03/30/2019 BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE thru phone. If the customer trying to order something and it’s not available better to talk and explain that you guys don’t have it and let the customer finish what they’re saying. But from what happened the lady hang up on me while I’m still talking! Thanks a lot for that. Customer service isn’t only in person but using phone too. If you’re not trained with that better not answer the phone and let the manager answer it.
Finally found this inside the Seafood Supermarket, next to the Meat Dept. We wanted to buy so many kinds of bread and treats. Luckily, we went after 3pm and some items were already in happy hour sale. We added Okoy and Turon to our already full basket! We also got a 6-pack of siopao.
Grew up on Valerio's pan de sol bread, since they were the only Filipino bakery in town. Now they can be found throughout SoCal and other areas. First time to visit this store. Aside from fresh baked bread items, they also offer traditional Filipino entries to go.
Whenever we come to San Diego, we have to get the Pork Siopao here. It reminds me of my Lola's Asado :) THE BEST. The funny thing is we have a Valerio's at the Chicago Seafood City and it just doesn't taste the same ;) Freshly bagged Siopao still STEAMING!!!!
So I normally would not even bother writing a review unless the food is terrible. Bought a pandesal(ube) and it waste like garbage.. Their regular pandesal is average but the rest of it is just trash... Also could work on the costumer service.
We bought this bread a week ago and it already has mold. Mind explaining why this is so? Most bread we buy from other filipino bake shops, like San Jose, last a good time. This one wasn’t even opened yet but already has mold.
I picked up 3 boxes of an “all-time favorite” cheese balls for an office potluck, they didn’t increase the price but the cheese was just a pinch. …
The siopao weren’t that good and they are so cheap by providing only tiny little sauce for half a dozen. Chowking is much better
99% of the time - GREAT! Today the lady said she didn't know how to use the microwave to warm up the pork siopao I purchased.
Good prices. Occasional bone fragments in pork rolls.
Inside seafood city, in the back-right corner.
Becoming pricey, too.
