Wildly overpriced, misinformed staff, and intrusive with their marketing efforts. I brought two kittens to this location for their first ever check-up and initial vaccinations yesterday, but will never go back. While they were being examined, I was being sold on a number of costly extra precautionary tests and procedures. While they were being vaccinated, I was being sold on an annual CareClub package "deal" to cover their future spay surgery, vaccines, tests, and deworming procedures. Deals, deals, deals! I was presented with a cost sheet showing that the package would cost approx. $750 per cat, as opposed to the $1100+ total if I paid for the services individually. I'm not interested in subjecting our pets to the excessive vaccinations and procedures, but figured it was worth it just for the spaying and mandatory vaccines alone, so signed up on the spot. This morning, I received two receipts via email for more than double the amount they had quoted me for the plan. Assuming they'd made an error and double-charged my account, I called the office and left a voicemail, but no one returned my call. I called the plan provider and they told me that the charges were correct, that my plan would cost more than double what I'd been quoted, and any changes would have to be taken up with the vet themselves. When I called the vet again, they explained that I had signed up for the plan that included the spay surgery, which was why the cost was doubled. When I clarified that I had been clearly assured in person that the spay was part of the plan I was offered, and the only reason I enrolled, they apologized for the "mixup." When I asked how a spay surgery alone could double the cost of a year's worth of treatment, they explained that the spay surgery on its own is over $1200 for a single kitten! That is 10x the price at the SPCA/Human Society and 3x or 4x any other vet/spay & neutering facility I've spoken with today. When I asked them how they justify such a price, they explained that their price includes blood work and after-care, which the others may not... There is no logical combination of kitten blood work and paw-cradling valued at over $1000. Since I insisted on canceling my plan, they agreed to apply the excessive amounts I'd already been charged by the CareClub to my account, but the initial visit still cost $653 since their vaccine prices are also more than other vets. In the 24 hours since our visit, I have received 8 marketing emails from the vet office itself, their affiliated and well-promoted insurance provider, and the CareClub, not to mention another half-dozen text messages. Unsubscribed from all and will never return.
I've unsubscribed from all emails multiple times and I have also informed Bell's Corners Animal Hospital that I returned to my previous veterinarian and to stop sending spam mail and emails, yet I still get emails and the new tenants still get my notices in their mail. I find the blatant consistent disrespect of these requests unbelievable. It's bad enough that the vet did NOT review my dog's vaccination or medical history and I was forced to pay for unnecessary additional vaccinations for my dog with no compensation despite being told that the vet would "double check the provided papers and only give him what needed updates" since he had multi-year vaccinations. Nor was I impressed when he was double vaccinated by two sets of nurses who then "lost" my dog, completely unaware that after 35 minutes of him waiting in the back for a "quick shot", only to be brought out after the third time asking where my dog was to be told they just provided the vaccine and he was given his vaccine on one side and was excellently behaved (despite being a terrified, quivering mess scrambling back to me and hiding), followed by a separate nurse later exiting the back room (while I was still waiting to pay) asking the front desk if they "knew where [my dog] went because they can't find him now", then when they said they weren't sure and I spoke up and said he was with me, they informed me they had given his shot when he was first brought back, on the opposite side that the first two nurses said, but then were needed elsewhere, but they saw that he was found and returned to the right person". What the actual [heck]??? And he was sore on both sides-- they absolutely double dosed him with the same vaccine on both sides. Clearly our pets' and even their clients' best interests are not their top priority. Two appointments in a row where there were very questionable practices (what if his papers had said he had a severe allergy and the first vet did not even bother look through them?) were more than enough. Never again. Always ask questions. Not to mention during Covid they gave me a vet appointment time to pick something up and I waited outside on hold for over an hour, at the specified time, only to be hung up on, and upon calling back they went on lunch. So instead of just finishing up with a two second drop-off hung up. I had to go back three different times on three different days before they were "able" to give it to me. Even though I said I'm just there to pick something up for my dog, it's already paid for. Already-paid-for must be code for "we got your money? Cool, we don't care anymore".
I called to book what I thought was a routine appointment for my cat, I was recommended to an emergency vet because my cat could have a potential urinary blockage. I brought him into emerg right away and 2 days later was diagnosed with urinary crystals after finding blood and crystals in his urine. I was referred back to my vet (BCAH) where they were to get the medication and food we needed. They said they would call me back soon to confirm, even though the lady on the phone was quite short with me I waited and didn’t call anyone else. 5 hours later I decided to call back as they were closing soon and I still hadn’t heard from them. They hadn’t filled my EMERGENCY prescription yet and didn’t have the medicated food I needed in stock. Because they took all day to get back to me I couldn’t go anywhere else to get the food (besides a 24/7 clinic in Gloucester). So disappointed as I’ve been a loyal customer for years. What was supposed to be treated like an emergency was not treated with urgency. If I didn’t call back I wouldn’t have gotten the medication my cat needed for who knows how long. RIP to the BCAH I used to know. PS: NEVER bring your small pets here, they killed my rat when one of their vets tried to pop an abscess on my rat like a zit. He immediately had an aggressive seizure and had to be put down.
