Horrible experience as an American. My wife is vietnamese. I went in the store to get some items while she was not off work yet . I wasn't sure if my item was right, wife said send a pic. So I did . All sudden old man comes out of no where grabs my phone with his hand. Says no pictures. I said ok sorry I didn't know .Continued texting my wife for information. He continued to watch me my entire time in store . He said no phone. I said sir, I understand no pictures I didn't know. I am texting my wife. He continued to yell saying he would call cops. I said sir I'm just talking to my wife. He said u call her or bring her in store. I said sir she is working im just texting her words. Very RUDE did not understand me? Did not ask if I needed help finding an item. Made me feel like a criminal . As a fraud specialist I am not a criminal at all ...but he followed me around like one. Dressed in business attire. It was obvious I did not open my camera again. But he adamantly requested to put my phone away rambling about he knows about computer and u can search in Google with words. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Dont expect customer service or to be treated kind here if your AMERICAN. Go to Hung phong oriental market instead .

I went there yesterday and was pissed off.I was their customer almost 5 years. They put the squash in a poly bag, with I assumed about more than 10lbs for 3-4 of them in it.I was told before I could get one out if that's all I need so I did.The old man came and yelled at me, and he said it wasn't allowed??? I said sorry I didn't know and tied the bag back for him.He said if I wanted it, I had to purchase the whole bag.And then he told me Asian people always do that with the store's food??I feel like I was being treated like scrap and discriminated because I am Asian, even I have been come there for a while. I won't return to this store again, below are the reasons : 1.You have to buy 10lbs of something you will throw way in the trash, because you can not eat them in a week. 2.They do have item very close to the expiration date on the shelf,if you don't pay attention you will get it.Some items you'll never see the price until you get to the counter. 3.I am their customer, and I pay for my food not begging them to give it to me.The way they treat the customer like they are the only one in this world to have Vietnamese food.

Great selection of Asian spices and sauces used for cooking. Many selection of instant spice mix for different Filipino foods. Price for most part is inexpensive. Instant noodle selection is great! They have a varied selection from different countries in South East Asia. Not a lot of Japanese, Korean, and Chinese instant noodles. A lot of Asian snacks that can't be found in American super markets. Utensils and dishware are plenty. Bowls are around $5 each. Down side. There was a few expired items on the shelf. No bakery section, but a small shelf; products don't say when the goods were made, so it was hard to judge how fresh they were. The meat section, I don't know how to describe it, but my gut says no.

Wide variety of Oriental Goodies from several "Oriental" types of Cuisine and Knick-Knacks from utensils too tea pots. Lots of frozen dumplings, etc to keep in the freezer for tasty, quick meals. Sauces of all kinds and a friendly staph. It's a one-a-month stop in our household! Oh and the Teas! Many different tastes from all over the world. My personal favorite : Russian Tea. I 1st tried "Try Gout Russe" in Paris and It Instantly became my All! Medium to light bodied with a "sweetness" (very light & tasty) that eludes other teas. Try it! In Any event try this small market!!!

Worst service I've ever experienced. I bought quail eggs 3 days ago and unfortunately didn't keep the receipt. The eggs were good until September 2017 but one egg was already molded and the other eggs were either half floating or completely floating. The worst is that the guy there tried to convince me that floating eggs are not bad!! No thanks, I don't want food poisoning! Maybe the health department should make a visit. I would've wished they would at least exchange them but they did not. Well, you just lost a customer! Thanks for nothing

As far as finding what you need to cook a particular asian dish, it is 5 stars. As far as the looks, organization, visible and available price tags it is a 1 star. Aside from the coconut cream I had no idea how much I was spending! Not true for the porcelan and acrylic/plastic beautiful bowls and housewares items which each had a price sticker on them. They carry just about all types of unusual asian frozen meats, sauces, rice, as well as some produce, etc. I always find what I need here. But one cannot be distracted by the looks of it.

Pretty well stocked small Asian grocery store. Has southeast Asian groceries from Thailand, Vietnam, Korea and other countries. Has fresh and frozen produce. Veggies and fruit usually very fresh. Meat and fish (usually catfish) also available. Also sells plastic dishware n associated products. Lastly has lotto for sale. Update. Still fairly well stocked. Although some products are now harder to acquire. Of course prices are up. But not a reflection of these small stores trying to compete with the larger chains.

We went to buy Moon cake yesterday and I asked her did those Moon cakes have expiration than she said not because all Moon cake just made them but in the morning next day I opened bags want to put to my Buddah and saw moles on top of Moon cakes .I called the store to many times no one answer don’t waste money on that store. Everyone when ever go shopping that store just look for expiration all theirs products they don’t want to throw away and they keep for to customers .

