I DO NOT recommend buying their digital textbooks: It's not clear when you buy the activation card, but you're only renting access to the PDF text, you can't even Ctrl+F through it the way they are set up. Update (Fall 2018): Service seems to have deteriorated I've had issues with the cashiers overcharging me (they do fix it if you go to customer service - but only if you notice and make them sort it out) and they seem to have implemented an new policy where they don't let you look at the books to decide if you want to buy them / take that course. Very disappointing - hopefully they'll get back on track. Original Post: The store carries a large range of products besides books that you're likely to need on campus. You do pay a bit of a premium for location and convenience on some things. However, supply packages for specific classes (like kits for art classes) are much cheaper than getting the same materials elsewhere.
Came to buy books for courses I’m taking online. Bookstore is vast. Lots of staff to assist you in finding the books you need. They have all sorts of cool stuff there. Supplies for art projects, journals and pens... they sell electronics. They have a regular section for novels and things. Campus related items as well. I mean prices are expensive but comparable to other college and university bookstores. And they have neat little gadgets you can’t find elsewhere. I’m a nurse and found some cute little funny pins and some supplies I needed for work. Clean. Modern.
Unfortunate location of being in a basement, but is a nice looking store. Staff are very helpful but waste no time. Has art supplies, expensive notebook stuff, as well as hoodies (books are a given). My tip would be go get your books three weeks before school starts so you can get the cheaper 25% off used books for some classes. You can't return them but 25% means a lot when you're buying 150$ books. Starbucks found inside the store. Nice store, but has stock issues and most items (excluding books) are very expensive.
Knowledgeable staff and great product mix on campus! Service is very good. Yes, textbook prices are high (as they are everywhere) but e-book, rental and buyback options make it more affordable. Pro tip: In a hurry? Use their online store to order e-book versions of your textbooks that you can start using right away. Not every text is available in digital form but it's worth a look.
really great one stop shop for students. they have everything from school supplies, textbook, lab equipment, art supplies, clothing and bags even home decor and snacks. very open, lots of isles but they're short enough to see over so not too overwhelming. cashiers are very friendly but might have to look around for a sale associate.
Top quality control for the hoodies and pants. I have shopped here for several months now and I can guarantee you won't be disappointed. I don't think I will ever change to a different place to get my hoodies from, and looking forward to the 16th 25% off everything in store I'm coming prepared …
I love this bookstore so much, even more so than Chapter's, and that's saying a lot because Chapter's is wonderful. They don't have a huge selection of fictional literature (mostly because it is a university bookstore) but that's ok because I love my university and I love my bookstore so I'll be biased.
The service is amazing, from art supplies to textbook floor clerks to cashiers. Everyone is friendly and understand the student's needs. New books purchases, used books buybacks and book rentals along with stationery, UofM hoodies, backpacks, tees, basically everything a student needs.
Compared to my last university, they make the process of getting books and supplies much easier for sponsored students. I was able to do it online and in person with ease. I was also able to do it well into the semester. Everyone was so nice! Thank u UofM <3
They offered to by back my textbook which I bought for 80 dollars for 0.75 cents. It's far better to go online for your textbooks that to buy them here, their markup is outrageous. They do sell the campus clothing which is pretty good.
Always a good experience at the bookstore, every single staff member I've talked to was very helpful and accommodating. There's plenty of sales that come up at certain times throughout the terms, so be on the lookout for those!!
Decent size bookstore with all you need for classes. They do buy back books that you bought from them, at a massive discount, so try and sell them online first and use the bookstore as a last resort or your bottom price.
There are always out of books and you might have to wait weeks to get one. You are better off buying used textbooks from users on Kijiji and buying the assess code online if you wish to be up to date with your course
Can get very busy at the start of the term but the staff are always very friendly. A lot of supplies can be found here along with a good selection to art supplies. Conveniently located as well in university centre.
Best prices for what they carry. Wish they carried a bit more in the art supplies, like the water cleanable oil paints, but they usually have the best prices and when there is a sale then they can't be beat.
Lots of stuff. Not only textbooks and pens, but art supplies, food, clothing, tech stuff. Really good one stop shop for all students needs. Prices are pretty good too, often sales going on.
You university supplies they got it, you need U of M merch they got that too. They alsk have lots of casual reading books and an abundance of other interesting and rotating stock
Everything is expensive, even the office supplies. Textbooks are sometimes not there when you need them for a class, but great place to get the book id number to shop on Amazon
Only bad during the first week of fall or winter semester when it gets crowded and the lines are long to make purchases. Other than that it has anything a student might need.
Good selection, but check Kijiji and Amazon first. Great place if you need your books now instead of waiting. Careful...Some profs add books that you don't really need.
Great merchandise and sizes for clothing and prices affordable. The sales woman was an excellent help and I appreciated her assistance with my father. Thanks again
Overpriced and often super crowed. I've walked around for over 30 mins and still haven't been assisted. Most textbooks are 30%-300% marked up compared to Amazon
Everything academic and more, you need, its here! I personally love the sweats and collection of books here. Tip: Books sell fast, make sure you buy them asap
Great bookstore - staff goes above and beyond and all you would need for university classes are located in that one place. I even get Xmas gifts here …
The bookstore is in a convenient location and has a bunch of useful supplies for students and staff. Don't expect amazing prices, but the quality is great.