During the time that I was bringing my cat to be seen by them, they always would be great to fit her in right away if she was having any health issues. My last visit was a very traumatic day when I was faced with the choice of trying to make a decision whether I wanted to continue with the meds she was on but a higher dosage, more blood work in a couple of weeks to check if it was helping or had we reached the point where I admit it was time for me to say goodbye. The veterinarian was very patient and understanding. The staff at the front desk came in and sat on the floor beside me to go over everything with me and she even offered to bring the debit machine into the room so that I would be able to take my time after the euthanasia and then just leave when I was ready. Definitely a very caring place to help me make a decision while my heart was
Fantastic clinic! I only went there once to put my sweet Pepper to sleep due to a mammary tumour that couldn't be removed because of old age. Only clinic in Ottawa that humanely euthanizes rats by using Iso gas where as others just put a needle directly into the heart or stomach with no sedation. I knew she was in the perfect hands with them. They handled everything smoothly and made me feel welcomed. They even gave me an estimate and I was able to pay over email so that it was a quick in and out situation. I myself work in a veterinary clinic across town but I think this clinic is 100% better and I will certainly be bringing my pet here from now on, especially for someone who has a crazy amount of pocket pets like myself. R.I.P Pepper, I miss you and love you and I know you were in the right hands in the bitter end
The staff at this clinic are amazing! I was in the worst situation having a 19 year old cat whose health was failing and had made the decision that it was time to end her suffering, I called CVA and even though they were extremely busy they made the time to see me and my cat. The care and compassion the whole staff showed was amazing and helped so much in getting through this very difficult time. Dr Beech was excellent at explaining the process and what was going to happen and when and it was very obvious her main goal was to make it as easy and painless for my cat and myself. Dr Beech and the staff made this very difficult day a little easier by showing compassion and patience and most of all making sure my little girl passed painlessly and peacefully. Thank you to all the staff at CVA, you are amazing people!
They’re fine if you feed your pet kibble. God forbid you feed them raw. I called today about making my appointment for my dogs ears as I think he has an ear infection - and I was lectured about elimination diets with their hypoallergenic kibble, when I mentioned we’d been doing elimination diets with raw and that I’m pretty sure he just got into something or has an infection the person I spoke to on the phone immediately belittled me about how “no one recommends raw” and how “I have the right to feed my dog what I want but I should do a proper elimination diet for “the dog” (her words) because “raw certainly won’t do it” - I’ve done my research, my dog does better on raw and I’m sorry but you just lost a customer. I’m taking my dog to a vet clinic who won’t belittle me for my choices.
If you actually love your pet, don’t bring them here. They repeatedly gave me the wrong dose for my bunny’s antibiotics and the vetenarian was awkward and not very knowledgeable. I feel as if that caused my bunny to have an antibiotic tolerance in which he never got better from. They can’t even clip nails, they made HALF of my bunny’s nails bleed AND THEY ARE WHITE NAILS. C’mon, you want to trust them with you pet? I know someone who also has a horrible terrifying experience so I know I’m not the only one. I hope this helps at least one person pick a better suited vet clinic.
We have been going here for 6 months now, so I feel like I can give a decent review. These people genuinely CARE about your pets. We have received amazing care from everyone. The ladies at the front desk, the VAs, the techs, and the vets that we have interacted with have all been phenomenal. In the 6 months that we have been with them, we have gone through everything from routine health care (aka my dog is fat, and on a diet now ), vaccinations, nail trims, and them saving one pet's life. Their health care plan makes routine veterinary care very affordable, too.
We drive 45 minutes just to take our rescue senior dog there. Dr. Beach is absolutely fantastic and so far they have been excellent about squeezing us in when we have an emergency. The techs are so incredible that they can clip my dog's mostly black nails in under five minutes and he's so distracted by the wet food that he doesn't even notice (he comes out with his tail wagging). Dr. Beach alerted us to the benefits of the senior care payment plan and that has allowed us to take advantage of all their services to allow our baby to live his golden years to the max.
The Veterinarians here truly care about your pet! The facility is beautifully clean and set up nicely. They explain administering of medications clearly. They also offer a program for those who find the costs difficult to pay in full. For a monthly fee, your pet has consistent care without the worry of huge payments each visit. I would encourage anyone to pay them a visit and see for yourself!
