I have not doubt it will be in my records.

OUTSTANDING service. From the moment I called, I was in great hands and treated courteously and with professional demeanor. Everything was clearly outlined as to my meeting with the technician (Bon) where we went over all the work, multiple options for completion, and scheduling/payment (NOTE: they offer no-interest financing for six months!). Having locked that down, i was lucky enough to get the scheduling we needed before moving into the new home and 1) Edward was on time, 2) Edward was responsive to questions I had (as was Bon), and Edward did excellent work in the panel and at the outlets that needed updating to GFCI. Even better, they knew how to assess where those outlets could install for full downstream protection - a big bonus that allowed for some savings. All in all, I could not have been happier with the work itself and the ancillary operations of the men and women I worked with = the woman that I first spoke with when contacting TruTec was clear and knowledgeable. I will HIGHLY recommend Edward, Bon and TruTec for your residential electrical needs. Thanks, ya'll!

I called TruTec Electric to help me select and install the right fans for my living room and master bedroom. Bon Lafayette came out quickly, examined my existing ceiling fixture and wiring, and gave me great advice and a bid to install the two fans. Days later, once I had the fans, they cam out and installed them and I am delighted with the work. I also asked about installing an electric outlet in a closet and a new ethernet port in my office. Once again, I got great advice, and they came out the next day to install. I am again delighted with their work and would highly recommend them. Bon and his team are awesome, and I am so glad for all they have done for me. They also have a great support team, with texts and emails reminding me of service appointments, emailing me the bids and description of the work to perform, and then the receipts after the work was completed. I will definitely be calling Bon and team back if I have more needs as we set up our new house here in Round Rock TX.

Danny and Caleb from TruTec just bailed me out. I was drilling a hole for a drywall anchor and managed to hit the wire for GFCI outlet on the other side of the wall. It shorted and tripped the circuit. Thankfully, when I reset the circuit, everything still worked, but I was worried about the damage inside the wall (and exposed wire being a potential fire hazard). The guys at TruTec came out within an hour and a half, assessed the situation (along with doing a free safety audit for the rest of the house) and gave me a very reasonable price to fix it. The work was done quickly and professionally and they even threw in a GFCI outlet for free to make sure the hardware was fresh. All was fixed within 4 hours. I can't recommend them enough and I'll be going to them exclusively for any future electrical needs.

I called TruTecElectric because I had breakers overloading. Danny sent me a text saying he was on his way & a picture of himself. That made me more comfortable. He was so nice. I also had a list of questions. He answered all my questions and found a burnt wire, which he replaced immediately. He explained what I needed about the overloading of my breakers. The next morning I received a text and picture of the technicians coming to fix my issues. Again, they were so friendly and explained what they would be doing. Needed a few lights and sockets replaced in my kitchen and stairwell. Cole came on Tuesday to look at what needed to be done, provided quotes for each service and options for the more expensive one. I decided to just do everything, called back the same day, and scheduled for the next day. Eddy and Daniel came, knocked everything out in a couple hours, checking with me along the way for when they were replacing a single kitchen fixture with 4 LED cans, making sure I was happy with the placement. They walked me through everything, were fast and professional, and made nice conversation. They made quick work of a small job and I’m glad they were the ones who did it. The team at TruTec did an incredible job with our house! We lost power entirely after a branch fell during a storm and they came right away after we called. WOW! What a great company! First, I almost never write a review, and always reluctant to attach my name to a referral. Daniel Perez is above and beyond an extremely knowledgeable, honest, and extremely helpful electrician. He gave me some great advice on a remodel job and I plan to use them to wire a new home construction on a second home in the near future. Bon and Caleb came out and gave me estimates for several items I needed help with. Bon helped me understand how old my breaker box was and what all comes into play with installing ceiling fans where overhead lights are currently. Also, Patrick was good help when I was setting up my appointment, which is when we had a local power outage that I was unaware of. There was a conflict where they had to reschedule for the following day and kindly offered a discount. The tech (electrician?), Bon Lafayette, was friendly and very professional. I appreciate that he wore his mask, gloves, and booties the whole time and brought a drop cloth for protective covering and ease of cleanup. He communicated well to set expectations on cost and timeframe for completion. The cost was higher than I expected it to be to remove and replace four light fixtures, but the service was good. I would call them again.

My landlord recently hired a TruTec and they were absolutely fantastic! Technicians, Logan and Juan were sent to my house to resolve a multitude of issues. It’s often difficult for us to find handy people to work on our tiny house, but TruTec readily agreed and even sent someone over with direct tiny house experience. Their communication and follow ups with scheduling via online & via phone were always through and appreciated! We hired Trutec to install few chandeliers we got for our new house. The old ones were very old style and we wanted to install new modern ones. Cole and his team did such an amazing job. Our main entryway chandelier had more than 200 pieces and it took them 6 hours to install. They put so much hard work into installing each of the chandeliers and I cannot be more happy with it. I would definitely recommend their service. Everyone was super professional and friendly. They explained everything nicely and were upfront about any charges before even starting the job.