Usually has what you need, but staff could use more training to be knowledgeable about products that are being sold and how customers can access them
Friendly cashier, wait line is long when school first open. So definitely advise to go during 3rd and 4th week. Can stay in line for almost 30 mins.
All you need to go one stop shop, from customized hoodies for students to books, utilities and items for education. Satisfactory for art supplies.
Tons of staff you need for study. Pretty quiet, no pressure from stuff, though they are available if you need them. Could spend half a day there))
Excellent service, location and products. It is a little expensive but it’s a perfect option to found everything you want for the university !
Staff are usually super friendly, amazing at helping with anything you need. And apparently wont judge you if your credit cards get declined.
I graduated here. Totally recommend this University. I love how there are lots of international students. Makes the diversity very beautiful!
they have the required books, but prices are expensive and if you don't know the right time to show you can be stuck in line for hours.
Has all of the needs for your university classes. I would recommend buying supplies elsewhere if possible as the prices are quite hefty.
Good for if you need to get something on campus right away. But if you can wait, then get the textbooks from Amazon, it's ALOT cheaper
Great staff. Awesome selection of all kinds of things you need in university life. But the staff make the store great, very helpful.
Amazing staff. Everything you could possibly need and even some things you didn't know you needed. Great gift ware selection too!
Really nice place to visit and get university branded clothing, cups, pens. Wide selection of stationery and books available.
Expensive but they're really helpful finding textbooks. Some books have been slow coming in so call them first.
Love it. The staff very helpful. They exceed expectations when you ask for help. Glad my son is loving it too.
they have everything you need. But everything is so damn expensive. staff is very helpful and knowledgeable.
Clark the clerk at the UofM Bookstore was a Super helpful dude, that provided exceptional customer service!
Staff are mostly grumpy. Selection for Bison gear is sparse. I wish we had more pride in our sports teams.
Except you really need a new book , get a used one from Kijiji. The stationery have decent prices though.
Service is great, people are friendly, but the books are way too damn expensive. #used #books #for #life
Expensive products and not very helpful staff. Good for Text books but only if they have them in stock.
A bit expensive actually but the store is filled with essentials and more. The staff is really helpful.
Come and visit the beautiful place in Canada and get the chance to feel a different fun loving place.
Best bookstore for students of the U of Manitoba! (Even though the price of book is really high)
Typical university book store, besides textbooks, there are computers, hoodies and sourvenirs.
Mostly everything is available which is required for a student including dresses, books, glasses
I love how organize this bookstore is. There’s Starbucks too. Their staff are so friendly :)
Overpriced textbooks and school supplies... so basically your standard university bookstore
A very calm and friendly place, the staff is always ready help you find whatever you need.
Place to buy stationary, apparel's and some other necessary things within University area.
Very helpful finding books and there are a lot of selections. A little overpriced though.
Super expensive, but it has all kinds of interesting toys and text books that we need...
Good selection and products. Pretty easy to get textbooks picked up in store or online.
Really great selection of everything you expect and lots of unexpected novelty items!
Wonderful presentation, things are very easy to find, helpful and friendly employees.
You can get all the supplys here. Books, pens, paper pad, computers, you name it....
The staff were very helpful and helped me figure out some isbn typos in my book list
A little expensive, but convenient when you need something ( stationary, tools etc.)
I didn't find the book i was looking for but the library is really nice and quiet.
Love the place. You don't only get book, you can also get other personal supplies.
there is bunch of lockers just by the entrance so u can wander around hands free!
Good bookstore a little bit expensive but you can get a lot of supplies in there.
It has good collection if stationary, books and cloths in a well organized way.
Good place to buy reactionaries and also many other essential items are there.
They've got everything you need from a bookstore, can be overpriced sometimes.
Loads of textbooks as well as some exam prep books and u of m memorabilia
It's pricy but good service and you can find everything you need there.
Except the books don't buy anything. Because, all are really expensive.
You can find everything, the only down side is the waiting line at end
Books books and more books. Exactly what you want from a bookstore lol
Everything you can possibly need-in terms of school can be found here
Diverse and has about everything a student needs for their schooling.
Its a really nice place but its busy most of the time. Long lines
All the books you need for school is there and stationary needs.
Very good place but terrible luck with scratch lottery in there
I got the books I wanted easily. The store staffs were helpful
Nice bookstore Wide range of selection and nice u of m T-shirt
Expensive, if you have time to find your books elsewhere do so
Serious staff but helpful. Staff didn't smile or joke around.
Great selection of apparel, supplies and of course, books.
Great staff and bookstore. You can found whatever you need
Overpriced things, just head over to Staples my people xD
Expensive but worth every cent for good quality products
Decoration is beautiful and there is a Starbucks beside!
Anything we want about study we can find it over there
Lines are always crazy but they're still fairly quick
Best place on campus to get what you need for school.
If you ever looking for Batteries they have them here
Have enough novels to keep you locked in for ever
Packed with people, need more seating for guests
Well organized. Helpful staff. Books are pricy.
Friendly service, lots of selection of products
Great people excellent ambience cool all around
