Terrible experience with this VET!!!!!!!!! I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with the recent veterinary services I received from AES and Veterinary Specialist Services. It seems there have been serious issues regarding their billing practices, transparency, and medical recommendations that I feel compelled to bring to your attention. Firstly, I was taken aback by the division of the same location into distinct day and night companies, which led to confusion and unnecessary charges for emergency services. It came to my notice that the same employee operates under both AES and Veterinary Specialist Services, creating a potential conflict of interest. This was further aggravated when the staff strongly urged me to visit another branch of the same company. AES has given my pet an infusion in the morning, my pet didn't look too serious, and then after she transferred to Veterinary specialist services, we were provided an estimated quotation of $2100-$2600 for treatment without any inspection. At the same time, unnecessary infusion services were provided. Since we did not provide any treatment report to us in the end, and we were not allowed to supervise the treatment during the whole process, we did not know whether there was any infusion. Such practices are highly misleading and, in my opinion, take advantage of unsuspecting clients. Moreover, I couldn't help but notice the drastic difference in pricing when they became aware that my pet had insurance. The fees for medicines and examinations were conspicuously inflated compared to other reputable veterinary clinics. The price of the drug provided by Veterinary specialist services has a huge gap with the price of the same drug found on the Internet, which is almost 4 times the price. When I asked for a prescription to buy pet medicine myself, I was refused. This disparity raises concerns about fair pricing practices and the ethical treatment of clients who entrust their pets' well-being to their care. The most distressing part of my experience was the inconsistency in medical recommendations and the handling of my pet's case. I was left bewildered when, after an initial ultrasound and the recommendation for a $5,000 surgery, I opted to transfer to another veterinarian for a second opinion. Surprisingly, Upon deciding to seek a second opinion from another veterinary clinic, an unexpected turn of events took place. It was both surprising and concerning when the new veterinarian immediately conducted an additional ultrasound for my pet. This new ultrasound contradicted the previous diagnosis provided by the initial clinic, leading to an entirely different set of recommendations. The new course of action suggested by the second veterinarian was not to proceed with the initially recommended surgery. Instead, they advised that my pet simply needed to stay at the clinic for observation. This sudden change in diagnosis and the subsequent alteration of the recommended treatment plan left me perplexed and concerned about the accuracy and consistency of the medical advice provided by the original clinic. This sudden shift in perspective, along with a subsequent undisclosed charge of nearly $1,000 for overnight boarding, has left me questioning the integrity of the services provided. In light of these events, it is evident that AES and Veterinary Specialist Services have fallen short of upholding the high standards one expects from reputable veterinary clinics. Transparency, consistent medical advice, and fair pricing are paramount when it comes to the care of beloved pets, and I believe these principles have been disregarded in my case. I hope that this communication brings attention to the issues I've encountered and encourages a reevaluation of the practices at AES and Veterinary Specialist Services. I implore you to address these matters promptly and take the necessary steps to rectify the situation, ensuring that no other pet owner has to go through a similar ordeal. If you have insurance pay attention on your pocket money

No pet owner ever wants to find themselves needing the services of a specialist veterinarian, however when you find yourself in that unfortunate circumstance, you can't do better than VSS. We have required their services for both of our Golden Retrievers. In 2020 it was for our old girl, Milli, who was diagnosed with sarcoma. The Oncology team were professional, empathetic and supportive. They discussed all of the different treatment options and expected outcomes without trying to persuade a decision. They answered all our questions and ultimately supported our decision. Most recently, we have required the expertise of Dr Peter Delisser for a repair of the cruciate ligament in our Lucy. We were referred from our general vet when their mobile specialist wasn't able to operate until August 8th - which was way too far away to even consider. We got a next day appointment at VSS and just in case, I fasted her - and lucky I did as she was operated on same day! Dr Delisser was super thorough at explaining the TPLO procedure including the risks, expected outcomes, recovery and rehabilitation process and follow up care. He treated Lucy with love and compassion which made us feel at ease knowing she would be in good hands. VSS sent a text message when the procedure was commenced and Dr Delisser called at completion to update us. On discharge, Dr Delisser went through the discharge notes which included intraoperative images, before/after xrays and even QR codes to videos for post-operative care. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn that, just like in humans, they use nerve blocks and can provide Fentanyl patches for analgesia. I'm not sure what else I was expecting but it was lovely to know that pain management was a priority after such an invasive procedure. The reception staff were even able to process our Medibank claim for us in clinic which meant we only had to pay the out of pocket expense, not the full fee and then claim. We are so grateful to the VSS team for their care of Lucy so far and feel confident that she has been given the best chance of making a full recovery. Thank you to the whole team for all your love and care. I couldn't see it in the discharge notes but I'm sure lots of pats and belly rubs were a post-op order ;)

