"I left beech grove p"
"I mailed two Christmas cards that included $50"
"So this happens today when I went to this post office…"
"The absolute most HORRIBLE branch I have ever had the misfortune to have as my post office branch"
"I walked in to send a package to my nephew"
I left beech grove p.o . box gave keys back and change of address. They had my identity to get box. Believe me I had problems there as well. Attitudes , slandering and judging me. Mail stolen, opening hours whenever they felt in mood to quit talking in back and open door and showing up for work on time. I was given a cold attitude leaving to. I moved in Nov. 6 I kept receiving previous residents mail would put on top of mail box. I gave to office and they said they told the postman several times she no longer there. One day going to check for mail. I mentioned I witnessed return mail being stolen. I speak truth of drug dealing. Noise, and mail stolen so now I guess I'm the problem. The postman response was yeah identity theft is real. So next one or 2 days I come to check mail. I mentioned I'll wait. He was filling them. He said no I can give it to you. He knew who I was to give to me??? But I mentioned and pointed to name on box, me, that I keep getting last person mail and it's just me now. He said he don't look at name he quickly puts in. ?? So I look at letter from post office. It said I have to come there show proof of identity, that the address change from 3 wks. ago. Now they decided to put my mail on hold. For security reasons and I need to prove who I am and I live there. Seriously! I called and all I get someone not listening that the fact is I already did show proof at last post office now they want it 2nd time putting my mail on hostage and possible sent back if I don't get there to do a 2nd time in there alloted time. I'm disabled. Old and it's very cold and I have no transportation. Nice of them right. So it's for my security but Noone in this complex going thru what I'm going thru. And people stealing return mail Noone cares. And I get someone who don't live here but I can't get mine. And I see this when locating the main post office. Former Post Office Manager Sentenced to Over Three Years in Federal Prison for Mail Theft and Bank Fraud Conspiracy Wednesday, August 23, 2023 Share For Immediate Release U.S. Attorney's Office, Southern District of Indiana INDIANAPOLIS- James Lancaster, 42, of Indianapolis, Indiana, has been sentenced to 40 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud and mail theft. A co-conspirator, Jordan McPhearson, of Blue Island, Illinois was sentenced in 2022 to 42 months in federal prison after pleading guilty to conspiracy to commit bank fraud. According to court documents, James Lancaster was employed as the Manager of Customer Service at the New Augusta Post Office in Indianapolis, Indiana. Between May 11, 2020, and June 23, 2021, Lancaster used his position at the Post Office to steal checks from the mail. Lancaster gave the stolen checks to Jordan McPhearson, sometimes receiving cash in exchange. McPhearson fraudulently negotiated the stolen checks, depositing them into an account belonging to someone other than the intended payee. Occasionally, McPhearson provide stolen checks to an additional co-conspirator, Lavaris Yarbrough, who fraudulently negotiated them. Throughout the course of the conspiracy, Lancaster stole more than 270 pieces of U.S. mail from the New Augusta Post Office. This mail contained checks from more than 50 different local businesses, including a non-profit dedicated to cancer research. In total, the value of the stolen checks was approximately $1.7 million. The final defendant, Lavaris Yarbrough will be sentenced in late September. The United States Postal Service- Office of Inspector General investigated this case with valuable assistance provided by the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. The sentences were imposed by U.S. District Court Chief Judge, Tanya Walton Pratt and Judge Sarah Evans Barker. The courts ordered that Lancaster and McPhearson be supervised by the U.S. Probation Office for 3 years following their release from federal prison and pay $88,376.12 in restitution. U.S. Attorney Myers thanked Assistant United States Attorney Adam Eakman, who prosecuted this case. I
