I will start off by saying that the location of this cafe is superb, particularly during warm spring days as the view off the balcony looking out on the water is lovely and the area somehow feels secluded even though it is bordered by a main road. However, the food and beverages all fall flat. I ordered a soy cappuccino and the flavour was great but there was, without exaggeration, about two inches of froth. Considering the cup was very small to begin with I only ended up with 3 mouthfuls of coffee. My partner ordered a latte and had the exact same experience - I am not sure why they do this, it made it messy to drink and felt like a rip off. The food came promptly and the staff were very friendly to us but our orders were very bland and frankly overpriced for their quality. It was definitely edible but there was really nothing going on in terms of flavour. I ordered a broccoli and cherry tomato risotto. From the first bite it was very clear that the risotto needed to be cooked for a further 10 minutes at least - it was chewy and hard. The broccoli was beautiful and fresh but could have also been cooked longer to give some of the flavours a chance to permeate the meal. The worst by far however, was the completely whole and raw cherry tomatoes thrown in at the end. They had barely even warmed through! Cherry tomatoes explode when you bite them, it was mind boggling why they didn't cook them into the meal. Partners meal was a parmigiana that had been hammered too thin that it lost all succulence, topped with too much cheese and cheap tasting sauce. Chips were standard, salad was standard... probably should have just got this meal from an RSL- it would have been cheap at least. Overall, the area is nice, the service was fine - the food and beverage was overpriced for frankly bad to terrible quality.

It's my day off, I decided to take my dog Pete a little mini dachshund for a walk and I thought you know what I'm going to pop into Waterside Cafe, support a local small business and treat myself to a nice sit down brekkie and coffee with my boy. I don't really like leaving him (my dog) alone as he is very nervous so I picked him up and walked inside the Cafe so I could quickly place my order and then go back outside to choose a table BUT that's when I had a finger waved in my face with the word "No" and then she pointed at the door... I couldn't believe it to be honest, if you had of asked nicely fair enough I would be tied him up outside and came back in to order but that was the WORST customer service I've ever experienced so I left. I understand people not liking dogs but I've done this many times at other cafes so I thought it'd be fine, there was still no need to treat me the way you did. You'd think they'd be a little more dog friendly considering the Cafe is by a dog walking hotspot. So disappointed.

We’ve eaten here a few times and always enjoyed it but this morning the wait staff hovered around to clear the tables. I had literally just put my knife and fork down and was still chewing and an older lady was already at the table taking the plate away. It made the whole experience feel like we were rushed to get out and very annoying. Good customer service is critical for the wait staff in the café industry for several reasons: Wait staff are the face of the café and are responsible for providing excellent customer service to ensure customer satisfaction. Customers who are happy with the service they receive are more likely to return to the café and recommend it to others.

We called and checked if there was sufficient seating, they confirmed there was. We then drove quite a long distance to have brunch only to be told there was no seating and there were four customers in front of us. The girls in front of us even suggested they move one of the MANY tables inside, as there was many places were the tables could be rearranged to accommodate more room. Even the small two person could have went up against the wall easily. However the two girls left running the restaurant area were clueless and were not willing to assist in anyway. I'll be suggesting to friends in that area not to bother.

Nice spot for breakfast or brunch. Head in before 11:45am if you want access to the full breakfast menu. Ambiance: The water and park views paint a pretty picture, especially on a nice, sunny day. The numerous windows offer great views, and the outdoor seating areas are nice as well. Food: We've had breakfast here before, it wasn't bad. The lunch menu is quite small and doesn't have a lot of options. While portions are good and the food is pretty ok, pricewise it doesn't stack up. You can get better options at similar or less cost. The coffee is decent as well. Service: Mostly friendly, no complaints.

I'm giving this a 5 star based on my last experience with the waitress Karen, who was absolutely amazing and very welcoming. I've been here 2 times before and didn't like the service we received by previous waitress on that experience i would give it a 1. Karen was so lovely to deal with and very caring, we had 3 toddlers with us and she made sure everything was comfortable for us. We even forgot to pay, and walked right out, I called Karen who was very understanding and I went straight back and paid. So thankyou to Karen who made our morning very enjoyable and the food was amazing.

I have been a regular at waterside cafe for over 2 years now. Everything I’ve tried on the menu for lunch and breakfast has been made perfectly my daughter loves the pancakes meal. The soup is my fav in winter or what is on the specials for the week is always made so well. The owner is always kind and accommodating to all customers fairly. The staff are very friendly and their coffee is great.