Cannot say enough hood things about this place. Very professional and caring staff. They took wonderful care of my dog Montie since we moved to Ottawa. When the time unfortunately came for us to say good-bye to my sweet boy, the staff showed us true compassion and empathy. I will always miss my Montie, but when the time comes for another dog I will be returning to them without hesitation.
I cannot say enough about the level of care attention we feel when trusting our little ones to VCA Bells Corners hospital. Specific shoutout for Dr. Beach who goes above and beyond. Dr. Beach cares, so much, and continues time and again to offer a level of outreach, compassion and attention surpassed by none. Thank you VCA BC and Dr. Beach for all you've done.
The staff is knowledgeable and friendly. We bring our rabbits and cats here, and have had nothing but good experiences. Everyone is patient with our more nervous animals. They also seem flexible with scheduling appointments - I was able to bring one of our rabbits in on very short notice when he wasn't feeling well and they offer evening appointments.
The amount of times that they have forgotten something around a surgery for my dogs is wild. With last minute blood work and forms to fill out. Plus when we get their nails done there, they usually only snip 70% of the nails. It seems like the front desk staff and the vets have poor communication and can’t seem to get anything straight.
I cannot say enough about the care we receive at the Bells corners Animal hospital, they are like family. Each and every vet and employee has gone above and beyond for us. We have a difficult dog and for the past 6 years they have handled him with love and respect. I really don’t know what we would do without them. Highly recommend.
This location has been amazing with all of my pets through the years. Everyone there is helpful, gentle, kind, and knowledgeable and you can tell they all really love animals. They helped me in the most gentle way through the death of my 17 year old kitty, and welcomed my two kittens later on when I was ready. They are so great.
Thank you for taking such good care of my darling little boy. All of the employees are attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable. It was hard for me to leave Henry during his neutering surgery, I wanted to hold his little paw during the whole thing, but I knew that I was leaving him in capable hands! Henry says thank you too!
Placed a food order for my dog, and was told it would be ready for a few days from the initial order date. Called back on the day and they mentioned it would be there tomorrow and I would be contacted. It's been a week and nothing. Why lie about it? We had to grab an emergency supply because of the shoddy communication.
They don't care if you book in advance. They don't care about your animals. Especially if you don't agree to wear a mask. so if my dog NEEDS a shot he can't get it unless I put an untested mask on filled with ungodly chemicals? What a joke they should arrested especially if you have an exemption. #supportlocal
This Vet could use some more training or just better staff.. While the vet was correct, that the mass my cat had, was indeed there and cancer.. She could of worded things better, and explained things much better. I'm not sure I would ever come back here tbh. It's hard to find a vet you trust.
Amazing service, they genuinely care about your pets well being over making a profit which is a breath of fresh air. Our puppy had a tick on her and they removed it for us within 3-5 minutes with no charge and provided us with the next steps for our puppy after the tick bite.
I cannot speak highly enough about this clinic. The doctors are amazing and professional. They will take the extra minute to explain things properly. The admin staff are awesome, whether it's check in calls or sending helpful articles, they are always super friendly.
This vet is excellent . All the doctors are amazing to my dogs they treat them like family . Vet tech Jamie is simply amazing with my high anxiety dog Jax she is gentle, compassionate and understanding for Jax . Couldn't ask for a better vet simply amazing ❤
The most amazing staff and vets! We are frequent flyers and everytime we leave we feel so grateful and impressed with the level of care and compassion shown. We couldn't ask for better care for our Frenchie Klauss. Dr Beach is the best :)
incredibly kind staff, my cat passed away via euthanasia at this office and the before, during, and after care the staff has provided has been beyond customer service and has been so compassionate, very grateful to this staff!
Able to get an appointment for nail trimming quickly. January trims benefited the Australian wildlife relief effort. Professional, courteous and enthusiastic staff. Very comfortable bringing our pet here.

Amazing knowledgeable caring staff. Trust our pooch being looked after there. I would 1000% reccomend getting the pet insurance through them. It makes such a huge difference for pet emergencies ❤
I got an incredibly fast reply for my little kitten, Alyssa has amazing customer service skills. I haven’t even stepped foot into the establishment and can already tell we will be in good hands!
Clean and quiet and taking all available precautions during COVID-19. My anxious dog loves that there is no one in the waiting room when we arrive and that we are shown to a room right away.
We recently had to put down one of our cats. The staff were super professional and compassionate. My daughter and I were both touched when we received a sympathy card in the mail.
Excellent service! My dog had surgery in this clinic ,and I want to tell "Thanks a lot" for all staff ! My 3 years old Rottweiler ( girl) survived and doing well now.
