Lady at the front desk was very unfriendly. I think I had a staring contest with her after I mentioned that I had a package to pick up. Don’t know why she just didn’t tell me to give her my info... but maybe it was a boring day at work and she needed some 30 second entertainment? :) when she finally asked for info, I tried to give her the confirmation I got from doing the redelivery option, but she insisted on the tracking number. Also, I had moved to a new apartment so the address on my ID isn’t updated but I ended up showing her the address on my bank account from my phone, but she still gave me a hard time. I understand it’s protocol but come on, if she would’ve just taken the confirmation number in the first place to confirm with my ID that shows I’m the person that’s meant to pick up, everything would’ve been smooth. Talk about customer service... but thanks I guess.
I wish you could give negative stars. Most worthless facility ever. Had a package that got marked delivered, but never was. Ordered the product again because I was in need of the item. This time it got marked undeliverable because address was wrong, which is not true at all. I then sat on the phone for over an hour and rescheduled the delivery for three days ago, and guess what, still no package! On top of that, I haven't received mail in three days which includes important work documents that should've arroved over a week ago. Only response I got when I physically went to the store was that they don't know where the mail is and that they'd call me in a few days. And the lady behind the desk was acting pained the whole time because I showed up 25 minutes before close due to their horrific hours
We need this shipping store in a neighborhood that lacks responsible postal stores. The hours are excellent, and the device quite prompt. I've never had a bad or questionable transaction here, and most things I ship from here arrive on time or often earlier than expected. The staff is good to offer shipping options and they provide written receipts automatically. The store offers copying services, post boxes, shipping supplies and related good and services. It is a quiet little place that we should support we should support. If you are unfamiliar with the shop, stop in, get the business card and lust of hours. It is one of those places that comes on handy when we have to get things between cities. The calm, profession atmosphere is great during the holidays and at other stressful times.
They have maybe once delivered my package on time. In all other cases they would mark my package delivered, and then deliver it next day, or the following Monday( if the original delivery day was a Friday or a Saturday). Since my packages are nowhere to be found, I have to call this location to look up my package. Then the snippy attendant says that they have delivered it, and it goes in circles.. I complained at USPS customer service, but they are pretty much the same. Not to mention that every time I call USPS CS the wait time is around 30 minutes... Oh, and once my regular postman was on vacation, so his replacement " could not find my address "(?)! They finally found my package on their shelf and delivered it four days later!.Unbelievable!
I have never written a good or bad review about anything in my entire life until now. What I just experienced is absolutely unacceptable. The front desk lady should not be working at any job that involves customer service/helping people. She is simply not fit and I can’t believe the government hired this woman. If you look at every single review for this usps location, most are all about her and how horrible she is at her job. Some are from more than a year ago!! How she is still there is shocking. What I went through with this woman would take too long to type out....and I don’t have time for that lol Avoid using usps if you’re in Lincoln Park.
5 - stars for Customer Service! I was told that I cannot drop off Outgoing Mail here... Huh?!!! I had never heard of a U.S. Post Office that did not forward mail!! They were very busy in the back. The lady at the counter explained that they were preparing mail for delivery in the Lincoln Park area. I was surprised to see that the lady was so polite & soft-spoken while the others in the back were so busy and yelling! She wrote an address for my local Post Office in Lakeview. All this and the place was so tiny! But this lady was so very nice and polite...! I thanked her as kindly as I knew how and left. Well... That was interesting.
Absolutely terrible customer service When i came in i wasnt greeted...Arliss had me wait 5 mins without addressing my issue. She was very rude and cut me off when i was speaking. Unfortunately she did not know that I too work for u.s.p.s. she gave me a hassle about my package because I had my slip and not my I.D. all around a miserable individual. I will be contacting post master and customer service for a complaint. And if you have any issues let them know. They are definitely giving the U.S.P.S a bad name...not to mention i have a p.o. box in the suburbs to avoid there terrible service and late deliveries at this addressed.