Family get together for breakfast before driving north. Suggest book for groups, we were 7 people and really appreciated them making space. Food, coffee, juice and ordering and service was all great. Terrible, cold, expensive breakfast. Came out cold. Paid $3.50 for avocado and got 4 thin small slices that was unripe. Sausage was cut open almost as if the chef did not know how to tell if it was cooked. Cold holindaise sauce. Poached eggs were not cooked enough, also cold. Tea in a pot with a tea bag was also not impressive. Would have sent it back had we not waited an extraordinary amount of time for an almost empty Cafe. The only redeeming factor was the view which is pleasant. Wobbly table mixed with a blunt knife detracted from any of the pleasantness.

I visited the cafe today, hoping to find some solace on a challenging day while holding my baby. My sole desire was to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air, especially since I was struggling with anxiety and wanted to share a peaceful moment with my little one. Unfortunately, the Waiter didn't allow me to sit outside, which left me deeply upset. This was my favorite cafe in Hume, and the experience left me even more disheartened and disappointed, adding to my feelings of depression and distress

Decide to drop by here from the airport with 11 of us. Staff were extremely helpful to accompanied that with a smile without a booking, the counter lady was very patient with us, despite been a bit busy during lunch trade. Thank you for looking after us even though our kids were making a mess. Highly recommended for a family friendly outing with a bonus of a water view and perfect place for kids to run around to burn off energy after. Hats off to the team at Waterside Cafe. Absolutely appalling. After waiting in line for ages to order, I'm finally up when another staff member pushes in front to take over the register so she can key in a massive order for a 12 person table when all I was ordering was 2 meals. Jokingly said "I believe that's called pushing in", and received the response "I'm the boss so it doesn't matter". I responded with well I'm the customer and I've been waiting in line. As for the food I wouldnt feed it to my dog. Bland and flavorless. Won't be seeing me again.

Really enjoy coming here, the staff are lovely and service is very efficient. Great coffee. Would like more selection for "quick bites" with a focus on healthy alternatives but still lots of choices. There is only 1 of 2 entries that are 'accessible' to wheelchairs and families with Prams. Would love a little ramp on the cafe side rather than walking through the sales section, the staff are always ready to help though! Not the most spacious cafe but still so nice. The waterview is great on a sunny day.

I went to Waterside Cafe a few weeks ago. Once my puppy and I finished our walk, we went to the cafe, a gentleman (owner I believe) saw me standing by the cafe door, he came out, asked if I wanted a seat, took my order by the door as I couldn't go in, wonderful coffee and food. This morning, I did the same, this time the waitresses said 'you need to come inside to order', I said I was alone holding onto my puppy, she look at, turned around and walked back inside the cafe. Very disappointing.

Not a Hugh selection of food, but what they do have is well priced and tasty Friendly staff and good service. Reasonable amount of seating available. I noticed with where 2 tables were positioned, customers and staff had to squeeze past a Hugh steel column in the cafe

We visited this Cafe for the first time. We chose this place as a nice one to enjoy a Saturday morning breakfast. The food was good but the customer service wasn't. They came to us 3 times to collect our dishes when we were still eating. I told them each time that we are not finished and waiting for some extra orders but they came back to us one by one for the same reason, And the 4th staff collected our unfinished dishes without asking. We're never going back there again.

Really liked this cafe. Good location and good food. Coffee was nice too. I ordered the smoked salmon salad and it was really delicious and fresh. They have a separate lunch and breakfast menu. Lunch menu starts at 12pm I believe and you can't order breakfast after that (except for a few items). Will be returning for sure. It was quite full even on a mid week afternoon. Ambience was nice and space was clean.

A very pleasant location. Quite satisfied with this visit, I feel it has improved since my last visit, possibly a different chef ‍ ???

The staff are extremely rude!! As I started eating my brekkie they wanted to take my plate every 5 min, and they don't let me enjoy my brekkie at all (keep coming for more than 10 times)!!! Another thing is that their poached eggs are hard-boiled all the time and when I tell them this issue, they just say it is what it is.

The food quality was poor and unacceptable for a cafe . The nachos wasn't cafe quality and complately from store jar, nothing fresh about it . The burger was too small and nothing significant about it. the dip platter also too plain & dont get me started on the coffee , the constant coffee from supermarkets teast much better. AMAZING CAFE! Truly a must visit. I had one of the best coffees I’ve had ever and this isn’t the first time. I started off with a medium then went back for a large! Food was great as well and the staff are hospitable, but credit to the barista excellent coffee!! Will definitely be coming back again.

Shocking! So disappointed with the meal. Ordered Caesar salad eg The croutons were moist as if not cooked properly or sitting in the salad for ages. Coffee? Awful. Had to ask for it to be made again and double shot to get flavour of coffee... Real shame as had been there 12months ago and was lovely.

