EDIT (11/07/23): I cannot even put into words how disappointed I am with the drop in quality of this pharmacy over the past few months. They went from having on time refills, being easy to contact by phone, and having polite pharmacists to messed up refills, unanswered calls, and one particularly rude pharmacist (not any of the techs, the pharmacist — the techs are awesome). I understand that pharmacists are stretched thin right now but this shortage of pharmacists in the field is affecting the patients too. There’s no need to take your frustration out on us. Having to refill 4 prescriptions a month is a huge pain for me and I don’t need anyone giving me sass, being rude, and making my life more difficult. That kind of mess can make me run out of meds. For example, a pharmacist in the spring told me I could send in my schedule II prescription for a refill that I needed *that day* because I was going to run out over the weekend. You may be asking yourself why I waited until the last minute to get my refill. Well, I didn’t. In fact, earlier in the month the pharmacist told me she could do a partial refill on my meds and I could come back to get the rest “whenever” (direct quote). Unfortunately, apparently you need to request the rest of the refill within 72 hours or you’ll need a new prescription. I found that out when I called to refill on a Friday. Anyway, I busted my butt chasing down my physician for a new prescription and was miraculously able to get a new one sent to them by 3pm. Then I’m waiting for the refill I was promised and nothing. Finally I called and they were OUT OF STOCK. This is a schedule II so I cannot pick up the meds anywhere but where the physician sends the prescription. So I was SOL. The doctor’s office had closed for the weekend. I ran out of medication and had to spend 3 days in extreme discomfort because of this. It was unacceptable. I have a three strike policy, and they just earned their third strike this morning when I got repeatedly interrupted and shut down by the pharmacist until I eventually just hung up. Anyway, congrats, you just lost $5k+ next year because I’m taking my business elsewhere. What’s crazy is that since my original review was posted, the Bartell in Cap Hill is actually BETTER than the Walgreens. HA! ———————— Despite how sketchy it is outside, the inside of the store is very clean and they have a great pharmacy. I moved here a little over a year ago and since then I’ve been to two other Walgreens (both in Cap Hill) and one Bartell Drugs (Harvard Market). They were all a nightmare. I pick up 5 different prescriptions each month, one of them being a Schedule II. Bartell was notorious for holding my Schedule II hostage and not answering the phone. Most S2 prescriptions can only be picked up at the pharmacy the physician originally sent it to, so the 5 day wait times and ignored phone calls were a major issue that left me without meds for several days MULTIPLE TIMES. All of my prescriptions are for meds that I cannot miss a dose of, and I’d be lying if I said this didn’t take a huge toll on my health. The other two Walgreens were okay, but they were always out of stock with my S2. The pharmacy at this Walgreens has been a breath of fresh air. When I call, someone actually answers the phone, and they fill prescriptions promptly. I haven’t run out of meds since I started going there. This Walgreens is a 20 minute detour on my commute that I am happy to take because this is the only downtown pharmacy I’ve been to so far that’s actually reliable.
Rude cashier and false price advertised. Went thru all the corner of pharmacy for OTC stuff. I was being watched and whatnot but I couldn't care less because I know how it is nowadays. After half an hour I went to the front to check out. Saw a armed security guard there with items and waiting by the line, I didn't care what's going on because I'm ready to go I asked the lady to make sure it's all OTC stuff. Half of the stuff I took wasn't OTC. I told her that it said OTC on them. So I don't get it She gave me an attitude and said do you want to look at the screen? I said no.. so this messed up my pricing and I asked to get 1 more item. I hurried up quickly and got back down. After all the prices it was over the limit of the OTC card somehow. So I said I won't want 2 item. She said she have to void all of it and asked a manager or someone to helped her. After that it was all good. I didn't understand what she said cuz her English wasn't that great but but she asked me again I said yes. It turns out she was asking if I wanted a bag. I'm there waiting and ask her it want to put my phone number in. She said go put it in. As I can't see any option for that , that's why I told her. She said put it in..I told her I can't. So by the time another customer got in line and then another one. Cashier lady being rude said I should help him first then help you instead because you're holding up the line.. I was ready to pay. And wiating.. if the line is busy she should call for another cashier there. I didn't want to make a scene. It was almost 9am am in the morning and I'm tired. I also just want to get this done and get out. So get this she put a couple of item in 2.. paper bag. And charged me 16 cent for them Which I didn't really need. Over $100 for a couple of item. I get it pharmacy sutff is expensive. Well this is my first and last time here. Looks like she didn't like her job and need a new one or she need to learn how to deal with people. Never I heard that someone holding up a line even when they take 5 min. Customers always right and you need to help them. Very first bad experience especially when the store just opening up. I wasn't even mad when those OTC prices were wrong. I can prove it's all OTC on the ad. I'm not even blaming anyone . But this lady need some attitude adjustment if she wants to like at places like this. I should've just walked out, but I'm already here and need to go other places.