Pros - Good location - Wide selection of Asian food. - If you are looking for Thai ingredients, this is a decent place. Cons - No price labels for most of items on the shelves. No idea how much you spend until at check out. - Look carefully at expiration dates. I got an expired soy sauce once. - Some vegetables are old and moldy. Overall, they have everything you need for reasonable price, though not the cheapest Asian place I have found in San Antonio.

I love making Asian-style food and wanted a supply of G7, a Vietnamese instant coffee. Going into the store feels a lot like suddenly stepping into a true Asian market and you can find hard-to-find ingredients here that won't break the bank to buy. Staff let me shop in peace but were friendly and helpful. A very minor, teeny-tiny gripe about the place is they don't always open at exactly their opening times but that doesn't really bother me at all.

  • Matthew Darke

With Tim's nearly an hour from the house or my office the Vietnam Market is the perfect replacement. Fresh produce, and a butcher counter are just the tip of the iceberg. Everything you could possibly need to try out various pho or ramen dishes at home. They have a small freezer section with everything from dumplings to hard to find seafood from day your local HEB. Staff is friendly and helpful with questions. Parking is abundant as well.

  • Doug Rembowski

My area of San Antonio has many Asian markets. Vietnamese, Korean, they all stock your basic Asian products. What made this store stand out is the fresh items. Duck eggs and quail eggs, are items I haven't seen in the other markets. The true plus was the wide assortment of fresh vegetables and fruit. They stocked more than the other stores I had been to. Prices seemed competitive, so all around worth a visit in my mind.

  • carrie kadra

I absolutely adore the owners. I have been to every single Asian market ina 30 mile radius and this is the very best one. The prices are fair particularly forcanned goods which many places over charge for. They get delicious baked goods and other specialty items made for them like super spicy potato chips and fried tiny fish and an abundance of ready toneat deserts sifh rice noodle and coconut milk.

  • Hip Peaz

The owners are a sibling team and hands down the best of San Antonio! As bigger Marts are opening near by, they are taking business away. Those businesses are rude and never any help when needed. Sonny and his sister are always so friendly and go above and beyond to help any way they can. Please support this store, so they can continue to serve the community for generations to come!

  • Davidd Ramirez

I was Surprised to see so much stuff! I took about a hour looking around in there, the workers were very polite and very helpful in helping me get exactly what I needed! One thing stood out is it’s the cleanest Asian Market I’ve gone to in San Antonio. I’ll definitely be back. Even the Cashier was very sweet and helpful you don’t get that at any Asian Market. Lol

  • John Garcia

I normally come here for balout Owner was racist walking looking for noodles my mom would make me he told me no pictures i was texting then he said i was taking the names down of his product i showed him my phone and conversation and everything I was texting he started to yell i asked him if he like me to leave he said im not buying anything to go get out

  • Katherine Garcia

This place is super fun to go to! They have a fabulous instant soup selection, and overall, it's just fun to walk around and grab things that would be fun and interesting to try. They also have a GREAT selection of chopsticks and dishware that my family and I love. They are a little pricy, but many staple items like rice and sauces you can buy in bulk.

  • Khmer T

They carry everything just not all the time. Ask when fresh vegetable deliveries are and show up near that day. This being San Antonio we don't have the demand for the really big and well stocked stores like Austin but Vietnam Market is my go to. I visit others for quick stops but their offerings and selections are typically more limited.

  • Duc Phung

Lemon grass is a week old. They didn't stock up their produce supplies to meet customer needs. The place is filthy. The restroom... not to mention is too unhealthy. The staffs are unfriendly... please request less otherwise their customers services will shower you with bad manners. Technically, you have to find food items on your own.

  • Rifle & Pistol Expert

Not crowed at all. Workers are always busy and restocking. Register personnel is polite. I come to this store often for bags of rice(not too many choices though), Ramen noodles( many choices and types to pick from), refrigerated Pho Noodles(small & huge bags, also also has dried pho noodles), and other Asian products.

  • Desiree Martinez

This place was wonderful. I was able to find everything I needed for my recipe. Produce was great and the prices were fair. It was well organized and clean. The staff was very helpful! I had visited another place that was chaotic and not very well stocked right before I came here. I wish I had come here first!

  • Jimmy Jansky

Generally a great place with a variety of cooking, kitchen, and even restaurant needs. Selections of vegetables, meats, seafood, vegetarian, etc.- available both fresh or frozen. Pots, pans, dishes, kitchen/dinning utensils, etc. Even desert items vary from fruits to cake and the sort.

