We’ve been coming here for 5 years. And I’ve really tried by best to not leave a bad review. As I’ve been so happy in the past. But its been experience after experience that has lead to a detailed negative review. Ever since the main vet, Chris left, this place had been a MESS. Every time we go (once a month, it’s a different vet) our dog had seizures. And they gave us medication for epilepsy. And as it didn’t get better. They made us increase the dose to in the end 8 pills a day. And it didn’t get better. He also had an ear infection , which they ignored every time our dog visit. Even tho they did a “check” we have now gone to a different vet and treated this and his seizure is nearly gone. Today I called to check when last time he had his vaccines. And it’s like 3 years out of date. Apparently, they sent us a message. Which we didn’t receive. But we visit every month….. why don’t they just check the system And say when we are there….. they reception just sounds confused….. couldn’t find our dog…. On the system ….. we visit every month lol so how can you not find us…. I mean my surname is probably the only person on the system…….. we asked our previous vet if we are the most regular and he said he we are too 3……. Yet every problem we have with our dog is completely ignored esp since Chris left….. What a mess this place has become It’s a shame they used to be so good And I didn’t mind spend £100-300 every single month here for the health of my dog. And from The recent reviews I don’t think I’m The only one who thinks this

We have used Village Vets in Highbury for our pet dog (Affenpinscher) since she was about 6 or 7 months old as we felt that the previous vets we used were more interested in having as many customers as possible and as many treatments for pets as they could recommend… and we are so glad we did! The whole team at Village Vets Highbury are so much more attentive and focused on what our dog needs rather than what they can sell. Whether it is communicating with them in person, by phone or over email they are fantastic and make every effort to ensure our experience is as good as possible. We have had our dog spayed at their surgery and they also corrected a herniated umbilical cord at the same time and our dog was so well looked after and especially we felt looked after in the post op care and final check up. What could’ve been a super stressful experience was made so much easier by them. More recently they have helped us to connect with a fantastic behaviouralist to help us with some fear responses our dog has been having. Overall, would fully recommend to any pet owners who want to feel like their pet is in the best possible hands and the best possible care available.

More misses than hits these days. It used to be good when we had Chris, and the locum Nina one time who was very caring and knowledgable and got the help our dog needed quickly. Apart from that, the level of care at this practice has gone downhill. 1. Misdiagnosis? I took my dog in last week to have her squinting eye checked. The vet did a fluorescein test and said there was nothing wrong and it should just "pass". It turned out to be an eye ulcer that got considerably worse, very quickly, and my dog needed an Emergency eye Surgery at a specialist centre...! 2. Even if you're on the Pet Health Club, you'll be asked to bring your pet in for a consultation (yes, chargeable) before they supply you with the worm treatments that they have been taking their entire lives. 3. To add insult to injury, they gave the wrong dose (of a higher dose) of the worm treatment tablets to my dog - not once but TWICE this has happened. Sadly, we have now lost all confidence in the already dwindling level of care they provide here which is a big shame as it used to be so much better....

1. If you're *not* white, do NOT attend this vet practice. You will be uncomfortable due to how they act around you. They start behaving strange to you or around you if you let them know your ethnic last name on the phone or if you're just simply there. Especially the receptionist counter. Extremely condescending when YOU are the owner and know how to manage your own dog. Passive aggressive undertones from the staff as well. I'm gonna assume it's because some of their customers are celebrities or something, so it gives them a bit of an ego boost. 2. They also won't care about your dog, I've had instances where my dog has had a health issue, and they'll tell me the same thing every time and never look deeper into the issue. Your concerns about your dog will not be taken seriously. Treat your customers better and reviews like these won't have to be written.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Village Vet over the last several years. My dog is now 11 years old, and we have been with a few different practices over the years, but none have come close to the standard of care and the warmth we have received from everyone on the team at Village Vet. You can really tell that everyone here from the reception team to the nurses and vets truly cares about the wellbeing of your pet. We are moving out of the area and are gutted to have to find a new vet for our dog. Thank you so much Chris and team for the amazing care you have provided over the years.

I have been taking my dog here since she was a puppy, where service started out okay. Since then it has gone from bad to worse. There is no permanent vet meaning it is hard to get an appointment and no continuity of care for any issue that isn't a one off. The prices are extortionate and rise each time you go in. The practice continue to take new animals even though they can't fit in those they have. The staff are overworked and underpaid and exhausted. Worst of all, my pet has not received the care she should which is the biggest disgrace of all.

Amazing team.. Justin is a Wonderful head vet who really listens, he cares about the animals welfare and you can see he really enjoys being with the animals. He is pro active and i never feel rushed. I also like the fact that he talks through problems not immediately rushing to so expensive tests. He is a really credit to the practice. Just a great team from Olivia on reception Maheer Veterinary nurse to Justin. My dogs Pip and Ronnie now actually enjoy their visits !!!! We’ll done team x

Dr Jake is super friendly and gave great advise for me and my kitten. My kitten had poop problems so he went and gave him a proper wash and a trim which im very grateful for as i struggled many times. The receptionist is very polite too. I have another appointment with Hoku with Jake and another appointment for my other kitten with another vet. For my first appointment i think i was 45 minutes late due to problems i had and still dr jake saw my lovely kitten Hoku. Thank you guys!

Absolutely lovely vets. Village vets was recommended to me by my boyfriend as I recently moved to the area. I had a concern with Trixie because I found a lump on her leg. On the same day they gave me the diagnosis and there was nothing to worry about. Although Trix doesn't like the vets, she was well looked after and left happy. The vet was complimenting me on how lovely Trix was and she really took care of her. Village vets adore each animal that come through their doors.