I wanted to Leave a Review with 5 Stars for VSS to say thankyou for saving Luna's Life & The wonderful service we recieved for not only our little Lunatic who got a rare disease called cryptocroccus but a Thankyou for the way we were treated. A special shout out for the Vet Josh, who went above & and beyond to the wonderful Vet Nurses like Briska and my favourite receptionist of all : Emm who was a breath of fresh air who I developed a wonderful rapport with over the extensive time Luna required the Amazing Specialist Care she recieved. I've attached some photos of our Luna & even one with Emm, the receptionist. I hope I spelt everyone's name right. You were all amazing, and Luna is alive and fat because of your professional, caring service & dedication, she is our family, and because of you, our family is still intact, 1000 thankyou's . The team at VSS Jindalee took amazing care of our bulldog Percy for his surgery to address obstructive airways. Dr Moses and the team of vet nurses were so loving towards our boy, they gave us lots of updates over the phone (after assessment/before surgery, after surgery, after moving out of recovery, and then again at the end of the day) and were more than happy to chat with us over the phone several times about our concerns when our boy was lethargic and nauseous when he came home. They even sent us this photo of Percy on the evening of his surgery, which was so considerate. We couldn't be happier with the expertise and service, knowing Percy was in great hands, and are so grateful to the team for improving our boy's quality of life. I would 100% recommend this team for excellent care of your fur-baby if they do need specialist veterinary care.

The staff at VSS Jindalee were amazing, from being greeted by the bubbly Emily on reception to the specialist team of Dr Vicki Liddle and Jalal. They were both so good in explaining exactly what was wrong with my girls eye and how they were going to fix it. I walked in expecting her to loose her eye, but the team went straight into surgery, operated while I waited, then released her a few hours later. I cannot give enough praise or thanks to them and their team, and would highly recommend them, the care and love they have for their job is very evident. I couldn’t have wished for a better outcome and certainly wouldn’t hesitate in taking my girls there if specialist treatment was required. Thank you so very much.

We can’t thank the staff enough for the care we have received for our dog Ruby. She had a 4 night / 5 day stay - the love, support and care for her (and us) that was provided is nothing short of exceptional. The reception staff, nursing team and the knowledgeable dedicated vets took action when we needed it the most. They constantly updated us via phone, we could visit Ruby as much as we liked, everything was explained to us in a way that we could understand. The team organised the animal ambulance service to transport her for additional treatment. We are beyond grateful for the entire team, and we feel so lucky to have access to such wonderful care for our girl.

Took 2 of our cats (Dumbledore and Bumblebee) there recently, both were treated with compassion and professional care. The staff were wonderful. We were going through a difficult time with one our cats being critical and we eventually lost her (Bumblebee) to cancer, they treated us with compassion. The specialists did what they could to help her and my other cat is now also much better as they were quick to act, and change medications where necessary. The three specialists we saw were Dr. Sophie Wyatt, Dr. Josh King and Dr. Peter Barron, all three were very professional and caring towards our cats. Definitely recommend them if your pets need specialist care.

VSS has an amazing team that always strives to help you and your pet be as comfortable as possible! From the receptionists at the front, through to the doctors and nurses at the back. We all know that going to the vet can be an anxious time for both the pet and the parents, but you can be rest assured that VSS will always treat you respectfully and they genuinely care about your pet. I can truthfully say this is the one vet my dog, who has major anxiety, is comfortable enough to be out the back without me(even if it's just for a little while)! If you have any need for a veterinary specialist this is hands down the place to come.

The VSS and AES teams took fantastic care of our cat Kairi. The Animal Emergency Services team quickly diagnosed the cause of her illness and Veterinary Specialist Services team sorted the treatment to give her the best chance of spending as much extra time with us as possible. Sadly she succumb to the lymphoma and passed away. The care given from all vets and nurses was outstanding. I was kept up to date on her progress and love that I could come visit while staying in the hospital for care. I couldn't have asked for anything better. Highly recommended if your little fur baby gets sick they will be in excellent hands

  • Briana Holland

Sadly we have had two extremely sick furrbabies over the last couple of weeks but the staff at Veterinary Specialist Services have make this difficult time easier by going above and beyond in everything they do. We knew our precious cats were in the best hands and were receiving love and affection, not just the medical care they needed. We have been able to visit often to ensure the best outcome for them, keeping their spirits up is an important part of the overall care they provide. Thank you so much for the continuing care of Rosie Mia and Shelby McQue. We will be forever grateful to your team.

A bit of a factory . You don't go in with the dog, they take it, sedate it for easy handling, and look at it themselves, and discuss with you later. Stressful for you and dog.If you can find a vet who doesn't push risky/expensive treatments, when wait and see may be better, it may be kinder on the dog , but rare these days, they are businesses. Our problem cleared quickly with no treatment. I think they find it unusual for insured people not to tick all the possible treatments, I felt pressured. But, clean, efficient, always open, and seemed competent to handle serious emergencies.

