Lovely parklands, especially in the springtime. Lots of walking paths and even when there are other people around, it never feels too crowded. Lots of ducks and other birds around, and plenty of shady spots to just sit and have a picnic or watch the world go by. it’s great that is right there in the city - You can also usually find a park along south terrace, even during the week, and the south Terrance tram stop is right there at the east end of the gardens. One downside is that some of the rockpools aren’t very well maintained - the water in very low in them and they smell kind of gross.
Veale Gardens is a serene escape nestled in the middle of town. The garden's layout is charming, offering a peaceful retreat from the urban hustle. However, during my visit, it seemed a bit dry, which affected the overall ambiance. The potential for a lush oasis is evident, and I can imagine it being even more enchanting with a bit more attention to watering and maintenance. Nonetheless, it's a lovely spot for a quiet stroll or a moment of reflection in the midst of the city buzz.
Being at the Southern End of Adelaide's CBD and having access by tram Veale Gardens is a delight and a credit to the Adelaide City Council. The diverse plant, bird and duck life is a pleasure to experience as you wander through meandering paths. With two (2) grottos and a stream plus many park benches it's very easy to find your bit of tranquillity heaven. The Rose Garden is an assault on the senses and the statue art work is worthy a viewing.
It is one of the most beautiful gardens I have ever seen. It has a huge space, which is enough for doing family activities like picnic, children games, video shooting, and many more. The most unique feature that surprised me was a free vegetable garden, where anyone can do gardening works as well as get free veggies too. Overall , Veale Garden is best for taking some peaceful break after busy schedules at Adelaide City.
A very scenic place to relax. Located on the South Terrace of the Adelaide CBD. It has a tranquility of its own that instantly gives you the peace of mind. If you want to have some solace after a busy day, it’s the place for you. It can be a family time or all by yourself. A must visit place. Strongly recommended. As a bonus, you have a free parking for 2 hours. So you don’t need to bother for the parking fees.
We stopped here on the way to Glenelg Beach and were glad we did. It’s a beautiful park (one of the many surrounding central Adelaide) and has a network of meandering trails. There’s a little creek that flows through it as well as a really well maintained rose garden. Definitely worth the visit! Would rec combining this with a visit to Himeji Gardens down the road.
A Very salubrious Island of calm bang next to the city. Hear here for that break. In full bloom now, walk amidst the lightly scented rose garden, saunter through the winding walkways, enjoy a bite and a sip sitting near the lazy stream..all in all a beautifully designed and managed space for all..
Such a beautiful open space with lush green grass, man made waterfalls and river throughout the garden. There is also a beautiful display of roses which is the instant attraction. It would be perfect for a picnic or to simply read nice book on the grass enjoying the sounds of nature.
An absolute gem where locals come to relax next to either of the fountains or the artifical river. Many ducks in habit the area and create an even better atmosphere. Just like most of Adelaide's parks, this one is too very very nice. I highly recommend a visit here.
The Pavilion and it's immediate surroundings on the South Terrace side are the perfect place to unwind and discuss tomorrow's work today. Clear mind and of encumbrance, the perfect place to concentrate on what's ahead and not get caught up in things you can't fix!
Bordering the city to the south is a magic strip of gardens even in summer it's lush green grass and streams are easily mistaken for English countryside. And for extra enjoyment are the ducks and numerous other bird breeds to watch to about their daily lives.
Amazing place for an afternoon walk, or just having fun and a good time with friends or family ⛲, you can enjoy the nature, its a peaceful place, you will find some animals too ️ just walking around the park. Totally recomended. …
It’s a very nice place for relaxation and refreshment. I like this beautiful garden. Suitable for families and friends to visit together.
Restrooms
It has a pubic toilet.
Dog-friendliness
It can walk with dogs.
Gorgeous little garden with small flowing creek and rock pools throughout. Rose garden, fountains and statues scattered about and home to ducks who don't appear too phased by people. Nearby toilets. We visited in Autumn.
We enjoyed a bike ride through these beautiful gardens. The lawns are nice and green and there are quite a few paths which lead to different garden beds. Lovely mini water features and lovely rose garden in there.
Calm place for reading and picnic Best place to hang out with couple or family Wheelchair friendly, dogs friendly Close to city Wall through the garden of roses and watch a lots of ducks swimming by the river
Beautiful garden, very close to city. Very colorful with different shades of roses. A perfect place for weekend picnic or small birthday celebration. Roadside parallel parking with 2 hour limit in weekdays.
