I was in buying a few pieces and when there, the staff member, mid my conversation with them, interrupted me to deal with a courier. Those situations arise, but he just ignored me. Then when showing the man an image of the items I required, he scrolled through the phone which I thought was unprofessional and he saw a picture of my fiancée and starting asking questions about her, where we are from. Nothing malicious, he was helpful, but asked alot of inappropriate questions. One of the items I did not have any use for and went to return it later that day. He asked me to swear on my fiancées life that it was never used and if I was religious. The most bizare encounter I have had with someone in a long time. Its disappointing, it seems like a useful shop, but he was unprofessional.
Let's all mourn the Bruins who had the best regular season ever but playoffs whole different game. The Panthers had nothing to lose and just winning one game was all it took for them to believe they could pull one of the greatest upsets of all time. I just watched game 7 and even though Boston took lead in third period it was Florida carrying the play and they were the better team overall. I had a bad feeling with Boston's unreal reg season that they just had to win the cup or it was a failure season too much pressure ,how many turnovers they had today was really high sorry Steve must hurt more than ever but there's always next year
Great little store, terrible customer service! Called there to ask if they were still open during this difficult time, a Man answered rudely and said ''well obviously if I answered the phone''. I let him know that I am a customer that is calling to give his small shop business, Home Depot doesn't speak to their customers that way! Every time I've ever been there, there is a grouch behind the register and when I ask for something he acts like I'm putting him out.. not giving that place another dollar!
So grateful to have this little gem in our neighborhood. Usually have everything you need and you can get there by foot! They also provide good advice on DIY projects. I personally like the owner's dry sense of humor and practical approach. Was able to repair a moldy and crumbling countertop under my kitchen sink with new caulking and some paint. No trips to a big box store required! Thanks West End Paint and Hardware!
My Aunt needed a locksmith on short notice. I called Bruce (Owner & locksmith). I coordinated with him via phone & text; he responded quickly. I explained to him that my aunt is a senior and non-technical. To make a long story short, my Aunt was impressed with Bruce’s patience, professionalism, manners, excellent communication skills, and ability to quickly troubleshoot & resolve the problem.
I just moved to Vancouver and needed some help getting my license plate put up on the front of my car. Not only did a staff member give me friendly advice, but he also didn’t even charge me for the bits of wire I needed for the job. This kind of service is such a great reminder to shop local. I can’t reccommend this shop enough.
The staff is extremely rude, and they do price gouging. I called them yesterday to ask a price for copying a key, and they said it is going to be $3ish. But today when my mom went there they told her it costs $5.5. When my mom asked why you are charging more, they threw the keys and told my mom you could do it somewhere else.
Great little hardware store! One of the few gems left in the West End. The staff are always so friendly and helpful and they can give you help with whichever project you need help with. They also cut keys!! So get some backup keys when you go there. Great place! I actually feel lucky to have such a store in my neighborhood.
Everytime I come into the store to buy something I need I leave completely satisfied, my guy saved the last fan he had for me when I called and ask for one , he did not have to do that, on a heat wave like this thoughs kind gestures do not go unnoticed. Much appreciated. Bless your soul my friend you're a good man.
Great local shop to pickup tools and supplies for various projects. It's a small store but it's packed to the brim. Owners are knowledgeable and friendly and in my various times shopping here I've never walked out without what I needed. Highly recommend this place if you're in the area.
Great selection, cool little store but very inconsistent and reluctant/resentful customer service. So bizarre to see a small business so impolite and reluctant to help people. Have been a few times and I wanted to support them but not at the cost of being treated poorly. Won’t be back.
I was the only customer in the store and I had a couple of questions. I was there to buy something specific that he carried so I was gong to make a purchase. The guy couldn't look up from his cell phone to help me at all. I wanted to support my local hardware store..but guess I cant.
I think this is a really good neighbourhood hardware store. It has all kinds of those things you need and have to run out get in the middle of a project. Also, I like the two guys running it. They're so not out to impress and I just love how down to earth and funny they are.
For some reason, greeting, indeed politeness in general, seems to be considered a weakness by the staff. I was used to this kind of service when I lived in Eastern Europe, part of the reason I moved. I'll happily walk across to Davie to another hardware store.
I don't go to this kinda store very often but it seems the staff isn't very friendly at all whenever I went. Simply saying thank you after a customer purchased the items isn't that hard. But I guess it's not easy for them to say it.
Great shop! It's amazing the range of products they have here. We went in for a plumbing fitting we couldn't find at Home Depot and got great customer service as well as a really good price. Please shop here!
This place is such a hidden gem. Great service, some of the best and usually can find what you are looking for at a reasonable, if not outright better cost, than anywhere else. Much recommend.
Always prefer to spend my hard earned dollars in a local store, but the service wasn't very friendly or helpful today. If you want neighbourly help, you may need to go to a different store.
Handy place, small but has a lot packed into a tight space. Well organized. Also a great place to get keys cut, they were able to cut keys that Home Depot did not have.
Did a great job repairing a bent key! The first key didn't work but I went back and he was very kind and made another one for me on his lunch break at no extra cost.
From keys cut to paint supplies and more, the West End Paint & Hardware is my go to spot! Thank you for always having what I need and your wonderful service!
I came with a list and left with a box of supplies and tools for my project. Steve and co operate the quintessential friendly neighbourhood hardware store.
What a gem! Amazing selection for such a small neighbourhood shop. So glad to not have to run out to HomeDepot or Canadian Tire for every little thing.
If you can't find something in Dollarama, you will find it here. Despite its small size, this place has all kinds of household hardware items.
In town to help set up my daughters new accommodation and needed a few items. Very polite, helpful staff (Bruce). Would use again for sure
Love this place! The owners are very helpful and I can always find what I need in this small, privately owned neighborhood hardware store.
The best thing about this place is the staff. They don't have a ton of stuff but they have what you need and are always willing to help.
Great little store that is not so little. Has pretty much everything you need with a great staff! Thanks for being there..
A very professional and friendly place! Bruce (?) helped me out big time! This is how you treat customers!
Just anouther place where I love to get my house materials. Management is so down to earth and Cool.
Great selection. Nice owner. Nothing else in the area for hardware so this is your best bet!
Amazing amount of inventory for a store on the smaller side. Bruce is always super helpful!
Really great friendly service. Very knowledgeable and helpful every time I have been there.
Well stocked store that on two visits had exactly what we needed. Friendly, helpful staff.
This is an awesome old-school hardware store that somehow still exists in our city
Excellent customer service Have always been helpful Great small town welcoming
Lol why are the staff so rude? I don't understand these high ratings at all.
I've been a customer of this store for almost 20 years - great service!