We needed a ceiling fan replaced and had a great experience with TrueTec Electric. Their customer service goes above and beyond. I forgot we had bluetooth lightbulbs in our old fan until later in the day after the install when I tried to turn the new lights on with my phone and couldn't connect. (Totally my miss) I called and Logan who had done the install brought the bulbs back same day and even switched them out for us. & When Bon was here he gave our pup a couple treats, which she loved! The nicest guys who do great work! 10/10 would recommend.

Nick and his partner were great at the panel change out. They had it completed in little over 1/2 a day! The panel was so much better than the old one. Surge protection and 200 amp grid break away switch is something I have never had in the 45 years we’ve lived in this house we had built. I’m so happy with the new panel, it’s access. These fellows really know their electricity. I hired TruTech because they are not Jack of all trades as others are they are professional electricians. They labeled every circuit for us!! They replaced my main and sub-panel, grounded the system, and replaced all switches and plugs in the entire house - in just 2 days! (Older house, many items were out of code or unsafe/installed incorrectly). The team was very respectful of our home and my special requests. The team was prompt, clean, extremely knowledgeable, fast, with an eye for fit and finish. The project turned out great - I would hire Bon and his team again without hesitation!

I haven't even paid them for work yet, but the quote process alone was amazing! They helped me better understand the safety hazards in my home, and went above and beyond by actually fixing one of the smaller electrical problems I was having. For example, I actually just installed an HVAC system in my home to find it wouldn't power on! Amazing group of people, Cole the tech assigned to our house project did a great job at troubleshooting and isolating the problem. Fixed it as quickly and as accurately as he could, great job Cole! We had an issue with smoke detector battery replacement beeping not stopping, which was frustrating and difficult to sleep through to say the least! We called TruTec on Monday and they were able to get us scheduled for an appt within 24hrs, and they were even able to pull it in further together it done sooner. TruTec has interest free financing, which allowed me to make the needed safety repairs without having to worry about how to pay for it all at once. Cole (Tru Tec Electric) was the technician who troubleshot my wiring problem and lucky for me he identified my phone problem which my phone company previously refused to acknowledge for five months. With Cole’s input to my phone company’s representative, it was verified that I indeed have a phone problem and thanks to Cole of (TruTec Electric) corrective action by my phone company was scheduled to repair my phone line.

TruTec will be swapping out some light fixture for us in our office, and so far they have been fantastic. Our initial contact with Mari, their customer service rep, sealed the deal for us. She was helpful, professional and very prompt in returning our calls. Our technician, Daniel A., arrived on time, assessed the issue quickly and provided a clear quote for the job. We shall continue to use them for any further work.

I run a spa and have been in desperate need for help with my sauna cocoon. Kind of them to take the job even though this was different than what they normally do. Julio, Juan and Bon were so amazing in trying to help us solve the problem. Julio came to the house and got right to the problems. He determined that our ceiling fan transmitter box was not working. He then bypassed that box so that the fan and light will work from the wall switch until we get a new transmitter box. Also suggested we get a new led light for the laundry vs changing the ballast in the florescent light. I hate florescent lights.

I caller TruTec to hook up a new garbage disposal in my kitchen. The response on the phone was prompt, they were very responsive and helped me that day, and Trevor and Quentin did a great job on the install including some work on the splash board. Finished product looked like just what I wanted. Very happy overall; I’d call them again for my next electrical needs.

Bon Lafayette was fantastic! When his schedule cleared up he let me know so he could come help even earlier. He gave me good recommendations on what I needed and how to know if things were critical. 2 lights in my tall ceiling had also gone out and I didn’t have a ladder yet. I needed three ceiling fans taken down and fandeliers and a chandelier put up in their place. From the first call to the end of the job they were prompt and courteous. They even went and bought a ceiling plate cover to properly install the chandelier as the included one and the ceiling medallion I bought weren't gonna cut it. I will definitely use them again.

I hired them for emergency situation to replace light fixture bracket. I got charged about $700 for less than an hour work with $10 part replacement. I requested for the estimation over the phone, but refused. If you have enough time to search and get estimation from other company, do not hire this company

They were astronomically expensive, inexperienced, and when I got my final quote the electrician accidentally showed me me his laptop screen and it had a Zillow price estimate for me home. I can only assume they charge based off of your home value, which is gross. I would never recommend them.