I am a healthcare provider (who works with Covid patients) and would not recommend this establishment to anyone. I came in to attempt to get a Covid booster and they were fully booked which I understood but also asked that if anyone did not show up for their appointment if I could take it instead if I were here and on site at the time and the pharmacist’s response was “ No we have too much work to do.” The next available appointment is not for a week. It is very concerning to me that the pharmacists in this establishment appear to have no empathy or care for others. I was asking to take an open slot if someone didn’t use theirs— very simple. They are clearly overworked, rude, and extremely unfriendly and I will not be returning here nor recommending this Pharmacy to any of my patients as a result of that.
Twice in the last week I've come into the store, picked up what I wanted to buy, stood in line for about ten minutes, gone up to the cashier, and then the cashier just up and walks away in the middle of what they're doing to help a co-worker with something. The first time I waited about 3 minutes and today about 5 minutes. Then the cashier comes back without so much as making an acknowledgement of me, then takes another minute or two to get back on track before asking for payment. Here's a wild suggestion, Walgreens employees... Finish what you start. Screw free covid testing... This place should give out free adhd meds to all employees. On the bright side... The security guards are coo.
Had a disappointing experience in this store today (Nov 24th) with a manager there named Mary. I came in from out of town to buy items that are advertised on the store's website, only to be told by staff (trying their best), that they can't honour online prices within the store for some foolish reason (even though the items I wanted were on the shelf). The manager normally in the past would simply grant the online price, but Mary refused to even consider it. She never even came out of her office. Terrible management there and it needs to change - suggest replacement / fresh training for her. What kind of store will not honour their online price within the store?
When I tried asking a question the asian lady cashier that was ringing me up snapped on me for asking a question about the cash back part. I. Than asked another worker to speak to the manager, and as the manager for Walgreens was coming my way i was that the cashier that snapped on me look at the Manager ( Amiliea ) looked at me when i told her what happened she did not once asked me what was said. It clearly looked as if they were really cool with eacj other. That is not right so I recommend NO ONE!!! shop at this Walgreens.. Thank Youand said something to the manager quickly and rolled her eyes. Than the manager was basically not taking me serious becau
Bessie the pharmacist lied to me about my medications. I requested refills from my provider she failed to realize I filled the order elsewhere. She lied and said there was no available prescriptions. There was so. When I complained to her she got smart with negative comments and failed to do her job and did not fulfill the order. I explained to her I will be doing her review and she replied she didn’t care. She was and is unprofessional and needs to be address for her poor behavior. I would recommend management terminate her position and to have her find employment elsewhere. I will continue to write reviews for this company until expectations are met.
I try to be positive about businesses, particularly during COVID, but this store is just awful. If you can make it past the crowds of drug addicts the city allows on this corner, you will find a store that is poorly run, with little respect for customer service. I recently placed on on-line order and prepaid to have it picked up. After a 30 minute walk to the store after getting an email my order was ready, I was told my order could not be picked up due to a computer error, and I was asked to return in a day or two. The staff were incredibly rude. The store is not well kept, and very disorganized. I won’t be back to this store or any Walgreens again.
Terrible Walgreens. Felt like shopping in a third-world country. Waiting in line had to deal with a very loud mentally ill person who was shouting at people, but security did not bother to remove them from the store. Could not purchase the Nicoderm patch I wanted from behind the counter because the otherwise nice lady working the counter did not speak enough English to have the slightest idea what I wanted. If you hire a person for a customer service role it would help to have them speak the language of your customers. I will not go back. And this was all in the middle of the afternoon, not even late at night.