So grateful this place exists! The staff, the location, the care—top notch. Dr. Chris is our kitten’s vet and he’s always been so thorough and gentle with him. We just got our cat neutered and when we came back to pick him up, everyone was fawning over him. Can’t help but feel good knowing that your pet is in good hands, loved, and surrounded by people who are great at their job and actually like being around animals. The facility is also very clean and tidy. We love it!

Excellent experience dealing with our 2 adopted kittens who have CH, a neurological condition. It was a great comfort that Dr Chris was knowledgeable about the condition when we registered. One of the kittens sadly developed a serious cerebral infection and had to be euthanized, but the whole painful experience was dealt with with great sensitivity towards ourselves and the kitten. It is an absolutely warm and friendly team who make it easy to entrust your fur baby to.

Our usual vet Chris, has left. This new vet, nor the receptionist seemed to know what they were doing on this day and subsequently I believe my dog was given too much sedative, on top of general anaesthetic leading to his heart to stop. I had warned them that due to his brachycephalic breed and the fact the sedative usually doesn’t work well on him to be careful. He had only gone in to have a spot in his chin checked out. We are beyond devastated.

Sadly this practice has gone downhill recently. No permanent vet, closed on days when it should be open, and the computer system keeps going down. Ended up with a sick cat as the locum unnecessarily changed meds to a higher dose. Cat now much better after reducing them back to previous levels. Locum hadn't even read the notes on file. Used to be the best vet practice in north-east London, but since Chris left it's been getting worse and worse.

These are the most wonderful vets! Our dog has been going to them for about 4 years. Recently she had a weird injury in the park and was very distressed. The receptionist was able to get us an immediate appointment and Jake called to check up in the following days to make sure she was getting better. Our dog has made a good recovery and I felt so reassured to be in safe hands so well looked after. Very grateful for everyone at Village Vet!

We went to Highbury Village Vet for about 3 years after transferring from another local Islington vet we were not very happy with. We LOVED Highbury Village Vet! Receptionist were kind and knowledgeable - didn't make you feel like a hassle. And the vets were very attentive, patient, and helpful. Always felt like our dog was in good hands. Moving soon so we will have to find a new vet to fill the void. Thank you!

I've been here a few times with both my dogs and it has always been a lovely experience. I have been to a few other vets and this is by far the best in North London. The staff (receptionists and vets) are always so friendly and genuinely care about your pets. Vet for life and just down the road. Shout out to Chris as I have been lucky enough to experience his professional care to my dogs.

  • Ashleigh Reed

We took our new puppy to Village Vet for her first check-up and have been so thrilled with everything they have done since. She has recently been spayed and I felt like she was in safe hands with Village Vet with lots of appointment reminders, information brochures and 2 follow-up checks. All of the staff are so lovely and Porridge actually gets excited to go to the vet!

The level of care my dog receives is excellent and despite us moving away from the area I've kept him registered with Village Vet Highbury. The staff are so approachable, understanding and kind it makes the whole experience, whether it's a check up or something more, so much easier. Can't rate them highly enough and feel very thankful to have found them.

Just had a dental cleaning for my senior pom at the practice as they had the x-ray facilities she needed for before the proceudre. Chris was very caring and was very nice about answering all my crazy dog mom questions. It's clear that they are all super diligent and care about detail. Hoping to move to this vet permanently after this experience.

Absolutely love this vets!! Everybody that works there is lovely, kind and take real care to follow up when they say they will and get back to you quickly if you need support. I’ve always been able to get emergency appointments and the reception staff are amazing too. Thanks so much for looking after Puffin and Fernando so well !!

  • Reign Gray

Wonderful customer service. Made me feel very welcome seen as only a couple of weeks before I had to put my cat to sleep due to being very ill at another vets unexpectedly. So this trip was for me nerve wracking but they put me at ease. Treated my kitten Neo very well, made us feel like family and not just a number.

  • Samantha Machen

Amazing and wonderful vet practice. We got a pup and village vet have been there every step of the way to help us make sure he gets the best start and responded amazingly when he’s been poorly. Noelle and Patricia specifically are amazing and so kind and caring. 100% recommend this vet. Thank you!

  • Angelle Gutierrez

Lovely vets , feel very happy with the care my cats have received. The vet is absolutely lovely and I can't recommend him enough. It's also been easy to get appointments when I need them. The reception staff / nurses also handle all the insurance claims which make it so much easier.

  • Elizabeth Smith

Incredible vet practice. So friendly, reassuring and non-judgemental of the questions and situations that arise for a first time dog owner. I've had to ring a few times for advice and they've always been so helpful. My pup actually gets excited when he sees where we're going.

  • Fernanda Farina

Wonderful place to take care of our loved furry ones. They are attentive and gentle with the pets, mindful of safety for everyone and professional. Chris is a fantastic vet and the nurses are also great. I am really happy to have my cat Joe being cared for by village vet.

  • Chris Eye

I took my gran dog for her, the people who work here are so lovely. They see your animal for itself not as pound signs. They helped my grans dog and is better now. Would definitely go back. I've made this my grans vets from now on.

  • Rebekah Taylor

Lovely practice with very friendly staff. It’s perfect for routine visits and minor ailments. For anything more serious I go to Hampstead branch which has a hospital and is 24 hours.

  • Gabriella Amorim Reis

do yourself a favour and take your pets elsewhere as they don't really care about them. they will tell you to do things on your own. avoid at all costs.

  • Heather

We’ve been taking our cat here for years. They’re always so kind and excited to see him. They also don’t mind our crazy cat parent paranoia …