Such a pretty park, great space and so scenic. Nice spot to walk dogs, have a picnic, go for a run or just enjoy the surroundings. In the city but plenty of parking and feels very quiet and peaceful.
Absolutely beautiful Parklands and great place for a picnic or to take your dog for a walk and the rose garden is delightful and all right on the southern edge of Adelaide's CBD....highly recommended
Nice in the spring and summer with the flowers that bloom at thoes months. Nice walking paths to stroll on. The restaurant seems to be Ok, to be honest never been but like to give it a go one day
A perfect garden. A creek goes through it, bringing a lot of fun. The lawn is beautiful and there are many flowers. Wild ducks, pelicans, Australian white ibis and many other birds live here.
A beautifully landscaped and maintained park right on the edge of the CBD. A great place to relax with family. Lots of friendly ducks. Beautiful rose garden with flowers of various colors.
I can say of all the other gardens I have been this gardens is so far the best landscape it is big and quiet suitable for all, picnics for families couples and solo walk, don't miss this
An amazing location for a wedding. Large trees give plenty of shade for guests. We then walked over to the Pavilion Restaurant for the reception. An elegant venue with fantastic food.
Hidden in the southern end of the CBD, the Veale Gardens are an underrated attraction. The grass is lush and green despite the hot temperatures and the roses are a pleasure to admire.
Great parks. Nice and tidy with bbq, public toilets and other facilities. Beautiful plantation, trees and water. Great for a walk and plenty of benches to relax in cool breeze.
This was the most Beautiful relaxing park i have ever been too! The views are stunning with water features and rose beds and a pond good play equipment too very Beautiful place
Beautifully manicured gardens and rose garden, pleasant all year round. Plenty to explore for both young and old. The water features and fountains are popular attractions.
A really beautiful, peaceful spot, though there are some remediation works on the waterways there currently. The community garden, and rose garden, are both very lovely.
We had a picnic day with the family nice erea someone was getting married there it has changed a lot there was a child birthday but it's changed for the better
Was a gorgeous morning with hardly a soul around. Took our time taking pics of flowers. Plenty of car parking on Sunday mornings Not timed parking.
Beautiful walks with lots of small waterfalls. Easy to park and free. Could use some water stations for dogs though. Otherwise very Beautiful.
Nice parkway with ducks and ducklings, well maintained flowering plants and pathways, an ideal spot to have lunch or a coffee on a sunny day.
Serenity embodied in a shape of a garden bearing trees and flowers for your senses to relish where time stands still and it's you and nature
It's a lovely spot for a picnic with family. The public toilet seems to be a little filthy and stinky. I bet no one's maintaining it well.
Absolutely beautiful. Lovely scenery. Beautiful creek full of ducks. Including ducklings. BBQ area available. Great place to bring kids
What a wonderful area so close to the city with beautifully landscaped areas, creek, water features etc. Absolutely love this space
Roses in full bloom. Peaceful, sat on bench. Must see place. Many, many varieties of roses. Well looked after gardens. Maja …
Very well presented grounds, great place for a mid day walk. Close to the city with space to relax, breath and enjoy the scenery
Visited this area to watch drone racing. Great open space for this activity. Special areas designated for model aero activities.
The gardens are looking a picture at the moment. And the roses! The scent in the still morning air as the day begins to warm!
Perfect spot. Immaculate European gardens, the grass and roses are not sprayed with pesticides. Safe for pets and children.
Not a bad place to have a wander. Lots of open grass, and the rose garden is good. Rest of the gardens are average
Lovely green park with walking trails, ponds, water falls and nice shady trees. Also has a lovely rose garden
Great venue for function with parking. Good good and service. Slightly noisy to talk with band in same room.
It's so pretty and so close to town. If you sit down wind behind a tree you almost don't hear the traffic
Beautiful and peaceful place close to Adelaide CBD to relax and rejuvenate among flowers and greenery.
Amazing experience, beautiful gem of Adelaide, well care gardens and perfect place to walk with kids
Very well maintained garden. Centrally located in Adelaide. Very relaxing to see and walk around.
It is a place which is very close to Adelaide CBD and to spend quality time with nature.
Parking was overflowing, which was a huge disappointment. Everything else was stunning.
A gem of a garden at the heart of the city. Worth the visit if you are a nature lover.
Beautiful quiet place to go and think clear the mind before going home to craziness