VSS have saved my dogs life multiple times and we are very much appreciative of this! Medically Jessie dog is a bit of a complicated case, but VSS have always had the knowledge and expertise to get Jessie back on track with her health and for her to continue to have quality of life. VSS provide follow up check ins as well which has been great and they have delivered on point advice to help me best help Jessie as well. Jessie also seemed to have made friends with all the staff during her most recent visit, very cute :)

Thank you for seeing my little baby, Ivy. I cannot thank you all enough (reception staff included) for showing kindness and compassion throughout something that is quite scary for me (let alone ivy! Except I think she'll be just fine) I would recommend anyone to VSS. I have never had to take an animal in to a specialist before; but i felt at ease straight away. Thank you Dr Vicki, I am not as stressed anymore and I know Ivy is in good hands with everybody. Thank you again - lily & ivy ❤️

I visited your clinic with Brandy last Friday to see Dr Vicki. What can I say? Both me and Brandy had an amazing experience. Starting from the reception staff that were so accommodating, friendly and professional. Nothing was too much for them. Dr Vicki is a great asset to your company. She is treating our pets as her own. She was so gentle with our old Brandy it was beautiful to watch. Very knowledgeable, warm personality and made our visit very enjoyable and put my mind at ease.

Words can't express how grateful I am to Dr Sophie for treating my cat, "Cat Cat". I took my cat to Jindalee VSS for a second opinion as I wasn't satisfied with a previous vet's response "just put him down". Dr Sophie's compassion toward my cat and I, and her dedication to helping animals, has saved my cat's life. My cat, nearly 20 years old, has his quality of life back thanks to Dr Sophie, thank you just doens't seem enough.

I cannot say enough about the team at Jindalee. They knew who we were when we arrived and included Troopa in their greeting. Dr Bec was wonderful. She went through everything on the two procedures before we made up our minds about which one to choose. The whole team was so helpful and caring. Here is our boy ‘resting’ after his big day yesterday. His teeth have been checked today and all looks good.

  • Bryn Lewis

From Emily at the front desk to our wonderful Vet Vicki. The friendliness and professionalism shown to us and every occasion can not be faulted. They gave our Pete back to our family. Not everyone knows how to deal with a 65 kilo Rottweiler who thinks he is tougher than he actually is. They saw through his silliness and gave him his sight back. We can not thank our recommend them enough to others.

  • Felicia Toohill

Dr Peter and the emergency team did a fantastic job with looking after our boy Papi! Couldn’t thank them enough! 100% would recommend bringing your fur kids here for any treatment they can help you with. Pricing is also very reasonable for emergency services over the weekend. Even specialist appointments are a fair price. They also keep you updated throughout the day/night. Thank you so much!

  • Yasmin Morris

Dr Abbie is absolutely amazing. Our little puppy started having bouts of lameness and she left no stone unturned to ensure his health and put our minds at rest. Claiming through pet insurance was simple and the reception team were warm and friendly. I can't thank Abbie enough for looking after our little guy and getting to the bottom of his condition!

  • Lynda Campbell

I travel from Bribie Island to access the professional services from VSS and specifically Dr. Vicki Liddle and her team. As a Samoyed Breeder, I greatly appreciate the level of expertise and care given to my adult dogs and litter puppies when eye health testing is required: ACES and Gonioscopy. Thank you and see you again in the near future.

  • Corkadoll Greenwood

My girl Yoda has been here several times with a complex issue. Everything has always been explained fully, the vets have always followed up to check on her afterwards. All the staff make you feel so welcome and it is nice knowing when you leave your dog during a stressful time that they will be treated so well with care and compassion.

  • Suzanne Bursztynowicz

I took my furbaby to the eye specialist, Vicki. She was friendly, caring, open and honest. Eye surgery would have cost a lot, but she determined my baby had dementia and surgery was not necessary. That is the honesty I like. She gave me some tips and I would recommend any pet/furbaby who may have eye problems to see Vicki.

  • Moana Simpson

The team at VSS have been fantastic at helping manage and support me and Clarry's chronic tummy diagnosis since the beginning of this year. They have been super helpful and knowledgeable with every visit since. Many thanks for taking extra care of Clarry while he was in hospital and missing his Mummy...❤️❤️❤️

  • Morrigan Gray

A very positive experience during a time that was quite distressing. Had such amazing assistance from all of the lovely staff and doctors. A very helpful team from the phone call before arrival, up to the point of helping me lodge my pet insurance claim post consult/treatment. Thank you very much.

  • Katerina P

Dr. Josh King and Dr. Terry King were both very compassionate and caring, I left my Charlie knowing he could not be with a better person to take care of him than Dr. Josh. I felt huge comfort and support from all the staff which I have never experienced with any other Veterinary clinic.

  • Cassie Stallan

This hospital was able to provide care to our French Bulldog straight away. Far more advanced than the general vet. Reasonable with prices and able to provide payment plans, if needed. Thankfully we had some savings put away for emergency situations like this. Keep up the good work.

  • Ashleigh Marriott

The team at VSS are brilliant. We have been going to them for just over a year now and they always greet you with a smile and love to say hello to our pup. They are very patient, kind and willing to help wherever they can. But most importantly understanding and compassionate!

  • Helen
