This is a great place to go at night if you want to catch a free Wheelybin bonfire and get mugged. During the day you can get swarmed by geese and watch the local vagrants go about their busy days doing absolutely nothing useful. I'm kidding, mostly! The library is cute and kids will enjoy the play area. The locks make for a nice scene but there is a lot of construction going on which is eating in to the green space.
Tranquil quiet area, forget you are in the city. Stimulating safe park for the youngsters to play and explore. Lots of seating to have a rest, admire the relaxing sites of the canal, locks, geese and old cotton mill with the high rised buildings of the city in the near distance.
Beautiful park with a huge playground for kids to play, with various rides for them to enjoy. Also a good place for parents to meet up with other parents, family and friends. It's green and natural and is just beside the Rochdale canal which makes it more refreshing.
Lovely little park, fenced and gated. If there is nobody in there I like to take my little dog off her lead and she runs around happily. I do often see small groups of teenagers hanging about but who didn't hang around parks as a teenager!
Came to look around an apartment and was shocked by the contrast between the official agents website interior photo and the bland and budget fittings actually there. Reminded me of cheap student accommodation at a premium price point
Up and coming area ,close to town centre, nice walks by the canal. Lots of new homes offering a family home with city centre on your doorstep. Victoria mill I don't know much about but surrounding area is definitely on the up
Such a beautiful place by the canal that I walk here almost every day. Different species of birds, Canadian Geese, greenery are eye-catching. I will suggest everyone if possible go there, you will like the place for sure.
Try not to go late at night. Lighting can be a bit ominous and the tunnels running through the canal are use by undesirables. But through the day it's a lovely place for families and dog walkers.
We take our little one here for walk all the time. Only issue is when geese are littered across the grass and paths so you need to be careful. Walks around the canal are unbeatable.
Nice Park you do sometimes get idiots riding bikes on grass next to park
Playground
Lots of equipment basketball fenced area
Dog-friendliness
Popular dog walking area
Victoria park is a very nice and serene place for picnics, family day out, jogging, quiet walk and general sporting activities. I recommend Victoria park for everyone.
This is a nice area to relax, located by the canal. My only issue is there needs to be improvements in keeping the area clean and tidy.
Great green grassland just on the edge of Ancoats. Plenty of open space but not a lot of seating. Very relaxing walking by the canal .
Something better than nothing... Not big enough and as the new construction going on less park area than walk way or jogging track.
Nice towpath along canal quiet alternative routes to and from city centre instead of walking on noisy polluted streets
Flat grassy area next to mill and surrounded by residential area. Small playground for children and canal running by.
Could use a few more trees, though I believe the reason for the lack of them are the youth destroying them.
has some brilliant grass , not as good as the grass near me, but nice and green and a few inches in length
Used be good place this area it's since private companies took over not as good lost it's community spirit
Great place for running. Nice surroundings however beware of the geese and their little presents
View from compstall which is a lovely walk and great place to take kids to feed the ducks.
A nice little with a few trees planted now which makes it a nicer area to walk through.
Great park for toddlers and bigger kids next to the canal to feed the ducks and geese
Very pleased only problem was the gates as wheelchair was not able to get through .
Great place with a good amount of different shops for all ages and food and drink
Such serene beautiful park , just 10-15 minutes from new Islington tram stop.
Nice green area at Platt Fields well mown by the Canada geese and Ducks
It was so nice and not over crowded like other Parks in the Manchester.
Good to go. Lovely park for children and as well for adults to walk
Nice place to walk through, could be a little less litter.
Well kept but full of youths safe though lots of families
Needs a bit of work but the kids enjoyed playing on there
Nice clean city play park for younger children.
Beautiful park near my home
Well equiped play area
Now built up