Lovely cafe, great service and food. The staff are friendly. Would love longer trading hours as this place closes at 3.30 everyday. It would be nice to go out for coffee in the evening as the atmosphere is very nice, if only they were open late.

So I'm sitting outside with my 8 month old in high chair n dog. Wife had gone to the car n was away 15min. Asked the waitress if I can order n was told to order at the counter. 20 min later , same waitress takes order from a lady at next table who was with her dog. Double standards for white skin.

Good staff but no option for veggies. I am disappointed & upset. People like me who don’t eat meat would love an options for veggies. I would highly recommend them get more option for vegetarian/vegan.

Good food. Loved to see that when one of the wait staff was taking my husbands plate and wasn't all finished, he cared to ask if something was wrong with his meal, which wasn't he was just full. It's nice to see waiters go to that level and ask. As not many do these day's. Coffee is great too.

Amazing food, everyone was so kind. This cafe is beautiful especially when you sit outside near the water. The food is exceptional and the staff are so kind and friendly. Definitely come here!!

Perfect ambiance and location near the lakeside of Craigieburn, approx 35 mins out of Melbourne CBD north side, is a great family Sunday morning breakfast location where you can stroll along the lake and admire the view, the food and coffee is 1st class all the way, defintley will return

Not much to choose from if you’ve got dietary restrictions. Low carb or keto friendly dishes would be a nice find. Or even unsweetened almond milk for coffee orders would be a huge blessing.

Amazing little cafe! Food is fresh and ample. The vegetarian burger was delicious, staff are friendly and lovely views of the lake too. All the staff were very attentive but Karen and Steph were both amazing! Thumbs up all round. This will definitely be our go to cafe.

My friend and I watched all the staff laugh and make fun of this woman who fished out of the lake a dead bird that was making that area smell. We don’t understand why that was something to laugh at. Goes to show what kind of people work there

This is literally the WORST Cafe. The last time I went there I wast told there was a 35 minute wait for a Toastie. Wont go back ever, as that wasn't the first time it has happened to me. I guess the great location they have will keep on customers no matter what.

One of the few cafes in Craigieburn that provides decent food and coffee. Does help that it has a pretty decent view of the lake so you could go for a walk after brunch. There's a playroom so parents could have their food while the little ones are kept occupied.

Way too expensive, not worth it at all. Ordered 2 vegetarian breakfast and end up paying 54$ and it comes with only one piece of toast, I asked for one more piece, they followed me to the car asking me to pay 4$ for the extra piece . Not recommended at all …

Staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. I was ordering takeaway, but it would be a lovely picturesque view if one were to dine in. Only thing I found was they are a little on the more expensive side, however, the food was good and my coffee was awesome!

First time eating at highlands waterside cafe. I will definitely be back reasonably priced. I got the old school buger and chips. I would recommend this meal if you are into burgers very delicious very satisfied

First time in waterside cafe Craigieburn and YOU have to go! It’s the cutest little spot with amazing food. The big breakfast and avocado on toast is to die for. The service we received was so amazing and we will definitely be back again.

Not impressed at all with d food! Quick lunch of 3 tasteless Chicken Burgers costed a total of $60 . Quite pricey and not deserving of d money. Not sure if d chicken fillet in burger was actually just boiled. Will surely not visit again.

I took my family to have a quality coffee time 40 mins before their closing time, were told we weren't allowed to feed our 2 toddlers from food we brought, because their Kitchen was closed, seriously?. The "Supervisor" didn't care less.

I wanted to take my partners mum for a nice local coffee and she suggested we go here. Fab location. We shared a lovely chicken salad and carrot cake - delicious! It was a perfect day to sit outside and enjoy the spring warmth.

Nice Location by the Lake, but portion sizes aren't the best 8 chips on the side with the BLT burger. As a whole it wasn't the best coffee was good and kids meal was okay! Waitresses were lovely! But food needs a little work.

We didn't get to book ahead but the lady took us in. Thank you. :) The vegetarian big breakfast and big breakfast were amazing and so tasty. And we had a walk around afterwards, definitely the best way to start the weekend.

In fairness to the Owner's I've never had any of the Fare available. From what I've seen from people eating and from the counter, it looks pretty good to me. There's a lovely Lake to stroll around or feed the Duck's.

A good place to have a coffee with a great view! It's kid friendly and when you're finished drinking your coffee its a 1 min walk to the park.

It was closed today due to New Years holidays but I discovered the adjoining lake is rather scenic with birds and a nature walk around it.