If there was a thumbs down button, I would press it thousands time myself. Scheduled a pick up three times for my business. Their mailman made excuses and left saying he will be back to pick it up. Never came back Caught him third time in my shop. He refused to take my packages even though I had a pickup confirmation. Later that evening, he marked the pickup complete when I had to go drop 30 packages all by myself to the usps location. Good thing I got him on the security cameras refusing the service. Will call news channel next. If it’s not for small businesses and the government, all the usps employees will be unemployed.
I unfortunately had the same experience as many of the other customer reviews. My package says it was delivered a week ago but after checking with neighboring businesses as well as my apartment complex neighbors, it could not be found. I submitted a request for follow up and all they could tell me was that it was delivered. I asked for confirmation of whether it was delivered inside or outside the residence, if it potentially was delivered to a neighboring business for safety, if any type of picture of the delivery was taken, etc. and the woman I spoke to kept repeating the same line over and over. Very unhelpful overall.
Do not use USPS or EMS for international priority mail! My family in China mailed me some documents and they missed me cuz I’m at work then left a note in mail box with no date mentioning “pick up before this date”. A location closes at 5pm it’s impossible to get to without asking for time off. A few days later when I go to the location to pick up they said they returned the mail back to China!!!!! With no notice!! The mail was literally delivered to my building they could have just left it in the building like every other carrier!!! Now my documents probably forever lost. DO NOT USE!!!!
I'm trans and the name I normally put on my mail is different than my legal name. A package was delivered to the post office instead of my apartment without my knowledge and when I went to pick it up the worker was verh judgemental of my chosen name. I don't care if you don't like it but at least be professional and keep it to yourself. I always have issues picking up packages when I don't know they'll be left at a delivery services building beforehand because of the difference in legal name but at least I was able to still pick it up in the end.
As bad as it gets! You walk in bringing business to this “post office” only to be greeted by Rude and hostile employees. I walked to send a certified mail with return receipt, but the woman behind the counter being busy playing with her cell phone answered without even looking at me: ‘we don’t process certified mail, you need to go to Sheffield!’ Can I purchase stamps from you? ‘I just told you go to Sheffield!’ Now 2 questions: is that an efficient business culture? Why in the world are you open under the label Post Office???
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I won't be trying to hold my mail with the local post office again; it's a week later and not only do I have none of my mail that was supposedly "held," but a package containing necessary medication was returned to sender for no explainable reason and every inquiry I've made has gone nowhere. I want to support the USPS as an institution, but every interaction I've had with them at this location has made me extremely reluctant to do business with them versus private carriers. It's a shame.
I wish there was a way to rate zero stars. As with almost every USPS location, you are met with rude workers who don't want to help you. You are met with attitude from the very beginning and you're talked to like you're dumb. All of these people need to lose their job and the system needs to be overhauled. No other place would out up with their employees acting this way. USPS should pay attention to these reviews. There is obviously someone at the front treating everyone this way based on what everyone else is saying.
I have to give this USPS office an outstanding rating for their tireless effort and help with finding my lost package. The package was originally delivered to the wrong location, which was not helpful. But, the woman (I think her name was Arlie) at USPS did an incredible job with tracking down the whereabouts of my package and getting it to my apartment within 48 hours. I am extremely impressed and know that I can rely on this location for any future help with USPS!
There must be a rowdy band of chimpanzees running this post office. They lose mail, deliver packages four or five days later than the paid for alloted time, and resist you every step of the way when you reach out for customer service. The mail carrier lies about package delivery by saying he was unable to reach the mailbox. Right. Unable to walk through an unlocked door without a speck of snow on the ground. Great work, guys, and excellent integrity.
They always update the tracking status as - Delivered/In Mailbox when they haven’t actually delivered it. No one picks up the phone, when they do - they’re very rude and refuse to look for the mail unless it’s very urgent. And the USPS mailmen in this location keeps putting the wrong mail in the wrong mailboxes when the mailbox fonts are the size of grown persons hands. Awful service, better off using fedex, ups or some local carrier.
This place is so great. I love having my packages arrive days after the delivery date. Especially when it's important parts for my vehicle. Need to call them? They just let it ring off the hook, so awesome. Ladies in back laughing it up and the front desk attendant is very unhelpful even when you do go in person to pick up your stuff. If I didn't know any better I would have mistaken this place for a circus. It's that much fun.