I mailed two Christmas cards that included $50.00 gift cards inside to my Grandchildren i put them in the outside box. My Grandson contacted me to let me know he got his but my Granddaughters didn't arrive. I called the post office and spoke to the rudest women ever oh and she let me know she was the union Stuart i asked to talk to the postmaster i was told he was off today and I was finally given the phone number for him and told not only was he not going to be able to tell me anymore than she had which was basically i need to be patient and worst case scenario is that it may have gotten stuck in the machine and shredded then there is nothing that can be done. I tried to give her my name and number in the event it got torn up because she said if that happens they try to figure out what to do with it very simple i will come get it she was not open to that idea at all. Didn't even take my name. She told me she had talked to me long enough and was going back to work. How sad i bet if if were her granddaughters gift card that was lost, shredded, maybe even stolen just saying! She wouldn't be so patient. I'm still just simply amazed at how RUDE this "Union Stuart " was with me. I am curious how many other people have had problems with this office. Would love to hearing any feedback. Go figure i just got a call back from the same lady i spoke to earlier and she actually contacted the mail carrier and said just wanted to let me know it will be delivered today. That's all i was wanting her to do was just put a little effort into helping me find out what did happen. So i thank her my granddaughter will be very happy now she can go shopping
So this happens today when I went to this post office….a note stating: “out to lunch” with NO specific time frame when whomever will return for the convenience of the customers!!!! This is flat out disrespectful to the customers, VERY unprofessional and rude in my opinions…..it is wasting peoples time, and gas which whoever “management” is don’t seem to care about!!!! I met a man that had been sitting in there lobby LITTERLY going on 2 HOURS for them to open back up because he had some very important mail he’s been looking for and business to take care of..….I was there no where near as long as he was but I ended up leaving after he said how long he had been waiting and no one STILL returned while I was there!!! Dear MANAGEMENT!!! Next time when going “out to lunch” please take into consideration that you all have elderly customers who come in there as well as disabled, as well as people who catch rides there with someone or bus/Uber……put a RETURN TIME and RETURN at that time would be great!!!! Not to mention, your customers hafting to go to another post office inconveniencing them!!!! VIEWERS beware of this UNPROFESSIONAL note when considering going here to save time and gas….I have NEVER seen such as long as I been going there but first time for everything and thee worst!!!!
The absolute most HORRIBLE branch I have ever had the misfortune to have as my post office branch. I ship packages weekly and 2 out of 4 times, the carrier neglects to pick them up. Then he posts that the package was picked up even though its a lie. I have called and complained repeatedly and they are very nice on the phone and then the same problem arises again over and over. This is my 4th or 5th carrier. I loved my first carrier and second and rarely had an issue with the 3rd. I always remember my Carriers at Xmas, and leave little treats in the mailbox. I've talked to this carrier to see if it is something I've done, but to no avail. My pick up requests continue to be ignored. I guess the next thing is to write a letter to Postmaster General. I give them so much business that I don't understand and guess I'll have to start using UPS. And they wonder why people are not using the post office! I see all the positive remarks, but have a feeling that as they are anonymous, they are just postal workers posting repeatedly. How sad :(
I walked in to send a package to my nephew. Denise greeted me promptly when I walked in the door. She was so helpful in finding me the right package in which to send. She even saved me $6 for I went up in the line with a less accommodating ready to go package. She then pulled out a 'no rip' envelope as she described the feature of she pulled the envelope tight, to show how sturdy and un-rip-able it was. Denise did that so hard it almost startled me, but she definitely sold it to me. Denise wasn't only nice to me, but to everyone. It almost seemed like she knew some of the people helped before me, making small talk as if she listened to them before and remembered who they were, or what they did. Denise brings a real neighborhood-like presence to the post office. I wasn't helped by the other lady working, but she seemed very friendly and helpful as well. Anyway, I was in and out, and my needs were met superbly. Thanks Denise! Great Job!
The rumors are true. Compared to a regular post office (even one of those you might find in a small town) these folks were knowledgeable and kind. Apparently when I addressed a box I was sending, I had the TO and FROM field in bad positions. I hadn't realized it really mattered as much on a box as it did on a letter, but *without condescending* they informed me I should flip the box over and rewrite the fields again, with the positions different and ex out the other side. Though I'd brought one with me, they even asked if I needed a marker for it. I feel silly writing this, because you'd think all of these things I described might come standard, but they don't. Atleast for someone who seems to always need a little extra help when I send something, as it's so rare for me to do and I forget the rules or the names of different services have changed or become nuanced.