  • Laura Williams

Quite little variety. However, it was a little quaint family owned store. The man and woman who owned it helped us with everything and was super family friendly!! Kids got a lychee duck and a bunch of other odd items you can't find in the traditional markets. Super fun experience!

  • Riss Robinson

Smelled weird upon entering store, however, the staff are friendly and accommodating. Walked in just to browse, left with asian recipes and Asian foods. Pleasant shopping experience and adventure for new Cuisine ideas Also check out Chock Dee Market in Selma, Tx off Lindberg.

  • Rani

This store, tucked away in an area that's seemingly been urbanized, has your asian ingredients. The prices, compared to other stores less local are higher. But if you're looking for a store that's local and has your basic asian spices and vegetables and noodles, come here.

  • Thomas G

Update: nothing good here today. Less than 5 minute visit. Plenty to buy but nothing of good value and no good veggies. All picked through. Today was a good vegetable day. We got everything we we looking for and fresh. Usually better prices then down the street. Thanks!

  • Dinh Dover

Great place to get fresh Thai basil. It has everything an Asian family would want or need. This is one of two Asian grocery store catering to Vietnamese, that I know of in SA. There are also Korean groceries store close by if you need Korean and Japanese items.

  • rockysan

For a smaller market, it has a pretty good selection. It stocks most of the niche Asian products I need, especially the sausage made in California that is so, so good. The supply issues are keeping some of the things I do need off the shelves, though.

  • jolene underhill

It was very limited in space as you walked in and apparently they serve food to eat in the small store. Could of been fun but with unfriendly staff it was just a odd experience. Prices on what I purchased were not great but better than wallmart.

  • Chris Misener

Great selection and better pricing than other Asian grocery stores in the area. I had questions on a few items, the gentlemen running the register was polite and patient, definitely a plus. I will be back soon to stock up on more staple items!

  • Sharon o

I liked this market, I usually go to the ones on the other side of town. But I might have to start coming over here. What I really liked is that they carry sweeten condensed milk in a bottle. Makes it easy to make Vietnamese coffee.

  • Samantha Griffin

Great selection! Helpful staff and items I haven't been able to find anywhere else. The small restuarant is serving up sizzling eats that are delicious and authentic! Take a trip and explore the market and then grab a bite!

  • Arthur Seldon, Jr

I have relied on this store for years for items you can't get anywhere else, ie. soft shell crab, spring roll wrappers, all kinds of specialty condiments and sauces and all manner of items from that part of our flat Earth.

  • neal eng.

Unique international store. Very well organized and have many items are very hard to find in other stores. Prices fairly good for its fresh food. I love this store and I don't mind if I drive that 27mile from my house.

  • Jennifer Parks

I wanted to make some Thai food but could not read the packaging. The employee took me all over the store and helped me het everything I needed. He was very helpful as it has been awhile since I've made Thai food.

  • Jamie Hougham

I live this little shop. The employees are super friendly and help me find whatever I cant on my own. They always seem to have what I'm looking for, even when the bigger shop across the street doesnt

  • Dani S.

Great place to shop. While they do carry a lot of Vietnamese goods, they also stock items from all over Asia! The only complaint I have is that the cashiers could do to be a little friendlier.

  • Sa Huynh

I shop here once a month and they're stocked with all of comfort food from my childhood. Snacks, ingredients for delicious authentic Vietnamese meals, teas, ramen, coconut waters, housewares.

  • Robert Vietas

Our GO TO place for Asian foods. Only negative is that sometimes they don’t open on time so don’t make an out of the way trip there in the mornings or you may end up disappointed!

  • Jenny Pawlak

I would have rated it higher but I went there for one spice, tried to pay with my card and they said I had to spend 5 or more $'s. Since I don't carry cash it was a wasted trip!

  • Heather LeGaux

I love going here and they are very friendly. They have a really good selection including duck eggs, frozen fish and the produce you need for making a delicious Asian meal.

  • Nina Sauceda

If you are looking for some Asian fare go visit this small grocery store. I think that because of the pandemic their supply has dwindled a bit but still worth a trip.

  • Greg Leong

The only place I can find Vietnamese style sausage. Far better than the Chinese sausage. Great selection of really good Asian food products. Pricing is good, too.

  • Ryan H

It's never a bad thing to have an Asian market. It always smells kind of bad in the store but they have a lot of products you can't find anywhere else.

  • P

Like to go here once in a while to stock up on Asian products. They didn't have the tea I was looking for. However I did buy some new tea to try.

  • David Rice

For asian foods and sauces, they will have what you want. Also a great variety of rices. Fun place to pick up some unique items and it's not HEB.

  • Stephanie Contois

  • Kayla Burns

  • Lori K