Sometimes it pays to shop your own neighborhood first. I went online to locate a particular item, found a highly favorable price north of me on a less than convenient bus line AFTER confirming available stock, only to have them tell me it was "discontinued at our location". So, back on the bus, and I got off at Pike and thought to check here on a hunch, and, ONE PACKAGE LEFT and not disagreeably higher! Should have stayed in my own market neighborhood. Thanks, Walgreens staff for helping me find it! Happy camper.
I was at this Walgreens location last night and the security guard working was very clearly high on drugs. It was very unnerving to see him pacing around, talking to himself, talking rapidly, making faces in the window at himself. He carries a gun, that is absolutely terrifying to think about what could happen if he used it! It is extremely unsafe to allow someone clearly under the influence of substances to work let alone work as security where you are provided with weapons. YIKES!
My wife has a torn rotator cuff and needed her pain meds. We were unaware that the pharmacy closes from 1 to 1:30. We got there at 12:58. The gate was down. But a worker still helped us. She was upset but still professional. She was black with short hair and glasses. Bless her. My wife needed those and it would have thrown off the time for her later appointment. Thanks to that woman for helping us. I wanted to point that out. Thanks again.
Went in to pick up a parent's prescription last week. I asked a representative for the pharmacys location. She not only ignored me but rolled her eyes and walked away from me. Customer service is no longer a priority here. I asked another representative for help and she was helpful. She told me that other representative was new and already had a lot of customer complaints. She was a black lady.
Cooler screens creep me out, avoiding Walgreens like the plague because istg im going to burst a blood vessel if I'm going to have to be visually violated any more. Also the cameras? Really. I'd rather go somewhere where I feel safe and not on display 24/7. You're not even paying for us to deal with this tech. I was looking for a new pharmacy. Guess who it won't be.
There was an incident with this so-called manager mistaken a price at $74 for $16.99 tried to clarify this me and him going back and forth the guy goes sensitive with me tells me he's not going to sell me the item after I told him three times you ringing this up wrong for $74 Don't go to this place they need to close it down
I’ve been using this Walgreens for my prescription needs for fifteen years and the pharmacy staff at this location is the absolute best. They take amazing care of their regular customers, know your name when you walk up, and go out of their way to make you feel valued.
called ahead to ask how long passport pictures would take as i was in a rush. the lady on the phone said 5 mins tops, but when i got there their passport machine was broke. why not mention that over the phone when i asked ?? wasted my time
This particular location at Pike & 3rd Ave takes the First Place Prize for the Filth and Stench unsurprising the conditions of 100 Dumpsters Crawling with Maggots and Disease... "High ✋ Five & Congrats" for a job well done .
An drug store with an upstairs. I love's me some big city drug stores. I needed aspireen's. Found me some generic house of small sizes Children's Aspirin. All is well, thank you very much. Nice people working behind the counter
Stopped by at 7:45 and security would not let me in to shop. The website, door sign and call center all show that they close at 8! The security guard was extremely rude, as he let in 2 white women but not me. Help me understand
I went here for my Covid vaccine and the staff at the pharmacy was incredibly disrespectful and impatient. I will not be back at this store again and would not recommend anyone to go here.
If you are having your passport photo taken here be sure to handle the sizing yourself. The attendant was sloppy with mine and printed photos with a larger than allowed head size.
Great location if you're downtown or at a hotel. Slim slim pickings for shopping, likely hit or miss if you're looking for something essential as the stock is limited here.
This area scares the hell out of me. So many homeless people, the streets are very untidy even to walk. Even in groups, I never felt safe walking around this area.
There should be a “negative star”, or at least a “zero star” in the rating system, for this Walgreens does NOT deserve any merit — as denoted by a stat.
This is, hands down, the worst Walgreen's in the entire country. Shelves are empty, short-staffed at the registers, vagrants wandering the store.....
Cool Walgreens store. Close to downtown and hotels. They busted 3 shop lifters in the short time we were there. Props to the security at this place!
Shockingly clean considering the area. Cashier was a little grumpy and nuts but I would be too if I had to work customer service on 3rd Ave …
Its decent size with two levels , they even got a alcohol area too . Was a line up at the check-out.
Worst passport photo service. The lady gave two different photos. Background was blurred
Really terrible experience! not much better assist wouldn't recommend go there
It is the best place to get your groceries and medicine in downtown Seattle!
I can see why they got a one star rating. This place is a joke..
Store is always understaffed and in a dangerous spot
Horrific service, wrong marked tags, idiots!
Understaffed and always out of things