Worst post office I've ever dealt with ever did not put my mail in my PO box for a month until I filed a complaint I have taken no credit for doing it is absolutely the worst service I have ever had and I have lived all over the us all they would say was fill out a change of address form which is not necessary when you give them your correct address turns out they had not put me in the system for over a month and we're not putting my very important mail in the Box even though I had repeatedly told them I was not getting any mail until I filed a formal complaint I've already put this up once before and for some reason it's been taken down
mail was left at the people house next door found my mail in the screen door , I checked mail box and there was no mail friday and no it was delivered because my one neighbor got his out so you must have left it in wrong box this was about 8 pieces of mail if you can not see buy some glasses I no this could have not been the reg mail man called my neighbor to see if it was left and there box since it was in screen she said no it was one the other side she said mail been running very strange every since xmas around this area there no since in this hope our reg carrier back soon
Nice place, pretty polite workers. I usually go to USPS all the time for ebay stuff. Brought a package to this location, asked if I could purchase a label and get it sent, the worker told me that I had to have it "ready", and come back later. It WAS "ready", it just needed a label. Every USPS I've been to they help me even if all I bring in is a blank box, so I was surprised. I probably should have been slightly more prepared, but I was caught off by how rude the situation turned. Just gonna use UPS from now on, I wouldn't recommend using this location.
I've been using this Post office for years and found the workers to be super helpful. Never any major problems. I've had PO Boxes with no issues. When I've moved, and had to have mail transferred all was done as stated.I did my part, they did theirs. When I've had a problem, it was settled in a professional manner. I hope it will always be there for we that need something close to our area. So very needed. Thank you USPS for this post office.
Employee NIta is absolutely an embarrassment to the USPS. She drinks Pepsi instead of waiting on customers. She also will move a customer to the side to assist her friends in line. When trying to explain why a customer wasn't getting mail she had to start over three times. Agents like her are why the Postal Service is in trouble
Linda must've been having a bad day. Wouldn't smile or make any eye contact. Cut me off when trying to explain the mailing address. Threw my packages around on the weighing scale, and complained loudly about the temperature to other employees. Very unprofessional and rude.
Friday at 1p.m. and no one to answer the phone... customer service here is super lacking. After calling 3 times.... finally got an answer a bit after 1:15 to a rude employee that likes to yell on the phone.
The mailman for my sister's house is an amazing man! he talked with my son With TBI while we were visiting and was so sweet and kind...He made him feel wonderful! God bless him
USPS charges way to much for shipping. They wanted to charge me 42 dollars for a package. I sent the same package, to the same place for only 18 dollars threw UPS..
I like this office. The nice lady that works at the desk she remembers me, not by name but by face. She is always nice and polite to me. And is always helpful.
Had a phone delivered to my house was stolen by post-man seriously?!?! Making phone call im the morning to see what they will do doubt anything smh
Just want to say Thank you to the supervisor that took the time on her way home today to personally deliver my package that got left behind!
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I've only had to go to this post office a few times, but it has always been quick and painless.
I just wish that they have 24 hours service for the lobby so that you could check your PO BOX at all times like the other post offices.
I've always had a quick easy visits at this post office! Very friendly postal workers! I also love the old school interior vibe.
This place is full of thieves. Had money orders stolen from here. Still waiting on the “process” Haven’t received mail in week.
Popped in to mail a letter and left smiling! What great customer service and it wasn’t too busy. What a pleasant surprise!
The mail does not come on Fridays or Saturdays either so they just joined Sundays and holidays
Don't waste your time and go there after work hours...Doors are closed for self service...
Counter Workers at this location are rude and don't do the job respectfully..
These guys have always done right by me. I have nothing bad to say at all.