I have been trying for almost a week to have a package redelivered to my address. Scheduled 3 times online but no package. Our mail gets delivered between 6:30 PM to 8PM! Most of the times thrown on the floor instead of being put in the mail box or the rack for the packages. Saw twice the letter carrier taking a nap in the USPS vehicle in a parking lot close to my building. Worse service ever
I forwarded my mail for six weeks. I didn’t receive one piece of mail except for confirmation of forwarding. I filed a complaint. It was marked as resolved with no explanation. I spoke to several people at this location who assured me they were forwarding my mail. I just got back to 6 weeks of mail that was shoved into my tiny apartment mailbox. No attempt to forward any mail was made.
I wish I could give them half a star. Honestly, I don't understand who is working in that place. For starters, no one answers the phone. They lose packages frequently. They don't apologize for errors that they clearly are at fault for making. They are rude. Absolutely the worst. Not sure what they are doing in there. And problems reported are rarely resolved in a timely manner.
I gave one star because you can’t give less. I went in yesterday to the office and was waiting while the clerk was helping other clients take selfie’s. Then she was very rude to me and did not help me. I called again today and got the same service. My package has the wrong address and she said that there are not enough people to go looking for packages in the back.
Don't count on this place...I think there was an issue with a package I was sending , the store claimed to have never received it. Fortunately, I was able to resolve the situation with my bank. Service is generally pretty poor, and I eventually decided I'd rather go out of my way to the other Lincoln Park location on Sheffield where the service is better.
This location regularly closes early, and I don't mean five minutes early. Several times, I've found myself knocking on the window between 4:15/4:30. Most of the time, no one comes. and ONCE, I saw a staff member in there, and they just ignored me. I hate FedEx, but they stay clocked in until the end of the day. Also, the mailbox outside was locked???
I frequently stop by this USPS to drop off pre-paid, labelled packages for my small business. The staff is super kind and helpful - I haven’t had a single issue yet. It is important to know that it is an annex, so you can’t buy boxes and such here. Anyways, thank you guys for your hard work and for being a great support to small businesses!
The woman who works at the front desk could not be anymore slow, rude, or inconsiderate. There was one person in front of me and it took 20 minutes until I was helped. She also never ended up finding the man's package who was in front of me, and told him to come back at a later date. Terrible, terrible customer service.
There is a reason for calling USPS United States Lost Office! Wish giving a zero was an option. Worst possible customer service! Paid $8 to send an envelope to CA, and it was supposed to get there 4 weeks ago! Guess what, it’s not still there. Calling them each day and no one picks up the phone - just automated voice.
A monument of lackluster service and complacency for a government institution. This place must be part of the Wiener's Circle be-a-jerk-campaign across the street. Service is slow without any regard to customer service, they are rude over the phone, and they don't provide any assistance with sending mail or packages.
Well, I'm from VA and have been trying to call them to ask a simple question about them being able to hold a package I want to send to a friend of mine, but every time I call...it rings and rings and then goes busy. I did have someone pick up, but she was yelling at someone and then hung up on me. Not a good sign.
This is a postal service facility but is not a post office in the normal sense of the word. You cannot mail items from here unless you purchase the correct postage elsewhere. I don’t understand why there is no sign indicating this and why staff seem so surprised that people walk in hoping to mail things.
Not an actual USPS. Won't ship items out and have to go to a whole separate facility. Wasted money on parking just to discover this. Should be more clear about this as I just googled USPS and have no idea that there is a difference through just a search. Shouldn't allow this to come up as an option.
Great place to drop off pre-paid packages! I’ve dropped off about 10 pre-paid packages since we moved to the area in July. Location is convenient and the staff that I’ve had interactions with have been friendly. If you need more services than drop off, you need to go to an alternate location.
The female employee at the window was talking to another employee at another window without even looking or speaking to me even when I spoke to her standing at the window. When I handed her the package, she just swiped it off her table into a bin. If not for USPS, this woman is unemployable.
I can’t believe how nasty the ladies here are. This worker name jasmine is ridiculous nasty and ghetto! They need to improve on the workers here and customer service. This older lady with gray hair who works at the front desk is also rude and ghetto and needs to be retrained and or replaced
Someone really needs to take a look at this location! I've been there and waited for almost 20 minutes. I've press the bell on the table like 3 times maybe I should have press it on streaks but nobody comes out and tell me to wait. Finally, I give up and move on with another branch instead.
Staff are rude and dismissive; also the placement of this annex is a missed opportunity. There a thousand apartments and businesses surrounding this annex; offering retail services (tape, boxes, cards, passport, PO Box etc.) would be a big plus for this location and USPS’s revenue.
Was greeted with nothing but hostility and contempt. There doesn't need to be a person at a desk there, because there isn't much that they ACTUALLY do do to serve potential customers. I say "potential" because she turned my business away. Less than useless, a waste of time.
Extremely bad service, loses mail all the time and any lost mail search request just get closed right away by this branch with zero investigation, repeating the claim that it was "Delivered". Branch is always short on hands and closes early, never follows posted hours.
The fact that annex is in the name should prompt people that this location is not a full service post office. They do not have any packaging or sell anything there but you can drop off packages and the employee I interacted with was very kind and polite.
They never answer the phone. I've had 3 packages go missing in 6 months in this area and the driver always says they made the delivery. I don't know how they'd even remember they delivered a specific package to an address on a particular day.
I agree with all of the disappointment in the reviews below. Extremely rude and unhelpful service in person. The phone is not answered. Our mail is often not delivered at all. Let's hope someone in charge looks at the reviews and makes some
Horrible customer service. USPS initially delivered to the wrong address but could not tell me where it went. Then mysteriously the tracking info is picked back up and rerouted the same package numerous times back and forth from the annex
Terrible service, you can tell they don't care about their customers. They act childish when addressing customers complaints. Unfortunately I've had to deal with this location four times in my 10 years living in the neighborhood. If they
Just an FYI this place only takes pre-labeled items for drop off. They do not take QR codes to then print the shipping label. I learned this after I logged 2 heavy boxes here in the heat. Thought I would write this to save someone a trip
After not getting my mail for a week, I submitted a USPS inquiry that got routed here. I called them today to try to resolve the problem but unfortunately had a similar experience to most of the other reviews. If you go/call here, set
Always has items scanned quickly. However, I usually walk in with packages already labeled ready to ship and just drop them off. However, they will lock the door at 5 on the dot and ignore anyone who hopes to get in at even 5:01. -_-
Avoid this place. This location is an absolute waste of taxpayers’ money. All the employees ignored a group of customers waiting to be helped for 15 minutes. After multiple attempts, one finally showed up with a massive attitude.
Awful employees. Just like the other reviews, the front desk woman is so rude and ignorant even i’m speaking politely. Don’t go there if you need any help with packages. They won’t even answer your questions and just ignore you.
teeny tiny post office for ants. receptionist gives random answers to my specific questions. i know the post office losing money and has experienced a decline in postal workers but i would appreciate a friendlier environment.
We haven't receive our mail in over a week. Important things are just not being delivered the day they should be and then seemingly lost. The closest I get to my mail is the scanned image in my daily digest email.
I live a few blocks away. There’s a semi-truck driver that lays on his horn at 7:15am every single morning. I’ve called during business hours and they’ve *never* answered the phone.
They never answer the phone and any time your package is coming from there they take forever to put it on the truck to get shipped out very disappointing they need to get shut down
Was refused to be give my mail. Work order for my apartment’s usps lock has been placed for allegedly 2 months and nothing has happened. Not able to place a mail hold either.
Just as some reviewers noted no one answered the bell. Went to McDonald's next door, came back, and still no one answered, but I heard voices in the back.
Raven had amazing follow through and fabulous customer service. She helped me locate a package. Every post office should have an employee like her.
very poor customer service and rude staff. my theory is that these workers are severely underpaid...
23 minutes later and the door finally opens. Maybe this location should be shuttered.
Not a normal post office; can’t even buy postage there. Staff were slow w/attitude.
Staff was sleeping and refused to help me upon waking her up.
They don't answer phone calls at 8:33 am :( .
